This score is only in regards to the bowling lanes. I've experienced the same issue the last two times I've bowled here. The lanes are not properly maintained and oiled. And ball thrown with spin will hook immediately and go straight into the gutter. Only bowl here if you are a straight bowler. read more

First let me start by saying i love main event, especially their bowling. Ive gone to other locations and they're great. Unfortunately at this specific location the customer service provided isnt the greatest. Theres girls giggling while assisting clients at the register and having side conversation infront of them also. One of them said "oh look at him" I work in hospitality and i must say that just unprofessional. Then when we ask a question we get a rude answer. The males just look bored and sluggish, the way they speak and present themselves. The waiters and waitresses are very welcoming "since they work off tips im sure" Rather than that we love paying for the spring pass and enjoying the entire day bowling, playing games or billards. I recommend stopping here but just know you wont get the greatest customer service. read more

Went here for their unlimited bowling on Friday night only to discover that it's unlimited by the hour. We had a group of 9 people hoping to bowl for a few hours and right as we were wrapping up the first two games and really getting settled in, the bars came up (stopping one game from actually being finished) to discover that we had to get back on the waiting list to get settled in again. While we understand and appreciate the fact that the establishment is trying to accommodate all customers and give everyone a turn, this was not disclosed to us prior. Not only did we get cut off, we were told that we could have reserved lanes which we called and tried to do. When we called we were told that they wouldn't take reservations. When we were getting kicked off our lane, we were told we could have online or on the app. Why was that not disclosed over the phone? If it had been, we absolutely would have done that. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because Tricia, our server, was amazing. She did everything she possibly could to try to remedy the situation, as our group was incredibly frustrated at the whole ordeal, and she was a delight. If there was a rating tool for just the servers, she would get 5 stars and a raving review. After all the fuss, we ultimately had to leave our lanes which made us leave all together even though the manager tried to accommodate our inconvenience with free game cards for the arcade. While it was a nice gesture, being told all the information up front would have eliminated the stress and frustration. Long story short, this establishment may want to look into training their staff a little better when it comes to communicating with customers. read more

Our bowling lane kept messing up and Oscar still works there. AWESOME! So obviously they read these reviews but don't do anything about customer concerns. I will give them a zero star if I could. We had a birthday party yesterday and it was the worst party experiences that I ever had. We booked their Extreme Package with bowling and laser tag for 22 kids, and on the contract it clearly stated that $5 FunCard will be given to each kid. When I signed the contract I was told for kids that are less than 48 inch tall who cannot play laser tag will be given a $10 FunCard, I asked them to add it on the contract but was told that every party coordinator know that rule. On the day of the party, we then told that instead of $5 Fun Cards, kids will be given amount of time for the arcade, and since everyone will be staying together kids that are not going to laser tag will not be given $10 Fun Card. I feel not comfortable as I was not given what was stated on the contract. What made me very angry was, there are 6 younger siblings that was also at the party, they were too young to play bowling or laser tag. I told the party coordinator that there will be 22 kids for the extreme package, I will be purchasing 2 $5 Fun card for the 2 younger siblings and we will purchase drinks for all 6. The party coordinator ask for the name for all 28 kids, I told them the 6 younger sibling will only be eating but not doing any of the activities and they said they still need the name. At the end, all 28 kids were charged for the EXTREME Package, and of course the $10 game card too. I don't understand, 6 kids didn't played bowling nor laser tag nor getting arcade card but they got charged for the whole package. For just drink and pizza? That must be a very expensive pizza! Not to mentioned I purchased additional two pizza and nachos for everyone. If they are charging the party package they should let me know ahead of time, so we can at least let them play bowling. We are only given 5 lanes for 22 kids to play bowling, if they are charging us for 28 kids then we should be getting more than 5 bowling lanes correct? And all 6 kids should be getting $10 FunCard for not playing laser tag correct? Nope, they are not given anything but pizza and drink. Our party coordinator are not taken a good care of us, the arcade card they gave us after the laser tag were not working, only some of the kids that stood out got a replacement cards, kids that were shy were walking around with a card not were not working and left the party disappointed. It was the worst party that I've ever hosted and I felt so bad for my guest. I will never host another party here ever again! read more

Went on a Monday considering there was supposed to be a $10.95 unlimited bowling special. After we paid they tell us it's a hour bowling and once your hour is over than you have to leave your lane and wait on the waiting list until another lane is available. Meaning it's not unlimited. A lot of people won't stay after bowling the first hour and than have to potentially wait another hour before bowling again. I'm sure people don't like being taken advantage of. read more

Front desk is useless, bowling has long wait and then even if you have unlimited they will stop you in the middle of a game. Pool balls you have to get from a bartender that does not greet you and ignores you seeing you have a wristband. Workers who help as your bowling are the only helpful employees there. This location Seems to be a lot better than the one on the North side I don't recall the one on the North side having the balancing walking up in the ceiling activity which the kids loved. Nice big clean game area. A lot of bowling alleys only thing that made me upset is I was there for a birthday party with a bit of a hangover. While the kids were playing their games I went to the bar to grab a quick bloody Mary and the bartenders refused to acknowledge me even taking orders from two people who came down and sat right next to me and still did not even acknowledge me I got up and walked off I probably should have given three stars but this place is nice aside from the service at the bar so I wasn't going to dock Them down just for that. read more

This main event here in Katy was by far the best main event me and my friends have been to! The staff/employee service were very attentive and polite. The manger named Todd was very kind and polite and very attentive as well. He checked on us about our service and everything. Food and drinks were delicious. As far as the the cleanliness. Do not waste your money here. We just moved to Katy and my son wanted to do arcade games for his 14th birthday. We spent $150 on points/cards for games for 5 people. More than half of the games are not functioning correct or they are down because they are broke. I wish I would have known that before spending any money on the cards. Even the machines to get cards does not work properly. Very disappointed and will not return. I'd rather drive further for a better experience. They need to shut down and fix all of the broken games. read more

I got to the restaurant area got seated and NO ONE ever came to wait our table. After 15 minutes I went to go order my own food on the other side. I went to look for someone asked her if I could get silverware and asked another employee to do so as he was wiping a table and he never went to go get us anything. Went here as a chaperone for a Prom lock-in so we were here from 1-5am which means not everything was available. That being said, most of the video games were open for free play but the only food offered was pizza, cookies, and soft drinks. Main Event had laser tag, a ropes course, video games, bowling, and billiards open for free the whole time for everyone. All in all the experience was very positive and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. Me and my friends waited until ONE FOURTYSEVEN for a worker to finally get up and let us on the obstacle course. The second we got onto the course the worker told us to get off. When I said that she was late she denied it. I got off the attraction and got the manager. The manager was very nice but the worker proceeded to lie about what happened. We've been coming here for several years now and it's really gone down. First the food and service. It's like a box of chocolates, you just don't know what you're going to get. Sometimes the food and service is great, other times its horrible. Then the games. The main ones are broken -- seriously with all the money that's spent at this place can't management get someone to fix 'em asap!? Bathrooms - geez the stalls lacked toilet paper! A place that cares about their customers will check bathrooms every couple of hours. Then some of the faucets had no water and the soap dispensers didn't work and only one paper dispenser worked. Such a fun place to bowl and play games. The amount of things to do there is ridiculous. Me and my cousins came to visit family and this was the perfect place to end our trip. We got to play for a few hours and we cannot thank the manager Luis enough for accommodating us with everything we needed. We were all nervous seeing this big place for the first time and he made us feel more than welcomed. He treated us like family and took time to explain all of the attractions and gave us the best options for one of our best family outings. 10/10 Stars for Luis. read more

I went their with my kids. It was the school event day recently. It was suppose to start at 5pm. I went their at 445pm. I asked the employee (Tammy) if I can drop him(12 yr old)off here and take my daughter(5yr old)for her swim class that was at 530pm. She said yea no problem drop him off. I asked her if I need to sing him up or sign a waiver or something she said NO. I left at 450. I get a call from my sons principal at 515pm that I have to sign him up for the event and he cannot play if I don't come back. I asked if I can come later after my daughter's swim class. I was told no. I had to come back and my daughter couldn't go to her swim lesson. It was so frustrating that Tammy didn't know what she was saying. And I talked to her when I went back and the manager didn't do anything. Very bad experience overall. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

We held our sons birthday party yesteday, 2/20 at 1:30 To start, our party hostess disappeared multiple times, took over 30 minutes to receive the kids drinks, we made due. Even though the parts is only for 2 hours. We had to get our own shoes for bowling, the hostess was nowhere to be found as kids showed up. We make it to the arcade portion of the party, we should have had 10 20$ game cards, and 10 20$ fun cards, never recieved the "fun cards" the hostess said they were the same thing as the game cards, I confirmed they were not. 1/2 the arcade games were broken, it would take your money, but wouldn't play, brought it up to 2 different managers, not one person put a out of order sign on the broken games. I actually watched as more people in front of the managers had there money stolen on the broken games. None of this was resolved. I spent over 600$ between the bar, food, party, and purchasing extra game cards. For a garbage ass corporate facility to just steal money. I been here about 10 times now, usually on a Friday morning or Wednesday night. I go for the bowling and the bowling only and the only reason I have been going here is for the all you can bowl $10 wristband deal, which gets you more then bowling but I am just not interested in the other items. From a bowling point of view the lanes are nice the equipment is nice (I have my own ball but their stuff isn't beat up yet). The lanes only get conditioned/oiled at midnight which is not good if you take your bowling seriously. Understanding this place is for the average person to bowl on I can live with the lane conditioning situation. Less oil means more average Joe's can bowl there and actually hit pins. The lights are very distracting. Black lights and colored lights on the lanes and pins that change colors even during the day. IMO a bowler should be bowling with the regular lights on. Here are the things I can not live with. The front counter staff like others have said are inexperienced, SLOW, none helpful and mostly young. In all the times I have been there bowling for 2-3 hours and being maybe 1 or 6 lanes in use I have had the waitress come up to me maybe one or two times. All the other times I was passed over clearly seeing them serving other lanes. I will also add that I have bowled in there for hours at a time and had the lane next to me sitting with dirty dishes. Considering all the staff standing around I find this unacceptable. I have heard the leagues are having trouble getting started. The last thing I have seen a few times is the bowlers approach to the line is often dirty. Seeing as I have arrived at opening time (so I can use any of the conditioning from the 12pm oil laying, if it hasn't already evaporation) I would expect that all this area would had been swept and mopped. Instead I find pizza sauce and other types of food all over the place. This stuff sticks to your shoes and messes up your game. No excuse for dirty areas at opening time IMO. All that said if you want to take your family there you will have a good time. The pizza is actually really good. My advice to the staff/company - Reserve some lanes for bowlers who have their own gear. Oil these lanes 2-3 times a day, turn the lights on for them, keep the area clean, train your staff to be helpful and quick. read more

I had an old school hang out with an old classmate here and I didn't know what to expect. It's actually a nice set up in this place, although arguably over-priced compared to anywhere I've been. I would say its great for ages 5-18ish and at night the adults would appreciate it more. We bought wristbands for unlimited laser tag and bowling since bowling was $19 an hour with $3.50 shoe rentals and laser tag was $8 an hour (unsure on this one). The wristbands came out to $35 for two of them. There is a full bar in this place with TVs and tables and at least 10 pool tables!!! Pool prices vary on day of the week but I believe it was $8/hr & $14/hr for weekend and weekday, respectively. I'm used to paying $8 for all night pool play but I guess it's the atmosphere of the place that you're paying for. Laser tag was great fun and those little kids really kicked my butt man! I thought I'd do great but there was always that tiny human hiding on the stairs that would get me over and over. They have an arcade at the back with some pretty high tech games, some iPhone arcade games, and some air hockey tables as well as a ropes course thing.. They do serve food, beer, cocktails , etc... So the parents can 'play' while the kids play. The children were having loads of fun so if your child is between 5-14ish I'd think to look here for a birthday party event. So Im a native Houstonian who grew up in the era of Astroworld / Hannah Barbera Land / Fame City / the Dave & Buster's Original location on Richmond. That being said, it's pretty tough for modern-day Houston to impress me in the family entertainment realm. Don't get me wrong, it's a new, clean, spacious establishment, but something about it, maybe the layout, just doesn't flow and the workers were really not that friendly on a late Saturday night. It was our first time there and an hour before close and none of the workers wanted to accomodate us in the laser tag or bowling area. And we were wiling to pay!!They were even going to charge us the full $34/hr PLUS SHOE RENTAL for 30-45mins of bowling. Like who does that? I'll stay on my side of town and go to D&B's. Well if it's a busy night, you'll be waiting for awhile to get a bowling lane or laser tag. This is probably the 2nd time I've been to a bowling alley that had an almost full bar. I say almost because I asked for a Jameson & Ginger and they didn't have Ginger Ale. What kind of bar doesn't have ginger ale?! The bar service was annoying slow and the bartender somehow forgot about me as he started to get a drink order from someone who just stood there 10 minutes while I was there for almost 1/2 hour. This establishment personifies Satan in all of its business practices. Ok that was too far but now I have your attention. They regularly hold private parties and do not notify patrons that hours are regularly changing. My buddy and I wanted to play a friendly game of pool and the hours said they close at 2:00am. We arrived at 10:30pm expecting to get in a few games of pool and a couple adult beverages. We set up the game, which we paid for, bought a round of drinks, and assumed all was normal. Then abruptly at 11:05 a main event associate told us we needed to leave and that they were closed for 5 minutes already. He started to put our pool balls up and took out drinks away from us. Not only were we treated poorly but we were never told that they would close early. They let us waste money on drinks and pool we didn't even get to finish. They were not apologetic but completely rude. They acted like we were making it hard for them. This is a terrible way to run a business and I will never come here again read more

I'm struggling to give a 4 star review. Ample parking and easy to locate from the 10 freeway! I came on a Saturday evening. All the bowling lanes, pool tables and bar were full. Great social spots for parties, friends and couples. I didn't make it past the bar as I only came for drinks. The 4 star is because the waiters struggle to serve big crowed as and the drinks are very sweet. Too much mixer. I tired the mango Long Island and the Jack Daniels honey drink. The bar area has nice size tabs for watching the game and a vast variety of liquor choices. I'll be back to try them out during the week. read more

This place is ok but the Bacon burger tasted like plastic. We bought the fun pass and waited over 2.5 hours to bowl and 1 hour to laser tag and then had to wait another hour for the rope course. Got a pager for pool and never went off. Came from Dallas to visit family and we pretty much sat down and talked (could have done that at home for free). So I had an Adult birthday (28th) party here this past Friday. Everyone had fun. In Houston, you also have D&B further down I10, and you been to several other party places in town. I have to say this Main Event is by far the cleanest I've been to. It might be because it's newer than others, or maybe they have a staff that actually does their job. But it's clean. Party was at 8pm, Friday on the summer. It isn't roaming with tons of kids like you'd think. The music and atmosphere wasn't that loud at all. You could hear the music on the system, you could still have a conversation with someone next to you. Now if you wanted to talk to someone across the table, you might have to speak up just a little bit. Bowling lanes (that's the package A party, 2 hours of bowling) was fun. And things you expect at usual. It was fun, people rarely not have fun while bowling right? If you just roll out the ball down the lane, you'll like it. If you bowl with a spin, you'll need to adjust your game a bit. The wax/coating on the lane is a little low just before the pins, so you'll put your spin down the lane and roll off into the gutter just before contact. LOL, but that's part of the fun, but that's a head-up. Food: Big point of the party. Did the tailgate package, So burgers, brats and dogs. Chips and dips of queso, spinach, or salsa. The cheese and spinach dip was good. Hot dogs were made well, you can't screw up hot dogs right? Brats were nice. Burgers, had the flattop kind of taste, but still nice. Cheese for burgers was nice, not your cheap singles like the market, nice slices of swiss, cheddar or american. The buns were a bit hard/dry/stale. They weren't great but serviceable. If had to do it again, I'd would choose the 'causal night out' with the boneless chicken and build your own tacos and sliders. I think that set of meal is more bowling friendly. lol. No soft drinks for the package, water and ice tea. You can buy a fountain drink with re-fills all night at the pizza place. Staff: Attentive and friendly. I dealt mostly with those in the black vest, not any of the blue polo staff. The event person or manager was friendly and checked up on us a few times. We had a cake, they provided us the cutlery and plates, no problem. They helped the food, took our photo, got us anything that we needed. I couldn't complain. We had to wait a little bit for them to bring our checks after we put down payment (i assume they got busy). We chilled around after, so it wasn't a biggie. Just an observation. It's not a bad place to have a party. I would do it again. 10 people minimum for a party, you need 24 hours to change/reduce number going. Had reservation for 12, only 10 showed up, 2 backed out last minute. So that is a bummer to pay for 2 people that never came! lol. They have a bar, plenty of adult drinks. After dark the kids kind of disappear. It's cleaner than the place down the road. In Katy, or west houston. If you need to have a bowling night of fun, I'd say hit it up here. It's easier to group fun here with 4 or more people than Top Golf (which is another great adult fun place). I'd recommend to try it out. read more
