Very poor service, we have been waiting in the dine in area for 30 minutes and nobody came to help. My wife then went to find someone and she snapped at her saying she is the only one working and will be right there. There are only 4 table's in use no excuse for a poor attitude and slow service. I can promise you we will not be back for anything. We told her we were ready to order and she dropped off menus and left. Order the pretzel it huge and sure to feed a crowd! By far the best value in the menu. Other food is good pizza is ok for a group, nothing too exciting on to the menu. As an entertainment venue it is s good, clean, safe place in Independence. It gets really busy on weekends and is pricey. Make sure you reserve bowling lanes as soon as you arrive on the weekends! There is bowling, arcade, laser tag, high ropes, billiards and Shuffle board. Pricing is a little crazy especially if everyone doesn't want to do the same things. 3 hours of unlimited games, etc for @$28 per person will keep teens busy for 3 hours. Bowling is $36 per hour plus shoes. There are some off peak prices earlier in the day as well. It's worth a go. Hint: they were running a gift card special buy $100 get $40 to use later. Been here twice and if it wasn't for this free game card I probably won't be back. (I'm 28 with no kids soo) First trip was for a company party. Went great I didn't have to pay for a single thing. Couldn't get a drink though so that was upsetting but yeah. Free game card for a couple hours of unlimited play. No tickets to get a prize. The entire place was closed for us. Food was good. Bowling was fun. Staff were great and attentive. The thing to walk the plank near the ceiling is fun and surprisingly scary if u don't like heights. I like the fact there is so much to do here but as an adult it's a bit awkward. The bar doesn't really feel real adultish to me. Drinks were not really strong but creative I give them that. For adults with children definitely. Bring the kids for games and drink within a good distance. read more

We just came to MainEvent for my husbands birthday for him and the kids to play in the arcade. The activities promo was not valid for the arcade as expected. We ended up buying a $40 game card, and quickly realized their arcade games 'cost' SOOO much more per game than is expected and as compared to going to Dave & Busters. The same exact games were twice as many credits at MainEvent. So we spent more on the card for the amount of credits and blew through them faster than we ever would have at Dave & Busters, who also has far better promos as well! Horrible experience and wouldn't recommend. They have staff just wondering around and no one is working. 2 1/2 hour wait to bowl so we sat at a table to order food and drinks. Took 20 min to get a waitress, took 30 more minuets to get water and soda. We got the food before we got our bar drinks and the food was wrong. They tried to fix the order and 25 min later again brought a completely wrong order again. Offered to fix it again and we decided to cancel the order because it had been so long. Then we get the check and they tried to charge us for the two wrong orders!! Now we had to wait an additional 25 min to get the check fixed. Once we got to bowl the service on the lanes was worse. So we got there 2 hours before our bowling reservation and spent the first 45 min getting our game cards as the only other free machine was busted. We got to our two bowling lanes. the kids next to us kept bowling in our lanes. after asking the staff to help us out, we got an "oh sorry". 45 min into our hour, we still hadn't see a waitress. she offered us free to go sodas and a bunch of excuses. we had to track down the manager, who took his time. if you're looking for a place to play video games this might be that, but not if you want to do more. Hannah and Rachel were phenomenal the day of my birthday. It was mainly an Adult party with a few kids, but we were accommodated well. I enjoyed working with Hannah to ensure my guests were taken care of and the food was delicious. We truly enjoyed the variety of the selection as well as the bowling. My parents were older, my sister pregnant, and my friend had a baby so they didn't participate in laser tag, but the staff was so accommodating in allowing us to sit at the bowling lanes while the rest of the party did laser tag. My 40 something year old son went for his birthday. He took his kids with him, and asked me to bring my grandson (his 8 yr old nephew). I did drop my grandson off, but I left. I already had a headache, so I left. But, when i left, my son and the kids were having a ball. Oh, but Bowling was $15 per person. He had his twins and other 3 children with him, plus his nephew. Needless to say, the place is not as family friendly as it presents. The games were okay for the kids. But they couldn't afford to bowl. Oh, the twins are only 4 years old...yep wanted $15 per kid. After a couple of visits I can same that I'm impressed. Both times we went were peak kid periods...weekend nights. I have to admit, I'm surprised. In both visits, the food was far beyond my expectations. BUT... don't go here if you're expecting a great dining experience. It's loud. It's busy. The staff is young and inexperienced. If you keep that in mind, you'll be OK. Get the house made chips to munch on, they are really good. The pizza is great as well. My wife had a chicken dish of some sort and she really enjoyed it. She and my son also split some wings and they said that they were really well done. Now, for the rest...it's a crazy play area. I think the bowling is over-priced so we stayed away from that, but if you're looking for a place where the kids can run around and play some games, you can kill a couple of hours in here. I had a great time. I've been looking to check this place out for a while. But have held back because of the poor reviews and, maybe because of the low expectations I was pleasantly surprised. And with our 7 year old nephew in town, it seemed like a good place to tire him out. We visited in a Wednesday evening, and the place was relatively empty. The easiest comparison to draw is to Dave and Buster's. There's a large bar area with about 6 pool table, a bowling alley, laser tag, arcade games, and the gravity ropes. We paid $17 for an all you can play pass (unlimited laser tag, bowling, and Gravity Ropes), plus $3 dollars for the shoes. I feel like we got our money's worth, 3 games of bowling, and 3 15-minute games of laser tag. I skipped on the Gravity Ropes (you just walk around on a tight rope with a harness, the kids seemed to like it). During our time bowling we had dinner, which was good. The burgers were good and "beefy", nothing to brag about, but not terrible and the portions were generous. Service a bit slow, maybe a little understaffed on a slow week night, but our server was great! I would definitely return, but would watch out for busy nights as that seems to be when issues arise. read more

No. Just noooooo. I would give zero stars if I could. What a disaster. ALL of the employees are rude and not at all helpful. Had a skee ball machine only give me 2 balls. Walked over to tell someone about it, response I got was "oh...yeah... that ones supposed to have 4 balls actually. But only 2 come out so just keep using those over and over." Really, I'm paying $1 a game, vs most places only charging .25 a game, and I only get to use 2 balls. Went with a friend, paid for a $20 card, had to pay $5 just for the stupid thing itself,figured that would last us 30 min or so. 10...lasted us 10 minutes. Games range from $1-to I think $2.60...for one 45 second game. Are you freaking kidding me?!!!!!! Talk about a rip off. Was so excited but will never come back. The gaming is alright; it's not as expansive as Dave n' Buster's. The food was adequate, but is priced just a bit higher than a reasonable price point. It's mostly burgers and pizza. I had a burger; 5oz of "angus" beef, but is not cooked to order for $11.49. I'm almost 100% sure it was a frozen, pre-seasoned patty- not acceptable at that price. We had won a gift certificate for a free hour of bowling and a free hour of arcade. There were 5 of us, 4 adults and one 4-year old. The bowling was fun. Had a great time. When we picked up our cards for the arcade they did not tell us at that time that we wouldn't be able to get any prizes. I get the premise and if they had said something ahead of time we could have told the 4-year old that we were not going to get any prizes. They didn't and we had to explain to a 4-year old that he wouldn't get a prize for the big jack pot where he "won" 1000 tickets. When I talked to them about it they were just like "Oh, well. My friends and I wanted to spend time together out of school, we wanted to do bowling but we figured that playing bowling over and over again was pretty lame. So we thought of Main Event Entertainment! Honestly the best idea EVER!! We got unlimited play in activity and arcade. So we had OPTIONS! There was bowling, laser tag, arcade games, etc. We ended up eating there and the waiter was amazing! He was a nice, respectful, young man probably around his late teens/early 20s. The bathrooms are kept nice and clean. They also have hand sanitizers around the arcade area. I would definitely go back! read more

I don't know how this place stays in business. It's over priced and if you want to bowl or play video games others do it better. My wife wanted to go because we had gift cards, but our last 2 experiences were terrible. Service for food has always been an issue. Now they don't even have waiters. You just order off a tablet at the table. That sounds good considering their terrible service, but nobody had a clue on who was in charge of our food and when we got it we ask for some extra plates. The server or whatever you want to call him never returned. We had to go to the bar to get some. Speaking of the bar, you can't order alcohol when you place your food order so you have to go to the bar to place those. This was at 5:00 on a Sunday. They were not busy. We bowled and ordered food and drinks, not once in and hour had we been checked on nor brought refills, once it was brought to the attention of a manager he assured us that we would have new drinks very soon, they still took another 30 minutes. I had a birthday party with 30 people and Scott the manager made sure everything was great. My 2 servers Anthony and Kim (in training) were attentive and timely. I was very impressed with the service I received. Again this was a pre-paid, pre-booked birthday party. I will definitely be back. All of my guest had a wonderful time. The food is bar, Bowling alley food, but it's not terrible. We had the total tailgate buffet that came with our package. I would give the food 3.5 stars and drinks 4 stars. The service here is pretty bad. All of the tables are self-set, which is fine, but we had to wait 15 minuets for a server to come to our table and then another 15 minuets for our drinks. They messed up our bowling reservation, but did give us 3 free pairs shoes. The lanes weren't greased and the computer kept skipping turns. Not worth the money. We then ordered drinks at the lane, but had to wait 30 minutes for our beers to come. It would have been faster to just walk to the bar and order them ourselves. read more

I finally used the passes that were sent to me today. Everything was great. We were able to bowl some games with no issues, shoot pool and they offered chalk. We were able to get into the lazer tag and play games. We had a lot of fun and the staff was very friendly and helpful. By the way, we went to the location north. No complaints and high reviews. WOW!! Should have read the reviews first, but we really wanted to give them a fair chance. 1. Rating the regular restaurant food on its merit (not the pizza place), I would give them a 5/5. Food taste was really good, BUT, value is terrible! Three small fish fillets, small amount of fries, and 1 ounce of coleslaw for $11.95. Boneless "wings" and fries, $12.95. 10" pizza for $12.95. Bacon cheddar burger $12.95. Mini-quesadilla appetizer for $8.95. Fountain drinks for $3 and we didn't see our server after our food was delivered so drink refills weren't an option. Food taste was great, just pricey!! 2. Service was crappy. It wasn't that busy when we got there, but by the time we left it was a ZOO (9:10p)! Items we asked for never came to the table. She said she asked "them" to bring ranch, but it never arrived. The manager came by and asked how we were doing, but he didn't say anything when we told him about the service. Not even a, "Sorry about that." NOTHING. Maybe he's tired of hearing it and I can certainly see why he keeps hearing it. 3. ARCADE: Games are all different prices up to $2.50!! That's INSANE! We are talking about something that takes 20-35 seconds and it's $2.50!! Skee ball only had 4 balls, and one of them even had the balls wedged in the target. Additionally, we earned game cards with our meal purchase but they don't tell you they can only be used on certain games/activities. They can NOT be used on the sky walk, laser tag, etc. People need to be aware of that. The workers in this area were overwhelmed with co plaint while we were standing there with the Skeeball issue. 4. BOWLING: $36/person for a HOUR?!?! PLUS SHOES?!?! Didn't even bother! Sorry, Main Event, not a fan. We purchased 3 hr Unlimited Play Passes 3 at $28 ea to occupy our time while waiting over 2 hrs to bowl. We quickly learned that we can't play any of the games that give prizes and some others limited how many times we could play in a row. Expressed frustration about this not being explained before spending $90 and were told "sorry" but no refund. Meantime, waiting a long time to bowl even though several lanes are not in use. Also, Activities and games are challenging with winter coats, scarves, etc to carry around. read more
