retro little spot in independence, it reminded me a lot of the bowling alley I went to growing up. they have a pretty full bar and food menu, plus a pool table and arcade games in the back room. Each lane has a big screen at the end, so it's probably an awesome place to catch a game, especially if it's during the happy hour from 4 to 6. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Compared to other bowling alleys in the area, the prices were very reasonable. read more

Diamond Bowl & Billiards - Bowling Near Me - Independence, Missouri

Went here for a date night. It was very fun and well priced. Drinks were good. Location was clean and not super crowded.

My group of 8 came in during a weekend around 1pm so it was pretty dead which was great for us! Plenty to do with pool/arcades/darts/etc. even though the bowling wasn't yet open. The food we ordered was good, and they had a great variety of drinks. Great spot to kill a few hours with friends, and the staff was very friendly!! read more

recently took the train to independence, from reno. diamond bowl was one of our stops. the service, drinks and bowling were all top notch. prices in comparison, are very reasonable, if not a little less than. the arcade room that they have in a connected space, is outstanding. pool, darts, pinball....if we lived there, we would hang out there. thanks for a great afternoon! read more

Came for the bowling, had so much fun-- and the burger was worth coming back for alone ! Several families and couples showed up for bowling -- and the billiards were also utilized. Looking forward to returning read more

This is Independence's version of an upscale bowling alley and they do an all right job of it. When you enter you'll walk through a bar / lounge area that includes a shoe rental space and then you'll walk up to the lanes. It's a standard bowling alley with a digital scoreboard and lanes painted up as pop art retro-ish versions of some of our past presidents. Don't worry, Harry Truman is included along with W, Slick Willy and Tricky Dicky. There's a party room area off to the side as well. The food menu was a bit basic and features your regular bar food options. The drink menu is fairly similar. I think if you stick with the basics then you'll do fine, but honestly this place isn't about the food or the craft cocktails, it's all about having a good time and enjoying the experience. I stopped by for a work party so I'm not privy on the regular lane rentals or what it takes to plan a party, but I did have a good time and I would probably stop by more often if I hung out in the area. read more

The chicken tenders were really good. But the service was seriously slacking. It was us and another table and we waited forever for our food, saw it sitting in window for awhile too. The server didn't really pay attention at all, and the bartender didn't seem to want to help run food. The server forgot to ring in our fries and we were pretty much done when they finally came out. It got little busier when we were about done and people started to come in to bowl. Seemed like a fun place, but at certain times on the weekend there needs to be more staff. read more

Brought a work party here and the drinks were warm and watered down. Good being delivered was ok but not given to people just sat on a table. Beer was warm and whole place had weird vibes. read more

As a recent resident of Independence, MO. I was invited to Play pool at the Diamond Bowl. My first visit was unimpressive, the service was terrible, food was ok though...but again...the service??? Very dissapointed!! I had the opportunity to go again, and Due to the first visit, I was reluctant. However, what a surprise!! We were taken care of really well!!! The food was still good..in fact, the chef even asked us how it was and if there was anything she could have done better...really?? A pool hall and they cared??? Totally impresssd!! There was a recent management change, he even came and introduced himself to us, James, which was again.... awesome!! I think he may just be why things are turning around at the Diamond Bowl!! They were very attentive and will definatelly go back with friends and family!!! Thanks Diamond Bowl for being a great family friendly Place to go!!! read more

This is a really cool place to have in the square! Bowling, pool tables, arcade games, food, and a bar with a very friendly staff. I would recommend this to any who is a fan of classic lanes. read more

Bowling is fun! Easy parking. Beers and food are good. We received prompt service on a Friday night.

This place has so much potential yet they don't go towards it. The wait for food took forever, and then they get the order wrong. It's not the first time this has happened either. Don't get me wrong staff is very friendly. I won't give up hope for this place because it's independence and I like to support locally. Just needs work. read more

Had a great time with the family. Nice music not too loud. Good parking. Good food. Just a great Friday night with the family read more

Diamond Bowl & Billiards - Little man could not find shoes in his size - Bowling Near Me - Independence, Missouri

I'll make this short and sweet... young staff needs better training... waited while bartender took a call on her cell phone to find out they were out of pitchers for beer!?? Lanes kept setting after first throw so if u want three shots a frame it's a plus. Staff was not helpful at all when balls wouldn't come back. they were booked on lane reservations till 10 pm when at 6:15 they had 5 lanes open... our hour ended at 6 and we would have been more than willing to wait a 20 minute window and take the place of a no show... I won't be going back!! We left after our hour and went to another alley. read more

I recently moved to northern Independence and was looking for a pool hall. I found Diamond Bowl with a friend. We were treated horribly! We decided it was worth a second try, and again, horribly! The food was great both times though. We went back a third time (knowing what to expect) and felt an immediate change. We were greeted and taken care of from start of this new experience. We've been there weekly since. James seemed to have been the big difference. I now bring friends and family and suggest this place to all. I now feel like i have a local "Spot". Thanks for the turn around as we almost gave up. Bondo read more

This placed looked great and promising when we walked in, however, service is TERRIBLE!! If you want a drink it'll take at least 10 mins even when your the only one in the place like us! I walk up to the bar with 6 people behind it and 2 other customers take 5 mins to get their attention. Only positive is the food. AC was broke or they are just too cheap to keep their customers happy, asked multiple times to move it from 77 to 72 or around that, NEVER happened, ultimately go elsewhere. read more

My daughter was playing in a VB tournament not far from this location. After getting eliminated from the tournament I was looking for a place to catch the last part of the USA - Canada hockey game. Not being from this area I pretty much drove aimlessly towards the downtown area and spotted this place. I figured they had to have a TV and maybe even a cold beer. I was pleasantly surprised. This is what I consider a old-style bowling alley. Few lanes and friendly people (and I was even sporting one of my Jayhawk sweatshirts). After the disappointment of the overtime loss we got to talking with one of the bar staff and learned that they recently did a complete overhaul of the facility. The old floor from lane 10 is now tops the bar. A scan of the bowling area noted everything from families to the 20 somethings. All appeared to be having a great time. We were not going to eat there but I did a scan of the menu and saw sloppy joes proudly listed. I will definitely be going back to try them. read more

Normally bowling places annoy me (always busy, long waits, hoards of annoying children, etc) but I had a great experience last night at Diamond Bowl. I was surprised at how small this place is (8 lanes, a small bar, and one pool table), but I think that just made it better. I highly recommend making a reservation for a lane. The rate was $30/hr per lane (regardless of how many people you have) which if you have 5 or 6 people per lane makes it incredibly affordable. Instead of those awful plastic chairs/tables that normally are at a bowling alley they had comfortable booths with tables in between. One thing that I loved was that all the balls were separated by weight. No more wandering all around the alley searching for the right ball weight and finding nothing but 6lb or 15lb balls. Drinks were averaged price ($3 for a domestic bottle) and they also had a small menu. My girlfriend and I got some nachos for $7.99. They were ok. The ratio of toppings:chips was a little off. We ended up with a lot of chips that didn't have any cheese on them. But its a bowling alley, not a 5 star restaurant, so my expectations weren't high to begin with. It is a nice change of pace to see a good bowling alley that is family owned and not one of the big chain places full of drunk teenagers. Even in the close quarters all the lanes were filled with friendly people (who only gave me encouragement as I rolled several gutter balls as they rolled strike after strike). I had a blast last night and would not hesitate going back. read more

The service was very slow. Had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks and to turn the AC down. It was an absolute sauna in there! It got warmer and warmer as more people filed in and we were told that they couldn't change the thermostat. Not my favorite place.. read more

First time here and I will be coming back. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff. Food was great and the price is great. We paid for an hour and played two games. We had just a couple frames left of our second game and our hour was up. The staff came to us and told us to finish the game at no extra charge. Customer service and making someone feel welcome is the name of the game these days and the staff at Diamond Bowl gets that. They also take reservations if that is something you want to do. read more

This place sucks. Was told we had to wait till 10 to bowl hung out for 2 hours 10 rolled around and came to find out that the lady lied to us read more

Terrible service. No one wants to work here. They stand around talking & look at their phones.

Clean and comfortable bit a bit pricey. Food is good and staff is friendly.

What ever you do, don't go there for pool. No servers attend to the pool table area at all. If you want drinks or food you will have to go to the bar to place your order. Then you will need to walk over to the bar to check if your food is ready. The food menu is pretty limited. My burger was overcooked and wasn't hot since they didn't bring it to me when it was ready. It could be a decent place with better management. read more

Place is really comfortable place it is not like most of the bowling alleys that sting of sweat. Definitely an historic history with modern amenities. Wish they has a larger selection of balls but with only 8 lanes I can see why they don't. Always enjoy coming back. read more

I think this place is ridiculous they have bowling and a pool hall attached. They all of a sudden changed it to 21 and over in the pool which is just stupid. My family has been there lots of times to play pool and all of a sudden you gotta be 21 well then it should be that way on the bowling side to there's alcohol on that side to. They need to change it back to 18 and over or this place is going loose a ton of money. read more

After eloping in June, we decided to host our wedding reception here because my husband and I wanted a venue with home-town feel also convenient for our families to attend; and, we enjoyed the significance of the name of the alley, "Diamond Bowl," for such a special event. Although I thought I would be disappointed by limitations of the menu, we were able to order pizzas from Square Pizza - one of our all-time faves - for all of our guests. We chose them to be tastefully displayed in pans and on stands, like they do in the restaurant, versus boxes, and staff was more than pleased to accommodate. The bartenders whipped up our signature drink, ordered alcohol based on our guests' preferences, and helped create quite a centerpiece with our dessert bar. Staff was aimed to please and great to work with. The price was right for the rental, parking was accessible for everyone who attended, and the place was jam-packed with love! Absolutely consider Diamond Bowl for your event of any kind! read more

Waited in line for 45 minutes before we could get 2 lanes, poor service employees were helpless couldn't get the lanes to work just very unhelpful. Only 2 employees were working and they didn't know how to do anything! read more

We had my sister's birthday party here in October. They told my mom she couldn't arrive 10ish minutes early, the guy handing out bowling shoes asked me if one of the little boys was retarded because he wasn't answering him and got annoyed when I told him his hearing aid was turned down low, started our bowling time nefore we even got our shoes, I waited 5 minutes for someone at the bar to let me order the soda for the kids (after trying to get their attention multiple times when they were right in front of me playing on their phones.) When I told them what sodas we wanted the lady behind the bar was extremely rude about it, and acted like I was asking her to do something she was too good for. They tried telling me they didn't have silverware for us when my mom was told we just needed to ask. Our pizza was cold when we got it and we weren't given enough plates, cups, or napkins for our party. Will not be going back. read more

Adorable old fashioned bowling alley with friendly staff. We had a blast!

Great place for bowling, pretty decent sized menu for food, only tried a couple appetizers but was happy with what I got, also they have THE COLDEST Boulevard Wheat beer you will find on draft in KC read more

We tried this place with pretty low expectations and were actually pleasantly surprised. It is a bit of a throw-back alley, only having around 8 lanes. But this also means that it never really gets that crowded. The food is pretty good as far as bowling alley food goes. This is a favorite place of our kids and we enjoy going during the day when it isn't as crowded. Also, they offer discounted rates during the week before 3pm. read more
