The staff here is HORRIBLE!!! From the desk where you pay for laser tag, to the restaurant staff that ignores you in hopes you'll go away instead of seating you. The server was actually great once we sat down. The guys in the pizza place were superb last time we were here as well. However these kids working on a Sunday night have a lot to learn about "work". If they don't get this straightened out, and fast...this place will TANK. We bought the wrist bands and there was a miscommunication on when everything closed. We were pretty frustrated and ended up speaking with the manager about it. Aaron was really nice and took care of us. There is lots of stuff to do here and we had a good time. The bar and wait staff could definitely use some work though. Can I rate a 0?!? I'd like to personally thank Main Event for ruining our New Years Eve. We paid $30/person for a "Adults NYE Package" only to show up and find a ton of kids running around and ended up not even breaking even on the value of the package. I could've gone there and paid ala carte and one of us 4 would've gotten the night for free for the price we paid. My girlfriend started a tab at the bar and 3 minutes to midnight we closed our tab only to find out they didn't have my card. Turns out one of the bartenders had it in his back pocket!!! When I went up to that bartender he just handed it to me, didn't verify my identity or anything before handing a credit card over. We were told the kitchen was closed only to see people being served an hour later and the kitchen running at full service. The lights turned on and off constantly (not part of the night or celebration) and about a third of the games didn't work. Worse value I've ever experienced. This place is a joke. When we walked in they told us there was a 4 hour wait before we could do anything. The laser tag was way to smokey and you could hardly breathe in there, half the arcade games don't work right, the food is gross and it took us asking to speak to a manager for them to do anything about our bowling lane that was messing up. It's way over priced for what's in there and for the machines to be malfunctioning they way they do. The staff is rude, and they act like they don't care. I will never go back. read more

I went there this past Saturday and played a game of pool with my father. Got done playing and servant or bartender told me the total is $4.93. I paid with my credit card and the next day, I check my account and I'm being charged $59.... I called in Sunday, since Saturday we came home late. I called and lady told me the book keeper would contact me with what's going on but I haven't received any phone calls. This location really confused everypne that went, this location also gave out several instances of false information. For instance we went in and asked for information on bowling. They said we had the whole day. This was not the case, they had also said that because we purchased a lot of wristbands that bowling shoes were free this also was a lie. The fact that several employees said the same thing as well as a manager makes me angry. Several employees were rude and overall disrespectful. The games were overpriced if you're playing one at a time, however, I think it's just encouraging people to buy the fun card. We had a blast! First time here and our son had a great time. If was clean and had a lot to do. However, when we got there around 11:30 we waited on line for 20 minutes to purchase a spring fun pass. There was only 1 person at a register and 4 other people just standing around in back of her and not opening another register. The line did get longer behind us as well. We also ordered 1 dessert which took 30 minutes to come out and then took another 25 minutes to get the check to pay after having to ask someone walking by if we could pay so we could leave. We sat waiting for food for 2 hours and hardly anyone served us. Any time they would bring us food (which was hardly at all) they would bring us the wrong food and it also took several people's attention to bring us our drinks and we only asked for water. Arrived on a busy Saturday evening over July 4th weekend. With a change in the weather our outdoor plans were ruined so an impromptu birthday party was planned at Main Event. Our party of 4 adults and 11 kids were sat quickly in the dining area. After waiting nearly 50min at the table we were finally greeted by our waitress. She was obviously busy but did not take drink or food orders and showed little interest in our group. At this point we had a foot out the door when Scott came in to save the day. Scott took an initially horrible experience, turned it around and created return customers. Everyone loved the food, drinks, games, etc... We will be back and if we sit in the dining area again we will be sure to ask for Scott. If Main Event had more employees like him I'm sure everyone rate their experience 4-5 stars. read more

This place is horrible! They are not organized and the employees do not know how to do their jobs. The employees were talking to each other (having casual conversations) while they had people waiting to pay. This is also how the lasertag cashiers were. The food is way too over priced for the portions they give and there was almost a 3 hr wait for laser tag when they have 15 min games. It shouldn't take that long to rotate in. Went to the Main Event in Kansas City North for the summer special of 12.95 for unlimited bowling, pool and laser tag. We arrived at 9:30 am and bought the unlimited item. We started bowling we only were allowed to bowl two games which lasted for 40 minutes. We were told they only allow bowling for 30 minutes each session. I will say have been to other Main Events and it has been an hour. We were also forced to provide credit card for pool even though we had wrist bands for the unlimited items. When we tried to go to Laser tag we were told out unlimited expired. Now the unlimited is suppose to be good until 5pm and this was around noon. I would make sure if you do any of these items you take a picture of the offer and report it to corporate if you can. read more

THIS BUSINESS MODEL SUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE REDONE CORPORATE NEEDS TO FIX THIS OR YOU'LL GO OUT OF BUSINESS My family and I went here for New Year's, and it was a complete disappointment and waste of time. If I could give it a zero out of five in the rating, I would. First off they had set up a package of customers, consisting of a card allowing unlimited access to the arcade within a given time-frame, bowling, and laser tag. To begin, the unlimited access to the arcade was very deceiving, as you could only play perhaps a 1/3 of the gimmicky games there. You don't even win tickets, but I did not really expect that to be given anyhow. I believe the concept was that you are allowed to just enjoy the pleasure of games in the arcade, but it's hard when the majority of them that you can play are not even interesting or worth getting onto. The wait times were absolutely ridiculous for laser tag and bowling. My family couldn't get into laser tag, but after FOUR hours we finally got a lane to bowl, but only for 45 minutes when the building shut off all of the lanes and basically was closing the place down. The whole building is just outfitted wrong. I've opened business buildings and trained people and I could just tell that something was very wrong with the place. It's like they're attempting to outfit too many forms of entertainment into one place, but it's failed to do so in many aspects. The whole experience seemed like just a huge facade, or charade. There was so much wasted space in the building, and I expected that the whole width of the place would be for bowling but they only installed TWENTY ONE LANES. They also added some useless tightrope walking attraction twelve or fifteen feet or so above the arcade, but realistically it's just childish, and only a total moron with money to waste would actually pay to do it. It's not exciting at all. There was also water leaking from the ceiling, probably from ice damage from the cold that was dripping into the arcade. It possibly could've been a fire-hazard or slip-hazard, because it was also dripping onto the smooth arcade floor and also onto the tight-rope beams that I think people were walking across. My father informed someone, but nothing came of it. Someone is just looking to get sued. Looking at the arcade machine prices to everything on the menu - they just want your money, and it seems they'd rather sacrifice good quality service for their guest's wallets. Whoever thought of putting the pizzeria inside of there needs to be replaced. In fact, whoever drew up the blue prints and equipped the building needs to be simply fired. There was so much potential in this, but it is so messed up the business is just going to bleed money and some serious re-planning is going to need to be done. Based on observation, employees weren't trained very well, and some looked clueless in operating the POS system for the bar. One employee even asked for another to come over to figure out how it worked. I had a simple fish and chips dish, but for about ten dollars you only get three pieces and I received about ten fries on the plate. For that much I could buy a buffet at a grocery store honestly. Poor portioning. The managers appeared very apathetic, and I could just tell they're being paid much more than they should earn in reflection to how poorly the place is being ran. There was only one manager there, who I think had closer ties to corporate, who in a small discussion agreed that everything that was planned and laid out including the customer packages/bundles was poorly done, and knew that a lot of customers were pissed off tonight. As for myself, my family and I are not going to return there probably ever again, including as many I know as well who I can inform. I expect a mountain of more reviews like mine will follow in the next coming year if this place continues to operate the way it does right now. read more

Came to shoot some pool. Nowhere to set your things, jacket, purse, nowhere to even put your drinks down. No chalk. Tables already in poor condition. Bartenders were unhelpful and when we tabbed out of our table 15 minutes later after not playing any pool, they still charged us without ever asking what was wrong. read more

We went to Main Event twice in the past month and the experience was terrible. Do not understand why we had to be placed on a wait list to play pool when there were two unoccupied pool tables. We waited an hour and gave up. While waiting in the bar at a table, no server ever came to our table for a drink or food order. The bartender was not very friendly when we inquired about our time spent waiting for a pool table. We attempted to bowl but was informed the wait time would be at least two hours. This is ridiculous. I called the next morning and voiced my concerns with a manager and that manage did absolutely nothing about my dissatisfaction. Will we be back? No way! read more
