We are a family of video game players, board game players and arcade game players. When we go out of town, we always look for a new arcade to try out. For less than $10 a person, you can play all the old arcade games that you used to play as a kid;unlimited. This is the best deal we have had, since they don't put a time limit on it. Some of the games didn't work but most of them did. They had a great selection - not 60 like they claim and no shooting games . The specialty entrees were good, better than normal bar food but not the best I've had. The ultimate bean dip was not seasoned in the slightest and I've had better mozzarella sticks everywhere else. The bbq wings were nothing to write home about. The chicken nuggets were okay - fries were not. (Maybe if they were crispier). The burger was amazing and cooked perfectly. The tater tots were the right crispness and didn't have too much salt. This was the best part of our meal. I expected this establishment to be way louder, and I'm sure it can get that way but at 2pm it wasn't too bad. The establishment was clean and the bathrooms were the best I've seen "EVER" in a bar. The server seemed busy but was attentive enough and got our orders right. Draft Cade is known for their draft beers on tap and have a decent selection of specialty drinks. We arnt able to drink (I have epilepsy) so I don't know if they were good or not but other patrons raved about them (about 60 types to try from) I gave this place 4 stars because of the foods not being seasoned that much. We came here for Father's Day. Perk was that fathers played free. So we spent about 35$ for 4 people on all you can play. There isn't a lot for games. It was fine, but I was honestly done within 30 minutes. We ordered a Dr Pepper, it wasn't good. Not enough syrup and the drink looked like an ice tea. Typical bar food, we didn't try any but from the look of it, didn't look like it was anything spectacular. This place checks a lot of boxes: fun arcade games, childhood nostalgia, a great selection of beers on tap, family friendly (but the kind of place adults actually want to hang out), reasonably priced, and a relaxed atmosphere. This place is a lot of fun, and one big selling point for me is how much easier it is to navigate than some of the other concepts in town. There's more space, no "one in one out" lines, and a chill vibe. Having experiences + bars is always a winning combo, and I brought my buddy up here after being introduced from a Yelp event. Here's how it works: Duckpin Bowling is a blast (and this is the only one in town) It's $5 per game, or $30 to rent the lane for an hour. Check in with the bartender to get all coordinated. Even though I can't get a strike to save my life, this is really addicting; it's like bowling but the ball is more like an oversized bocce ball. There's definitely a technique, but I'm the wrong person to try to teach it. The arcade is a great deal as it was only $4 for all we could play. I believe it's $7 on Thursday-weekend. While all the old-school games and pinball are fun, they don't call me as much as the pop-a-shot, skee-ball, football toss, and the like. There's something about the old-school nature of those, combined with the mini-challenge of trying to top each round that makes me instantly hooked. Beer menu is also really strong here, and the food is bar food. I tried a quesadilla with sriracha in it that was fine but nothing to write home about. All in all, this is a really fun space in Zona Rosa that brings a cool factor to the area. For me, it's a ways from home, but if you find yourself up north often I'd recommend making this a regular in the rotation. read more

I love video arcades. I was there in the 1980's when they were all first run games, in my cheap jean jacket and matching acid-wash jeans and for a year in 1985, all my allowance went into a place called the "Video Playground" in Toronto. I am a regular visitor to the Up-Down and am one of the few people that go for the games. The problem that I had been experiencing was that that they don't rotate the games so after a while the games get stale. Draftcade is nowhere near me. For me, Zona Rosa is a place that I pass by on the way to the airport. So for me to take the 30 miles to get there, it must be a destination zone. The good thing about Draftcade is that it is a wide variety of games. Not sure how much they rotate them (since it's my first time there) but they have much more variety than the Up-Down. They have an "All you can play for $7" but I saw people playing there without a paying so I'm not sure how they enforce it. I would prefer the "play by the quarter" setup that you get at Up-Down. Their beer choices are pretty good and their prices are at market rates and unlike my reference place, they have a full menu of food, which I did not try. The reason why it got three stars is because many of the games were not working properly. One of my favorite games of all time is Robotron 2084 and one of the buttons were barely working. This was the same with other games where a button would not work or a joystick would not point in one direction. This kills the game. The pinball machines were in the same condition, two of the 8 were not working and two others had bad paddles. The reality is that there isn't a GREAT arcade bar in KC. The Up-Down has similar problems, but I love the carnival atmosphere there to forgive some of the games not working properly. Here, at Draftcade, it was much more empty and also with kids being allowed it, it seemed less adult (and more annoying). read more

Went here on a weekend night for dinner & drinks. I really love arcade bars and was excited to see one while in Zona Rosa. After walking in I realized that to play the games you had to buy a $7 wristband (the usual arcade bars I go to, the games after if you purchase a drink @ the bar). Well my friend and I just proceeded to grab food and drinks since we were starving. There is a limited food menu (bar snacks and and burgers/ sandwiches). There is a hefty selection of beers on draft though I got the house burger with fried leeks, Boursin cheese and garlic mayo. I was reallllly disappointed. First of all: there were basically no fried leeks on the burger. There was one small stringy brown/burnt "leek" that was hidden in the cheese glob. The fries that came with the burger also wasn't great, and they charged me $$ for the mayo that was suppose to come with my burger anyways...... Overall not the best experience, but if you're in the area and need a quick drink may not be a bad place for that read more

They have classic arcade games to help relive your childhood. PAC Man, Skee Ball, Pin Ball and Nintendo 64 games to name a few. They have a large bar with a large variety of beers, cocktails and drinks available. I really enjoyed their twist on a Bloody Mary called the Bowser. They have a Luigi Margarita and a delicious Princess Peach drink that reminds me of a peach mimosa. The bartender does a great job of mixing drinks. My husband enjoys their IPA's on tap. Great selection of beer! They also have a variety of foods available. The House Burger is a great choice. It comes cooked fresh and loaded with condiments and delicious house cut fries. My kids favorite is the Fried Oreos that are served with Nutella and ice cream. You can't go wrong with that combo! Lots of unique flavors and food from snacks to meals here. I love that they offer a time for you to bring kids in to play and then they have an adults only time as well. I think this helps control the crowds as well. Except right before or after a comedy show, the Draftcade can get pretty packed. We dropped by Draftcade on a rainy Saturday and were surprised that it wasn't more crowded. We easily parked in the shopping plaza around the corner. Upon arrival, we paid $7 per person admission and were free to play all the arcade games in the house. What we really came for, though, was duckpin bowling. We were excited that one of the two lanes was open for immediate use. We played three games and had a great time. Next we circulated the arcade games, and had fun playing competitive Tetris. If there's one you want and it's occupied, we found no one really stays in one place very long. We wrapped up with skee ball. Awesome place! The staff is always super friendly and more importantly tentative. I've been here many times and have yet to have a bad experience. The beer selection consists of over 60 taps, most of which are rotating. Screens above the bar show how much is left in the kegs, which is super cool. Food is contemporary bar food with many twists on some of the classics you'd expect to see. The outlying area outside of the bar is littered with retro games for unlimited gameplay at 7 bucks. This is a great place to pawn the kids off and have a few cold ones! Like D&B, they have lots of places for you to set your drinks while you roam through the game area. There were not enough games IMO. It was not very crowded when I was there luckily. I wouldn't want to be in a line or anything to play some of these button mashers. Yes, most of them are button mashers because that is just the genre of the generation I think. Nostalgic nonetheless. We were invited to a Yelp Elite event at Draftcade and it was a blast! Throughout the event we sampled the pizza, fried mushrooms, chicken wings, and quesadillas. Personally I thought the quesadillas were the only mediocre item; the rest was fantastic, not to mention the fried mushrooms were probably the best I have had! The restaurant also has a great selection of beers on tap which was awesome and definitely adds to the overall experience. We went to Draftcade about a week after its grad opening and we had a great time. This is a bar, and is usually 21+, so check times for minors if you want to take your kids. There is limited patio seating. The decor is really cute and definitely gives off the arcade game theme. There are over 30 arcade games, a few pinball games, 2 skee ball lanes, and 2 super shots (basketball). Most of the games seemed like pretty much the same thing, and not too many 2 player options. They also have a small assortment of board/card games. The current special was a $6 wristband for unlimited games all day, and $ .25 pinball games. The beer menu is pretty extensive, they have 60 beers on tap, and another 20 or so in cans/bottles. While this is great, the beer menu isn't organized any specific way, so it's a bit overwhelming to try and see what all they have to offer. As for food, there is a very limited selection, and most of it is fried, so if you're watching your calorie intake, plan to eat beforehand. BUT LET ME TELL YOU... The Fried Boursin Cheese (pictured) is one of the single best things I have tried in a looonnnggg time. We finished one and immediately ordered another. That being said, I hope they expand the menu and branch out a bit from the fired everything. I haven't had the food here yet, but the rest of the experience was great. Walk in and the hostess asks for $5 to have unlimited plays of the arcade excluding the pinball machines. Beer selection is excellent and if you want to try a few different beers you can buy a flight of beers for about $15. A little bit high in my opinion. Game section is pretty solid. Wish they offered a few modern games to choose from. Only confusing part was why they have a DJ for? There's no dance floor or any space to do so. Just have a jukebox and let the people decide what music to play. Guy who was dj'ing had some odd obsession of making every song a generic remix. If I could do zero rating I would. This place had one waitress, and she worked so hard that night while the bartenders just sat there and talked all night. The place was completely full and they didn't help her out at all. We also called ahead for duckpin bowling and they said they would put a reservation in for us when we got there so we could play; the duckpin bowling wasn't even playable the arcade games were surrounding it. Also, when we first got there we weren't sure if we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. The bartenders looked at us multiple times (we waited for 10 mins) until we went up to someone and asked and they said it was seat yourself. All in all this place was horrible. It has always been a mistake going into Draftcade. No idea how they are still in business. Really a zero star if I could. Seriously needs Bar Rescue and new management and new bartenders. Pretty much new personal. Reasons: 1. Terrible bar service. Big rectangle shaped bar. 3 bartenders. Basically have 2 bartenders hanging out on the short, south end of the bar while one bartender tries (and fails) to keep up with the rest of the bar. Same bartender is still hanging out/helping out with 2 bartenders at the south end of the bar (WHY? THERE'S 2 THERE ALREADY.). Seriously..the other 2 bartenders creeped up the bar maybe once in an hour. Fail. 2. Asked for my tab. Took them 20 minutes, a second request and a last name to get my tab. I didn't move from the bar for 1.5 hour. Shouldn't have to give a name on the tab in that case to get my tab so I could actually try to pay. They don't like money. Apparently. 3. Been in when their beer menu didn't match their beer selection. Was charged for a beer I didn't order and was $3 more. They wouldn't credit the beer. Had to pay for something I didn't like,want or ordered. 4. Had a time where their system wouldn't charge my card. Not because my card was declined. Just because their system wouldn't work. Had to pay in cash only to find the out the charge went through. I actually ordered and paid for an additional beer while they tried to figure it out. Nothing was comped. 5. Back to terrible bar service. I seriously watched at least 4 groups walk up to the bar.. have no service for at least 10 min... walk away. It was half busy. Again..no idea how still in business. 6. Bartenders. This has to be the only place they could get a job for the reasons above. Frankly though it's bar management fault. Clearly it's management that should all be fired cause they don't have control or know what they are doing. Otherwise..good beer selection. The arcade games are fun. Draftcade is very clean and the staff is welcoming and attentive. The menu offers a great variety, again something for everyone. My favorite item is the pizza, they just added this to the specials and I hope it gets a permanent spot on the main menu! I also love the sriracha quesadilla and pac man pretzel. $7 wristband to play is well priced and convenient. It's nice to be able to grab a wristband and be set for the rest of the day.
