We ordered drinks and the bar tender was rude and unwelcoming. The decore is cheap and falling apart. The carpet is gross and covered in spills. Our crew ranged, literally, from 6 years old to 60, and everyone had a really great time. The vibe is casual, with games that kept the younger kids occupied, and the environment allowed the adults to converse and catch up. The food was absolutely wonderful - everyone loved what they got, and were very satisfied. Mark, who helped us all evening long, was AMAZING - we had such a great time. Originally hosting the Pabst Brewery taproom and ballroom - look for the original tile mosaic as you enter- as part of "The Worlds Wettest Block", the street where dry Kansas came to drink. The building has also played host to a casino, The famous jazz bar The Antlers Club and most recently a fetish club. The large space has now been transformed into a well curated piece of history with lots of art and artifacts to admire, an area for live music, 2 ping-pong tables centrally placed, a cool old safe, several small tables and lounging areas, and a cool old 1950's era long bar and stools and a beautiful tile floor. A fantastic aesthetic accentuating KC's rich and vibrant history! I popped in on a Saturday afternoon and of course I had to order a Pabst Blue Ribbon. You might not like that, but, personally...I find it pretty refreshing to to be surrounded by the culture of 20-somethings (in controlled doses).
