Ever since our first bite of the Chiwas burger, we've been hooked. It instantly takes us back to our trips to Mexico & enjoying those unforgettable street-style burgers. The meat is always cooked perfectly, and the toppings and spices are packed with flavor. The fries come out hot every time and are seasoned just right. And the horchata?! Pure cinnamony goodness - definitely a must-try. On top of the great food, the employees are consistently friendly & make us feel genuinely welcome every time we come back. Definitely a place to try.

Downtown Mesa is forming into an "it" place for food. Opting out of the chain restaurants of most of vibey strips in AZ (DT Gilbert, Scottsdale, etc...). Instead are a bunch of small business owner making their stake in this world. Main Burgers is just that. Right across the street from one of the few chain restaurants "Pedal Haus" is this cool little burger joint. They have a nice musical vibe with a varied mix. Very varied. Super cool. My wife had the classic burger and fries. She said it was delicious. Ranking up there with anything else she likes... The Five Guys, 7 Brothers, or In N Outs of the world. Sesame seed buns are always a plus. I had the Chiwas Burger Protein style. The patties were cooked great with just enough seasoning to give the meat flavor but not take away from the flavor of the meat. The sauce was amazing. It added a sweetness that distract from the small subtle bite of the spicy peppers. Full disclosure, I've been dabbling in spicy lately but still very much overreacted to anything over a super mild. The kicker was the slice of ham on top. Something about mixing pork and beef together that just works. In all this a great burger spot. What you are looking for when you want to go out and have a burger and beer and just chill for a minute.

Food was really good, not sure if I came at a bad time, but took 15 minutes to place an order food did come out quick, no ice in the soda machine and soda came out pretty warm, will definitely be back. Food was amazing.

Not gonna lie, I had to come here two days in a row to give a solid opinion. The first day I got a classic double and it had caramelized onions on it. Now, I truly think it's a sin to put caramelized onions On a classic unless you're at a White Castle but that's me. Day two, I ask for raw onions and they were more than happy to make it that way. They literally cook this on a grill right in front of you so you know it's done exactly right. The patty is perfectly salted and fried by a master grill man. This is a burger to champion fat and drunk people. Do you want to call me a liar? There is literally a brewery right across the street... test me bitch!!! Also, not to mention... they also serve Cider Corps beer if you are lazy!!! This is a perfect sober day burger or a drunk evening burger. Highly recommend...

This spot is a great go to for a quick bite, especially when you want something easy but still really good. We love coming here for a quick dinner, and the food never disappoints. You can tell the owners know what they're doing. They also own several well known restaurants in the area, and that experience shows in the quality and flavor. The burgers are elevated with Southwest and Mexican inspired ingredients that make them stand out from your typical burger joint. They also offer wings and salads, so there's something for everyone. Everything we've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely a solid option when you want a fast, delicious meal without sacrificing quality. We were so hungry I ate without taking a picture! Guess we need to come back

We were in the area for an event and when I saw a joyful burger mascot I knew it was go time. WOW wow wow, first they were busy, but the service was amazing. The order taker knew the food, made recommendations, and even brought us our food. The big draw is green chilis. I love me some green chilis and woohoo. Their burger chiwas and breakfast burger were both amazing, juicy, spicy, and cooked to perfection. Their fries were crisp even with the cheese on top which was a big win. I want to come back and try their other options. Nice little burger joint vibe, great place to eat while in downtown Mesa

Was in Mesa for a conference and stepped out for lunch. Looked up a few different places and ended up here at main burger! The menu is very simple which is nice because you don't have a million decisions to make. The service was great and despite being busy, they were really prompt on every order placed. The burger was very smash burger style but with house sauce and sautéed onions, it was the perfect amount of crispy and moist. The flavors were on point. The fries were hand cut style and crispy which I love but a few were just a tad too hard. Soft drinks and free refills really made this place shine. It is a tiny place so if you go right at lunch time you might wait for a table. Would definitely come back here again. Happy to have stumbled across this place!

Arrive at lunch time place was packed but the line and orders were coming out in a very good pace I got the Sonoran burger how it comes as soon I took the first bite I know what my girl was going to said a bit a Sal and yes so you will have a big explosion on your mouth of flavors but all the burger is great on my top 3 places for burgers my wife got a double bacon cheeseburger with pickles no house sauce she likes see the truth flavor you also find her review.

Went to Main Burger shortly after it opened up in downtown Mesa. There was a ton of hype around it so I had to check it out. It's a cool little spot, inside vibes are very much like an old time burger diner, which I loved. The staff were friendly and helpful. I got the Double Chiwas (roasted green chile) burger. It was pretty good! It was definitely worth a try but not a jaw dropping experience. Scale of 1 - 10, I'd go back but not going out of my way to make it happen.

I am glad we finally made it out here. I had a tough day after work last week, and my husband ended up not making dinner so we got some burgers! They have their own parking lot, but right behind them is public and free parking with many more spaces. The inside is a little small, but there is a plenty of seating outside. They make everything to order, so you can smell the grill once the order goes in. We ordered the Classic burger, single patty, the hotdog, and a cheesecake. The classic burger was pretty good - loved their pickles! Next time, we will try the other burger styles as it might give us the little oomph we were hoping for. The hotdog though was TOP TIER. It came with beans, cojita, chilies - it was just a dream. This was a great spot to try out, and the aesthetic was pretty cute too!

Stopped by for dinner and it stayed busy the whole time we were there. We were helped a few mins after we arrived and the cashier was friendly. I ordered a plain double cheeseburger combo with toppings on side and my sister had a double Chiwas burger. We sat outside on the patio and the cashier brought us our food. The burgers came out hot and smelled delicious. My cheeseburger was good. The meat was cooked well, juicy, and had a lot of flavor. The chiwas burger was really messy and the bread quikcly became very soggy and it fell apart after a few bites. The flavor was good though. In total paid $43 for two burgers, one drink, and order of fries.

New burger joint in DT Mesa, used to be the old Subway sandwich shop. This is an upgrade for sure but I really wanted to like it more. Came in wanting to give 5 stars. Starting with the positives- it's very cute now, it was quick, and food was decent. I ordered the Chiwas burger -- single patty. Shared some of my friend's fries. It Was good, but not great. I thought I would be wowed but I just wasn't. I am a self proclaimed burger lover, and so I enjoyed it but I thought given the new place, higher prices, and mention of award winning chef it would be one of the better burgers I've had. It wasn't. And the connection to tacos Chiwas set my expectations higher since I love them. I might give it another try next time I'm over in the area. Not opposed to it. I actually see this place as 3.5/5 but Yelp doesn't do half stars (even though they should) and I don't want to down rate a new local place trying to get business going. So it's 4 stars with that in mind.

WOW, That was an amazing BURGER!!. Hello everyone I usually don't start a review like this but this place was Amazing, my wife loves her TicTock and Instagram and the other night she saw this Main Burger shop in Downtown Mesa Az. And shared it with me so of course I was all in to give it a try, we pulled it up and saw it was closed but decided to still go by and glad we did, it was Hopping so we went in and ordered the Chiwas Burger with fries and drink and dug in, Wow what a great tasting burger ( menu pictured will show ingredients ) the fries were great as well, I told Jen I should have ordered two burgers instead of sharing one lol. I talked to the manager to let him know that the website said the business was closed to our surprise we came on there soft opening day lucky us right, anyways you'll Definitely got to stop by and give them a try and sure you'll be a returning customer as it's down as one of my to go places now for a good Burger. Also excited to try there Hot Dog with all the goodie's on it. read more

I'm really happy to see some more quality food and a little revitalization going on in downtown Mesa! This place is helping to keep that momentum going. Their food tastes great and the place has an awesome aesthetic and look that I don't see much in the Valley. Not sure what the deal is, but the various times I've been here, their staff have always made the place feel unwelcoming though. Even when there's few or a handful of guests eating in here already. I guess the place is small, but it just seems like their crew has some drama going on back there or something. It's weird. I'll usually just eat on their nice patio area or take it to go. Doesn't help that they have very little place to wait around either. Maybe I'm nitpicking, but if it was a busy night, I don't know how they'd function. Their food deserves better. read more

I heard about Main burger on tic tok. It was 2:30 and they had people in the place. It is a very clean looking restaurant, but small inside. They have just as many or more seating on the patio. Which sit right on main. I ordered a classic single burger and fries. The burger was rather small, fresh bun, carmalized onions and regular lettuce. The fries were nice,crispy on outside, soft inside. Tasty at first. But it became a little to greasy for me. Price wise, 9 bucks for the burger and 5 bucks for the fries. The combo with drink is 15$ read more

We stopped by Main Burger last week after my daughter's game. The week before, we tried to come but faced a one-hour wait. This time, we got there before 7 PM and had no wait at all--we were able to order right away. No complaints here! It's definitely on the pricier side, but I love what they're building in downtown Mesa. It's more than just a burger spot--it's a place that brings the community together over some seriously juicy cheeseburgers and hotdogs. I'd highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you're looking for a solid date night spot. With local breweries lining the strip, you can easily make a night of it. read more

Worst burger I have ever had. Will never eat here or recommend to anyone. I ordered to go and live 3 block's away. Fries were cold and old. Bun was soggy top and bottom. Meat has zero flavor. I had one bite and one fry and tossed the meal in the trash. I won't even deer it to my dog. Service guy was not very friendly and cold. read more

Ordered the Hot Dog, Chiwas, and Sonora burgers to split between two. Hot Dog -- Honestly it was a gloppy mess. There was no discernable flavor between the hot dog, bacon, and toppings. The biggest thing that happened was that I went through 5 paper towel pieces because ingredients were pouring all over the place...and that was only half because I split the other half. Compared to every other Sonora style hot dog I've ever had this was a huge miss by miles. Burgers -- I'll write about them together because I couldn't distinguish one from the other in terms of taste. Both were pretty unremarkable. The biggest issue was that there was no seasoning whatsoever on the burgers. Frankly, the burgers only added texture, but not taste. If you look at their menu you'll see a long list of ingredients on the burgers, but none of them came through with the lone possibility of the green chili on the Chiwas burger. Fries -- They were fine, but that's not a very high bar to clear. So the above came to $52. Was it worth $52? A resounding no it was not. I'm not sure it is worth half that price. Overall, it was a big meh. Most definitely could have been much better and far less expensive. I think this establishment may be riding on the name of the owners. That's not a bad thing, but if you're going to do it then you need to bring the goods. read more

The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful in walking me through my order, even though I ended up just getting the classic burger combo. I am a huge fries girl and I appreciate that these were clearly made in house, but the salt was hit or miss on each fry-- this can easily be corrected by adding the delicious cheese sauce to the fries. Overall, service was quick and friendly and I definitely recommend as it seems they've ironed out the opening kinks! Stop on by! read more

We've been wanting to visit this place since it first opened, and it did not disappoint! My husband, toddler, and myself got there around 5ish. The place had quite a few patrons but there were seats available. We were greeted as we came in and ordered 2 double combos (one Sonora and one Chiwas style.) They were cooked to perfection! I would drive out here any day for any one of these. The flavors were distinct from another, but we couldn't tell which one was the winner. As for my fries, well, my son determined those were exclusively for him, but I got to sneak a few once I shared some of my burger with him. He was one happy camper along with his mommy and daddy. While they have a very limited menu of hamburgers, hot dogs and fries they do it really really well. I had a single burger and fries and it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly...juicy but done. The sauce, cheese and caramelized onions complimented rather than detracting from the taste of the burger. He had the double with cheese fries. The cheese sauce on the fries is a delicious blend and the smokey bacon was yummy. So, if you are looking for a great hamburger make sure to try Main Burger! read more

One of the Best burger spots in in the valley. Competes with Bad Jimmy's, Stoop kid, 5th street, etc. Really solid cook on the burgers and fries, great ingredients and flavor. You gotta understand that alot of the 3- star reviews are people who probably dont have a discerning taste, and can't necessarily fathom the difference between a gourmet burger and a fast food burger. read more

If you like soggy burgers, overcooked and no flavor fries, and offensive music, you might like this. Not my cup of tea. Didn't need to hear F-bombs in every song and other offensive lyrics. If you don't eat your burger fast it will be soggy with all the sauce on these. I don't feel it added much flavor either. read more

Main Burger is Amazing! No one else is doing a Mexican Burger restaurant like this! This is James Beard level Burgers and Hotdogs. It's deceiving because it looks like a fast food restaurant. The Chiwas burger is my favorite. The atmosphere is casual, the staff is friendly, and it may take a few minutes to get your order. But every visit my food has been perfect. read more

This is the second time eating here. This time I tried the Sonora burger. I am glad I tried something different. The cheese contra was different, it was yummy and crunchy, excellent addition to the burger. The fries were tasty as usual, crispy and nicely salted. I continue to love the modern decor of the restaurant. I went for lunch, there were a lot of construction workers there for lunch, you know it must be good. The service was prompt, I did not wait long for my food. I will need to try the China's burger next. read more

We've been waiting for this to open, finally came in and it did not disappoint! We had the single Chiwas Burger, single Sonoran burger, sonoran dog and cheese fries. The service is friendly, its counter style ordering. Everything was very tasty and the burgers are perfectly cooked, a nice crispy edge and still juicy on the inside. The roasted green chilis were perfectly roasted and had a lot of flavor, with a good amount of spice. We will definitely be back! read more

This place was awesome! The Mexican/American fusion with a burger spot is a welcome addition to the Valley. Downtown Mesa is arguably the coolest downtown city center of the Valley suburbs. I enjoyed all of the burgers and really loved the Sonora. The employees were friendly and the vibes were immaculate! This place is definitely top 10 burgers in the Valley...probably around #8 or #9. read more

This place is bomb! It's pricey but great food nevertheless. The classic double cheeseburger combo is the real deal. Make sure you get the spicy ketchup. Downtown Mesa has been needing a place like this for a long time. I highly recommend this place if you want a good burger joint. I'll have to try the Sonora and Chiwas style next time. read more

Burger I would rate a 6.5 nothing too great except ima big chiltepin fan!! That was my favorite part of the burger. Be better if was made to order can tell patty's had been sitting for a bit. I asked for no onions they put them and I was able to pick them off easily. I also asked no house sauce which had that as well, wasn't over powering like other reviews said so wasn't bad!! Chill vibe and good music!! It was dead service was ok!! If in the area try them out! read more

Main Burger has two choices: Hamburger or Hot Dog. I chose hamburger & my wife did too. We both regretted it. For $20 I ordered the combo which is the burger, fries & drink. For $7 my wife ordered JUST THE BURGER. She made the wiser choice. Mine was burnt to a crisp & should have been called Shit on a Shingle. The fries were rock hard & small pieces like it was from the bottom! My wife got a courtesy cup for water & THE WATER WAS AWFUL! If I could give a ZERO rating I would love to. Never going back and would recommend that everyone avoid it like the plague. read more

Main Burger is a gem! I ordered the single Sonoran burger with fries, and it was absolutely fantastic. The burger was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite.
