Outrageous fees and charges from this UPS store! Expensive mistake I won't make again.

Please give this establishment another try, as the new owners have made a HUGE difference! I won an online auction and this Mail It All location was handling the shipping of my items. I called as soon as I had an issue regarding the item arriving when we were out of town. The store manager, Elle hand held my entire transaction.. from requesting the auction house to drop off my item to them early, to prioritizing my invoice and expediting the overall process. I am eternally grateful to Elle and can't say enough wonderful things about her. If the other employees at this location are half as great, this store will be super successful!! Thank you, Elle! The guy that runs the place is way to argumentative to be working the front. I've been in there 3 times and each time he tries to argue with me. I understand why this place has 2.5 star review. Half the time he doesn't even want to mail anything. Why call it "Mail it all" when half the stuff I bring in you don't want to mail? Only mail sometime. read more

Mail-It-All recently went above and beyond to help us out in a weird situation. We went through them to ship off a passport application, but my wife realized the next day that she forgot to sign the form on the application. We called the store the next day, and they were very polite in making sure to hold on to the package before it got shipped off. Everyone was very friendly and professional there. read more

Went there to ship 2 fed ex packages. I brought 2 boxes in then realized I forgot my cell phone so went to the car to get it, the guy would not stop talking. I felt attacked from the moment I walked in the door. I hadn't even a chance to ask any questions or to show him the label to scan or greet him kindly with a"good morning ". I couldn't understand what he was saying and said something about Amazon but I wasn't even there for Amazon. He was so confusing and kept talking and talking. I felt so uncomfortable I took my packages and left. I would not recommend this place unless your looking for someone to talk your ear off, not listen and confuse you. read more

I am moving. They had the boxes I needed and bubble wrap, all at what I felt was a good price. I went in several times and was given helpful service. I am disappointed in the number of negative reviews here. I believe the fellow who owns the store is Asian and has a thick accent. If I could give a zero I would. I have been shipping items for tradeshows for over 20 years (I am in Marketing). So, I know how to ship via Fed Ex, DHL, and UPS. I dropped off my items yesterday for DHL. I had to go back today because he said that my boxes all had the same scan code. They didn't. He was looking at the Waybill (which is basically the passport for the boxes since my boxes are going internationally). They each had their own printed labels from DHL (box 1 of 4, box 2 of 4, etc.). Why would DHL print out the wrong labels??? He wouldn't take my boxes, so I had to go back today and get them and argue with him that he was wrong. He said he's been doing this for 10 years and he knows what he is doing...NO he doesn't. I left with my boxes and I took them to a place in Leesburg to drop them off. I had no issues with the new place. This isn't the first time that I have had this issue with him. I thought I would try his place again, but no luck. I will not be using this place again. read more

Mail-It-All is a local business that incorporates FedEx, UPS, copying services and even US mail handling. In addition I believe they offer Notary services for a fee and do have mailing packaging products for sale as well. The turnover at this location has not been too frequent, but when I went in today there was a new face - and he was very helpful and organized while handling 2 of us simultaneously. I had two packages to get out via UPS and FedEx - one labeled one not. I only spent a total of 10 min getting this done, that's filling out the paperwork and processing my payment.....whooo hoooo! I'm still not a fan of the pricing UPS or FedEx offers for speedy delivery within my own state!!! Maybe one day they'll figure out that it shouldn't cost more to send in-state than across the country! read more

Mail It All saved the day! My office has an account with UPS which includes free envelopes, boxes etc. However, I had recently run out of envelopes since working from during the pandemic. I figured I'd grab some overnight envelopes at the UPS store in town and using my prepaid lables send out my letters. HOWEVER, the individual working at the UPS store rudely (no mask on) informed me they can only provide me with 1 envelope. Are you kidding me??? Luckily, I remembered Mail It All is nearby and gave them a call to confirm they could provide envelopes to ship my UPS letters. They were more than happy to help and the owners of Mail It All proceeded to insert the labels and letters into the envelopes for me! Noting that the envelopes are provided by UPS for free as a service. Both gentlemen were kind, friendly as well as were wearing masks. I'll definitely be back and refer this store to others. I've used this place several times over the past years and never had a problem with service or the staff. I'm shocked at some of the negative reviews. I went in on a quiet, non-busy, Saturday morning to drop a UPS package. Upon dropping off I requested a receipt. The owner proceeeded to lecture me as he hand-scrawled out an incomplete reciept that I didn't really need one, and that his other customers trusted him, and whining about UPS policies. I let him continue with his abuse and left with my hard-fought receipt in hand, bloodied and bruised. If this guy thinks I'm going to ever spend 3 cents to get crappy, rude service he'll be waiting until hell freezes over. 2 Stars is being generous; (I'm assuming he actually manages to accomplish his job). read more

Always has supplies and ships without issue, but twice now, I've been told that I'm "weird" and have encountered arguments about how I need to ship my packages. I have a specific way they need to be done for work compliance and the owner doesn't "like" it and argues about me asking for two envelopes for one package and such. I only come here in a bind when I can't get to Leesburg in time...put it that way. I just don't appreciate being called weird for something I have to follow for work reasons. I received terrible service. I needed to send a fax of my wife's drivers license. I asked the lady at the counter to help with the machine. and printed a copy that I thought was too dark. She assured me that it was fine and that I wanted it to be dark so it could be easily read! so... of course the receiver of the fax asked for it to be resent larger and not as dark she printed another copy slightly larger and just as dark as the first! Again, the receiver was unable to use the fax... so this time the manager guy gets involved; argues with me about what size I wanted! He ignores me when I was trying to tell him to use the photo setting and what size of image i needed, We eventually got a legible copy to it's destination. At this point I was only a little irritated but I could still see some humor in the situation... That is until time to pay my bill. for the fax he not only wanted to charge me for all three copies but all of the failed faxes too! I protested and he argued back! I eventually lost my temper and threw all my money down on the counter and told him to just keep it all because that's all the money he will ever get of mine and I would never be back! Unbelievable! Instead of just taking my package he made a nasty comment about customers that don't tape the box and then said not to come back next ti m e if I don't tape it. Worst service ever! I will never go to this business ever again! I give this place a negative 5, I highly recommend you NOT using this place for any packages going overseas. I went in to mail a package overseas via UPS, they told me it would be delivered in 3 days and took my money. The next day, I got a call from UPS saying that a commercial invoice was missing and now my package has been delayed. I called and talked to the owner/manager of this place telling him what had happened and he says, "what would you like for me to do?" He wouldn't help me out at all and didn't even want to hear what I had to say. I asked him if he could please call his employee to ask what had happened and he says I didn't train anyone...well if you're the owner of a business and you haven't trained anyone, mistakes like this are going to happen, correct? I wanted him to at least own up to the mistake and apologize for the delay but I got nothing from him. In the end, I told him that I would tell everyone I know not to go to his place of business! I am usually a very grounded person and can take a lot but he really wasn't sympathetic toward my situation at all! They can take my money but not hear my complaint - what a way to run a business!! The gentleman there not only helped me pack the goodies, sealed the box, supplied "this side up stickers" and helped me choose the most affordable way to get it there. He was wonderful!!! I have been dropping packages off to this location for 7 years. The owner has never been super friendly. But I didn't really need "help" since I had a pre-paid package to drop off. When I came in with a pre-paid package that needed a box, I went to the counter for assistance with box size and packing. He rudely told me that the "boxes are over there" and that I'd have to "pack myself". While I'm ok with packing the item myself, I didn't know I had to choose a box on my own and package it. It could have been relayed in a much kinder way than just shooing me away. I will be using the actual UPS store in town to continue with my shipping needs. The UPS Store will help me chose a box and package it for me even if I have a pre-paid label. No matter if I have a pre-paid label or need assistance with shipping, as a business owner, he should help ALL customers and have a smile on his face. I mean I was paying for the box! No using this place again unless I have a Fed Ex to drop off and even then I may find a dropbox. Rude, rude, rude. read more

I had a 63 page document to return to a bank on the west coast. Many signature pages were notarized at the local bank, but the notary refused to stamp one of them. I also needed a copy of the document. The store was busy, but the owner made my copy, did the notary thing, and got the document sent all the while dealing with four other customers. It took about 15 minutes. I've used this store many times and never had a problem. read more

The guy operating the counter could not have been more rude, told me my taping of the box sucks, and despite there being tons of tape around he said I could not use it and I had to purchase one for 6.00!!!!! He snatched the money out of my hand and I left. To make matters worse, the customer on eBay wrote me back when they received the item that it was completely mishandled and damaged. We were charged $89.00 for 2 day Fex Ex Shipping of a 2.2 lb box. The cost seemed excessive. We did a search on Fed Ex.com, UPS.com and USPS.com upon our return home. The 2-day shipping rate on all three sites was between $40.00 and $42.00 for shipping between zip codes 20132 and 90039. We called Mail it All assuming we were charged the overnight shipping rate. The owner declared we were charged the correct rate and the websites were all wrong. No price correction was made read more

There was a famous episode of Seinfeld featuring a soup maker who had a "difficult" personality. I won't use his title from the show since some might find it offensive as a comparison. But imagine the package shipping version of that businessman and you know what to expect here. The owner is hilariously rude if you simply don't take it personally. He sells everything you need to send a package and provides FedEx and UPS service. He doesn't sell US Postal Service postage but you can leave your pre-paid USPS package for postal pick up. On my most recent trip, I asked about this, "Can I ship a USPS package from here or just FedEx or UPS?" and got one of his famously rude responses: "You see the sign with the name of the business? Mail-it-ALL. Of course you can leave it. They pick up here every single day!" Anyway, like I said, don't take it personally. He knows all there is to know about the best way to pack anything I've seen anyone bring in. On that last trip of mine, I would have bought a box 50% too big if he hadn't shown me the "right" way to pack my item. But be advised, he won't officially pack your box as he won't take responsibility for any damage. I don't have a problem with that, I appreciate his knowledge. The fact that he's still here well after UPS moved in to town is a testament to his loyal customer base. read more

I called the store this afternoon to ask questions about a fax I received from this location, indicating it was illegible. All I said is I've been receiving a fax from you, and...Before I could ask any questions, or tell him what the problem with the fax was, in hopes to remedy the situation I was dismissed abruptly, then immediately handed off to the customer at the facility who was faxing me. Not only was I surprised at how rude he was, but how apparent the problem had become in the store if he knew who the customer was. (unless he was the only one there?)As far as communication is concerned I believe that they should take a class on customer service etiquette, as well as basic manners. I will not go to this store even though I'm a resident of the area, and will drive the 15 minutes to Leesburg, rather than support this local business, as I do all others. Oh, and just fyi they will accept credit cards only if your transaction is over $5, otherwise bring cash if you decide to go to this awful store. read more

I was kept waiting at the counter while the employee finished up on the computer. Then when he did come over, it was with a scowl. I had an Amazon package to be taped shut and mailed. He just looked down at the box. Standing there with a frown. I said, "would you prefer I take it elsewhere?" He said "yes", crumpled the shipping label back in the box and pushed it back toward me. Don't go here! The owner/worker is very rude, and unhelpful. I went in to scan 12 pages to an email and he was bothered to show me how, even though I would be paying him (a ridiculous fee at that). When the scan would not go through in one email he said "what do you want me to do", and actually told me to leave when I asked for more help! Amazingly awful business man! His customer service manners are ruthless! I took a package in that just needed a box and taped shut. He wouldn't help in any way. And when the box didn't fit exactly, he threw his arms up in the air and said, "I can't supply every size box they make!" I said, do you have paper I can stuff it with? "NO! I have no paper here! You have to do that yourself." I said, "How about a razor knife and I'll just score the box and fold it?" He tossed one on the counter along with a tape gun and went back to his room. When I was finished, I called to him and asked him what I owed him for the box and tape. He came out, said $3.08. Handed him my card...SURPRISE! He angrily said, "I don't take them! See the sign?!" I replied with a stare and said, "Do you realize I'm a customer here?" He said, "It's store policy!" So I scrounged every part of my purse and had to go out to my car to get the 7 lousy cents I was short. When I came back in, he dumped his change jar on the counter, and I said, "I don't need your money." As I walked away he said, "Have a blessed day." Are you serious?! How can a human being be so nasty and wish a person a blessed day? Where is he coming from!? I can only hope his business closes sooner than later. Based on all the reviews I've read, I'm surprised he's even allowed to operate a business in such a sweet town as Purcellville. What a pity. I think if you go in with a prepaid label, he's not getting his $2.00 or so that he charges to print it out for you. He truly has an attitude.
