I HAVE to start this with my most important point: they deserve 10 stars, not just 5. So please know that the things that may sound like complaints definitely are NOT. I am hoping Helane reads this and understands it as constructive criticism. I have never hired a house cleaning service before, but as I get older, I can't get on my knees and scrub my bathroom anymore :( My initial request via Yelp projects was just for that one service. I received a few replies, some two days later (!) but Helane at Maid 4 You answered right away. After some back and forth via Yelp, we began to text. By far the easiest! She told me her minimum fee was $100 and asked what else could they clean to make it right. Long story short, it was by far the best quote I received so I booked for today. The two people who cleaned went above and beyond (I think, more later). My bathroom and the one on the main floor as well as the one on the third floor are sparkling! Just to add a tip here: they don't give a "window" appointment, so when the cleaning crew finished another job early, Helane texted to ask if they could come but it was an hour and 15 minutes earlier. We weren't ready! We had so. much. stuff. The clutter struggle is real. Here is one more, very important tip: the "lead" cleaner spoke a little English but the other one I think none. It was delightful to listen to them speaking Portuguese! But if I was doing this again from scratch, I would ask the boss to come to the house so we could be very clear what was and wasn't to be done. I honestly don't know what they were told, but if it was their normal cleaning routine it was beyond excellent!! I just didn't know - having never hired anyone for this before - what to expect or how to direct them. Will we have them back? You bet. DD and I are thinking a monthly visit from these fantastic cleaners will be well worth the very reasonable cost. PS - I had to google how much to tip because as I said I was a first timer. I hired this company about a year ago to clean my rental after the tenant moved out. My friend unlocked the door for the crew and then left. I didn't arrive until the crew had just finished cleaning. I did a quick walkthrough and didn't notice any issues at the time. However, when the new tenant moved in, they found that the kitchen cabinets had not been cleaned at all. Unfortunately, the previous tenant had left the cabinets quite messy, so I had to reduce the new tenant's first month's rent. They even managed to remove paint from the floor that has been there since before we moved in. There were so many nice touches throughout my home. They left poop on my toilet. They also gave me a number to Venmo the payment, which I did and which was taken out of my bank account. Then Helane said she didn't receive the payment because she gave me the wrong number the first time, and asked again to be paid, but to a different phone number. I did so and it was taken out of my bank account. so. When I discovered the double payment, I asked her to correct this with Venmo but she refused and told me to call them. She stole $144.20 from me because I paid her twice according to my bank account. I'm going to dispute the charge with my bank. Like I said, they left poop on my toilet, and their behavior makes them look like thieves. Use them at your peril. read more

For the first time I decided to hire a maid. Well, I'm disappointed. The initial price was $100-130 which included tile grout, fridge and microwave. Helane "forgot" about the fridge, asking additional $20 on the top of $130. What's included in the $100 price? Why immediately $130? Helane demanded payment right after the appt and requested a tip; the minimum tip was %15, no custom option. So I paid $150, plus $22.5 tip total. Only to discover later the following: 1) the glass wall rail is not cleaned, 2) the floor behind the sofa is not cleaned, 3) the coffee table is not properly cleaned, 4) some fixtures are not cleaned, 5) vanity lamps in the bathroom are not cleaned, 6) the toilet is not completely cleaned, 7) the refrigerator is not completely cleaned, 8)there're water streaks literally everywhere I contacted the company listing the issues with pictures and I was offered additional appointment or refund. Love these ladies! I knew after the first visit that they were a perfect fit. I am that person who struggles to let people do things for me. So as I guided them through the house, I made sure to tell them everything they did not have to do. Well, when they were done, not only was my house immaculate, but the kids rooms were straightened, all the beds were made with fresh linens, and everything I told them to skip had been cleaned. Many other cleaners would have (and have in the past) gladly done less work for the same fee, but these ladies gave me what I needed, not what I asked for. And I must say, I was delighted. WOW! Just got back to my apartment after an hour-long cleaning from Scheila and her team. I've lived in my apartment for three years, and I'm pretty sure it's cleaner now than when I moved in! Scheila and her team paid incredible attention to detail, cleaning/dusting every nook and cranny. They even went above and beyond and did our dishes and took out the trash.
