I went in for a fill and immediately was bombarded with them trying to sell me upgrades! "You sure you don't want a pedicure"? "Do you want your eyebrows waxed"? "Are you sure"? Them: Would you like your lower arms massaged? Me: sure Them: That will be an extra $20. Me: No thanks. But the worst part of my visit was how dirty this place is! When they first opened it was pretty nice. But now there are boxes, piles of rags, food, stuff stacked up against walls, just crap all around you! The walls are dirty, you can see dust and cobwebs everywhere. It's gross! The file she used on me was worn out, as was the buffing pad. Even the light I put my hand in was so dirty! Yuck! The fill itself was rushed and she didn't even have me wash my hand so there are little bumps under my polish. It's coming off the edges in a couple of spots and I got them done today! We waited at the table for over 35 minutes. We were moved multiple times from one station to another. We sat. They started working on my daughters nails. Four customers came in and went before I did. By the time they got to me my daughters nails were done. She sat in a pedicure chair and waited. My nails were rushed. I've got lumpy spots, spots with no polish and so many jagged edges that were not filed off. This place is a joke $$125.00 for my daughter and I. Way too much money for the way you're treated. Yeah..... it was bad. I went in hoping to get just my toe nails painted for graduation. The lady painting tried to talk me up to a $55 package when I rejected it she then persisted I do a 45$ one. I finally said I just wanted the 15$ nail paint, and then she asked gel. I said no gel, but then we did gel....... I didn't want to stop her because She was almost done when she stuck my feet under the blue light. I thought "okay so we did gel that's okay, it's only 15+ so that brings my total up to $30", still a reasonable price. But as we continued I realized how horribly they were painted, there was polish all over my foot and some of my toes were scuffed or were not completely painted. I was then charged $45 for something I could have absolute done better. I payed and didn't complain to them. But I will not be revisiting. read more

I came in at 12:30 for a dip full set. About 10 minutes into my service, another customer comes in saying they had an appointment scheduled for that time. My tech Heidi, grabs my hand, and tries to shove me into another chair and says I'll have to wait until she's done with this client. As this point I have no option but wait seeing as my nails were half way removed. After waiting about 30 minutes, another tech, Mai, continues removing my nails. Once she's done, Heidi says she's done with her client and can continue doing my nails again. At this point I'm beyond ready to go so I say I'll just pay for the removal and leave. They charged me $30 for a REMOVAL because they said they did a manicure too! What a ripoff and a complete terrible experience. read more

Worst customer experience ever. I came in 5 minutes after it opened. First one in a chair for pedicure. I took over an hour! And not because it was a stellar pedi, because the lady stopped every 2 minutes to go do something else. "Oh, just so busy." I believe it would be more efficient to just focus on my pedi and get me out the door. Very inattentive and made me feel like a burden. What a joke. And there is no spot on the debit/credit card for a tip, you just have to tell them what to tip and they add it to the total...this place is shady! Update 20 minutes after getting home...my gel pedicure is peeling. Lovely. I called the nail salon, she couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. Kept telling me to just come in to have it fixed. Yeah, I already wasted all of my free time today getting a pedicure. Like I want to drag my kid in there and wait to have it fixed. I thought I would give this place a try after 4 years and boy was that ever the wrong decision. There for a gel manicure/pedi - they put me in a chair for 15 minutes, not even soaking. Rushed through my pedicure, a French with one coat of white tip and one top coat. Asked me to move immediately, when the people to my right were asleep in their chairs and done before mine started. My manicure was worse, if you can believe that. Rushed, rude, my nails painted on to my cuticles, paint left over from my previous manicure and she was upset I pointed that out. They had me walk with bare feet to wash my hands, no flimsy flip flopsike the other salons - which doesn't bother me in a CLEAN salon, but the floors are embarrassingly dirty, as are the walls. I tried to be polite and point it out, but she just told me, in a very rude manner, to sit back down and do over. I paid and told myself "lesson learned" on my way out. I've gotten french manicures at a LOT of salons before and have never disliked them. I tried to give feedback throughout the manicure to the nail artist and she'd nod like she knew what I was talking about (color wasn't applied evenly, not filled to the edge, rough looking filing), but nothing would get fixed. I gave up and just had her finish this terrible application. If you want to spend a lot on a basic gel french manicure with results as shown on my photo, feel free to go. I scheduled an appointment for 12:00 pm today because it's my birthday, and had to wait 2 hours to be seen. When I was finally seen I asked her to just fix the shape but not take any length off. She took off most of the nail I had and I don't have that much past my finger, and nicked me several times. She proceeded to paint them, missing sections and not caring that there were fuzzies in the polish. When I asked her to take out the fluffs, she huffed and puffed saying there was nothing wrong with them. When she was done, she put a top coat that was stained pink from red polish on top of my blue, which changed the color. There was polish on my cuticles, which happens, but she didn't clean it at all. I was so shocked and heartbroken to pay for something that I had to go home and redo. Will definitely not be going back here. read more

I do NOT recommend this place! If I could give negative stars I would. I got a gel mani and pedi, and the experience was NOT relaxing. They pinched skin, clipped into my toenail to the point it started bleeding, the pressure with massages were way too strong, and the whole experience was uncomfortable. They got the clear polish coat all over my skin that I felt a burn on one of my fingers at one point while under the curing light. They also make you state the tip you choose to give out loud for everyone else to hear otherwise I wouldn't have tipped. It is way overpriced for poor service and a rough experience. I stopped in on a Sunday morning. The place was full, very busy. I asked "Do you have time for a pedicure?" They said yes, pick out a color. I waited thirty minutes with out even getting into the water. Then they had me sitting so long the water went cold. It took 1 full hour for them to start on me. I debated getting up and leaving multiple times but my feet were in water. They pedicure only lasted thirty minutes, half the time of the waiting and it cost $30. I'd give 0 stars if possible on this business. I only went in for a mani-pedi and I was pressured into an eyebrow waxing by the manicure staff named Lana even though I had declined the same with the pedicurist. While doing the eyebrow she pushed for a whole face wax until I gave in. Within minutes my face bloated up and was burning and red with hives all over my face and neck. She started blotching my face with a no bump solution which made it even worse. She didn't know the difference between an allergic reaction vs post waxing bump. Everyone including other customers in the salon started panicking for me as I was also pregnant and wondered if I needed to go to the Emergency unit. Luckily there was a nurse amongst the customers who correctly identified that it was hives. I tried a pack of ice directly on my face to cool it down. The pictures were taken after the ice. I should have taken pics before the ice..my face was 10 times worse. I had to sit with the ice for a good 30 mins before it stopped burning. The worse part of this horrible experience was that she charged me for the waxing even though she said she won't charge me earlier when my face started swelling up. This is my first and last time in this place. Believe the crappy reviews because they are true. I didn't believe them and this was my horrifying experience!! read more

This was my first time to Mai Nails. I feel like the techs were more into catching up on the latest gossip than with the customer. I'm not sure on the other nail techs but mine spoke very little English. I'm usually pretty good at understanding people where English is their second language but we had a hard time communicating. They pushed for the up sale, really hard and when it's time to pay they try really hard to get you to pay by cash or check. I paid by credit and they even ask you that next time to bring a check. Had an appointment for noon today, we were going to leave as after 30 minutes the lady put a plastic bag on one of our hands and then two out of three people finished after 1.5 hours and our third in our party decided not to as she still hadn't been seen. I will never come here again. A friend who goes often wanted me to go with her to get our nails done. So i wanted to get a manicure am gel nail polish. The lady who did my nails, gave me the color selection, sits me down, puts my fingers in two sandwich bags filled with lotion(i think). And i wait for at least 10 minutes. When she finally sat down to begin doing my nails, i from the get go couldn't understand what she was saying. So i just get the jyst of what she is talking about which was how i wanted them shaped. I told her and that was that. After my manicure she asks me something yet again, and again i have no idea what she is saying, because she is speaking so Low and i couldn't understand her accent. So after like the 5th time of asking what, i just say yes. So she brings on the sugar scrub and lotion and hot towels. I'm thinking, maybe this was apart of their manicure? She finishes up my nails while my arms are wrapped in the towels, and after gives me a neck and shoulder massage. The lady asked Me if i have ever been there before, or if it was my first time. I was honest and said It was My first time.After all that the bill comes. It is 40 freaking dollars. My friend paid $45 for dip nails. And my friend was stunned, she had never paid that much either for what i got. And the lady doing my friends nails speaks inn another language to her and the lady who was doing my nails begins to raise her voice almost yelling. And it seriously just felt off and i honestly feel like she was trying to take advantage of me, because I was new there and i literally had no idea what she was saying whenever she spoke to me. It was such an awful experience. They don't have half the things listed. The manicure was uneven and i could've done a better job myself. Such a waste of money. I love the employees here they are so kind and generous and professional unlike a lot of places who don't seem to have any customer service I called to make an appointment and they moved up to 1015 E. francis but it is worth the drive for me. They are closed on Sunday but usually open until seven or 8 PM during the week so it's easy to make it in just make sure you call it's better to make an appointment. I had a nail break and I went down the road to see how much Hollys nails would charge me and they wanted to do the full set for $45 so I came back here like I had the first time and she repaired it for free even after I offered to pay her so I always tip them well and I am making sure never to go to another place again please come here and support these women they really deserve your time and money!!! read more

They picked at my feet until the bled. Three of us girls went at once, they helped two of us. The third didn't get seen until after the first two were finished. So we had to wait twice as long, and we even had an appointment! Walk-ins took precedence and that is NOT to okay. My feet hurt for days after and my big toe bled for about a week after the pedicure. The other salon was not very accommodating and their customer service was tepid to say the least, after waiting 30 minutes WITH an appointment I walked out and drove to MAI NAILS. I walked in to a warm greeting and helpful service within minutes WITHOUT an appointment! Needless to say 3 years later I have been here ever since. Mai always greets myself and everyone at the door by their first name, she makes it a point to get to know who you are. Tee has done my nails for years now , she is wonderful!
