We were warmly greeted and promptly seated on the second floor, it could be a little tight but overall, I think the area is good for small families and groups. Three different pages of drink options, including Asian Mojito, grapefruit mimosa, pear flower martini, lychee rosé martini, and Chinese five spice cocktails. Standout entree's include limoncello crispy shrimp, green beans, cucumber salad, pan fried pork dumplings, hot chili oil wontons, and bao buns with pork belly. Scallion bubble pancake with curry dip was fun for an interactive experience. Next time I would pass on the Kung pao chicken, salt and pepper shrimp and shrimp and chive dumplings. The plates are shareable and come out when ready. Our server was friendly. One suggestion is to play music on the third floor.

We had a 7:00 PM reservation for seven -- planned largely around my son's birthday request and his love of Dim Sum. Unfortunately, Dim Sum isn't available on Tuesday nights, which was a minor disappointment since our previous Sunday visit gave us the full Dim Sum experience. We shifted to ordering family-style and were genuinely pleased with the meal. The Moo Shu Pork, Peking Duck, Chicken Fried Rice, Mápó Dòufu, and Bok Choy were all flavorful and well-prepared. Everything came with won ton soup and tea, which was a nice touch and added to the overall experience. The atmosphere feels authentic and comfortable, and the staff was friendly throughout the evening. The manager tried to steer us toward several suggested dishes -- it was a bit unclear whether this was purely helpful guidance or an effort to highlight readily available items -- but we appreciated the input and did enjoy the bok choy recommendation. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, despite the Dim Sum surprise, it was an enjoyable and satisfying dinner. We would absolutely return -- just on a weekend next time for Dim Sum.

We went on a Sunday for lunch and was expected to be greeted with chaos (at least that was our experience at other dim sum places). They did have a lot of customers, but the "chaos" seemed to be a lot more organized. The dim sum carts seemed to be making more frequent rounds than what we were used to and the servers were locked in. We had a pretty large party and it felt like there was a never ending flow of food (and variety) the entire time. You do get the "typical" dim sum experience/ambiance of carts rolling around everywhere and servers asking you if you'd like to get anything, so it's a great experience to bring someone who hasn't had dim sum yet. Would totally recommend for parties of all sizes and we'll be back. They do advertise sushi, but can't speak too much on that because we stuck solely with dim sum that day.

Nestled between the usual pizza ever burger joints, Dumpling District offers a delicious…read morealternative. They share their space with a Kung Fu Tea, and thanks to some awkward spacing on their current signage, I thought they were actually a dojo. Once I realised, I went in. This is not a restaurant but a food hall, and it feels like a cafeteria inside. It's a definite "get your food and go" kind of place: the fact that my "for here" order came packed to go helps emphasize that (and, PLEASE, can we consider the amount of single use plastic waste as a result of that? I don't need lids and such....) I ordered the tripe app and rainbow soup dumplings. The tripe was very good, with just a touch of spice. Americans might consider it a medium? The dumplings were surprisingly good and I would rank them with many other good dumpling places. Service was good. Food was delicious. Atmosphere and heavy plastic use leave a little to be desired.

Back then, it was a genuinely high-quality, legit spot for soup dumplings, but recently the standards have slipped noticeably. The overall food quality has definitely dropped off. With Nancianf opening up a location over at Columbia Mall, Dumpling District is in serious trouble--they are definitely going to lose our business, along with a lot of locals who remember how good the food used to be. Soup dumplings are supposed to be the main highlight of this restaurant, but the execution has really gone downhill lately. They seriously need to step up their game and bring back the original quality before people move on for good.

I really like hanging out in this area of Columbia…read more We decided to stop into Peter Chang's for lunch on a semi-cloudy Monday, and I did not have high expectations BUT was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It held more of an upscale Chinese restaurant atmosphere, which makes sense for having so many locations following same business strategy. I've always thought Peter Chang was more americanized and didn't have the normal Canton flavors that I grew up with which I was a bit surprised by their menu, which had a bit of everything Chinese. We ordered soup dumplings, spicy wontons, Fried Rice and their Peking Duck. Truly enjoyed their Peking Duck since it was nicely cut like my favorite duck place in Virginia and for a plus, it came with a delicious Duck Soup! The soup truly prepped my stomach for the meal and made me feel warm and excited that the duck was soon to be served. Besides the duck, my favorite was actually the Scallion Roti! I was not expecting it to be so good! It was such a simple appetizer but the flavors and the sauce they served was great! Service was excellent, drinks were well put together, and we ate everything we ordered. NO leftovers. I really wanted to give it five stars, but it was a hard decision in that I probably wouldn't come back there unless I was craving a quick fix for Peking Duck and the Scallion Roti. I've had better soup dumplings and the other dishes on the menu did not standout to me as much. But then maybe my next trip there may change my mind!

I took my eight year old granddaughter and it turns out this is her favorite place to eat. She had miso soup, fired dumplings and I think the cooked California roll (it had shrimp in it), she washed it all down with tropical bubble tea. I had the creamy crunch crab roll tasty and filling, avocado salad beautiful presentation, and the best sweet and sour soup I have ever had! we both shared and order of honey wings veryyyyy good!. I did not think about it until after the meal was over to ask it they except tap? (Thank goodness they did). The place is very roomy, it wasn't crowded at all (keep in mind it was a Monday evening). My granddaughter made sure she ordered mochi for dessert , I'd never had it so my granddaughter was nice enough to let me try hers it was refreshing and nice:). I must say it was kind of pricy, however they do have an all you can it menu and a lunch time menu that will help you stay withing a reasonable budget. I do want to say that the food is as tasty to the palate as it is pleasing to the eye. Until next yelp, VJ
