i hate to leave bad reviews but .. I gave them a chance to fix my problem and they told me i had to come back or pay to fix it and with my hectic schedule it's a bit hard firstly I got a fresh acrylic set by the guy that sits in the front booth to your right near the register, I've been coming here for over 5 years , so he placed the tips on my nails layed the acrylic then I noticed on one nail it was lifted so I started looking at my nails not only did he snap his fingers at me trying to rush through the job , I showed him a design I wanted he nodded his head then did something completely different ! if he couldn't do it then say that .. fast foward a week later all my nails have lifted off my natural nails ! I went in and one of the lady's is goin to give me some bs saying my nails are shaped like that lol I've been getting my nails done for years and have NEVER !!! had anything like this happen to me ! they will never see my money .. trash service and customer service! read more

I usually go to this nail salon, and I was a little skeptical at first. They do a decent job, but I went recently to get my eyebrows done and they burned me very badly. I never have been burned before, but it was so bad. I don't know how long this will take to heal but it's heavy scarring and my skin under my brows are red and exposed bc my skin is completely gone! I've been here about 3 times since their opening. The first two experiences were ok but I thought it was a little expensive for the area. Since, I think they dropped their prices about $5 on the mani-pedi. The last time I was there (last weekend) I felt really rushed. I didn't even get any cuticle oil or hand massage with my manicure. This place is always busy (esp on weekends) so make sure you make an appointment. I thought this was going to be my go-to nail place in Chicago because it was new and close to my place, but I am second guessing now. I would like to experience this salon when it isn't too busy so they can really focus on each and every client instead of rushing to get in as many people as they can. I have been getting gel nails for years...and I cannot even express how picky I am! John has given me the best manicure in YEARS!! They are perfect! He is the Edward scissor hands of manicures!! Highly recommend!! read more

Sam is by far the best as he never disappoints. My no chip French manicure looks excellent. If you don't mind waiting for Sam, it will be be well worth it. My only caveat is this; everyone should be like Sam so it doesn't matter who services you. read more

Got a no chip mani and a pedi plus the orange peel sea salt scrub the girl offered me for $5 more. They do pretty good work here compared to most shops I've been to in the near west side. I've been here twice and will keep coming. The staff is also very friendly. read more

THEY WERE HORRIBLLLLE! They tried to make me water for my pedicure and i saw a lot of other ppl skin left in the bowl. Sooo they were dirty. They jacked up my eyebrows smh. If I could do less I would. I have been coming here since they opened and while they typically do good work, The last two times I've been, the jobs have been HORRIBLE by two different techs. The last job resulted in my no chip chipping within two days. The most recent experience included a new nail tech who did not know what she was doing. I asked for an almond shape. The first go round she cut the tips so short I had her take them off and apply new ones. The second time the tips were so long, despite me telling her to file them down. They still were not shaped and filed as requested. After repeating myself, I gave up. The gel application has my nails looking flat and the paint job was a mess. I will be having them take them off and I will take my business elsewhere read more

I had been searching for a regular nail place for so long when I came across Magic Nails. Mary, the owner has made this establishment so welcoming to anyone in the area. She has such a great staff that really care about their clients and they do amazing work! If you are looking for a really good pedicure, ask for Sam. He has very strong hands and he is very meticulous. Jenny, works on Saturdays and she does very pretty free hand painting on nails and she's also really great with waxing and shaping. Magic Nails is a clean, super cute place full of really amazing people. HORRIBLE! I wish I can give it 0 stars if I can. I want to start off by saying that i don't believe on going to social media to talk businesses down. BUT this pace was THE WOST salon/spa i've ever been to. let me start of by saying that NO ONE greeted me when i came in. The receptionist has some type of attitude problem. Took me a little while to realize that she's actually the owner, and her name is Mary. She needs to stop rolling her eyes because if it wasn't because US customers she wouldn't be getting paid. This is my first time here and 100% sure my last. AND of course it was Mary who waxed my eyebrows, and did a HORRIBLE jon, I am crying because she left my brows OVER AN INCH APART. I tried using my Anastasia brow wiz, powder and even the pomade and they still look horrible. I am in tears and they completely ruined my self esteem as I know it will take more than two weeks for my inner brows to grow back. I was planning on getting my nails done too, but after seeing what my eyebrows came out to be, I quickly changed my mind and didn't want to waste money on my nails either. I have been going to this place for three years on my lunch break since it is 5 mins away. I normally receive great service UNTIL TODAY!!! Today, I called as usual before arriving to see if there was a wait for a no chip mani and regular pedi and that I was on my lunch break. I was told there was no wait for the requested service. When I arrived to the shop less than 10 mins later there was a wait to get in the pedi chair. One of the workers begin to remove my no chip and begin my no chip mani and I asked her what about my pedi... my feet needs to be drying while working on my nails due to me being on my lunch break because I did not want to mess up my toes. I was told there was still a wait for a pedi so I asked for the $3 flip flops to be complimentary due to my inconvenience, the tech grabbed the manager that I spoke to on the phone and she declined my request and notified me I could walk out with the paper flip flops. I immediately told them I would only pay for my nail and the service was no longer needed because I am BIG ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. Mean while, they prefer their customers to pay $3 for flip flops due to their mistakes vs. getting $60 bi-weekly faithfully from a customer... something is wrong with that picture... new nail shop hunting on the way as of today for my pedicure and no chip mani. DONT GO HERE, I am a nail shop fanatic so trust me when I say pick somewhere else. They messed my lashes up like really messed up, the first day it burned the second it hurt and by the third I had to get back to them, I had stop going here because of bad service and they did my nails horrible so many times but I was in a rush and couldn't get to my original nail shop. My eyes looked crossed, then when I went to get it fixed she redid one eye and put more glue on the other one which is now making my eye irritated at this very moment. This place was nice when it first opened but very quickly it got dirty and run down. Their base price for acrylics is cheap but if you want them filed they charge you extra, For each direction they file your nail! WTF? Also its Very Dirty. I am or should I say WAS a frequent customer until this past Wednesday. I requested a pedicure and a full-in with gel polish. I was int he shop with 1 or 2 other customers so my service began right away. On this particular evening I was passed off to a least 2-3 techs before someone decided they actually wanted to lrovide me with services. I was so confused until about 10 minutes into my pedicure a woman walked immediately began receiving the royal treatment. It appears she had given a heads up call she was on the way. Her pedicure began and while Receiving her pedicure she had two manicurist (one on each hand) doing her nails. Here I am still just receiving my pedicure with my one tech. One my fill-in time came around I requested to have my nails cut down,NOW as I've stated I have been coming to this nail shop since the day they opened their doors at this location. I have NEVER paid for them to cut my nails down while receiving services such and a fill in, well not tonight I was advised this would be an additional 3 dollar charge, next she removed the gel polish I had gotten the service prior and began to fill my nails. While filling my nails she proceeded to advise me that she would need to charge me for removing the polish 5 dollars. At this point I'm so confused. I asked if pricing had changed and she advised no and that I always paid this price. She advised my cost for a no chip fill is 33 dollars. You guys know I was quite surprised when I paid 35 for the initial service 2 weeks prior. I requested to speak with the manager and she proceeded to advise me that every service received is an additional cost and the total due was 27 dollars. When I advised of the previous quote she simply stated oh she may have been confused. What I think is she was trying to get over on me. I paid for the services however I will never return to this place again. They show special treatment to clients they feel have more money and will tip better, the most interesting part of the night is the lady they gave such royal treatment too card couldn't even be processed and walked out with free services. I AM UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICES RECEIVED AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Did I mention that the nails all broke at the tip before the weekend was even over because of the poor job she did. Then she took one side of my front of my left off! Never going back!! It's so uneven! And she tried to prove me wrong but I said not to take no more off and you did! So that is your fault! read more

Excellent place. They are clean and professional. I got a mani and pedi done for 30 dollars. The decor is lovely and the employees here are friendly. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews but I will say that it's better if you come in during the week when they are not busy. I heard that they may rush you which might ruin your experience. read more
