I went here on a whim looking for a quick no chip during my lunch break. I usually do my own GelX nails at home but I am waiting for my new colors to come in, so I decided to get my nails done for the first time in 2 years. I just got engaged and I wanted some cute plain white nails...simple enough right? I guess not. I told my technician, whose name eludes me, that I wanted to keep the length of my natural nails but just round the edges. The next thing I know, the nails are all filed down SO low that it started to burn and hurt when she was using the emory board. This has literally never happened before. To cover it up, she decided it would be great to paint over a part of burned/cut off skin with gel polish and cure it. I didn't find this out until I got back to my office and noticed the paint went over my skin in a literal open wound, hence the review. What was supposed to be a simple white paint no chip mani that should take less than 45 minutes turned into an amateur-at-best hour and a half long chop job. I'm super disappointed because I really wanted to love this place, but it's just a reminder of why I do my own manicures. ‍ read more

Whew... I'm done with Jasmine nails. Vicki has been my nail stylist for the past year. I went every 2-3 weeks. I get the same length, style and color. At my recent appointment I got a fill -- my nails cut shorter but still same style and color. After she swiped my card, I notice my cost is significantly higher than what I usually pay. It's $14 less than what I pay for a full set. I bring this to her attention and Vicki begins rambling off add ons that make zero sense. For example, she said she charged me for length and to cut my nails. I shouldn't have been charged for length because my nails were cut down SIGNIFICANTLY. There was another add on she mentioned that isn't even on their price list. She told me she could remove some add ons. So I smiled, signed and walked out the door - you can't reason with someone who lacks integrity and ultimately, I knew I'd be paying the correct price. The charges were BS and American Express agrees -- I disputed the charge and got my money back. There's 50-11 nail salons in this city. There's 5 on my walk to Jasmine nails. I've been to Jasmine a few times: twice over weekday lunch breaks for no-chip and this most recent time for a fill on a Friday eve. I usually do my own gel overlays for a month or two before I get sick of it and go to a professional for a manicure with no chip. Jasmine nail techs have me done in no longer than an hour, including soak-off time. Polish has always lasted 10 days or more. This next part of the review is for Apple, who took me as a walk-in on a Friday at 5pm. I came for a fill on a set of acrylics that had been applied by a literal child ( a high-schooler--I was being supportive!). My structure was all wonky and the polish was pretty messy. Apple groaned when he saw my nails... graded the work from my previous "nail tech" a C-... and then he got to work. He filed down all the bad work and built me almost a completely new structure. He did a neat fill without flooding my cuticles and shaped up some beautiful, feminine, short almond nails. He took care of lifting spots and applied neat nude pink polish. Took him only an hour fifteen. Shocking, considering how bad my nails were when I went in. We talked about me doing the dip system in about a month or so once my nails grow out (I don't like them long but I need a bit more length so I don't have to use a tip). Worst manicure of my life. It was painful and the woman who did my manicure was aggressive and kept filing even though I told her that it was uneven, painful and crooked. I wanted a dip manicure and instead she painted the dip powder on and made a mess all over my hands and under my nails. She then had to file off the material under my nails making them even thinner. She also kept using instruments from the woman before me. I asked her to use clean ones and she continued to use the dirty ones. I cannot express enough. Stay away!!! Save your money. read more

I timed my visit here and it was 11 minutes long. All I needed was a pedicure, but when I sat down, she didn't even let my feet soak. She scrubbed my feet faster than anyone I've ever seen to the point where it was uncomfortable. Hardly used any lotion, and spent all of 30 seconds rubbing my feet. Also was constantly talking under her breath and rolling her eyes the entire time. Sorry I took 11 minutes out of your day. I'm torn on this review. The first time I visited on February 14th, the technician I had (wish I could remember her name) provided a perfect service from beginning to end. That service alone would have been 5 stars. Today I stopped by again in hopes for the same kind of service for my birthday, instead I got the exact opposite. The technician (a pregnant woman- never got her name) rushed the entire time and held a conversation with another person for the majority. Her verbal instructions were RUSHED. Her service was RUSHED. One of her regular customers came in seemingly due to a double booking and she showed no regard for her work on my nails after that. I also had to come back in the same day because a big bubble formed on one nail. The polish is not even in places and thick in areas making it look unnatural/ lumpy and not sleek like typical gel/no chips. You can literally feel the lumps of polish when you rub over them too. I'm very unhappy with my service. *One bad service can legitimately overshadow a great experience. And that's what happened today. I left that shop feeling frustrated. In the future I hope management will encourage techs not to double book so they don't rush on their customer's service and also to treat NEW customers with equal respect/consideration as a regular customer. Don't go here. Everything is dirty. They charge high prices and do a poor job. I asked for a napkin to clean the extra nail polish that was on my finger and she said, "no I'll do it for you later." I attached picture. My cuticles were not cleaned. Also a picture attached. Initially I wanted just a powder gel fill in and a clear coat on top to seal the light pink color but it couldn't be done because I noticed a big crack in my nail and she said there was nothing she could do and she had already added gel to it and it didn't fix it.... ok? I had to paint them so the crack wasn't noticeable. Not happy, sucks that this place is unprofessional because it's so convenient to everyone who works around here and so close to the train. I'm afraid this is the worst manicure I've ever paid for. The manicurist was brusque--which I don't as much care about--but also actually rough. She yanked my hands and feet, scrubbed hard to the point of pain, and clipped cuticles with no sense of caution. I nearly spoke up a few times, but didn't want to be difficult. Anyway, on the way to the dryer, one of my nails got ticked a little. She "fixed" it by glopping a ton more polish over it; it dried lumpy and odd. I stayed an extra 10 minutes under the dryer, hoping this fix would hold--and of course it dragged the very first time I touched anything afterwards. (See pic.) The manicurist argued with me about the color (I chose a light pink and she was applying a dark orange), even after the young girl that did my pedicure (very nice and great job) told her that she was wrong, the lady would not let it go. She was aggressive and when I asked the other manicurist for assistance she rolled her eyes and ignored me...another lady walks in and stands at the front door and she is ignored; she says "ok, so I'm not going to be helped?" other people sitting down were looking around like this is a weird place. I let the manager know why I wouldn't be coming back and she smiled and said, ok thanks. I work in the loop so I come to this place very often at lunchtime (twice a month!) and have always had good experiences-- until today. I will NEVER go back. One of my nails cracked last night, so today I rushed over to have it fixed as it was very salvageable still! When the nail tech sat me in a chair I explained to her that the nail was cracked and I would like for her to repair it with either glue or acrylic-- she said no problem and that she first had to take the no chip that I had off first. She was taking the no-chip manicure off so fast that she had NO REGARD for my cracked nail and RIPPED OFF THE REMAINDER OF MY NAIL. I screamed-- as its painful to have a nail ripped off at the midpoint of your finger! And she just said "Oh sorry I forgot". Are you kidding me?! The ONLY reason I came in was to have this nail fixed and I leave the salon with a bloody finger! At this point I am bleeding and have an open wound and she persists to put my hand into a bowl that contained acetone-- which was painful! She had no concern at all and just kept going on with the manicure like nothing was wrong. Then just starts to paint nail polish over my open wound to cover it up and I;m pulling away telling her not to as it will get infected! I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure nail polish over an oozing wound is not good!! At this point I'm pretty upset but I understand that mistakes happen so I suggest to her that I think my next manicure should be free once this nail grows out because this is not what I was expecting to happen. Once I suggested this she blew up on me and was yelling about how she didn't rip my nail off and that there's no way I can get a free manicure as the owner would make her pay out of her own pocket. So at the end of this whole thing I ACTUALLY HAD TO PAY FOR THIS JOKE OF A "MANICURE". The worst part of it all was that the nail tech, not once, apologized or at all sympathized. This place is convenient for me and they typically do a great job. I have my "favorites" that do special touches that I like, but overall, everyone there is friendly and does your nails fast and effectively without feeling rushed. Great selection of OPI and Essie colors and a lot of the women there are beautiful inside and out! I often feel like they spend their time with me during my appointment, but once I'm done, they want me to get out of the chair. Understandable, but a little rude at times. I like this place for the quality in relation to the price, so the fact that they are hustling doesn't bother me for affordable prices. They do excellent waxing as well. Cheap and fast! I will definitely not be going back to Jasmine's,his isn't my usual spot, but I went to Jasmine's with my mom. So I went and my mom had a good experience with a regular no chip manicure. I asked for a full set of acrylics and no chip polish. They said $44 total, and I was totally fine with that because my regular place they charge $40. So my mom's manicure was done and I told her to get my wallet to pay for mine, and she turned to me and asked how much and the lady yelled saying "it's $48!" I then looked to the lady and she said that it's because I wanted my cuticles done, well I said never mind, I've been to many salons and my regular salon and they've never charged me to push my cuticles. So I thought $4 for pushing my cuticles is utterly ridiculous. Back to my nails, when she started my manicure she didn't even clean the station, there was a woman sitting there and she finished her manicure and two minutes later she had me sit down, didn't sanitize anything and had my hands lay on the same towel as the previous woman, all my natural nails were a nice length not too long and not too short, well she cut them ALL OFF. She had cut all my natural nails to the core it hurt so bad. I asked for coffin shape and the lady said "sure," well this lady clearly didn't know what coffin shape is because they all look square, not only that, but all my nails are different lengths and widths. I'm so unhappy with everything except the color I picked. Update: my mom went back to the salon and the lady at the salon had requested that I take down my negative review, because it is "bad for business." That's not right of them to ask that. I've been going to jasmine spa for past 8 months and no other nail salon can beat this place. The employees are very friendly and quick, thorough with the nails. $15 for nails, which is pretty good compared to other ones in the loop. If you mistakenly mess up the nails right after you leave the shop, they kindly redo it for you. I wouldn't recommend doing the luxury spa. I couldn't feel the difference between regular pedicure process and luxury besides the fact that they put scrubbing material on your legs and massage you. Massaging isn't their big strength, so I would recommend you to do just to mani pedi. You get to use the massaging chair while getting pedi and it's the best!:) so relaxing. read more

Prefacing my review with the fact that I went during a very busy time which their "happy hour" which means 20% off your service I felt really rushed the entire time I was getting my nails done. The lady who was running the store seemed really out of sorts and was the one that ended up doing my nails. I barely soaked my nails and she was already working away at my cuticles. She didn't cut me, but the filing was all uneven. While she was painting on the shellac, it was pretty messy but I was momentarily relieved when she started to use a small brush to wipe away the mistakes. However, after I walked out of the store, I could tell she didn't get it all because now some of my skin is stuck to the nail. I was looking forward to the ending hand massage which turned out to be her dipping a paint brush in some mysterious bottle filled with oil and swiping and patting at my hands. There was no massage, and I only knew the service was done because she ended it by saying, "Yay!" This still would have been a 3 Star review because the nails look okay from afar and other staff seemed very nice, but I was charged $33. I'm just appalled that such minimal service could cost so much. I'm definitely not coming back here. I used to get my nails done here over the years because they are super quick and not too expensive (during their happy hour). But the last 3 times I have been, have been absolutely terrible. They rush through the manicure/no chip so fast, the quality of work in almost non-existent. My no-chip chipped the same day and there was no more shine on some of my nails. They were nice on my first visit and my nails came out okay. I thought it'd be fine to visit a second time for a no chip manicure & regular pedicure, but I was wrong. The coats of no chip polish are inconsistent, it's unnecessarily thick, you can see horizontal and vertical brush strokes, and there are sides of my nails she clearly missed/didn't apply no chip polish. I thought after a few hours my nails wouldn't seem so bad, but I was so disgusted I called to let them know my nails were messed up and I was dissatisfied. They said come back to the shop so they could take a look and when I returned later that day their idea of fixing my nails was buffing two of them, then reapplyi the top coat. They still look poor. See for yourself... Today (2/22/19)- I returned to the shop at the owner's request to fix my nails and they did just that. I'm happy and my nails look better. I commend the owners for reaching to ask how can they resolve my issue. They were pleasant when I returned to the shop to have my nails fixed and they were incredibly understanding. First time in today. I got a gel manicure, and the lady who did my nails did her best to make them look perfect. She layered on perfect coats of polish, and made sure to cover edge to edge all the way up to my cuticles. My only complaint is that she didn't round my nails 100% evenly--they are all very slightly more rounded on the left side, which drives my perfectionist tendencies crazy but I'm betting no one else would even notice. I also want to note that there was another woman in the salon today who wasn't very happy. She complained about every single thing possible. Example: her gel polish started to chip after 3 weeks last time (gels only supposed to last ~2 wks), this nail has like 2 less pieces of glitter than the other nail, I don't like the design after all (after I listened to her tell the nail tech she LOVED the first nail the tech did), etc... Now, I sat right next to her and saw her nails. I'm a perfectionist and I would have told her that her nails looked fantastic. Nevertheless, the woman who did her nails explained the life of gel polish, put more glitter on, and did her best to add on to the nail design to make her happy. BUT she still wasn't, and the nail tech and manager agreed to let her leave without paying a dime! That's good customer service in my eyes, even if the patron didn't deserve it. read more
