I came here to get a no-chip acrylic mani/ pedi based off my roommates recommendation. ($40/22) I loved that the salon was in a shopping plaza relatively close to my neighborhood (West Loop) which meant it had free parking. Pricing is cheaper in comparison to most downtown nail salons and they do a considerably better job. I was done with my service in about an hour. (I would have liked my pedi to be longer as that's when i like to relax.) Considering i got a brand new acrylic no-chip full set plus a pedi i was still please with the quality in the amount of time it took. I'm giving it 4 stars from the appearance of the salon. (People get their waxing procedures openly in the room) and they charged me an extra $5 for my nail shape. (Almond shape. Now i don't mind paying a fee to change the shape , but seeing as this was my first full set with no shape established, I don't believe they should charge for the shape.) Good job, wish they had a rewards program. read more

Carol is the best!!! Thank you! Carol has great attention to detail and always takes her time on my nails. I appreciate her dedication to the color, shape, and length of my nails. I always leave happy with the outcome of my nails. Also I didn't get my eyebrows done this time, but I also wanted to mention that Jenny is really good at doing eyebrows. They always come out with a good shape to them. Thanks again! read more

Cheap but after getting my brows done I got a bit of fungal acne around the area after having clear skin weeks prior. There was a girl who went before me and there were other people in line, can't be positive that everything was sanitized correctly. You really do get what you pay for so I suggest you spend the extra couple of bucks and go elsewhere because they might just give you ringworm next time. read more

Tragic Nails Don't go here, they rush & make tons of mistakes, 5 minutes in the pedicure tech cut me, then got an attitude lol. Both her and the female who did my nails started grabbing my hands like a football player because she was upset I pointed out a glaring issue. The no chip I got looks like the polish is dripping off and all the finger nails on the left hand are longer than the right hand. I always remain grateful and humble, I was calmly asking for corrections and they said my finger was fat ??? They then blamed the bumpy polish on the color... lol. (It's their polish though, and appeared to be a brand new gel polish bottle). I'm just personally not paying them for services ever again. Also they used old files and refused to just say one simple thing, sorry; and/or, are you happy with how it looks? I ended up still saying thank you afterwards, and the Chinese lady just snared at me. Im a grown woman and my husband works too hard for me to ever give them another dime. Ok last part of my rant lol, They made me wait almost an hour for another tech.. instead of putting me next when I was mid-pedicure... (after the first tech thru a tantrum). That young lady fixed my toes polish after the initial tech cussed me out in Chinese. Long story short, that tech was able to fix the polish on my toes no problem... confirmation that first tech was just tripping and highly unprofessional blaming me for her lack of performance. I'm so sweet and can't relate to greedy jealous women with no manners ... do better read more

Melanated women, we must do better! Firstly, though this nail shop is located within our community, and we account for majority of their clientele, THEY DO NOT RESPECT US, AT ALL. When you call to schedule an appointment, the really thin female that usually works in the front performing eyebrow and/or lash services answers the phone with the nastiest tone and energy. She has never been pleasant - in-person or via phone. When you walk in, there is no eye contact, no smile or greeting, she just says, "What you getting?" I've been serviced here multiple times (because it was close to my home and I was prioritizing convenience over quality). That ends today. I will NEVER patronize this NASTY, UNCLEAN, UNSANITIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL establishment again. Half of the staff are untrained... I've been cut before on my foot during a pedicure and on my hand during a nail extension service. Black women, we have to do better. If we continue to support this business, they will continue to offer underwhelming service without any accountability. The Customer Service SUCKS! The Nail Services are subpar and the establish is dirty. I have 1 star because it was required in order to move forward with the review. My most organic star rating would be 0. read more

Today was my first and last time getting my nails done here. The service was walk-in and quite quick. The nail table was dirty and the tools did not appear to be getting disinfected after each customer. When he was done cleaning my cuticles, the nail tech sprayed alcohol on my fingers and was going to use the same dirty terry towel he laid out on the dirty table that he'd used while removing my old nail polish. I asked him to use a paper towel. He used the machine to file off my polish but made my nail so thin that it broke hours later, very low - which is super painful and going to take weeks to grow out. read more

Terrible made me bleed twice and tried to make me pay for the service. Fun bc sad b he Ben's

This Nail Salon is taking advantage of the black community by taking their money & not providing good customer service. On top of that, during Covid they have NO safety measures in place, no hand sanitizer on hand, they pack the salon, continuously allowing more & more people to enter, half the people walk in without masks, their not wiping down in surfaces being used by customers, people are forced to sit super close together...I found a load of ants crawling on the floor - brought it to an employee's attention and she did nothing. She did not look into it, she did not sweep, she merely asked me to sit at another station, then proceeded in allowing another customer to sit at that same station. I did not receive any customer service upon arriving or leaving. Again, they're TAKING ADVANTAGE of the black community - taking black people's money & not caring about service or safety. I don't even recall the employee who was doing lashes...washing her hands after touching each customer's face. It sucks that the Black community wants beauty so bad that they can't see that this salon does NOT care about clients. This salon needs to be shutdown for a wake up call! They should be taking appointments ONLY & making sure the spa is CLEAN & has some separation between guest stations. They also NEED to enforce wearing masks during this Pandemic. I will NEVER go here again & I'm mad that I even paid for my manicure, that was only sub par at best. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS, until they make the necessary changes in cleanliness, service and care. read more

Okay so, if you are getting acrylics here YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS 1. They have curved AND straight tips - so tell them which ones you want before your service. 2. If you want them to do your cuticles and stuff you have to ask for an "additional manicure" with your service which is $10 I went there one day and did not know any of this and my nails were horrible so I went back the next day and told them I wasn't informed and I'm really happy about my new set! Just disgusting The whole place is so dirty piling up with the residue. It's overstuffed . I went to the station to get my eyebrow wax. She double dipped my stick. I asked her if she dipped the wax that wax stick was sitting there! She had been using that stick probably all day not to mention she had a new gloves, no mask nothing just all up in my face. Her whole station was dirty I, didn't even resume my eyebrows not to mention the station where I got my nails done was just hideous literally super disgusting there was someone left their soda there. There was old nails with the person's real human nail on the floor just a mess. Literally a whole trap shop. They need to get it together just disgusting literally so much dirt. I have so many great things to say about this shop. I love how they keep order of their walk in. You have to sign in, and they call customers by order. Today, I was so lucky to get Liam as a nail tech. He is the absolute best nail tech at Magic Nail (besides Jenny of course:) he did my nails so fast as I was chatting with my friend. He suggested that I trim my nails, get gel instead of regular acrylic, and get no chip polish instead of regular polish. I've been wanting to get no chip polish, and trim my nails so I'm glad he made those suggestions. My nails came out fabulous. He did everything so freaking fast. He made sure to put cuticle oil on my nails after he polished my nails. Seriously, I've had 3 different nail techs, and they were all great. However, it's something about Liam that is amazing. His customer service is perfect. I'm looking forward to my next appointment/visit in 2 weeks. read more

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon and got my old nails removed and new set of ombré nails . They charged me extra $5 for the coffin shape but all in all I paid $55 which was very reasonable. I went here because my regular place was all booked. I had my acrylics and pedicure and everything was going smoothly until I started noticing my "coffin" shape that I was getting. I started telling myself just let her finish maybe it will get fixed, BUT it didn't. My polish looks HORRIBLE!!! AND the Shape is AWFUL. My nails didn't looked anything like what I had requested. Ok, so I usually don't leave reviews but y'all-- REAL review time. They rush all their services, my no chip manicure & pedicure did not last AT ALL & I paid $91 total for everything because they asked if I wanted a "spa massage." which is a complete rip off as well. My nails are cut uneven and they don't even ask how you want your nails cut! YALL AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Please avoid this place as much as you could, it's not worth the waste of money. read more

Each time I go, the service and wait time gets worse and worse! The second to last time I went, the lady who worked on my nails was "new", slow, and completely jacked up my color. I had to come back the next day because what she fixed was still messed up and the owner had to repaint my nails. For some reason, I went back this past Monday and was taken care of by another woman who was also very slow moving, didn't know how to shape nails, and painted very sloppy! I will not be back! Their prices are nice, but the dirty shop and unskilled workers are just unacceptable! read more

Well the overall customer service sucks! The young lady that does the eyebrows at the front has the nastiest attitude I've ever seen. They do not accept feedback well, their product is trash. The no chip polish in particular chips the days of service, when trying to get the issue solidified they make it as if it's your fault. I do not recommend! PS 1 star is being generous. Also if you're not a regular they send you to the worst people therefore if they try to send you to the back be aware that you will not be happy with the results read more

I was skeptical of this plafe because of the reviews, however I thought I'd give it a chance since it's right in my neighborhood! And boy I LOVED IT!! I visited the salon as a walk in customer and was extremely disappointed in the quality of the service I received. During my visit I found the manager or owner (a young lady) to be very condescending and rude. She asked my 3 times whether I had acrylic on my nails as they attempted to remove my no-chip manicure. I assured her that I didn't but she insisted as though I didn't know. Next, she gave me directions on hand washing techiniques after my manicurist already gave instructions. Lastly, she thought it appropriate to alert me of my lack of recognition of shades of pink. Also, another customer walked in to complain about a recent visit. She used a low tone so you couldn't hear the nature of the complaint. After she left, the manager told her colleagues, loudly, that the customer's complaint was no fault of the salon. I thought that showed poor character. I had my no-chip for no more than 48 hours and the color began to change horribly. I will never return to this establishment. read more

First time here.... I loved it! I got my pedicure done by Sam, and my nails and eyebrows by ivy(I think that's her name). I waited after 5 days before I decided to write this review, and my gel manicure has not chipped! This WAS my go to nail shop until today! I made an appointment for my daughter last night with the nail tech that sits at table #6 because he's done her nails several times and when we get there at 11:55am, he's finishing up with someone and he saw us come in and when he finished with the client, he tells another lady to sit down. Mind you I had already talked to him and he acknowledged that he knew we were there and he tried to tell me the lady that was sitting had an appointment but she was late. So instead of honoring my appointment, he continues I do the lady's nails. So I go to speak to Jenny and she was not any help at all. It's very sad that you spend money at these shops and they have the least bit of customer service. After being a customer for over a year, I was beyond pissed offSo I left and will never go back to this nail shop ever again!!! read more

I was having a bad day & decided to stop in & get a no-chip manicure. At first, I was worried because people were complaining about the prices. I then looked at the sign which specifically lists the prices, so don't know why people were complaining. This isn't the flea market where you can hustle the price. Sam did my manicure & although he has a different approach, he did an excellent job. Precise and fast, yet the quality work was all there. I would recommend this place to friends. read more

The service for waxing for good. I was disappointed with my nail service due to the technician wanting to use a false nail to remove colored gel that was on my real nails. I asked him to soak my nails and his response was that it would take a long time. I didn't care about the time.
