This place is really magic. Kelly did my nails and I've never been happier!! My pedicure was calming and gentle and not pokes and prods I get other places. They were very kind and not pushy at all. They did exactly what I wanted. When I arrived they had a nice cold bottle of water for me and I didn't wait more than 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place. I like this nail salon. They're über friendly & accommodating, & I like that it's smaller, maybe 10ish nail stations & fewer pedi chairs. It's quieter than larger salons, & more relaxing. I eventually got exactly what I wanted, which was rebase with both middle fingers a diff color than the rest with charms I brought from home, & all others matching each other in color & simple design (swirl). The language barrier can become an issue if you're wanting designs or anything atypical, so definitely have photos ready!!! It can be frustrating for both the nail tech and the customer in these situations, but this salon goes above & beyond others to understand. I wonder if they'd consider using an app like iTranslate or something to help? For medical reasons I won't go into, I have an increased difficulty hearing & understanding, even in my own language. I'm constantly asking "what?" -- sometimes 3-4 times, so I always feel bad & like I'm frustrating them, but they always do everything in their power to communicate effectively. I've been to other nail salons where they simply refuse what I'm requesting bc they don't understand what I'm saying. But, again, here they go above & beyond to make sure we understand each other. I've been coming to Magic Nails for many years now and it rarely disappoints!! Everything about them is wonderful: 1. it is always super clean in the shop 2. they have a great variety of colors (with lots of OPI which I love) 3. their massage chairs are super comfortable 4. they have the best prices in town 5. they give you a cold bottle of water upon walking in 6. they speak English fluently, keep comfortable conversation with their clients, and do not chatter among each other while working 7. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, they use individually wrapped nail tools, not public tools that they disinfect in a cup!! They are the first nail shop I have ever been to that does this! The only concern I have is that I usually pay for my services before they apply my nail polish, and I have noticed that they rush through and finish once I have payed, which ends up making some of the nails look a little careless. Went in to get a rebase and the gentleman talked me into a color. I pointed out that I broke a tip and need it replaced. After he cut my nails way too short he applied the acrylic. Turns out this acrylic wouldn't dry so he had to start all over. The broken nail still not replaced and he started over. Once again he filed my nails by this time it's the 3rd time they had been filed today and he put clear acrylic over them. My nails look terrible. They charged me 35 dollars for their mistakes and it took an hour and 10 minutes. I'm so upset. My nails look like shit and they are way too short. First time I had a bad experience but boy was it bad. The guy did a horrible job with filing and buffing my nails. And the leg and foot massage was terrible. I am 9 months pregnant so really needed a good foot scrub....well that didnt happen. I did pay $25 which is a nice price but they never asked me if I wanted to upgrade the regular pedi which I did. But I think they prefer the lesser one so that they can move people on and out quicker. if you just want a paint job this place is fine but just pay for a toe paint and skip the rest. Will not return. There is a spa not far from here that offers more services. I am headed home not satisfied but not angry. You get what you pay for and this place needs to offer more and go up on the pedi services because wanting to offer cheap prices mean they skip on service. read more

They are always so nice here. I get laquer nails. The first station, I give 5 stars. My nails always look so nice when she does them and she is a joy to talk to. I love getting pedis done here too. I usually hate pedis because the chairs are uncomfortable and my feet are sensitive. But I really love getting pedis here. The BEST massage chair EVER. My toes look great, and it was just wonderful. I only gave it 3 stars because a place have to be extremely exceptional in order for me to give it 5 stars. And it got docked another star because the last 2 times I got my nails done, the back station lady did my nails and they looked horrible both times and didn't last long. Went in for just a pedi. While the place itself is nice my tech definitely did not give a rats ass about what she was doing. She barely removed any cuticle, didn't shape the nails, did a sorry job smoothing the skin on my heels and when she used the exfoliating scrub on my legs she rubbed the same spot over and over and over. Right up and down my shin bone until it was almost raw and barely touched anywhere else on my leg. It was not pleasant or relaxing and I basically paid $25 for someone to paint my toe nails. This was my first time here and I have absolutely NO REGRETS. I came here based on yelp reviews and found it to be 100% true to everyone's word. The moment I walked in, I was automatically greeted and felt welcomed. I had a full set of acrylics done and an amazing pedicure as well. Kelly started on my manicure and every step of the way ensured it was exactly what I wanted and had asked for. She was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. I then moved to have my pedicure done and Kelly finished my nails. She was great to talk with and every member of the staff was warm and inviting. I didn't get the chance to catch the name of the tech who had done my pedicure but she took her time (not at all a bad thing) and did an amazing job. I felt like she worked quickly but not enough to feel rushed. Never have I experienced such great customer service. Overall, I paid I believe $52 for both my pedicure and my full set of acrylics which isn't bad considering I've paid about $40 elsewhere for half of the work that I had done today. I have been going to this place for years and I love it. I am always telling my friends to go here too. But yesterday I did not have a good experience. I went in for a rebase. I had on black nail polish and wanted French acrylic tips. The guy, Jay, did my nails and did a terrible job. He did not remove all of the back nail polish so now all I see is random black lines under my clear nail polish. He did not smooth out the powder that they put on so now I have some nails that are thicker and taller than other nails that are flat. The worst part was when he was using the pointed drill to clean under my nails. He gouged that thing right in between my right ring finger nail and skin. To which I started bleeding and now I get to deal with a throbbing pain anytime I get soap or anything under my nail. On top of all of that when he had me sit down in the chair I had to sit there for over 5 minutes and wait for him to talk and hang out with these 2 girls that came to see him. He was also coughing up a lung the whole time. I will be going back today to talk to the owner and tell her that I am not happy and want HER to fix it. I will make sure he will never be allowed to touch my nails again. Unbelievable. read more

Staff is ok. That's the only good thing I have to say. I went in to get my nails done and paid 55 dollars. I walked out happy and later that same day one of my nails broke I don't even know how. I just remember seeing a broken nail. I called the next day to set up an appointment to fix it, she said it would be free so I went in and the lady (Ann) Told me to come back the next day even though I had called in prior to walking in because they were too busy. It's hit and miss with this shop. They are very good at honoring appointments or fitting in walk-ins but nail quality is inconsistent. One full set lasted weeks and the shape (coffin) was beautiful. My mom goes to this nail shop, and loves it--so let me preface my review with that. I went to Magic Nails since my mom loves it and gave it a great recommendation saying it was clean (most important) and that her nails always turn out great. She gets laquer, I get pink & white acrylic. I went there for the first time this week for a pink and white fill. I wasn't in love with the fill-job from the get-go--the style of the nail was completely different from what I had originally had. The white was super thick, and a few of the nail shapes were totally off, which I brought to the attention of the tech and she fixed. Then, the gel "coating" came out of a nail polish bottle and literally looked like it was only clear nail polish. When I left the shop, I thought that the white tip of the nails looked a little "dirty"--had a gray tinge. I realized that the tech had not drilled down the acrylic enough to remove the pink layer of acrylic from the white. I figured I'd get used to it. Nope. So, my mom advised me just to go back and ask them to drill it down a little bit and re-coat with gel. I approached the tech very nicely, explained the situation quietly (it was packed in there, didn't want anyone to know about a service problem). She told me it must be my self tanner that made the nails change color, to which I replied that I don't use self tanner, and the problem had already existed before I left the shop the day I got my nails done, but I was hoping it was just bad lighting. Then I waited about 5 minutes, and she removed the gel, sends me to the UV light, and paints my nails with the gel again. Before she starts painting I point out to her that the discoloration is actually in the powder, not the gel. What did she tell me? That I would have to wait for my NEXT FILL to get it fixed. I just got my nails done 3 days ago--so I have to wait 3 WEEKS walking around with off-colored nails that literally look dingy? That was a waste of $30. She said this to me in front of other customers, too, who were just as appalled with her reply. So, I won't be going back there. They got an A-ok rating from me because my mom loves it and has never had a problem (which is the biggest reason I didn't fight the tech to the death to fix my nails--i dont want to ruin any future experiences for my mom!) read more

The previous reviews are accurate and similar to my experience. I called for an appointment at 5:15 p.m. on a Tuesday and they fit me in at 6:30 p.m. The establishment closed at 7:00 p.m. but they were happy to take walk in's at 6:45 p.m. There were several customers that came in after I did and they did not turn anyone away. I had a full set of the acrylic nails put on and I do prefer my nails long but most establishments in that area are not use to customers wanting long nails but I will work with them to get them the length that I prefer. I would highly recommend and I will return. Here are the highlights. 1. They greet you and provide a refreshment. 2. They do prefer checks or cash. I do understand why, I work in finance and merchant fees are expensive. They charge businesses a flat merchant fee "%" depending on the type of card and the issuer of the card. This can add up to thousands of dollars a month and for a small business this can mean higher prices. These prices are passed on to the consumer and if they are requesting cash or check they can avoid the merchant fees associated with accepting credit cards and keep the prices low. Not knowing this I only had a credit card. I apologized several times but they understood. I told them in the future I promise to bring cash or a check! I felt awful but they didn't make me feel bad at all! 3. They listen. 4. Very clean. 5. Ann was my nail technician and she did a fantastic job. 6. Walk in's welcome but I felt contempt for the technicians who were there all day long with the expectation that the salon closed at 7:00 p.m. and people were walking in minutes before they closed. Not appropriate to walk in minutes before they close. They should be able to go home and not stay because the lack of planning. They were all professional and took care of everyone who walked in before close. 7. Great customer service. read more

Worse experience of my life. I have been going here for months to get my nails done. Friday evening they talked me into getting my lip waxed for my big holiday party on Saturday night. They bunted my skin I have a 1st degree burn that required medical attention.
