I went to Magic Cup the very first night that it opened and I was sooo excited. I live in a neighborhood fairly close to the location so I've seen the entire process of Magic Cup being constructed. However, i was disappointed. I ordered the House Milk Tea and what I got was a warm and watered down pre-made milk tea. I didn't expect it to be perfect because it was a pretty hectic and busy grand opening soo I came back! It tasted the same!!!!! There are about 5 bajillion other tapioca shops right down the street so I will not be coming back. My friends ordered kimchi fries and after a while they said that their stomachs were starting to hurt. On a good note, the scene at Magic Cup is poppin. It is so spacious and the seats and tables are so cool -the booths light up! read more

Was pretty excited to see another tapioca place opening up in this part of Houston mostly to see how they would compare to my favorite two spots from down the street(Boba zone and Kravin fruit bar) The place was nice and modern on the inside but it seemed pretty hectic behind the counter, being that there was about 10-15 employees working, I would assume that the amount should be more than enough to handle to hand the small amount of people ordering, I ordered the milk tea and the kimchi fries and was not impressed at all, the milk tea was below average and I couldn't even finish the fries, I'll probably just stick to Boba Zone and Kravin read more

Yesterday was my first time trying this place out & I loved it! I was craving for some beignets & their magic puffs did the job! The kimchi fries were really good, except their was too much kimchi & not enough fries. Also, the little Hispanic girl who took our order was rude & looked like she hated her life. But other than that, everyone else so kind & even offered us to stay sitting outside on the patio after closing to continue chatting! I'll def be back soon read more

Magic Cup - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

While in the midst of an epic Chinatown food crawl, my girlfriends and I decided we needed something healthy, so we ordered a cha watermelon from Magic Cup... ...with a side of "Magic Puffs" (help.). The watermelon-based drink is actually Mexican influenced, with chili powder mixed in. It also came with a spicy, zingy tamarind cha moy straw. The candied straw had the texture and taste of a spicy Fruit Rollup. Mixed in with the textured, slushy, fresh watermelon drink, the flavor contrast was divine! The magic puffs smelled and tasted like funnel cake. They were pure unadulterated delicious doughy fried goodness, and we had no regrets. (but maybe a little). Magic Cup is a fun little stop with interesting, unique drinks, and sinful, delicious "puffs"! read more

I came here on a Sunday when it was not super busy. I asked for a Jasmine tea. The staff member kept telling me I wanted Jasmine MILK tea in which I said I wanted Regular tea no milk. He told me he got it and I proceeded to wait around at least 15 minutes in the drive through line. I ended up getting milk in my tea still and was very disappointed. I also ordered a viet coffee and had it with 50 % less sugar. The drink was too sweet and I've had better at many other places. Overall did not have a good experience both times I tried this place and will not likely return. read more

Don't try any drink with "sea foam". The milky cream and sea salt concoction does not taste great together. I couldn't finish my drink and sadly will be throwing my $4 drink in their trash. The Kimchi fries had very little kimchi taste and too much onions. Should have just called it onion fries. Overall, food and drink experience was not pleasant. Most likely will not return. read more

I am not a food reviewing person, so I have never gone online to leave comments and stuffs. It doesn't mean that I liked all the places I have tried, but they never reached my limit to actually leave a comment. Magic Cup was the first place encouraged me to put enough of effort to create an account and type a review. First of all, I like the atmosphere in the shop. Unlike others said, it wasnt a mess. Everything was well organized and clean. My very first thought was like wow this is a nice place to chill or enjoy my days off with my friends. They have the drive thru system which is a plus, so i dont have to worry about parking and getting out of my car anymore. I really thought it was my go-to place. I was kinda hesitated deciding what to get for my drink. My friend got a passion blast and she told me that the chamango was their well known signature drink. It was almost 10 dollars for two 16oz drinks, a little bit more expensive than my expectation. Anyway, it wouldn't be a matter, if those drinks were decent. Otherwise, I couldn't taste anything besides the sourness of my chamango!!!!?? Like super duper sour tho. Honestly, I have a sweet tooth, so I wasn't sure it was me or it was actually because of their drink. I asked my friends to try it. They all said it was sour. Unlike the chamango, passion blast was so sweet that i could barely taste the fruity flavor. They put lime and tea in it. Even when they had already mentioned it on the menu, but it was just a weird and untasty combination.. We did not like it!!? We went home and put a lot of sugar in my chamango but I still begged my friend to trade me her drink. They are both not good but at least the passion blast wasnt hard to handle. It was funny because we didn't finish our drinks anyway. I am still clueless about their snacks, since I didn't try it yet. So, will I come back?? Yes, like i said, I like enjoying the vibe there with my group. However, I would say NO if I was trying to grab a beverage on my hot days cause I know it is gonna piss me off badly. read more

I call this place Boba Zone West. Cause really, this place is just like Boba Zone except they're further down Bellaire with a much larger space. They've got the drive-thru, the McDonald's worker army setup that lets them churn out drinks, and much of the same menu including coffee, random snacks, and mangonadas. Drinks here seem to be slightly higher in quality, but also more expensive. Still pretty meh though. The House Milk Black Tea ($4.25 w/ tapioca) was an earl grey milk tea with condensed milk. Not bad actually, with noticeable earl grey tea flavor and a balanced amount of creamyness. It is premade/prechilled but there's no problem with that since they don't seem to put milk powder in it. Tapioca was cooked well, slightly sweet, and fairly fresh. Worth the extra dollar over Boba Zone perhaps. The Cha-mango ($4.95 for 16 oz) was uhh... pretty nasty. Maybe I just don't like mangonadas, but I actually liked the chamoy and tamarind straw parts. I think it was how syrupy and fake the mango slush tasted, which is odd because they have fresh mangos on display. Maybe the mango bits are real and the slush is fake. The Fruit Tea Madness ($3.95 for 16 oz) was quite sane compared to others I've seen (find Go Go Ice!). Yeah the fruit tea is refreshing and not too sweet, but there's barely any fruit in here. You've got some fresh strawberry and mango bits, but then the rest is "fruit" coconut or konjac jellies. read more

I came here and ordered a regular thai tea, only to be given a thai green tea instead, but that's okay since i haven't tried it yet. The drink was pretty good, so i'm not complaining. Otherwise, it is an okay place, nothing different from any other tapioca place i've been to. I've tried most of the milk teas and they were pretty good from time to time, but are mostly too sweet in my opinion. My best pick would probably be the thai tea. I do like how there is a smaller size and a bigger size. The food is pretty good, but i don't think the quantity was worth the price. Although, they do have a nice atmosphere to hang out at with an outdoor patio and lots of room. It is always packed though. There is lots of good natural lighting for all you people who likes to take pictures LOL. I would come again because compared to the other places, this is fairly close to where i live, so that is also a plus. read more

Magic cup catered my wedding and they were perfect. Everything was tasty and they were super professional. Employees are friendly, service is quick and store is kept clean. They also offer a lot of games to play. Join their rewards program for discounts, free treats and drinks. No punch card required; just punch in your number. My favorite drinks: Thai green milk tea at 50% sugar and cha mango (only when mango is in season). Their cafe frappe and other coffee drinks are exceptional as well and better than most other places in bellaire. Their mixed fruit teas are super refreshing. Only gripe is food is average although the wings were soaked in sauce once (way too much and liquidy). I don't mind since I usually go to magic cup for dessert only. read more

So far so good, I'm glad there's a milk tea place down this way away from all the bad bellaire traffic. Their calamari and chicken nuggets are good. The Thai green tea, regular milk tea, and vanilla Oreo shake aren't bad either. The coffee is usually in smoothie form so I think you have to specify if you'd like it a different way. There's also quite a wait for the food, it's fresh but don't expect to be in and out really quickly in the drive thru if you ordered food. read more

I love this place and find myself coming here often. Definitely recommend the matcha green tea milk tea or the frappe, bobs is good, and the voodoo chicken is bomb! I've also tried their Thai green tea but it was a taste that I personally didn't enjoy, the taro milk tea is yummy, and the lavender vanilla latte was subtle and good. Order some magic puffs if you're wanting a guilty pleasure ;) read more

Very well lit, amazing service! Great hangout spot and really good food and drinks! (:

Came to Magic Cup after eating Korean BBQ with my boyfriend's family. I ordered the Honey Milk Tea and we received our order quickly. I enjoyed the drink but I felt that they put too much ice in it, so there was not much of the drink to enjoy. It's a bit disappointing but my overall experience was not bad. I also love how their cups have a Christmas theme on them, it's cute and makes it unique. Overall, I give this a 3 out of 5 star rating just because I wish there was less ice in my milk tea. read more

I wanted to try their Thai milk green tea but was told it was sold out, and I asked how long it'll take for a new batch to be made, and the cashier said "severals hours" well damn. Guess if you're looking to get that, go to Phi they never run out. However, my friend got a drink and it was called the "cha watermelon" was pretty good. Will come back to try other "cha drinks" and hopefully get to try out their Thai green milk tea here! read more

My favorite milk tea place right now. I always order the same drink: thai green milk tea with half sugar and light ice. I've tried the cha-mango drink as well thinking it would be like a mangonada but was disappointed. It was too sweet and not good. The fruit tea was okay, but wouldn't recommend it. The food here is decent as well. The kimchi fries with bacon and an egg added are good and so are the voodoo chicken nuggets. The asian garlic wings were a bust. The wings didn't have much flavor to them at all and there was only a small hint of garlic. The wing sauce was watery as well. There are plenty of games available for play. It's a good spot to come with friends to drink milk tea and play games. So my top recommendations: 1) Thai green milk tea 2) Voodoo Chicken 3) kimchi fries with bacon and an egg added read more

Giving this place a five star rating is probably a bit extreme considering I only got a Thai iced tea. Well actually it was a Thai iced bubble tea. It cost me about $4.50 and normally I would find that pretty expensive except this was probably one of the better drinks I've had in a while. The cool thing about this place is that there is a drive-through, kind of like a Starbucks, only infinite Lee less terrible. I wish we had these in Austin because I would definitely come back here. I can't wait to come back and try something else but if you have a chance definitely check this place out read more

I'm loving this place. Each time I step in, I am greeted by the friendly staff and see pictures of great food and drinks on their menu. They tend to keep up with trends as well and bring up some new drinks once in a while. One time when Pokemon Go first came out, they dressed some drinks and named them after pokemon. I first heard of this place because they serve mangonadas. They still do! I've had one and it was delicious. I have also had the avocado and coconut taro smoothies and they were filled to the top rim of the cup. The milk teas and thai green milk tea was pretty great too. They also have white tapioca which is something new to me and it wasn't bad. It's a little sweeter than the normal black tapioca. read more

Absoloutely love this place! Located on the edge of bellaire, so much parking space and not too busy. I love that the atmosphere is very chill, and its such a good place to either catch up with a friend or to read a book. Ooo also if youre a fan of kpop, they were playing a bunch of bts and big bang music! They also had a bunch of board games to play on a countertop. Price wise: drinks are a little on the pricey side, but 4 dollars for a smoothie seems to be the norm these days. I love the cha mango smoothie and would definietly recommend it if you like trying new things. Combining spicy/salty and sweet in one drink, i really enjoyed the new combination that was both refreshing and filling. The mango is very sweet and tart and would also taste good on its own. I also ordered the pork belly banh mi and I would come back just for the banh mi. Only three dollars, but more than enough to fill you up. With a crisp and crunchy outerlayer, the inside and the mix of pork belly and cucumbers and carrots was chewy. I was however disappointed by the kimchi fries. The fried were wimpy looking and alas tasted soggy and limp. I dont usually eat kimchi so the fact that the fries had little tiny bits of kimchi didnt bother me, but the cheese was not melted well nor gooey but was hard. Overall, i would recommend going for banh mi and the cha mangos but i think if you go for normal boba, it is a little pricey. Would def go again though! read more

I've been going here for a few years and love it. Even before I started yelping on this app. The only reason I decided today was because I just got a drink. And they recently started a point system with ur phone number. And I also gave them my bday and my bday is next week so I was allowed to get my free bday drink a week before it. And right after, they ask me if I want a free Taro drink and of course. I accepted, so happily accepted too! It means they probably messed up someone else's drink lmao. And If u go here, definitely try their bacon burrito or kimchi fries. Really good! read more

I love my visits to Magic Cup! I love their drinks, they're very unique, fun, and just as good as a drink can get. I've gotten the: Cha Mango: My sisters' personal favourite. We like how the drink looks and tastes, but we love how they used real cubed mangoes in their drinks. Cha Strawberry: Liked it a lot! Although it was a little sour than a usual strawberry drink, we thought it deserved it's limelight under the Cha Drinks. Thai Green Milk Tea: My personal favourite! I usually never finish my drink in one sitting, so I usually take my drink back home. When you first get it, I love how sweet it is. Now, when I say that, I don't mean it's overly sweet lol. What I mean is that the drink is just the right amount of sweet to cover up the slight bitter taste that green tea can have. So even after taking my drink back home and after I've added more ice to my drink to keep it out and cool, it's still sweet. Granted, it'll be watered down, but the sweetness is just right for me after having this drink for a while. (I'm nasty, I know hehe) Kiwi Green: Loved the fruits! The drink itself is refreshing and I loved how they added real cubed fruit to the drink. The fruit didn't overcrowd the drink nor did it feel like they were holding back. Tropical Paradise: Erm, I wouldn't really recommend this drink. I have nothing against orange juice, but I don't like overpriced orange juice in disguise of a fancy drink. That's what this was xD Wintermelon Sea Foam: I honestly thought I ordered a Watermelon Sea Foam drink, and was bewildered for the longest time wondering why my drink didn't look or taste like a watermelon drink xDD But despite my confusion, I drank it all because it was a good drink! The sea foam didn't really add much to the wintermelon taste, but it wasn't bad o: Mocha/Cafe Frappe: Not much to say.. It was a good drink, nothing too special. I may be a big fan of their drinks, but I'm not so keen on their snacks. I've tried their: Voodoo Chicken: For the price, the portion isn't worth it. It's good, but you can find better chicken elsewhere for a better price. Kimchi Fries: I quite liked it, but I wouldn't go back again for it? Asian Garlic Wings: The flavours are all there, but I devoured it all in under 10 minutes. TL;DR for snacks: The portions are small, and the food isn't worth the price. The setting is really nice, I love both the inside and outside. I also love how they incorporated board games. It becomes a really nice board game spot that my friends and family frequent. TL;DR If you know what you want and like, the drinks are really nice. I gave it a four stars because despite their nice ambiance/setting and their drinks, I think their snack menu can be worked on. read more

Ordered the voodoo chicken and strawberry peach fruit slush with boba. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce that comes along with it, was delicious. The fruit slush was soooo good. The mangos and strawberries were fresh and it was blended well. The boba was delicious as well. I left the drink on the counter for a bout 30 minutes and it didn't turn into that watery slime slushes do after just sitting. Can't wait to try more things from the menu! read more

I order the Asian garlic wings and Kimchi fries along with an iced matcha green tea. The wing sauce was okay to me, nothing special. Would I come back? Probably not. read more

The green Thai tea is my new favorite drink! I like to let the ice melt into it to make the drink last longer. The cha-watermelon is a popular drink and pretty good too. It's not a super sweet drink. Very refreshing. My favorite part is the straw. I wish it came with two. There was a sweet girl that took my order, and that same girl turned around and yelled out a drink order so loud that it scared me. You go girl! read more

The items that shine the best there are the fruit drinks! Their fruit drinks come with bite sized fruits (like a replacement for tapioca) and it makes the drinks so much more enjoyable!! Not too sweet either! Watermelon Fruit Slush: (5/5) it's so rare to find a watermelon slush/drink that isn't filled with artificial flavoring. Milk tea: (3/5) the tea is pretty watered down and the ice doesn't make it cold, but has such a nice aroma. Extra point cause I like soft tapiocas! Tropical Fruit Paradise: (5/5) I prefer this one over the fruit tea madness because it's less bitter! But both are AMAZING. Fruit Tea Madness: (5/5) this one has a hint of lychee in it! BASICALLYYYY I love the fruit drinks here and will be coming back for more!! I'd give this place 4 stars but there's a cute guy named Brian who gives the best service and smile in the back. The drinks here are good and typically I order the "Voodoo Chicken" with level 5 spicy. The chicken flavor is good and comes with a side of a sweet chile sauce. My go-to drinks are their milk tea and thai tea. As for the actual "boba" it's good and made with just the right amount of sweetness. A place to definitely check out or swing by read more

I like this place, I mean is not bad. Is it the best spot in town ? No. But man!!! The coco smoothie is my favorite. Unfortunately, I've had poor experiences with other types of smoothies... their consistency is too flat and not thick enough to enjoy. Sometimes the (fruit) smoothies taste a little spoiled or weird. Would I visit again? Yes but only for my coco smoothie. read more

Hot new place! Designs and concept are far more modern and up to date then others you can tell they are very quality oriented and process oriented by the process charts in the work areas and a person to review the final product before it's handed over. For those of you who has an appreciation for good coffee I highly recommend their drip and Tody Ice! read more

^('o')^ ^('o')^ --- That's me doing my happy dance after trying out Magic Cup! Ok well first thing's first, I'm the realest. Therefore, this review will keep it real as well. First impression of Magic Cup is that it has a very modern/stylish look to it, which is typically uncharacteristic of a lot of places on the west side of Bellaire. they have board games and free Wifi, so it would be a cool place to hang out at. The two times I went to check it out the line was pretty long and almost reached the entrance, but the line was surprisingly fast and I was able to order and get my food/drinks in no time at all. Rating: A+ For the drinks, you get buy 2 and get 1 free which was a great perk since I went there with a few friends. I got the cha-mango (similar to mangonadas) and cha-watermelon. Both of them tasted great. the drink itself tasted very fresh and were refreshing. The straw had lucas/chamoy candy straw in it so it give it a nice little kick. Definitely quenched my thirst, and for the people that know me, they know I be thirsty YOUKNOWWHATI'MSAYIN?!?! (insert tongue and water emoji) Rating: A+ For the food, I had the voodoo chicken, asian garlic wings, sweet calamari, fried dumplings, and kimchi fries. Overall everything tasted great and better than I expected since this place seems to be known for their drinks. My only complaint was that there could be more sauce on the kimchi fries because "I'm saucin' I'm saucin' on youuuu". Rating: A Seeing as how I went here 2 times in 4 days, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to try something new and different. Also, they had a girl working there that was looking mmmmMMM GOOOOOD!! Glad to see the staff and the food/drinks have something in common. Richard out *mic drop* read more

Honestly as a food critic and not based of bias information, I can say this place is okay. Food prices are quite high, yet the portions do not add up to it so I wouldn't know if it was just me tha day or that it's alot of money for small portions of food here. The drinks are decent not bad, but how does it stand out from any other place? Some drink are quite unique, and while it's good, most drinks taste a bit plan and again, cup sizes are quite small. The overall look is wonderful, nice decor and great look. But overall the menu is so far okay for me, I will update if it does change or if I notice any difference but until then it's not as special. read more

love coming here, good snack and drinks. Friendly staff and i love the fact that they have drive thru!

There are a couple of drinks I have tried, but I usually come here for their Cha Mango because it's so yummy and such a refreshing drink. It's a great drink for Chamoy lovers. I have also tried their Cha Watermelon but I didn't like it because it tasted funky. I just didn't think the flavors went well with watermelon. I do love how the frozen fruits are cut into really small pieces so that they will come up the big straw. The strawberry and peach tea is okay, but it's a good price for all the fruits you get in your drink. I would not recommend the Thai green tea though... it didn't taste anything like it should have tasted. What I did taste was matcha for some reason. The place is clean, full of sunlight, and opens really early for those who need their caffeine early. I noticed that people come here to hang out, but not many are here to get their work done. However, they do offer free WiFi for customers. Make sure you join their five star rewards program so you get points for your purchases. read more

Their drinks are amazing! Incredibly refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. I usually get their fruit teas and have heard that their milk teas aren't the best, but that's not what I come for. The staff are friendly and there is ample seating. Just wanted to give a shout out to this place for excellent service and atmosphere. I already loved the place cause the drinks are great and the staff is friendly... but today I went in there and I guess visibly stressed out and one of the employees LEX took the time to tell me not to be stressed, got me laughing, and then helped me figure out a new drink to try. After talking to her I sat down enjoyed the drink and felt a lot less stressed. Little things like that is what will make me drive out of my way to get tea from here from now on! read more
