I want to start off by saying that we aim to only eat locally and especially love supporting small businesses. With that being said, we have been to Magic China 3 times now. I waited to write this review until now because the first time we went was opening week and I wanted to give it some time before forming my opinion. I feel like we've given it a "fair shot" now. This place has been really inconsistent. The second time we went, it was pretty good. This last time, it wasn't very good. Now, I do want to say that we have never eaten in restaurant - always have taken it to-go. The portion sizes have been hit-or-miss. Our last take out order this week, had a COMPLETELY full large to-go container of ONLY fried rice for only 2 entrees. My husband and I were shocked...it was totally unnecessary plus their fried rice is literally just old steamed rice with soy sauce...no egg or veggies. It is, by far, the worst fried rice we've had locally. We ended up just tossing it, which made me feel so guilty. My husbands General Tso was decent but it was a TINY portion in a container with MORE rice and an egg roll. My lemon chicken (with the sauce mixed in), on the other hand, was a pretty decent size (again, with MORE rice and an egg roll). I only ordered that to split with my younger kiddos. It was really bland. I really wanted to love this place because it's local and it's convenient. Unfortunately, it misses the mark. read more

Tried this place yesterday with my family. Our waitress was awesome! But the food was not quite so awesome! I ordered the happy dinner because it was comparable to the usual triple delight. Unfortunately it was bland. My family ordered kung pao chicken and hunan chicken. They were pretty darn spicey and definitely tastier than my meal. The eggrolls were ok and the fried rice tasteless. Hard to find a decent Chinese Restaurant, we were reluctant to try this place we gave in and I'm so glad we did! I had their orange beef and fried rice it was delicious, I also had their wonton soup and egg rolls it was all amazing to me it's up there with Ding How! I would recommend this place! read more

OMG! First time here and we ordered to go. Staff was very nice and explained the menu options to us. We ordered beef and broccoli, pork fried rice and egg drop soup. We didn't wait very long for our food. We also got some freebies because it was our first time there. We get home, open the boxes, and . They put their own twist on some traditional dishes, but it's executed perfectly. The family and I eat here at least once a month. Would recommend the Gereal Tso's Chicken w/ the pork fried rice, egg rolls, and the Hong Kong Soup which isn't on the menu, but is made to order. read more

Magic China is a sight for sore eyes because it's the only Chinese food place amongst the mass amounts of Mexican food. I came here for dinner on Friday and it wasn't too busy. I ordered the Garlic Chicken Wings, the Spicy Salt Shrimp, and Hot and Sour Soup. The shrimp was sooooo good. Super salty and super pepper. I like that it wasn't super oily. It comes with rice and an egg roll. The egg rolls were fried at just the right temperature because again, it wasn't super oily. The Garlic Chicken Wings remind me of wings my grandma in San Diego makes. Super crunchy and super moist! I kinda wish there was actually more garlicky! The one thing that I didn't really like was the Hot and Sour soup. It was more hot and salty soup. lol My food came fast and it came hot! You can't beat the lunch special at this spot. Each dish is no more than $7.00 and it comes with an egg roll or Rangoon, soup of your choice, and steamed or fried rice. I came here a little past 1 o'clock with my sister and my niece today. I had been dying to try this spot. It's very clean but small. It wasn't that busy but we came in right after the lunch rush. I ordered the Mongolian beef. I got that with the egg drop soup, fried rice and an egg roll. My niece ordered the orange chicken. My sister got the sesame beef (which wasn't on the lunch menu but they were still more than happy to accommodate her wants of this dish). She got that with steamed rice and wonton soup. We also started off with some of the best rangoons I've ever tasted. My sister doesn't even like them and she said those were good! First thing is first. The food in all aspects was so flavorful. I did not have to salt ANYTHING. My Mongolian beef was super spicy. I didn't complain though, because if you know me that's how you know it's perfect for me. The egg drop soup was yummy but I have to admit that wonton soup was better. The broth was so mmm. The sesame beef was crisp to perfection with a light batter to it. I know if my husband was there he would love that. My nieces orange chicken was so good and it was made with full chicken strips rather than the little nuggets. Plus, the restrooms were super clean! This place in very new. I walked in right after the lunch hour. I was seated right away. When the server took my order she asked questions which I appreciate. I asked for spicy. I know it's never spicy enough for me but she didn't know that. She asked if I would like it extra spicy because their spicy is not that spicy. I really appreciated this. I get my soup and food really hot. This is a plus. And yes the food was perfect spicy for me. I was extremely happy with my broccoli beef. I have never seen the meat and vegetables be perfectly proportioned. Ever. This place served a perfect amount of meat to the vegetables. The steam rice and egg roll were good too. The egg roll was skinny. This doesn't matter to me, but I'm used to seeing girth. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends and family read more

I give 2 because the crab ragoons were good and the wonton soup was good. Service was slow but food was hot. We had tried this place before and were underwhelmed but gave it another shot. My husband had the combo lo mein and did not eat any of the meat because it didn't taste good. I had the cashew chicken and it was ok. The sauce wasn't very seasoned and very few cashews.
