The service was absolutely top notch! So kind, hospitable, and accurate. The room has the vibe of a mom and pop Chinese shop, which was pretty cute, but the smell of the oil hits like a brick wall the moment the door opens. Trying to move past it and being hopeful that the food would be good was not the course of action I should have taken. That smell of oil throughout the room was a foreshadowing of the food to come... everything tasted like dirty oil that hasn't been changed in months. I ordered two different dishes and the food tasted the same. The fried rice was definitely Americanized. The noodles just tasted like all the debris of dirty oil. I really wanted to love this place. I forget what I had, but it instantly made my stomach rumbly. That's more of a me thing though. We ordered food to go and tried two meals of the kids menu. One was the kids sweet and sour chicken and the other was the kids sesame chicken since I wasn't sure what they would like. I was able to place the order online and my husband had to wait a little to receive the food, but nothing too crazy. The food was fresh and pretty good portion sizes for the kids meal. They enjoyed it, but preferred the sweet and sour chicken. We would go back and try some different menu options. read more

The staff is always friendly however, like most other Chinese restaurants these days, they have cut corners and use very manufactured and processed sauces. The food and flavors don't taste as fresh. We're new to this area of Texas and decided to try this place out. We had dinner. The hostess was very sweet and we were greeted straight away. Our server was nice and got our drink order quickly. My husband ordered the General Tso chicken and I got the Sesame chicken. Both meals came with soup, a crab rangoon and rice. I've never seen fried rice like that. No veggies (I don't eat the veggies anyway) or egg in it, but it did have a good flavor. I had the hot and sour soup. It was very spicy and equally delicious. The food was good and there were only a few other people there, so it was quiet. We both enjoy a quiet evening out. We will definitely be returning to both dine in and for takeout. We came in today and ordered lemon chicken and pepper steak lunch specials. The food was completely inedible. Everything tasted bland and watered down including the tea. It tasted like the cheapest possible ingredients cooked by unhappy people who just dont respect their customers or the art of cooking. The fried rice was dry and tasteless. The Wontons were overcooked and didn't appear to be filled with anything. The hot and sour soup looked more like egg drop soup and no hot or sour or woodear mushroom ir bamboo. The beef on the pepper steak was so gross I had to spit it out. Its either really low quality meat or not fresh. Even the fried Wontons were terrible. So im guessing they haven't cleaned friers often enough or they are cooking in very low quality oil. read more

The inside was spacious and the decor was a little dated but it was clean. They have specials for both lunch and dinner. The dinner specials (if dine in) come with your choice of soup, a Rangoon, and steamed or fried rice. I had the General TSO chicken and it was crispy and has a little kick to it. They made sure to ask me first if I wanted it spicy. You can sub lo mein for the rice but it is extra. The soup came in cute little glass bowls. Try the fried dumplings, they're yummy. Our server was very attentive and food came out quickly, before we even finished our appetizer. Will be back again soon. read more

Tried this again after many years and disappointing past experience. The Panda Express down the road is packed for a reason. Deep fried mess of a meal. Either an entree is bland or it contains the complete daily limit of sodium. As I really have nothing good to say, I'll leave it there. read more

Always a good quality takeout experience at a good price. We get takeout usually every Friday and we have never had an issue with taste, quality or temperature. The portions are a good size, but if I had any recommendation it would be to provide more sauce to match the meat/vegetable portion. By that I mean I get the General Tso, or the Beef or Chicken and Broccoli but my sauce is usually equal to about 1/2 or the entrée quantity. I'm confused by some of these negative comments as I am a regulate patron and have never had one bad experience, but I look at the comment itself and usually disregard most of them for obvious reasons, but everyone has a bad day and you can't please everyone. read more

Stopped by for dinner on our way through to Austin. Typical Chinese fare. Prices are very reasonable and service was good. Sadly, the food was not particularly good. To sum it up in one word, "bland". Everything about the meal was bland. The wonton soup was a mix of salty water and strips of wonton. No real pork flavor. The strips of wonton were thick and a little tough. The General Tso Chicken was served with a Crab Rangoon. Could not taste the crab and there was very little cream cheese to be found. The General Tso Chicken has no spice to it. Bland is the best way to describe this. You normally want a little kick but this dish had none of that. Just left the China King. I grew up next door to a Chinese grocery and I was very good friends with their children. I was always at their home which was right next door. I had been looking for something like home cooked Oriental food. I can't believe that I have found such a place. I had the Kung Pao chicken and my husband had the Moo Goo Gai Pan. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and they were in nice size pieces. Will I go back again, you can bet your bottom dollar I will. I have to admit that I was bad on my diet because I ordered 4 spring rolls and 2 egg rolls to take home. Unfortunately they never arrived home with me because once I started eating them I just couldn't stop. And I didn't think there was an Oriental Restaurant in the Canyon Lake area. Upon first entry the place looked pretty subpar. The ambiance of this establishment is similar to walking into your basic hole in the wall mom and pop shop. Service was quick and the server was great. She even translated my chinese tattoo. The food? Amazing. Came out quick, super hot and fresh as far as I could tell and the taste was great. Don't take your hunger to this restaurant. We ordered hot and sour soup, egg rolls, moo goo gai pan and orange beef with fried rice. The soup was the only thing that was passable. The egg rolls tasted of cooking oil - so either it was cold or too often used. The moo goo was a gooey and bland mess. The orange beef was overcooked to a dry and crunchy with a bare minimum sauce, although it was garnished with orange slices. The fried rice was maybe passed over a skillet with excess soy sauce. All in all, a sad meal and we tossed out half the food as leftovers. We NEVER not eat leftovers. The photo shows what we threw out. This was our first and last visit to this establishment. We usually enjoy eating at local places versus chains but, honestly, the nearby Panda Express has much better food. read more

Both the hot and sour soup and the Mongolian chicken were excellent and the service was top notch. They were so polite and attentive. I was disappointed at the serving sizes. This is Texas lol. The bowl of soup was slightly smaller than other restaurants in the area which seemed a bit chinchy and then my plate only had six small pieces of chicken. When they asked how everything was, I let them know that they food was delicious but since there was such a small amount of chicken, could I get a few more pieces. Again, the waitress was polite and said "no", that was their serving size. I understand a lot of Chinese places over serve, leading to plenty of uneaten food, but my kid gets more food out of her happy meal. In the end I left disappointed for having spent $12+ on lunch and tip. read more
