what a cute gem!!! the service is incredible, it's an order at the counter type of place, but the people making your food are so genuine and nice. the food was pretty incredible, we ordered eggs florentine (yummm hollandaise), a gluten free espresso chocolate chip scone (incredible when warmed up). i also ordered a double espresso over ice with their cold foam -- fantastic coffee. the only disappointment here is the clientele, i came across a group of 3 old (white) folks who had just left church & one of the old men went up to an indian family, getting ready to order, unsolicitedly asking if they took a bus to get to the cafe... apparently shocked that non-white patrons were visiting the cafe. barring this micro-aggression from the random clientele, this cafe in itself has an incredible diversity in employees, has some great food, and is a really nice place. read more

This is a beautiful establishment that serves amazing coffee and delicious food. The restaurant is clean, modern, bright, and welcoming. The staff are pleasant and always have smiles on their faces. I live outside of Philadelphia so I'm no stranger to good coffee, and their coffee is some of the best coffee I've ever tasted. We stopped by during a bachelorette party in the Catskills for a much needed pick me up. The cold brew and lattes were a hit. We also got a few little treats to share which were all delicious. Guys and gals, if you have not stopped off at Maeve's for a bite to eat you are totally missing out. This is a phenomenal spot to eat, work, or relax. The breakfast foods are amazing, all cooked with love. Don't expect ultra fast turnaround as each meal is cooked fresh. Coffee is great, pastries are great. There is fast wifi with plenty of seats and work stations. This is absolutely a hidden gem in the catskills. Anybody passing through the Phoenicia area, make this place a priority! My boyfriend and I stopped here for coffee on our way home from skiing in the Catskills, and we ended up staying for lunch. Such cute decor and lovely gifts/extras all around the cafe. Everything was very clean- tables had red/green notes to show if they were clean or not. Everyone was wearing a mask. We were impressed by all of the offerings - drinks, savory, sweet. Our food was DELICIOUS!! Service was great- super friendly, food was fresh and came out quick! We also appreciated that everything was recyclable or compostable. We could tell that this was a progressive place that acted with true purpose that went beyond their delicious food and drinks (just read the wall and walk around to read and learn about Maeve!!). We bought blueberry preserves and habanero mustard too! Can't wait to try them soon. read more

Had been in town all weekend for my birthday. Stopped in this place on the way back to Baltimore. Boy was that a mistake!! This is a certainly a locals spot, but that's because it's not crazy touristy, very good, and amazing service. This place is extra special to me as they hire individuals with disabilities to work here, something I didn't know til I stopped in. I had the snickers latte and it tasted exactly like a warm snicker bar. Couldn't believe it. I had the breakfast sammie with bacon on sourdough, the perfect filing sammie for a road trip home. There were all these fantastic sauces, jellies, dressing that were for sale so I couldn't help myself. I purchased the cranberry jalapeño jam, BANGING. Definitely recommend stopping in here for great food, coffee, and people! read more

Such a cute coffee shop with a HUGE selection of items. I went with a latte with oat milk and Brendan just went with a regular coffee. I couldn't believe how many things they offer- from lunch items to breakfast to fresh juice. They had it all! They also had an incredible selection of gifts to take home. I found a super cool candle that looks like a latte with a lid- I just love it and it reminds me of our visit here. This place has many good things going for it -- a pleasant space, an attractive outdoor seating area, a shop filled with cute items, decent coffee. If only they would focus on the food. We ordered the "Meadow," supposedly a "loaded naan" flatbread . What came out was more like a pale, limp pita bread topped with some oily, flavorless spinach and shitakes. OK, so we ordered wrong. But at least we ordered a side of green beans. The menu quietly says they are "battered," which means they are fried (wish this had been made clear upfront). What emerged were green beans + fried avocado + fried cheese curds, which came as a surprise, but not a pleasant one. When we questioned it, the surly shop girl acted as if we were annoying her with our petty concerns. The cheese curds were chewy and tough, and the avocado had little flavor. The overall impression was one of random frozen food tossed into the fryer and thrown at the customers with little attention paid to the result. I expected to like this place, especially in light of all the Yelp love, but I found it left much room for improvement. read more

This place was awesome!!! I ordered a sticky bun latte and a breakfast burrito and both were so incredibly good. Everything on the menu looked delicious and the desserts looked amazing. I wanted one of everything!!! They also sold their own sauces, dressings, jams, other little gifts, etc. And I ended up coming home with a cranberry jalapeño bourbon jam. I can't wait to try it!! I'm sure it is great given everything my husband and I had for breakfast was amazing. One other plus side is the Maeves hires individuals with disabilities which is incredible and heart warming. I can't say enough great things about this place. It is an absolute must if you are in the area. If I'm ever back in the area I need to try the lunch options and obviously a dessert ;) read more

Live in Kingston and often take a drive down 28. We haven't stopped in Phoenicia for a few years because of some absolutely horrible dining experiences on the main drag but have wanted to try Maeve's for a while now. Such a cute and amazingly clean and inviting spot. We ordered eggs benedict and the chicken caprese sandwich. Husband said the sandwich was quite good and my eggs were just scrumptious. Eggs cooked perfectly and a very nice, not heavy cloying hollandaise. Both came with salads that a lemony yummy dressing and I also received a perfectly small portion of potatoes on the side. Homemade lemonade and an iced tea and a slice of cheesecake for dessert. $44 without tip. Fantastic deal! My only nit, not even a complaint, are the utensils and recycling - are they biodegradable? I felt bad just tossing everything in the trash because the only recycling can I saw was for plastic. I, of course, could have asked but I was too busy stuffing my face. I know a certain type of people would rather go to the place down the road but if you know, you know...it's Maeve's all the way. read more

Beware! This cute place says they are pet-friendly but they are not. Our well-behaved dog was sitting near an acquaintance of the owner. She clearly did not like dogs and seemed to spitefully drag her chair next to our dog who then yelped for a second. She then told the owner that our dog was misbehaved, causing the owner to come out and ask us to leave. Nobody else complained. In fact, a family with kids was enjoying our dog and our company. Then, when the owner spoke to us while we were eating the 50 dollars of food we bought there, she clearly must have seen how quiet and good our dog was and then offered to have her unfriendly friend come out and apologize. We declined and simply said we will never go back there again. A good host should never be rude, pompous and self-righteous. read more

My partner and I stopped at this rather adorable coffee shop on the side of 28. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful interior. However, as we ordered and sat down- the owner came out from the back. We weren't a fan of the owner, and the music was so loud. She seemed like she wanted people to buy merchandise and not loiter or sit down to eat the food. We felt very rushed and uncomfortable. The baristas seemed as though they had better things to do rather than help us. Honestly, you can find a better egg sandwich at the local gas station for less than half the price. The avocado toast that my partner ordered tasted fake and made my partner sick. The food tasted frozen. The latte that I ordered were made with pods, not freshly ground espresso. The espresso tasted watered down and somehow burnt? The drip coffee that my partner ordered tasted watered down and when we were offered a stronger blend, that wasn't even strong enough. We then added an espresso shot to the coffee, and it just tasted awful. I went to this coffee shop a while ago, and debated on reviewing. However, after careful consideration and a conversation with a local coffee shop, (that's 10x times better btw) they told me it would help rather than hinder the business. I hope you choose literally anywhere else to go in the Hudson Valley aside from this place. read more
