I came here today to get coffee. Was not sure what to order. I was going to get a maple drink they had on thd board...the girl said it has something different than what I was expecting. I then changed it to a tuxedo. They were going to charge me an extra 75 cents. Starbucks sure does not do that. I ended up with a medium white mocha. It was almost 7.00...What a rip off...I definitely made a mistake coming here. It literally tasted like the lady put zero white chocolate in the drink. I even tried stirring it in my car...it was still gross...my drink tasted like milk and espresso. I ended up throwing it in the garbage. If I did not have to go pick my brother up from the dentist...I would have made them give me a refund. I will NEVER come back here again. I love that this spot is right by me! It's such a cute little hole-in-the-wall spot, and the ambiance is super inviting and cozy. Their menu is pretty large, and I love that they offer seasonal items too. So far, I've tried the banana latte and the Biscoff latte, and both were AMAZING! They also sell their syrups at a really reasonable price, which is such a nice bonus if you want to recreate some of their drinks at home. And of course, you can't forget about the pastries! Came here this weekend with my little grumpy old grandma and the staff was wonderful. We ordered 2 chocolate muffins to go, as well and croissants, an Americano coffee for her and I ordered the strawberry matcha. Drinks were good, the food stood out here!! Jay was my "barista" who answered all my questions (lots of fun menu selections) and helped me take the plunge to try something new. I had the opportunity to meet the owner, Ms. Antronette, who is also a retired veteran. I enjoyed the tiramisu mocha drink i ordered. I also bought the coconut pineapple cake slice. The drink was delicious and I wished I had gotten the large cup after I was finished. The cake had good flavor but very dry. I'm not sure if it was vegan or cooked with other ingredients than traditional flour. I would need to have ice cream with it if I bought it again. I usually have a great experience at Maestro's. However this time I walked in with a coupon I had received with a receipt from another store. The coupon says i could get a free coffee with purchase of a second coffee or a breakfast sandwich. I had ordered three coffees all of the same size. The owner comes to tell me that it's printed wrong and that it should say drip coffee not just any coffee. She wasn't offering any type of discount for the misconception or to just honor the coupon for the one time. I understand the coupon being printed out wrong but you can't be falsely advertising either. I got a 2 dollar discount because her kind employee brought up the idea and even then the owner didn't seem the happiest with that. This is not even me trying to not pay full price or anything. It's more about how the owner handled the situation. I wish i got the cashiers name because at least, she was kind enough to get us a small discount to do something about the misconception and apologized, unlike the owner. The avocado was spread very thin, similar to how you'd spread peanut butter on a sandwich, and it came on two basic slices of white bread. For $8, I expected something more substantial, like a thicker layer of avocado on a hearty slice of sourdough. The presentation also didn't do much to elevate the dish. The interior is decent, nothing particularly aesthetic but still a cute and comfortable space. Service was good, friendly cashier. I'd like to file a compliment. I have been absolutely MOVED by this establishment. I was passing through the area and wanted to add a little pizazz to my Friday coffee routine. I found Maestro after a Google Maps search, and chose to try them based on their solid reviews and uniqueness! I was not prepared for this level of pizazz!!! I ended up finding their take on my favorite coffee drink (Kerouac), and I was able to order it large - score!! It was muy, muy delicioso until the very last drop. On top of that, being very hungry and wanting breakfast, I was recommended a lovely turkey or ham croissant - and when additions were suggested, I just asked for eeeeeeverything (bacon, avocado, etc.). And guess what? That breakfast sando was eeeeeeverything!!! It blew my mind!! My neck was sore after all was said and done, because I kept shaking my head in disbelief, saying to myself things like "aww man this is GOOD" and "mmmMMM"!! Anyway, on top of this, the kind and happy folks making the magic happen behind the counter were fun, efficient, and receptive to me projecting all of my enthusiasm their way, haha. And yes the joint itself looks very nice and has ample seating, despite the narrow space. This place deserves all the love, all the attention, and all of the business!! When I finally realized they forgot my food and went up to interrupt the four girls talking and laughing away there was no apology but almost an annoyance I asked. After that', they set out two different items and never stated what it was which was frustrating, they were clearly too busy having fun to be helpful. The Vietnamese coffee was not strong. I realize that everyone makes it slightly different but being strong should be a commonality among them all. The turkey croissant sandwich was bad. Right in the middle of the croissant was a single tough piece of deli meat rolled up. There were three cakes sitting out there looked good, sadly didn't try those. The menu is up on the wall behind the bar with lots of options! I decided to try a 20 oz Spiced Brown Sugar Oat milk latte and an apple danish. The order came out to be less than $12! That's amazing! I really wanted to like this place, but the Vietnamese coffee I ordered was a big disappointment. It was watery and tasted premade rather than freshly brewed. The cashier insisted it was "strong coffee," but it definitely wasn't. On top of that, I was surprised to see sales tax added to my iced Vietnamese coffee--something I've never been charged for at Starbucks. Overall, this was my first and last visit.
