This place is super fun! Went here on St Patrick's day, and it was packed! My boyfriend and I were still able to find seats at the bar. Got a flight and enjoyed each one we got. Also ordered the corned beef pizza (special for St Patrick's day), and it was delicious! I wish we got the 16 inch instead. read more

Nice place, but seems a little plain. It's like a lot of hype but nothing to get overly excited about. Had the pizza, not very happy with quality to price ratio. If they would step up the food quality a bit they might be worth the time and price invested. Its Just another one of those places you'll tolerate the food because your with friends or family and drinking a bit so yeah food is alright I guess kind of place. Um eeh! read more

I loveeee the new Madtree space. It is much more accommodating to the larger crowds. We even hosted our high school reunion here! The service is always great and the food is great comfort food. Madtree is definitely a Cincinnati staple and I always recommend out of towners to check it out. If you like sours/ecclectic beers- this is definitely the place to check out. It seems like they have been on a sour/gose kick lately which is the new trend in beers right now! There is plenty of parking and their outdoor patio area is dog friendly. read more

Went to this spot with my Meetup group after brunch at Maribelle's. From what I heard from people in the Meetup, they say the people at Crossroads Church are frequent flyers there. Word. LOL. I'm not big on Ale/Beer...whatever, but the nice lady from the Meetup insisted I come over and socialize after brunch, so okay, I went. You don't have to break a brotha's arm, damn! This place is huge. Lots of parking. Very spacious. Lots of seating indoors, and the outdoor patio area was pretty dope. Of course, being the dog-friendly venue it was, you got to see more than a few canine style kerfuffles and lots of booty sniffing. The bartender, sensing my sophistry, was like, "okay, let me make you something"...rolled his eyes and came back with "something" that was pretty damned good. Don't ask me what it was, but I enjoyed it. Did it go to my head? A little - given the meager meal I had at Maribelle's. LOL I'll go back to MadTree again and kick it with my dawgs or any species present. read more

You know what, I don't even have to bookmark MadTree. I usually bookmark places I don't want to forget. I'm not worried about forgetting MadTree. It's the Cincinnati brewery I tell my friends about. Close second is Rhinegeist. I'm mad about MadTree. Sorry, I'm not sorry. The new brewery and tap house is leagues above the original, which was a hop, skip, and like 20 stop lights away, but in Cincinnati that's only like 1.5 miles. They converted an old factory into a big beautiful spectacle of beer. It's even better in the summer and warmer spring and fall days when the patio is open. I've been known to stop after work and grab a couple beers and do some work because I can, and they have good beer. They are not afraid to experiment and they are not afraid to experiment with IPAs. Hell, IPAs probably built this place. They have an extensive menu, I think something for everyone: a light lager to a double IPA and maybe a Belgian Tripel? It's really everything you could want in a brewery. read more

Madtree is a cool addition to Oakley! We stopped by last week and the beer selection was limited however they had just opened and were already running out of some beers. This week their draft wall was full and had a lot more options. The beer garden outside was great especially with the warmer temps- plenty of room plus an outside bar and they allow dogs and kids. There was also cornhole. The food looked and smelled amazing but we did not try it- have heard good things from others though. Will be back to try the pizza and get beers again for sure. read more

I'm sure the locals already know about MadTree's awesomeness, but this place is great. They have a huge selection and wide variety of beers. I'm pretty sure there were over 20+ options on the board. I love the Rounding Third, but it is only available seasonally (during baseball season). I'm a sucker for a good red IPA. Anyways, the tasting room is probably one of the biggest brewery tasting rooms I've ever seen. It seems like it could fit several hundred people with ease, plus there's an outdoor patio with additional seating. Although there is a giant parking lot, it always seems crowded and tough to find parking. That's a sign of good beer! read more

Awesome!! Love the space, large indoor space, even larger outdoor space. Kid friendly. Dog friendly. Huge selection of beers. $12 for a four pour flight seems high, but that is the only issue. A rarely given 5 star review, also attributed to the on-site food vendor. read more

Honestly MadTree is not one of my favorite places. I know people love so I think it just comes down to personal preference. From the moment i enter the parking lot I want to leave. This place is literally ALWAYS packed. Like annoyingly packed. However, I visited on a Tuesday after work for a meeting. It wasn't packed! And it was pretty enjoyable. Managed to sit on patio/beer garden for the first time and it was pretty nice. They even had a beer that I liked (don't drink beer). Also found out they have table tennis on Tuesday evenings. Great group of people and fun to watch. Still not my first choice but I've learned it can be enjoyable. read more

I love going to Mad Tree. The open air atmosphere is perfect and it is somewhere you want to be. Of course Mad Tree's beer selection is incredible, and if you like craft beer this is your place. Being able to order a pizza is genius - and delicious. Those pizza's are the best. My biggest grumble are the dogs. People are allowed to bring their dogs, and when their dogs are well behaved, it's lovely. When there is an obnoxious dog barking incessantly for an hour and a half, that ruins everything. The bartenders were made aware of the problem, and no one did anything. I'm not sure what he policy is on dogs, but that needs to be addressed. Many of the other dogs were adorable to have around and were so well behaved. It only take 1 - 2 dogs losing their minds to make you want to leave. read more

If you need a spot to drink a beer, chill with your pup, and eat pizza, then Madtree is the place! This well laid out and massive location for a Cincinnati beer favorite is one of my favorite breweries in the city. There is a different vibe with every room/spot within the walls of Madtree. You have a giant open space concept all around, and a killer hybrid inside/outside space to chill with friend and have a tasty beverage. They have everything on tap you'd imagine. To the hoppiest of hops to the darkest stouts your black heart desires! They offer great room space for events and offer a laid back vibe with kickass quality. read more

I went to Ohio and visited my cousin. He took us here. Pizza and beer, I'm going to do that one more time, pizza and beer. This place was awesome I ordered the veggie pie and he and my other cousin ordered the meat lover pie. I was totally surprised coming from New York that this pizza was amazing. Also, I wasn't a beer drinker until I went to Ohio. I had psychopathy, lift, psa and and a chocolate beer with a high %. If I could I would of tried them all with their cool ass names. It was pretty loud and they had music but I loves this place wish it was closer to me. read more

The pizza is very tasty, the appetizers are good and so are the salads. Bar food? Yeah but fresh. And after all the beer at Madtree is the real deal. But the best part of this place is the feel of it. Open and expansive, with a fantastic German beer hall community feel, inside and out. Lots of families, dogs allowed outside, a wide variety of people all just enjoying being around each other and drinking a little good beer... a great place to relax as people/dog watch! read more

Madtree has a great selection of their beers on tap. The bartenders were nice, patient and fast. There is tons of communal style seating and it looks like an amazing dog friendly patio. It's even covered so you can be on it in winter. read more

Not much to say that hasn't already been said about this awesome brewery! A giant fantastic building with lots of interesting spaces, both inside and out; they can accommodate a lot of guests and even have a party room. The beers here are delicious, and they offer a wide range of styles to fit every taste, including ciders! There were seriously about 30 different draughts made in-house, so many that I was having trouble narrowing it down to 4 for my flight. The food here looks pretty tasty; I had a bite of the roasted peppers stuffed with goat cheese and they were delicious. I would definitely come back to try the pizza! The merchandise offered here is really cool, and I love their tree logo. The only complaint I have from my experience is that I bought a women's fitted tshirt, and it was SO SMALL that I can't wear it. I mean, it was rolled up in a tube with a wrapper around it so I couldn't lay it out to see the size... but dang. What a bummer. Ladies, just buy a unisex shirt unless you want to throw your money away on a shirt that runs several sizes too small. Or, just buy a growler to go instead! Beer will never let you down. read more

The sours! The IPAs! The mushroom pizza! The atmosphere! What a wonderful environment. Both inside and outside. Plus a parking lot. And cornhole/bags and super dog friendly. What more could you want? A friend who lives in the area said this was her favorite brewery so we met up at MadTree and I will definitely be going back! Thorn and the Blood Orange Psychopathy are my favorite. read more

Great brews, family friendly and pet friendly spot! This place is great for happy hours, family fun and to take your pup while enjoying some of the best beers in the city. I love this spot since they have a massive patio where you can take your dog and enjoy the sun! When it gets very cold you can also enjoy all the fun inside, but without the pup. They also have pizzas which are delicious! I enjoyed very much the prosciutto and arugula pizza, and the 5 cheese and truffle pizza! read more

I've probably written a review for Madtree before, but I can never say enough good things about this place. Not only do they have a variety of good beers to choose from, the food is always really good too (I always love a place with vegetarian and vegan options). But, above all else, I love their customer service. Everyone is kind even when they are busy and this is probably one of the very few places I've never had a single issue despite being a continuous customer (usually you run into some issues or one-offs when you visit a place a decent amount of times, but it's never happened here). I especially want to shout out the hosts. Those employees are often undervalued by customers yet they are the ones that make a huge difference because they can set the tone for your experience. The hosts at Madtree are always so friendly and hospitable. I don't think there's another place with hosts as great as these hosts. Madtree also has a very big space (which is great especially during covid) and they have excellent protocols in place. I noticed the bartenders sanitize the bar top after customers walk up and order their beers. I know Madtree is a big business, but it's still important to support big LOCAL businesses during these times. I'll always be a loyal customer. read more

Such a great microbrew in Cincinnati! We were impressed with the wide selections of beer, cider, and craft cocktails. The best part: their staff was extremely knowledgeable about their products & provided great recommendation. I went with Shade, a tarty fruit ale flavored with blackberries. Packed with flavor & freshness! We ate before we came, and sort of wish we hadn't because their pizzas look amazing. The patio is huge & dog friendly. There's ton of space for big groups! read more

Great atmosphere for hanging out and talking to friends. Lots of craft beers to chose from. I went with a beer flight. Artisan wood fired pizzas were great. I recommend the 3 little pigs. Pizzas were ready faster than I was told. We had some under 21's in our party so the beverage choices for them was lacking. They have Coke products in cans. They have the beer menu on a board above the bar. Nothing printed up as far as a drink menu. So you have to go to the bar to see what you want. Kind of annoying if you are not sitting at the bar. Overall a great place with good beer and pizzas. I would definitely recommend. read more

I really loved The MadTree Brewery! Great open outdoor seating! Even though it was crowded my husband and I were able to find a table and high chair with for our son. There were lots of families there (Sunday afternoon) and dogs outdoors. It's all self serve but we had a great experience with that. The pizza cafe they have served really good, really fresh pizza and it was ready about 15 min after we placed our order. All in all I loved the vibe and experience. We will be back. read more

My husband and I recently moved to Cincinnati, and when my friend came to visit us, we decided to check out MadTree. We came on a Wednesday around 5:30-6pm; it wasn't hard to find a place to sit outside but it did fill up pretty steadily soon enough! We all enjoyed the beers and the atmosphere. I personally had the lemon basil blonde, which complimented well the pizza we ordered from Catch A Fire (the Mr. Brown). The other beers we tried were Entropic Theory and Thundersnow (I think). The patio was the perfect place to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the evening! The only change I would make next time is bringing my dog along, as the outdoor area is dog friendly. We will definitely be back again! read more

One of my favorite breweries of all time, came all the way from Cleveland and it really lived up to the hype, great environment, amazing beer selection, and entertaining bartenders, over all a 5 star experience for a brewery, and that's not even mentioning how good the beer is... plus there is a pizza spot there to boot! My favorite brewery in Cincinnati! I would just say if you are going to go on a Saturday there is definitly a sweet spot of a time to get there. If you get there too early then there are a lot of families and kids there. If you get there too late, you can't get a seat. 3pm is a good time! read more

The outdoor seating area is fantastic, and they make some interesting beers. I found the IPAs to be best. I also had the pizza, and that was quite good as well, semi thin crust, and made fresh to order. The stuffed hot peppers were tasty, with a creamy goat cheese. read more

Great place to watch sports too and I read that they hold a lot of cool events here as well. Walkable distance to Findlay Market.

The seating is family style with long tables. You can order via QR codes (meh) or walk up to the side of the bar for food and drink. The manager came around and introduced himself to everyone and was all over the place. Helping in the kitchen, bar, cleaning up etc.. He's definitely an asset because he didn't disappear as the rush started coming in. The inside is nicely decorated and I was digging their Voodoo/skull theme. We settled in and watched the 4pm NFL game on one of the large TV's while chatting with some disappointed Bengals fans and locals. Beer wise they had a nice selection of classic Voodoo brews (we used to get them a lot in the Philly area several years ago), a balance of styles and some newer brews I'd never heard of. If you enjoy the dark side of beer the Where Our Secrets Go Imperial Stout was delicious and thankfully more along the lines of the traditional style Impy Stout. I had an IPA that I can't remember the name of, but it had a nice Belgian yeast/hop twist to it. My son enjoyed their root beer. Food wise the Jumbo Chicken Wings, roasted in house hit the spot, I highly recommend them. I added their Good Vibes BBQ "Sawce", but you can get them dry rubbed or chose from several other "Sawces". The wings were big with fresh meat and the sauce was great. The Pub pretzel we ordered was huge and the good vibes beer cheese complimented it well. The Mr. Pickles Fried Pickles were also a great choice for an app. They were a big portion. My friend had the Chili Mac and my son ordered the Lil Mashburgers - 2 little smashburgers oozing with cheddar & chippies off the kids menu. We ate, had a couple of beers and enjoyed our dinner at Voodoo before we explored more of downtown Cincy. I'll be honest I wanted to avoid BrewDog and Voodoo and experience home grown Cincinnati breweries, but we were really happy we stopped at Voodoo. We ordered extra hot wings, and the sauce was great but to make it "extra hot" they just added a metric ton of hot pepper or some hot seasoning, and it was nearly inedible. They were extremely over sauced. The fries were okay. My dry rub wings were good. It's basically self serve, you order on the website via QR code. They brought our food all at once due to that, to include the appetizer. Service was quick but we only saw our "waiter" once to deliver our food. If we had needed refills, we wouldn't have gotten them. We didn't even get silverware and only got one appetizer plate. The ambiance was nice, it's a great looking facility. I probably won't be back though, unfortunately. Just not great enough to bother going again. We did have one beer off the draft list that was good. The dragons milk.

Food wise - we didn't eat here, but I can tell you from past BrewDog experiences their wings are always on point. Beer wise - They had a good mix on their 24 or so taps - IPA/Pale Ales (8 on tap), ciders (4), stouts & dark beers (3), lagers & pilsner (2), sour & fruit-based (2) and five beers for a community beer festival that was running that weekend. $1 of every pint poured went to charity. I had a Winter Staycation at 7.5% - our seasonal stout that brings rich pecan and sweet toffee flavors right to your glass. Every sip is a warming blend of nostalgia and bold flavors, crafted to remind you of the comforts of the season. If you loved last year's cozy winter release, this one's sure to feel right at home. It was average with sweet pecan flavors, caramel, vanilla, toffee and tasted malts. Drank like a porter. It was OK which is what most of their beers are. Just above average in my humble opinion. From my experiences between BrewDog and Voodoo, it seems the outsiders are better options than the local breweries (except Northern Row they were good) in Cincinnati. There is a small taproom with a much larger Oktoberfest styled hall (meaning large community tables). There are plugs here if you work remote, although I would NEVER do that. :P The beers are not the best I had in Cincy, but they are above the average in Cincy, so it is definitely above average. It is also a well-known, stable brewery. I understand Listermann recently sold the spot, so it will be interesting to see if there are changes going forward. The board is a bit heavy at this point, with quite a few brews over 10%. My feelings on the beers? The IPAs are decent, but they shine brightly with their stouts and pastry sours. The blackberry cobbler sour (12%) and Forbidden Imperial Stout got my top marks. Would love to return and see how the food is here, but spring break worked against me. If you go through my profile, you will find I have a couple of hidden gems we found on our trek.
