I have loved Madtree since the beginning and it's so nice to see them so successful with the 2.0 location. The place is huge and stylish. It still has the warehouse feel with some added class. There are tons of different spaces... The main bar with the same long tables, the outdoor bar with some picnic tables (Still dog friendly), and the outdoor covered patio area complete with fire pits. Catch a fire pizza now has a much larger location, which is still great. There is foosball and shuffleboard in the corner. Parking can get a little hairy on busy nights, despite how large the lot is, this place is obviously super popular. It can be a fight to get a seat too. The bartenders are quick and helpful. We really like to get flights for some sampling before settling on favorite pints for the night. This place truly is a Cincy staple! read more

The last morning of my vacation in Cincinnati I was traveling from restaurant to restaurant trying to find somewhere that didn't have over an hour wait to eat. Convinced I was about to die of starvation my friend suggested we go to Mad Tree Brewing which was conveniently nearby. I had never been before and I honestly didn't even realize it was in the area. I didn't bother checking if Mad Tree had food at this point I figured I'd either eat something or I could at least get a beer and drink until I forget how hungry I am. I'm not recommending that, but I was delirious with hunger. Upon arrival at MadTree I as instantly impressed with the size of the building and ample parking. My small group had no problem finding a place to sit on the patio. There were also plenty of seating inside still available. We also, luckily, discovered they indeed had food. While we were there they also had a large event area where they had a farmers market and a second smaller event room where people were painting their pets. Not to mention I really enjoyed every beer I tried and I was happy with my breakfast. Madtree quickly became my favorite Cincinnati brewery replacing Rhinegiest. Which says a lot because I really liked Rhinegiest! read more

I have never been a fan of majority of their beer selections, mostly IPAs, pale ales, and stouts but I can usually find something to drink. The few times visited before never ordered the food but always wanted to try the pizza because I always see people eating it and it looks so good. Unfortunately it looks better than it tastes. It's very thin and tastes doughy, lacking the taste of cheese and sauce. The garlic knots were scalding hot because they come out on a hot plate. And they taste of pretty much only garlic. They leave the whole cooked garlic pieces in the dish, which was interesting. The water is self-serve at a fountain and free so I'll give them that! read more

MadTree's taproom is one of my favorite places to frequent in Oakley. The new space is a huge improvement from their old building and it's a great atmosphere for hanging out on a weeknight or weekend. We ended up there for brunch and I was super excited to try Catch-A-Fire's brunch menu. We ordered a house cinnamon roll, which was one of the best I've had. It wasn't overly-sweet and a perfect texture. We also got the goetta pizza, which was great. I'm not super wild about how thin their crust is, but it's still pretty tasty. Their typical food and beer menu is great, but I'll definitely be sure to come back for brunch sometime. read more

GO TO MADTREE!!! I loved the atmosphere and the beer! The inside is huge with tons of space for standing and mingling or sitting and eating/drinking. Even though the indoor area is great, I would only stay in there if the weather is bad, because the outside is where it's at! The whitewashed brick and twinkle lights won me over before I even tried the beer. Standing outside, there were groups of people everywhere, you could tell this is the place to come to meet friends and unwind after a long week. The outdoor area had corn-hole and was dog friendly too, which are both pluses in my book! The beer at MadTree was delicious too! My favorite was Boysen the Hood! I mean, I obviously loved it for the name, but the taste is just as good. It has a fruity berry taste and is also pretty tart. If you like sour beers you'll love it! I was in Cincinnati for a conference a few weeks ago and visited MadTree with some colleagues. It was unseasonably warm for early October and the open atmosphere of MadTree was perfect. I tried three different beers during my visit. Shade - absolutely my favorite of this visit and could be the best beer I've ever had. It was light and refreshing, with a distinctive tartness. The description mentions sea salt which was interesting, and seemed to just brighten the flavor of the blackberries. Pilgrim - So interesting! I love cranberry and this has the distinctive flavor, but the vanilla seemed to temper the tartness. This was not as light an refreshing as Shade, but was still delicious. I sampled Unbeetable Cornclusion and found it to be as interesting as it sounds. I'm not sure I can even describe the flavor, but it was very dry - not what I expected of a cream ale. I also tried Lift, which was very light and easy to drink. MadTree is the type of place I wish I could visit all the time. It was the perfect location for catching up with colleagues and enjoying a gem of Cincinnati. read more

It was crisp and tasted super fresh - perfect for a nice summer/fall day. My friend ordered the Bo Psychopathy and said it was really good as well. We didn't end up ordering any food, but the food that I saw others eating looked really good. If you're into dogs, loud noises, tons of people, and wildly over-hopped beer, then you probably love this place. Extremely busy on the weekends. Parking lot was full. The bartenders did a pretty good job quickly getting drinks. Prices are moderate for local craft beer. I liked that you can get cups of water for yourself if you go to the bathroom. It would have sucked to have to wait for water. I tried the Wee Heavy. It was decent, but I have yet to try a beer there that I'd want to try twice. It's just not my stein of beer. read more

Recently gave these folks an honest review of my experience there and one of their associates reached out to try and rectify the issue...when you experience bad service from an unknown employee it's difficult to really pinpoint the problem or the person responsible...as I said in that review my main reason to be there is the winter farmers market they host...today I returned for that reason and decided I'd get a cup of coffee...the $4 cup of coffee was cold, when I brought that to the attention of the server he acted like it was a bother to deal with it...it's stressful to remove the cold coffee and replace it I understand, maybe he needs to take a nap after such a task...so after bad attitude guy replaced it I got another cup of coffee that was as bad as the one that stressed out that poor server...I wanted a cup of hot coffee, the server was apparently exhausted from that task so I didn't dare ask for more, nor did I ask for a refund, that might have sent him over the edge...so I just left with another lousy experience from this place...I'll return for the market but I'll avoid the coffee, beer or awful servers... read more

The best atmosphere for a Cincy brewery for both inside and outside. A true following, and amazing beer with actual descriptions. Madtree is the perfect brewery to grab a beer with friends and it feels just local enough to be the local watering hole. PLUS Catch A Fire pizza is everything you can hope for for onsite food. The pizzas are all unique, not just run of the mill flavors. Another great reason to come back. Madtree was great to begin with, but I love this new expansion! I'm so glad they took this unused industrial building in the middle of Oakley and turned it into something so beautiful. They have a huge outdoor patio and a gigantic indoor space (the largest taproom in Cincinnati, I think). The bars are beautiful, they had 30 beers on tap per bar I think. Psychopathy is one of my all-time favorite IPA's, but be sure to check out their seasonal and experimental beers on tap because you can't get those in stores! They also always have a non-alcoholic drink on tap, the last time I was there it was a grapefruit cream soda. They also have Catch-a-Fire pizza inside (not my favorite pizza, but a nice option to have food while you're drinking). The beer garden is dog friendly, which is a HUGE deal for me cause I like bringing my dog with me everywhere. I came here for their grand opening and winter bonanza, and we had such a great time. I hope they continue to host big events like this in the future because they definitely have the space! My biggest complaint is that this place gets SUPER crowded and can be loud on the inside. We prefer the beer garden, but beware it's basically a dog park now because there will be 50 dogs there on a nice Saturday. read more

OK, Mad Tree really makes me MAD! First, they have the balls to create mad scientist beer and not retail it one state north of them. I mean they could return the solid that Bell's Brewery did for all Ohioans and share a little with their neighbor. Just because our football teams hate each other doesn't mean it needs to get beer personal. Is nothing left that is sacred??? Then, they have to rub it in my face and create an absolutely insane brewery / restaurant. At least the old location didn't inspire awe and envy. What they did here was brilliant. They took the front fascia of an old brick building (I was told aircraft hangar??) and knocked out everything behind the front brick wall. Then used that space to build an absolutely AWESOME beer garden. I was here on a business trip during a weeknight. It was an awesome vibe though you probably need to be a dog fan. The outdoor person to dog ratio was probably no better than 4 to 1 which was fine for me but I would imagine could turn off some folks. It looked like there was a pretty healthy set of Baggo games going on as well. There is a long bar out there and, though busy, they seemed to be keeping up OK. It truly is a very very cool environment out there. Inside, it is massive facility. Big bar, bathrooms, they have at least one room for private events, and a good selection of canned beer and Mad Tree swag. There are also brick pizza ovens and some really good looking pies rolling out. I didn't have any but I will make it a point to come back hungry next trip and there absolutely will be a next trip because THE BEER HERE IS PHENOMENAL! I had 4 different selections: PSA, Psychopathy, Lift, and the Brown. All were between good and very good. The stand out for me is the PSA (Proper Session Ale) as it has a really solid full flavor but is still an all day option. We have a number of world class micro's here in Michigan and Mad Tree stands up well to most of them. Add the amazing brewery to the mix and you have a SOLID night out choice in the Cinci area. I think I will go home this evening and toast to the hope that we start getting some of these great beers up here in Michigan. Until then, I will make the occasional trek south. The facility is very clean. The wait staff is friendly and service is great. They are strictly adhering to the pandemic requirements which was very comforting. Had a blast with my family here last weekend. Dozens of dogs dressed up in Halloween 'stumes and they even had a farmers market in the parking lot for the pups. Beers were delicious, excellent selection, and my wife enjoyed the "Sway" seltzers. Some of the best pizza in the city. Despite the large crowd I never had to wait long at the bar. Even before we arrived, MadTree was very appealing in the simplicity of their reservation process. The environment is inviting for late-night conversations with friends whom you may have not seen in quite awhile. The beer selection is usually creative and offers different concoctions for the cutting-edge, craft conossieur, such as the Lemon Pepper Pilsner. The bartenders are gracious enough to allow you to sample. I settled on a Kickboard, which was a tart wheat with a Streetpop's elderberry basil popsicle. To be honest I'm not usually a beer fan, but Mad Tree has so many options its become my go-to with friends. If you prefer your beer on the sweeter side I recommend Dreamsicle. Other favorites are Shade and Lift. The food is also AMAZING. The pizzas and the pretzel are my favorites. Dogs are welcome on their large outdoor patio, and dog bowls are available for water. Came here for our first time and brought our pups. We had such an awesome experience...it's great to find a place where we can be out and about but bring our fur babies with us. I always visit MadTree when in the area. I was happy to know they were open August 2020-not only serving beer, but also food. While the capacity was limited, MadTree had added additional properly spaced tables outside of their normal seating area. The floors were marked for one way traffic and spacing was adhered to. We also noticed every seat, chair, menu was immediately cleaned upon leaving. The staff were amazing! The kitchen was serving full menu and our table had a vegetarian pizza and a meat pizza--both were excellent. The salad was also very fresh and more than enough to share. I'm always impressed with the number of beer they have on tap, and this visit didn't disappoint. Definitely a great stop! read more
