Such a fun spot in Cincinnati! I loved the setup, as everything is very spaced out and there is a ton of seating options. MadTree, has done such a great job handling Covid-19, and I felt extremely safe. I ordered a flight as it was my first time here, and the bartender was very helpful when I was making my selections. I finally made it to the new location! I met my cousin for yoga held in the barrel room (I just call it that, seems appropriate) they have a great space for the yoga classes held there. We decided to stay for some brunch which turned into early afternoon drinks. Madtree has a great space for relaxing and having a good time with friends. I really enjoyed the huevos rancheros pizza, more that I expected to be honest, and the cinnamon roll was amazing. I enjoy many of the beers from Madtree but I opted to try their "beer-mosa" shandy and I was not disappointed! I wasn't sure how juice and beer would go together, but the lightness of the shandy and the refreshing taste of the juice really hit the spot! I will definitely be making my way back, although I may avoid the really busy times, they seem to get pretty packed... great for business! read more

I really preferred their old Kennedy Heights location. But that's because I prefer the smaller brewery feel. I do like some of their beers and I like the pizza I had the last time I was there. However, for me, their new location is simply too big for my comfort. Also, I really prefer the local craft breweries that don't can their beers for the grocery store. Nice place to stop and get a beer and some food. If you have a dog they have a patio that you can bring your Dow with you. Great selection of beer, not sure how many but enough to satisfy everyone. The fire bites(small peppers that are stuffed with cheese) were awesome. We had the three little pigs pizza, it was ok and a step above what i make are home but nothing to write home about. Great environment to sit hanging out and relaxing and enjoying friends just don't expect too much with the kitchen. MadTree has so much going for it. The space is HUGE. I have commented on other reviews about other spaces being large, but this is far larger than any of those. To go along with the large space is ample parking. The bar is double sided. This allows patrons to order from inside, or out on the patio. The patio is currently (March 2018) mostly tented. This, plus heat lamps, makes the patio useable even in colder weather. Tons of seating. High top tables, picnic tables, standard tables and chairs and bar seating are all available. Very family friendly. I saw more children's highchairs than I have seen at a Babies R Us. If one has ordered MadTree at local restaurants, bars, festivals, or picked some up at Kroger, you know what to expect. MadTree seems to be everywhere in Cincinnati. An advantage of drinking at the brewery is all of the specialty flavors. We seemed to all be in agreement that the Rubus Cacao (chocolate raspberry,) was our favorite. Where I had to remove a star, was the unattended dogs. If having dogs run up to where we were sitting happened once, I would have written it off. These things happen. When it happened frequently, without any staff instructing owners to hold the leashes, the behavior seemed to be allowed. Our party had ordered pizza from Catch-A-Fire. The frequent interruptions made dinner less enjoyable. We felt like we were in a dog park. The bartenders were absolutely amazing and nice. The service was incredible. Ryan and Dusty gave me great recommendations and served me in such a timely manner. The Christmas decorations were so festive and gave such a great atmosphere. However, I am sad to say that I am highly disappointed in the music ambiance. After conversing with the bartenders I was informed that they used pandora music. No wonder the music was awful! They need to switch to Spotify and take music requests. Taking music requests would've made my Madtree experience 10x better. Spotify offers the option to "add to the queue" and it would've given me something to look forward to during my time there, besides getting another pint ;) read more

I personally like that the indoor seating is designed to enjoy company and sports on the various tvs and the outside seating has some TV spots but a good amount of space to spread out and enjoy the sunshine /open air. Stopped in with my brother and his family. We were a little hungover from celebrating dads birthday the night before and brown Ale and pizza (pep and buffalo soldier) were just what the Dr ordered. I came here to celebrate my 21st birthday with my family and boyfriends family. I had a great experience at this place! The tap room is very large and there is additional seating at an outdoor patio (which is also fairly large). Catch-A-Fire pizza is attached to the taproom. I got a sampler to start and ultimately ended up drinking Nitro Shade. This was delicious for someone who is just getting used to the taste of beers. My family was also impressed with this place (they don't really venture out very much) and said I picked a great place to celebrate my birthday. We'll be back for sure!! I had no idea they moved. I was following Waze, and feeling weirded out that nothing looked familiar. And then I'm parking behind this huge building... and... wow! This place is huge - and while it doesn't quite have the charm of the old place, change is inevitable, and it's apparent here - it's large and airy, with a nice outdoor area, and plenty of space (and I mean *plenty* of space). It's definitely an improvement over their old space - with their food to the left when you walk in (instead of having to walk through the seating area, which was always crowded). Now you have *space*, they have indoor and outdoor bars, and there were doggos all over the outside! It's one of my favorite breweries in Cinci, and their new location is only an improvement. They have food, they have beer, they have *space* - and it remains a great place to be able to grab a flight (always grab a flight - especially if it's your first visit - and try styles you normally wouldn't!), grab a seat, order a pizza and just relax! read more

Awesome! The beer was fantastic (LOVED the Thundersnow Scottish Ale and the Button Smasher gose); ended up getting 2 flights for increased variety . Catch-a-Fire Cafe had excellent food (try the pretzel with beer cheese!) which complimented the beer nicely. AND there was excellent social distancing. This is a really cool place to hang out with friends, it is kids and dog friendly. The beer selection is plenty and they are decent. What makes it cool is the food is also very delicious. The pizza is better than any of the regular pizza restaurant. Parking is limited and this place is so popular, it is almost always full even during week days, let along friendly afternoon and weekends. Finding a table can be difficult. They do have security here during the peak hour, checking IDs and keep things in order. I happened to know one of the investors, sounds like they have been brewing for a long time and has been very successful. They actually helped some of their competitor to brew beers. read more

I have my bouts of knocking out review after review, and then not visiting my beloved Yelp for days. I AM SO SORRY. I am currently sitting in my second home, Blind Pig, and I will get this review together tonight and when I wake up I'll have more for you, I promise. Anyway, anyone who's ever read one of my reviews knows that I feel some type of way about beer. I especially have a close connection to Madtree. The first craft beer I had the feels for was Madtree's Happy Amber, so I had high expectations for their brewery. Luckily, they delivered. Madtree's brewery is located between the Pleasant Ridge, Madisonville and Oakley neighborhoods. I remember when they were planning on building it. My dad was concerned that the area wasn't the best position, and that they should move a la Rhinegeist and come downtown. In hindsight, I think that building in it in the suburbs was an excellent idea for multiple reasons. Not only did Madtree stay true to their roots, but the locals are more likely to enjoy it than out-of-towners. I work in the hospitality industry so I thoroughly enjoy tourists visiting Cincinnati - but that doesn't mean I don't like keeping things to myself sometimes! Anywho, when you walk in Madtree, it's a very simple set up. Their pizza friends are to the left, main bar and seating to the right, gift shop to the far right corner, and beer garden to the north. Everyone always reaches for the garden, but it was a hot day and I was content sitting at the bar. I really dig their flight set up. Had creamsicle been available, I could have made a beautiful set up of creamsicle, happy amber, shade & Lyft. Alas, the bartenders informed me creamsicle would make a reappearance in a few weeks. That simply means you'll see me around again soon. Yelp fam - I love you dearly. I promise not to take long hiatuses from my faves as much as I can. I made a pact to deliver (semi) quality reviews in a timely manner to my dear fellow Yelpers. A really nice brewery and taproom, with a ton of options, amazing outdoor seating, good food at the woodfired pizza restaurant, and super friendly staff. The only reason it's getting four stars instead of five is because the prices are little high, and this place becomes an absolute madhouse when the weather is the least bit nice and people are off work for any reason, as in your not parking there, you're not gonna be able to hear yourself think there, and good luck actually sitting down at a table. They have a huge space, and they fill it very often. But all the reasons that I just said you should go and check it out, that's why fills up so quickly, and that's also why you should go and check it out... So I met my parents here. They said they were going to be at madtree from 4:30-6:30 to listen so some band. They have a decently big parking lot in the back of the place but if that is full you can always park across the street at the crossroads parking lot. Ends up yesterday was Bonanza 2020 for madtree. I haven't been in a few years to it but it was a lot of fun. It is a once a year event and they have a couple of different places to buy tickets. All beers were a ticket a piece. You could pre-order your beer tickets online 5 for $30.00. The front parking lot was used for food trucks. They had Empandas Aqui, Beerded Pig and Red Sesame Korean BBQ. The have roughly 30 different beers to chose from from sours, IPA's,ambers, ales, stouts and a porter or two. The nitro infused beers are my favorite! They had quite a few different bands playing. Hickory Robot, Cereal Killers, Sour Pocket and DJ Fuseamania If you haven't been to Bonanza before I highly recommend going and checking out this fantastic brewery, you won't be disappointed! read more

What a cool brewery! I love their focus on environmentalism and more selfishly loved their electric vehicle charging stations (including Tesla destination chargers) in the parking lot. After visiting both Madtree locations many times there are pros and cons to each. I love what they did with this space and the renovations to the building. There is so much more room and an awesome outdoor patio. There are a ton of beers with a great variety for all beer drinkers. The bar is pretty long and they have two beer menus up on the wall with the beers available. There is no printed menu but the bartenders can usually point you in the right direction if it's not super busy. The pizza from catch-a-fire is really good and they have other options besides just pizza. Since the expansion Madtree has seemed to lose the neighborhood brewery vibe, but I guess that comes with growth. But it wouldn't hurt for the bartenders to be a bit more friendly and welcoming. I've visited the new location several times and always feel the service is sub-par. Really the only reason that I bumped down my stars. read more

My first time visiting MadTree Brewing was on the Fourth of July this year and it was kinda crazy. The place was pretty packed..though I hear it can get a lot busier..and there was really loud live music and a cookout going on on the patio. Honestly it was really cool here. I'm not much of a beer person (I know..I know) so I didn't really think I'd enjoy it here..but it was still a lot of fun. I was hoping they had a hard cider I could drink..but unfortunately they didn't. The bartender suggested a beer that was, in his opinion, the closest tasting to hard cider..so I went with that. It was called "Shade" and it was pinkish in color. It wasn't bad. It still tasted like beer..a taste I'm not a fan of..but it wasn't that strong of a taste. It was decent and I could see myself ordering it again. I'm hoping in the future they have a couple ciders on tap..I've been told in the past that they did..maybe it's the wrong time of year for them or something. But yeah, there was a fun energetic feeling to the place..and it was a really nice spot to hang out at on the 4th. There are communal tables all over, a couple of private tables, obviously a huge bar area, and a great patio out back. A lot of cool options for hanging out. They also have a restaurant attached to it..The Catch a Fire Cafe..where you can order food and eat it wherever. I've actually had Catch a Fire bookmarked for a while and need to check it out next time I visit the brewery. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys breweries, or are looking for a nice spacious bar to hang out in. The brewery building is amazing. There are large interior and exterior areas. Both areas are spacious. The inside feels very modern but outside really showcases the history of the building. They are dog friendly outside and there were sooooo many dogs here on a Sunday afternoon. The picnic table seating allows mingling with the other customers. The parking lot is huge but even so parking was a challenge. The beer was the only disappointment. This was our first time here, so we just may have not found the right beer yet. The dark beers were served way too cold, masking the flavors too much. We tried the following beers in two flights. I don't think I would seek any of them out again. The last morning of my vacation in Cincinnati I was traveling from restaurant to restaurant trying to find somewhere that didn't have over an hour wait to eat. Convinced I was about to die of starvation my friend suggested we go to Mad Tree Brewing which was conveniently nearby. I had never been before and I honestly didn't even realize it was in the area. I didn't bother checking if Mad Tree had food at this point I figured I'd either eat something or I could at least get a beer and drink until I forget how hungry I am. I'm not recommending that, but I was delirious with hunger. Upon arrival at MadTree I as instantly impressed with the size of the building and ample parking. My small group had no problem finding a place to sit on the patio. There were also plenty of seating inside still available. We also, luckily, discovered they indeed had food. While we were there they also had a large event area where they had a farmers market and a second smaller event room where people were painting their pets. Not to mention I really enjoyed every beer I tried and I was happy with my breakfast. Madtree quickly became my favorite Cincinnati brewery replacing Rhinegiest. Awesome beer, HUGE space, and great location! Some friends and I went to Cincinnati for a day and MadTree was one of the two breweries we decided to go to. We all loved our beers - I love IPAs and absolutely enjoyed their Psychopathy. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was PACKED! It was hard to find seating for a big group at first but we eventually found one. They have lot of tables inside and in their outdoor patio area (they have heaters so its not cold!) Also, they have a little gift shop in the corner and their pints/glasses are super cute and affordable. We definitely purchased some to take back home. This is my second or third visit and I live in indianapolis. That's how cool this place is. Their process at the bar is amazing. They swipe your card and you can order from anyone and keep that tab rolling. Makes it so easy. We ordered some pizza and hummus. The hummus is black bean and slightly spicy. Really robust flavors. Also had a few pizzas. Veggie, 3 pigs were great. Their sauce has a nice spice level but still good with crushed red peppers. Don't arrive hungry if they're busy. We waited over an hour for pizzas. I have loved Madtree since the beginning and it's so nice to see them so successful with the 2.0 location. The place is huge and stylish. It still has the warehouse feel with some added class. There are tons of different spaces... The main bar with the same long tables, the outdoor bar with some picnic tables (Still dog friendly), and the outdoor covered patio area complete with fire pits. Catch a fire pizza now has a much larger location, which is still great. There is foosball and shuffleboard in the corner. Parking can get a little hairy on busy nights, despite how large the lot is, this place is obviously super popular. It can be a fight to get a seat too. The bartenders are quick and helpful. We really like to get flights for some sampling before settling on favorite pints for the night. This place truly is a Cincy staple! read more

Recently gave these folks an honest review of my experience there and one of their associates reached out to try and rectify the issue...when you experience bad service from an unknown employee it's difficult to really pinpoint the problem or the person responsible...as I said in that review my main reason to be there is the winter farmers market they host...today I returned for that reason and decided I'd get a cup of coffee...the $4 cup of coffee was cold, when I brought that to the attention of the server he acted like it was a bother to deal with it...it's stressful to remove the cold coffee and replace it I understand, maybe he needs to take a nap after such a task...so after bad attitude guy replaced it I got another cup of coffee that was as bad as the one that stressed out that poor server...I wanted a cup of hot coffee, the server was apparently exhausted from that task so I didn't dare ask for more, nor did I ask for a refund, that might have sent him over the edge...so I just left with another lousy experience from this place...I'll return for the market but I'll avoid the coffee, beer or awful servers... read more
