I went here on Saturday night at 9:55pm. Yelp says they are open until 11:00, the sign on the door of the place says they are open until 11:00, but the doors were locked and the woman behind the grill looked at us and then looked away as we tried the door again. Then the guy mopping the floors did the same thing. C'mon folks, if you are running a business then respect your customers. Be open when you say you'll be open. read more

Had lunch here with some mates from work. Pretty decent environment, it's clearly a converted home of some sort. A bit on the small side for the interior, and quite frankly the exterior was a bit beat up as well. However, looks aside, this place had delicious authentic Mexican food for very reasonable prices. The staff were very pleasant, and pretty quick with bringing out our meal. Complimentary chips were a tad stale, but the home-made salsa was delicious. Great lunch or cheap dinner location, but not great for larger parties or even a dinner date. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for above-average Mexican food on the cheap. read more

Alright, i gotta relate my terrible experience this morning. I've been here a few times and gotta say, they make really good food, but there is a customer service aspect that they are missing. I usually go for the pozole, and i love it, but today they were out and told me after i had already paid. But right now i have to eat easily digestible food so I decided to go for the menudo, but i said "I'll take the menudo if I can have less tripe and more hominy." The nice woman at the register said yes thats fine, with a smile. She then asked if I wanted flour or corn tortillas with my menudo, and me being a picky bastard, i said "could I actually just get chips"? Once again she said yes thats fine with a smile. I got to go and when I get to work, I see there is barely any hominy in my menudo, and there is a gigantic amount of tripe along with a huge bone with cartilage in it as well. Also to make matters worse, there were no chips, but tortillas in my bag. I know, I seem like a picky person and if I ordered menudo, I should know that this is how it should be, but if they had told me that my requests could not be fulfilled, i wouldve ordered something else. I doubt it was the woman who took my order who decided to completely disregard my requests, but was probably the guy in the back who seemed (to me) somewhat moody. They make very good food, but someone there disrespectfully completely disregarded my requests even though they fooled me into thinking they were completely doable. I'll take my money over to Taco Dudes next door, where they understand customer service. Attached is a picture of the mound of bone, connective tissue, and tripe I recieved. *update I couldn't even eat the menudo, i took out all the stuff i didnt want but to be honest, it wasnt that good. The canned menudo at the store is tastier. My grandma makes menudo and hers is ten times better. Maybe it also ruined my meal that i was frustrated and annoyed, and feeling ripped off. So I went out again and ordered a pozole from taco dudes, and it was amazing! Go there instead! read more

Can you believe this? There are actually taco joints in Chino that has the usual likes such Tripas, Buche and Lengua.. I was on way to visit a friend and I saw this bright Neon sign that seem familiar. I tried my luck and hit jackpot. They do serve them here. However, it was kinda weird that everything else were only 1.25 except the Tripas which was 1.75. Why the price difference? So yeah, I end up getting the Buche and Lengua tacos only. As with most taquerias, this small unassuming restaurant is one that you would easily pass while driving and not even give it a second glance or thought. That would be ashamed because this small family run restaurant churns out some very solid food. The dining room is rather small and can be suffocating on a hot day. A small wall unit air conditioner provides the only relief. There is also a patio on which you can eat your food. The Steak Embollecado is reminiscent of fajitas. Small strips of beef are grilled along with onions and jalapenos. The entire dish is served with rice, beans and a packet of tortillas. The meat is very tender and flavorful. The sugar in the onions are brought out from the grilling process and helps to combat the heat from the grilled jalapenos. The peppers do pack somewhat of a punch but it is mellowed out by being cooked. At $5.99 this is a veritable steal. The Fish Taco is a nice sized piece of white fish that is grilled and topped with lettuce, diced cabbage and tomatoes. Unlike Baja style tacos, which are breaded, deep fried and topped with a white sauce, these tacos are a refreshing and more healthy change. This is a little hole in that wall that serves some of the more traditional types of Mexican food such as menudo, birria, and "exotic" meats such as lingua, tripa and cabeza. read more

We always do a take-out from this place. Customer service is good, but I always have a hard time communicating with them since most of the workers only speak spanish here. I love their machaca (they have the best machaca!) I cannot try machaca at any other places now because every time I tried it at elsewhere, I was always disappointed. So whenever I want machaca, I get it from this place. I also like their red and green sauce, but I prefer the red sauce. Their carne asada wet burrito is pretty tasty. I don't really care for wet burritos, but it is pretty good here (have to admit). Meat is well-seasoned and tasty. We tried their tacos once (lungua), but it was just ok, not that much flavor compared to their other meat. We've tried other dishes but don't really remember them since we always get machaca and carne asada wet burrito. read more

I came here today with my ex. He's from New Mexico, where I guess you are able to find taco stands on the side of the road where ever you go. He moved here and has been looking for a taco place that has tripas. Thanks to Yelp I found this place, and it happens to be right down the road from his place. We ordered tripas for him and I ordered myself one of buche. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. Nothing fancy on the outside, or the inside either, but the food is really good. I liked that along with your tacos they give you a grilled jalapeno and grilled onions on the side. They also offer fresh aguas (juices). The day we went they had pineapple, melon, and horchata. We both ordered pineapple, and it was refreshing, not too sweet. We will definitely come back! As we were eating we were already checking out the menu to see what we would like to try the next time we had a craving for some authentic Mexican food. read more

Walked in and ordered food to go yesterday. In came two people not wearing masks and they were not told anything. There's clearly a sign outside saying you must have a mask to enter. By allowing patrons to walk in without masks you're putting others in danger. You ran out of avocados. There's a grocery store a block away that you could have easily purchased some earlier in the day when you realized you would be running out. The receipt I got did not not have the prices of each item. I asked for an itemized receipt but the lady did not give it to me. And lastly it took a very long time for my food to be ready. Went here with the lady and had their amazing sopes per the recommendation of a prominent chef/restaurant owner in the Chino area. All I can say is WOW!!! The hand made sopes with plenty of meat were very, very tasty and the Agua de Jamaica was sweetened just right by not tasting too overbearingly sweet like most. This is my family's favorite Mexican food place in Chino. I normally get the carne asada quesadilla or the tacos and it's sooo good. For breakfast, my favoritr is the chile verde burrito. The salsa is also great and my husband and daughter love the horchata. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that they don't use shredded beef in their enchiladas and taquitos. read more

I had a weird craving for enchiladas the other week so I decided to try out this place since it's right by my work. This place is dated but still comfortable. I phoned in an order to go for their enchilada + taco combo plate. I got a chicken enchilada and al pastor taco. It came with a side of rice and beans along with a bag of fresh chips and salsa. The al pastor taco was so bomb! It was the best al pastor taco I've ever had! The meat was rich, tender and flavorful that was balanced by the warm tortilla, fresh cilantro and hot salsa. The chicken enchilada was amazing too. Very flavorful. The rice and beans were well rice and beans. It's really hard to screw these up. The chips were fresh and crispy. However, the only criticism I can give was that the quantity of food were definitely on the petite side. A toddler could finish this plate. I could've easily eaten 2 orders.
