The carne guisada came with a side of beans, yellow rice, and salad with chunks of potato, carrots, green olives, and tender chunks of beef in a thick sauce. I visit frequently, and my family and I typically spend around $80 each visit, so this restaurant has become one of our regular places to eat. However, there is one employee who works during the lunch hours, and I have repeatedly had issues when trying to order the lunch special (before 2pm). Almost every time I ask for it, she gives me a reason why it is not available or why I cannot receive the special. This has happened multiple times, and it makes me feel like I am being treated differently from other customers. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I truly enjoy the food and would like to continue supporting your business. Let me say that I've been coming to this place once a week for their weekly specials however today I decided to have an early lunch so I phone in my usual lunch special for 2 me and my coworker and when I arrived to pick it up I was informed that the lunch special was not available and if I still wanted my order they can start making it but I would have to pay full price. I informed the person named Angel, that I had phoned in the order and the lady never once mentioned that the lunch special was not available even after I asked her and she told me it's available Monday through Friday no mention of any time by the way. I was only 30 minutes early from their so-called 12:00 p.m. time frame I then said is there any way you can make an exception the guy said no you can pay full price he was very dismissive and not accommodating at all mind you I come here all the time and not once have had an issue. He then proceeded to tell me that they tried to call me on the phone which is a lie because I never received a phone call. And the fact that they didn't start cooking my food thinking I wasn't going to want it made me realize that this is not the first time they do it to someone. I strongly believe that this is a customer service issue not having to do with the restaurant the food is great don't get me wrong but after this experience I won't be coming back. I did not appreciate the tone he took with me and the issue was definitely not about having to pay full price which I'm okay with cuz it's only a dollar more but that's not the point the point is that he could have said it in a nicer way or he could have tried to work with me and not be so dismissive and rude. So beware if you are coming for the lunch special it is only available after 12:00 p.m. not a minute sooner.
