This hole in the wall place was near my hotel and decided to stop by, and was one of my favorites during my trip to california. The lady at the front was very kind, and told me the place has been open for 30 years!!! Tasting the food, i could tell why. I got and queso, jalapeño queso, bean and queso, and chicharron and queso pupusas. Along with this banana dessert the lady recommended. It took about 20 minutes but once i ate it, it was so worth it. The best pupusas in the inland empire. Very authentic taste and decent size per pupusas. They have a few other typical dishes that are also very delicious. I definitely suggest calling in an order even though you may need to try and call a few times. They always have lines, so my recommendation is to call 20 minutes ahead before pick up the order if you don't want to get line and wait the food. They close the third Wednesday of the month. They just let me know. Sometimes they may close early due to a shortage of staff. read more

I'm so disappointed with the pupusas revueltas. They were bland and the beans had a burned taste. They were not the worse though, the chicken tamales were awful I threw one out I couldn't eat it. I was in the area because I was going to a dentist appointment. I saw that despite had really good reviews on yelp, so I was really excited! I hadn't had pupusa since the start of the pandemic! I called in and placed a phone order at around 11 am. It was pretty slow, so thankfully minimal interaction. FYI - The individual I spoke with over the phone only spoke Spanish. I had to pull from high school Spanish, but got through it! They were super friendly! So I appreciated they were flexible with me and my broken Spanish. They told me it would take about 15 minutes and it was done within that time. I appreciated that they were accurate with the wait time. The parking lot is also super small, there is only one entrance and exit, so be mindful of that if you're coming during a busy time. I came in and my order was ready. Super easy process for COVID, highly recommended. I got pupusa con queso and pupusa con chicharron y queso for $7. SUCH A GREAT DEAL! They were fresh and cheese was gooey. I preferred the chicharron gave it a nice salty-ness to the cheese. The curtido (the pickled vegetables on the side) was a little spicy for me. I had to down it in tomato sauce, but made it work. There is nothing fancy about the restaurant, in fact the first things you'll notice are The iron security bars around the window and the security door as well as the banner hanging above the door. This is definitely not an area where you would want to be after dark but the food is definitely worth a little bit of risk! I came around 4:30 and tried calling a handful of times to see if I could order over the phone but it kept sending me to voicemail. Fortunately there wasn't a long line and it only took about five minutes for my order of four Pupusas to be ready. This was surprising since I read other reviews that mentioned wait times of 10 to 30 minutes to get their order! On to the real rewiew... the Pupusas are Supercalifragalisticexpialdelicious! I ordered 4 Pupusas to go for my wife and I. The Revueltas Pupusas made my mouth water with all of the cheese, beans and chicharones oozing out of the sides. I ordered 2 pupusas revueltas + horchata and waited around 20 minutes, which wasn't bad. I've gone to some pupuserias where I've waited over an hour so 20 min wasn't bad at all! The interior of the restaurant isn't super luxurious but it was clean and honestly that's all that mattered because we came for their food. Definitely a hole in the wall, in the sketch part of Pomona, but when we got there it was packed with people which is always a good sign! We ordered 2 cheese and 2 bean and cheese Pupusas and they were AMAZING! They were super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Made to order and mine were filled with the perfect bean to cheese ratio. My husband's was overloaded with cheese. That's never a bad thing :) They were a good, big size, enough that 2 filled up my husband. I ate one with all the fixings and can't wait to eat my leftovers later. Will definitely be back again.
