This place fully satisfied my pupusa and Salvadoran breakfast cravings! The food took a little while to come out but I wasn't bothered because I knew everything was being made fresh. The Revueltas pupusa was delicious, with beans, chicarron, and hot melted cheese. The flavor was on point. The Casamiento, bananas, and sausage was also amazing. But the Pastelitos really stole the show! They are basically beef and potatoes served in an empanada type crust, which is so hot and crunchy yet soft in the middle. The Pastelitos came out at the end and I was already pretty full but I just wanted to keep eating. For 4 pupusas, a breakfast plate, 2 Pastelitos, and 2 drinks it was almost $50, so a little steep, but overall very worth it! Home style traditional recipes at their best. read more

Delicious pupusas!! Coming here is like going to abuelitas kitchen. We walked in and as soon as I ordered la mama de la cocina got right to work making our order. While we waited we watched the dubbed movie they had playing and I took a peek at all the sodas and goodies they have near the counter. The food came out piping hot! The pupusas are on point along with the salsa and curtido. I ordered the revueltas and they are my favorite so far. I've been to the other surrounding salvadorian restaurants in Pomona and this the best so far. I hope they stay consistent. I will return and try the tamales, they only had elote when I visited. I came here after craving for some pupusas for a while and wanted to try a new place. I chose to get revueltas pupusa ($3.75) and carne guisada ($14.99). The revueltas was filled with cheese, beans, and bits of chicharron with a side of curtido. The pupusa was crispy and the curtido which reminds me of korean kimchi or sauerkraut, went well with it. The carne guisada is a beef stew that was tender and came with sides of beans, rice, and a cabbage salad/salsa (?). There's street parking and a small lot. A good amount of tables inside with the tv playing 80s movies. The staff is nice and the place is clean. read more

This restaurant is walking distance from Fox Theater and I heard that they had pupusas so I had to give it a try! The portions were way bigger than expected and each pupusa is a little under $4. They have various types but I had the one with pork. I highly recommend it. They also provide curtido, which had a bit of a kick, and some sauce for free. read more

Came here to try out the papusas and look for something for my potluck for work celebrating historic heritage month. When i walked in, i noticed the door handle was broken. Um.... Different. i see a letter grade of an A by the door so i let it go. It can't be too bad, right? They do NOT have menus. The guy at the front said its new and don't have any yet. He pulled out a spiral binder and showed me a list of items they serve. That's why I couldn't find any pictures online. I didn't think anything of it and I ordered two items. One with cheese and jalapeño and one with chicharron. I looked through their pre-packaged cookies and bread while i was waiting and all were from 4 months ago. One even had mold on it! I handed it to him and I asked to see if they had any items with fresher dates and they said no. Um, I am now a little worried. I wanted to get some type of el Salvadoran food from here, but I just couldn't do it. I was afraid that things would be too old. Now onto the pupusas. The chicharron was VERY GOOD! The Curtido lacked something for me, but their sauce was good and covered up what the curtido lacked. I'm torn because on one aspect I was completely let down, but on the other, the food was really tasty. I would encourage you to try the food but leave the shelf items ALONE! read more

To be honest the food was fine, services was fine (the guys at the front desk just didn't seem happy but hey maybe he was having a bad day. Visited in the morning, tables were full with only 1 worker taking order and making food.When the food was served some time later, my plate was dirty like it hadn't been washed and the food was very cold. It could've been because the ac was on full blast. When we decided to leave we gathered our things and a ROACH came from my plate. My mom and I usually only go there for the pupusas and the horchata. Today (12/31), my mom went and decided to order food from there. Where to begin... first off, she ordered 3 atoles de elote. Instead of giving 3 cups, they gave her 1 large and 1 small cup. The guy said it equaled 3 cups. I guess to save money on their end and the customer has to share a cup? If that wasn't bad enough, it wasn't thick AT ALL. It didn't even have corn kernels and it was white in color (it should be yellowish). It did smell like corn but didn't taste like corn. I have the feeling that they ran out and watered it down with the water from a can of corn. We also bought pan con Pollo. Oh wow, it should be shredded chicken in gravy sauce... not a whole dry chicken leg with the bone still attached. It should have watercress, radish, cucumber slices, gravy so it's moist and if it's a lot of gravy, you can add a lettuce leaf under the chicken to keep the bread bottom dry. This only contained 1 slice of cucumber. Apart from the dry jerky like chicken leg (no gravy), it had a TON of jalapeños. The whole sandwich smelled like vinegar, you know, like those jalapeños that come with carrots and onions. The pupusas, which is what I typically buy from here, were also a letdown this time. They felt harder, as if they were made the day before and reheated. I am never buying regular food from here again. Im only sticking to pupusas, and that's it. I would give them a 1 star based on tonight's service, but since I know they can do better (at least on pupusas), so I'm giving them 2 stars. read more

Even better than the Salvadorean live-in maid that cared for my grandmother in the 70s and until 1980. The best. There's going to be a wait, but it's more than worth it.
