They have a self serve salsa bar with other sides, you can get as much or as little as you personally need. Portions are pretty big. Street tacos have a ton of meat! Personal favorite is the Carnitas, well seasoned and isn't dry. Their street tacos has 2 tortillas stacked, sometimes it's too much meat I unstack the 2 tortillas and split the taco into 2.. oh no haha! Carne Asada Nachos are always a huge portion and definitely shareable. Never had an issue with the chips becoming soggy even if we're slowly enjoying them while watching a movie. Carne Asada Fries are kind of a hit or miss. Sometimes they're soggy, sometimes they're crispy.. It personally doesn't matter but you may need to ask for extra crispy if soggy fries isn't your thing. read more

If you're craving Mexican food El torito loco in chino is a great option . Their menu is extensive and offer various items it was hard to even decide what i wanted. Portions are pretty big and items are definitely loaded up. It is a very tiny resteraunt and has limited tables but there are also outdoor tables as well. The staff were really nice and we didn't wait long for our items. I ordered the taquitos plate and my friends ordered asada fries , sope, and breakfast burrito (breakfast is served all day) . Out of all the items i would recommend the taquitos plate. Overall i would say the food was pretty good and the price was fair. They also offer complimentary chips and have a salsa bar. read more

Fish tacos are excellent. The batter is crunchy, and there's a lot of fish. The carne asada was tender and flavorful, and tacos are huge, and the price reflects that. This place can be a bit on the slow side so order ahead during rush hours. read more

Busy spot especially during the lunch rush but decent food. I got a beef flauta combo plate but tried a bit of the chicken and actually preferred that. Also had a horchata which was nice and not too sweet and came in a large cup. Service was friendly and there's a salsa bar to grab your own salsas and condiments. We stopped by for a quick bite and ended up loving just about everything we tried. The carne asada tacos were packed with flavor and came with a generous portion of meat -- super satisfying. I also ordered the Coronado dish, which was equally delicious and full of flavor. My only wish is that it came with more corn tortillas; it came with just three, and honestly, five would've made it perfect. First time dining in at El Torito Loco with the fam, and we each went our own route with the orders-- mi mama got the chicken tostada salad, mi papa went for the taquito plate, mi hermano tackled the loco asada fries, and I kept it simple with a chorizo breakfast burrito (blessed that they serve breakfast burritos all day ). Service was quick, and we grabbed a booth indoors. The place has that hole-in-the-wall, local staple feel--nothing fancy, just straight-up food and a salsa bar that does most of the heavy lifting. Seriously, the salsas are the MVP here. The portions were generous, but the flavors didn't really wow us. Everything needed a little salsa love to bring it to life. Ordered a "make your own" two item combo. I opted for the cheese enchilada with green sauce and a potato taco. Each combo plate comes with rice and refried beans. (I originally wanted to try the chile relleno but they ran out for the day). After placing my order at the counter, we found a table and were given a basket of tortilla chips and our food orders were delivered shortly after. There is a small salsa bar located in the middle of the restaurant filled with mild to hot salsas, pickled jalapeños and carrots, radishes, diced onions, chopped cilantro, and shredded cabbage. I really enjoyed my food, everything was so filling and flavorful. I recommend trying all the salsas, I couldn't decide which one I liked most , they were all so tasty! I'll definitely be back to try the chile relleno, hopefully they'll have some available next time! Lol read more

First thing caught my eye was the fresh salsa bar should of took a pic of but my chilireno pic should give you the heads up!! that cilantro green salsa is bomb !! Shredded beef burrito mojado (wet burrito with green sauce) was so good. I usually don't enjoy shredded beef but it was tender and flavorful and did not get stuck in my teeth. The service was very nice and quick. It should have more sauce in my opinion for the size of this burrito. This spot is a little pricey, but understandable given its location. read more

Excellent fast service here: I was craving nachos for some odd reason. I ordered their Carne Asada nachos with rice instead of beans. I didn't think it was going to show up as extremely loaded carne asada nachos with Extra bag of chips and salsa. The serving size given out was so generous here that I ate some of the leftovers for breakfast this AM . I'll be back for another type of nachos soon. We have ate here multiple times and since the owner change it has gone downhill. The meat quality has gone downhill and makes me feel sick. The prices have skyrocketed each time... now over $20 for a fajitas place that a year ago was $14. After tax is like $22 plus they charge to use your card. My family and I went out shopping and afterwards got hungry, so we decided to stop by this place to try it out. Two of us sat outside while the other two went inside to order. As my sister and I were sitting outside, she noticed three live roaches crawling underneath our table. We immediately told our mom, but she tried to brush it off at first since it was outside in the picnic area and not inside the restaurant. However, when she went inside to wait for the food, she saw several more roaches inside the restaurant--including one dead roach lying right next to the register! She was absolutely disgusted and asked for a refund. The cashier refunded our money right away without asking any questions, which makes me believe they already know this is a problem. The fact that there were multiple live roaches both inside and outside, and even a dead one by the register, is beyond unacceptable. This was one of the most unhygienic and disturbing restaurant experiences we've ever had. I would never eat here again, and I strongly recommend others stay away. Absolutely disgusting! read more

Was in the Chino Hills area and have been wanting to check this place out ever since I saw it next to Lee's Sandwiches. I ordered their California Burrito and it was a very large size. I think the prices are a little high compared to other burrito shops but I think they make up for it with the free chips they give you and an outstanding salsa bar. Their salsas are all delicious, they have hot carrots for free and pickled onions. I was just picking up some food on the way home but I will say the staff were just so incredibly nice. The girl taking my order and the older lady who was cleaning up the tables and checking on customers who were eating inside were both helpful and kind. It's a nice little spot to eat inside and I love that you can just get up and get more salsa if you want. read more

This was my first time trying their food and my go-to is always tacos. I ordered one shredded chicken and one shredded beef hard shell taco. The tacos are $3.70, which seems steep for a taco; HOWEVER, they do not skimp on the meat. Definitely worth the price. I also loved their salsa bar. A lot of Mexican food restaurants have pretty similar salsas but the ones I tried were pretty unique. It was a good compliment for the food and the side of fresh chips they provided. I was craving enchiladas with a side of homestyle cooked refried beans and rice. Well, El Torito Loco came through and satisfied the craving. I ordered cheese enchiladas in a red sauce. The sauce was so satisfying. Delicious in every bit I took. The beans were almost as good as my grandmother's. The iced Jamaica drink added a delightful touch to the amazing food experience.
