Fish tacos and shrimp ceviche
Hollie W.

Stopped by here for a quick bite after a hike. I got two battered fish tacos and the shrimp ceviche. The fish tacos were freshly fried and it was a decent sized piece of fish for $5 a tacos. I do think the price is steep for what you get. The shrimp ceviche was not good. The fish was over marinated, and it was a really tough, chewy texture. I do appreciate the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. There's also a large parking lot so it's pretty easy to find parking.

Baja fish tacos on flour tortilla

This spot is tucked right off the freeway in an unassuming plaza, so it's easy to miss but worth finding. I didn't realize they had so many SoCal locations, and this one has become my go-to for fish and potato tacos. They charge extra for flour tortillas, but trust me, fish tacos hit different on flour. My usual order: the Baja fish taco with all the fixings, a potato taco, and an Orange Bang to wash it down. They also have weekday taco specials! My husband got the surf and turf burrito it had to be at least 2 lbs and we both loved the Tostada de Ceviche Mixto. Service is quick and casual (order and pay before eating), with plenty of seating and a clean setup. Pro tip: ask for chipotle mayo on the side - it's a game changer.

More than GREAT! This place never disappoints. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often! Every visit reinforces why it's my go-to spot. The food is consistently fresh the kind that makes you savor each bite and notice the bright flavors in every dish. The service is terrific very friendly and genuinely on top of things. They never get it wrong with our special requests, which makes the dining experience easy. They also have weekday specials that are a welcome treat great value without compromising on quality. Fresh chips and salsa begin the meal on a high note, and they never disappoint. My favorite thing to order is the shrimp tacos. They arrive with juicy shrimp, flavorful toppings, and a balanced sauce that makes each bite pair perfectly with the tortillas. It's the dish I judge a place by, and this one passes with flying colors every time.

I recently met my best friend here for lunch. I ordered a Grilled Fish Taco and a Hardshell Potato Taco. She ordered the #3 Combo, which included one shrimp taco, one fish taco, rice, beans, and a soda. I asked the cashier if I could substitute a potato taco for a fish taco so I could get the #1 Combo, but she said they don't allow substitutions. Our orders came out surprisingly fast, and both of my tacos were delicious! My best friend raved about her shrimp taco. I tasted her beans, and they were really good. We definitely plan to meet here again. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area!

It was my first time at this restaurant since my friend had recommended this place for us to meet up for lunch. I have to say that I really enjoyed my fish and shrimp tacos. You order at the register and you are pretty much on your own after that! I enjoyed their drink options too. Everybody was very friendly and the place was clean! I can't wait to try other options off of their menu..

Great gem hidden in a small plaza. All the dishes we ordered were served quickly and yummy. The menu offered good variety of tacos, burritos, ceviche, and drinks. Kids loved the tacos. Would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Went here for dinner last night. Wife wanted fish tacos and I wanted shrimp cocktails and ceviche. She suggested her favorite fish to place which is Ensenada Surf and Turf. She ordered two fish tacos fried, I ended up ordering one fish taco, one shrimp tacos (both fried) and one mango shrimp ceviche tostadas. The fish and shrimp tacos are hands down very tasty and delicious. One of the best in town. The mango shrimp ceviche was also excellent. My only thing is that the bottom tostada got soggy from the juice. No worries we still ate all of it. Next time I order it I will ask for more tostadas. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. If you can't decide, what they suggest are usually great. We will keep coming back. On one note, I wish they update their drinks and add more

Baja's Burrito (huge)

I liked it. Was craving a fish burrito and came in for lunch. Inside is clean and pretty spacious with a decent amount of seating. I got the Baja's Burrito and it was good! Fish and shrimp inside. The burrito is pretty big too. You'll definitely catch the itis after eating the whole thing like I did lol. Their red salsa has a good flavor but I wouldn't have minded more heat for my own taste. Overall a good spot. Would definitely come back. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the business center lot.

Breaded fish tacos

Really good breaded fish tacos! The breaded fish were huge and the toppings were loaded to the top! Well battered, fish is crispy but tender on the inside. Incredibly delicious! Definitely coming back :) I've been to the one in Fullerton and it's pretty much the same - clean environment, fun ambiance, good music and great service. Parking was abundant!

Such fantastic fish tacos. I used to be a big fan of Rubio's when they had plenty nearby me. But now that they closed the two closest to me it's slowly dropped off as being a regular place to go. Yet I never forgot how much a good fish taco hits the spot. Ensenada has those good fish tacos that are impossible not to crave more often than not. The fish is fresh, flaky, and firm where i t needs to be instead of a mushy mess. Both tacos I had were simply amazing and I was this close to order one more. The service was great. Everyone was so courteous and answered all my questions as a first-timer. And the space is fantastic, so much room and you don't feel on top of each other. I even had time to put a good dent into the book I brought along. My only gripes were the rice wasn't the best, containing some sub-par veggie elements in the corn and peas. This is especially striking because I liked the refried beans. I'm tempted to just ask for all beans next time. And the cookie I added as a treat was just kind of foul, more demonically hard and full of trail mix additives like dates, pecans, anddried coconut than more tasty elements like chocolate, caramel, or peanut butter. The cookie ruined my meal completely. Gladly, I know for next time to stay away from those evil baked items and just fill up on the goodness and joy that are the fish tacos. And I will be back for them, I swear it.

Came here for the first time last night after living down the street for 3 years. We came in for a late to go dinner. My immediate reaction was shocking. Lol I didn't realize how big it actually was. I ordered a combo with a fountain drink, rice, beans and 1 fish and 1 shrimp taco and a large shrimp cocktail. 1 extra fish taco also. We waited about 10minutes. Asked for extra salsa at the counter. Got home and was delighted to see how tasty the cocktail was. The portion does seem small for $21 but it is packed with shrimp. Happy to say the fish and shrimp inside the batter was seasoned well. The rice is buttery with peas and carrots and the beans are house made which is always a plus! The 4 stars is for the prices of everything. The prices are up there. Another location we also love is Señor Baja in Chino. This location has specials during the week so we definitely will be back. Shares lot with Starbucks and Dennys amongst other businesses so it's pretty full sometimes

Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work…read more It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. The workers at the Kickin' Crab location we usually go to are way more laidback and friendlier, yet still maintain impeccable service. Would not return.

I'll start with the good, which was the service; I found our server to be very nice, attentive, and helpful with giving us recommendations throughout the night. However, I felt the food was very expensive for what we received, the portion sizes were not very big, and the overall quality was just not good. I noticed the flavors were mostly just salty and spicy, to the point where I couldn't really taste the intrinsic flavor of the seafood itself. I ordered the mixed seafood cocktail, but it had mostly lemon juice and tasted much more like a ceviche than a traditional cocktail. Most concerning of all, I could tell something was off with the seafood, and it ended up giving me a major upset stomach after eating here. Considering how much we paid for just 2 entrées, combined with the fact that it made me sick, it is highly unlikely that I will ever return.

5/1/2026 Been so…read morelong since I've had a pan roast! I thought there weren't any more places that make pan roasts, but happy to have found one in Chino Hills! HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! Only one server, but she checked back with everyone and all around better than most places I've been at recently. Lots of people came in 30-40 mins before closing time. The Boiler is located in a large shopping plaza, so there is plenty of parking. They don't take reservations, but there was no line at opening, and they were able to accommodate my party of 10 without issue. They have both tables and bar seating. Of course I had to try their House Pan Roast that has shrimp, crab, clams, scallops, and the trinity in a tomato cream-based sauce. It also comes with a scoop of jasmine rice, but you can sub for pasta as well. You choose your spice level ranging from 0-10. I can't handle very much spice, but a spice level of 1 was not spicy at all, and spice level 3 really didn't have much spice either. Our server told us that a 6 or 7 is about sriracha level in terms of spiciness. The House Pan Roast overall was very tasty, and I enjoyed having a variety of seafood! The portion of rice isn't too large, but I appreciate that they give you complimentary bread, so it was great for dipping in my remaining pan roast!
