My review is going to sound a bit harsh, but only because this place makes good Mexican food and with a little a tweaking could have made me a happier customer. I ordered a pork tamale, tacos, and a chile relleno burrito. My chile relleno burrito was filled with 80% rice and 20% beans. For me the rice ruined the burrito. However, the 'chile relleno', in the burritto, was very good and one of the best I've had in a while.. I am also flummoxed by the pastor tacos, as the meat had a strong tomato bbq sauce taste, maybe a regional thing? The tamale was on the small side, but had a decent pork meat to masa ratio, and was not dry. If you're not doing Kirkland tamales, then these have to be ordered a day ahead if you want a dozen for your Christmas table. The salsa's were super tasty. I ordered a small order of salsa, which they forgot to place in my to-go bag. Lot's of seating inside. read more

3.5 for the food 5 stars for the concept and friendly service. My GF had her baby shower catered by Taqueria Y Marisco Madrigal. A mobile taco truck came by the house and quickly set up. Minutes later, we were in line for all you can eat tacos! yaaay! This is very convenient for those of you who want to throw a party and not have to deal with the drama of cooking and cleaning---the food part, that is. I think she said it was $350 for 2 hours---catering to 50 people. - carne asada: good. - pollo: very good. - carnitas: too mushy, and had the pork stench. - tortillas: nice and warm Service: 2 thumbs up! I came here on a recommendation and I was definitely pleased with this tasty little mom n' pop joint. We ordered a fish burrito that was very fresh and the ceviche. This is the best ceviche I have ever had in the inland empire. It was a shrimp ceviche and it was so fresh. It came along with tostadas, which I piled high with the ceviche and hot sauce. While we were waiting, a lady who worked there was very sweet and gave us chips and salsa to munch on while we waited. Everything was very authentic and delicious. I will definitely be back! read more

This place is a local Mom and Pop joint with outstanding food. I've tried the Carne Asada Burrito, the House Breakfast Burrito, Tacos and the Cuban Torta. The chips are homemade and the salsas here are great. The service is quick and friendly. The homemade Horchata is the best i've ever had. I was also given some fresh Guava juice (agua fresca) and it was great. Don't turn away from this place because it is small or isn't nicely decorated, go for the food. On a side note, don't plan on having a quiet dinner here. The TV's volume in the dining room is cranked up and playing Novelas. read more

This was my PLACE a few years back. It's been about five years since I've been back, but looked at the Yelp reviews and decided to try it out again. I was sadly disappointed. The asada meat had a funky after taste-- I think maybe from the oil? The pastor was also very sweet for my liking and the shrimp taco tasted like it was drenched in mayonnaise (rather than cream). I couldn't even stomach finishing my food. Thinking of trying this spot? Don't. It's not worth it. read more

Decided to give this place a shot and ordered delivery. Got the beef enchiladas and they forgot the beans and rice; the carne asada in the enchiladas was ok, not great. My girlfriend and I also got several street tacos and they only provided limes, nothing else, no chile or salsa. Every other Mexican place I've ordered from provides more than just limes to put on your tacos. Overall the food was mediocre, and they forgot or don't provide basic condiments that other Mexican restaurants provide. I won't be ordering from here again; disappointed. read more

Fish taco special on Tuesday. All other taco specials are on Wednesday. They do a good job here providing authentic Mexican food. We ordered to go the first time and enjoyed all of our tacos. The next time we sat in comfortably and brought the kids. I had the shrimp fajitas & let me tell you...so delicious! I ate it all, without the tortillas (paleo). Ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was ginormous. Lots of chicken and cheese and my Daughter enjoyed it. My son ordered the asada nachos. So good! They were pretty big and we all tried a little. Delicious Mexican food. That's what you'll get here. I came in and got 4 tacos (2 al pastor and 2 lengua) and a carne asada quesadilla. The tortillas on the tacos were fresh and not falling apart like other places. The al pastor meat was juicy and seasoned well with the right amount of heat. The lengua was fork tender and juicy as well. The carne asada quesadilla was a good size and gooey as it should be. I will definitely be back to try more items from their menu. read more

Sadly their customer service went to crap. Their food is still good, kinda. If you want bomb fish tacos, go next door! For the high prices we expected good service and food. They messed up our burrito and then wanted to RE CHARGE to replace it! Seriously?? Yeah sadly we won't come back here anymore. Too overpriced and always forgetting things even when reminded. read more

Mmmm, so delicious! Mainly everything from this restaurant is really flavorful! For example, this tray of ceviche de camarón!!! So clean, fresh and great tasting! I've ordered food from Madrigals for quite some time now and I've never stopped to think.. hey, I should leave them a review.. why? Because I'm hungry and I want to grub! Well just recently, my husband got me started on Keto and I have yet to look back. Today I felt like shrimp fajitas, but wait!!.. I can't have rice and beans, no problem! I asked for a salad. WOW. I thought this was going to be a simple salad, lettuce tomatoes and ranch. They added CHEESE. Cheese!! We love Madrigals!! The food here is delicious!! We eat here at least once a week. For breakfast we love their Chorizo, Chile Verde & Huevos con Papa Burrito! The flavor in Amazing! I some times order the Chile verde burrito for lunch too, very flavorful! Their enchilada combo plate is good too, I normally order it with carnitas & combo of both sauces. On Wednesday's they have taco specials, we normally get Carnitas, apastor & asada tacos, all very yummy! Their lunch burritos are delicious too with so much flavor, you can add any meat you like. They have fresh fruit juice & orchata daily it's so delicious! We always look forward to seeing what fresh juice they prepared for that day. Customer service has always been great. They are all very nice. This is a family owned business which we love to support. I think it's great to support small business in our community. This place is worth trying! read more

This place has the best burritos! although they probably deserve 3 stars I still want to keep them in business. The A/C doesn't work all that great and tables were left unclean. My partner ordered the chicken burrito and over heard the cook tell the owner that they needed more chicken hence being very selfish with the not so much chicken and instead added more rice and beans.. I know this because I ordered the carne asada burrito and it had a massive amount of meat. The red sauce that did come with the chicken tasted out if the can, c'mon you guys are doing so well.. I'm really contemplating on brining down that star.. kidding.. the guys that worked here were very sweet. I shall be back soon! read more

The pricing is fair and the food to me was pretty good! I had the fish tacos, el pastor taco combo plate and the ceviche mixa. It was all good. I got 3 el pastor burritos for my sons, and they did not like it at all. I did try to order the tamale, and the guacamole, but both was NOT available?? We had the asada and al pastor tacos, not good. Asada meat has no flavor al pastor tacos are a joke. The carnitas burrito is very good so is the lengua burrito. The pineapple water is very very good so is the horchata. Beans and rice is so so, not great and at least not rancid. Friendly service. read more

With all due respect, the lady taking orders (shorter, older, perhaps the owner?), should let someone else take orders, or step up on the common sense game. She disregards people standing in line to take phone orders, taking her sweet time instead of asking the person to hold for a moment. It happened once, and I let it go. This second time I went, the same thing happened, so I'm not going to let it happen a third time, hence I'm not coming back. Their food is just okay, nothing to write home about. I'd come back if their service was better, but frankly they didn't give me a reason to. Please, focus on the patrons standing in line instead of devoting your entire attention to the phone. We've all got places to go, people to see, and things to do. Thanks. read more

I really want to give this place at least 4 stars because I really enjoy their food and the workers are friendly. I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars because I'm really BIG on hygiene and they don't use gloves. They use their bare hands when cooking our food, putting the tortilla chips in the bags and even picking up the lemons and placing them in the bags with their hands. I also didn't like the fact that the cashier didn't use soap when she washed her hands before putting the tortilla chips in the bags. There are too many germs and diseases to not use gloves when dealing with food that has to go into someone's mouth. PLEASE start using gloves because I don't want to stop coming because I fear contracting something. Thank you. read more

Been coming here every Tuesday for the past year now and plan on continously, so many combinations to try and everything so far has been standout! I just went here cause it was close by the place I was staying at for vacation, but man it's my second time trying out this place! This place is known for its delicious Mexican food, this place is definitely authentic, it has won awards in 2015 and has been presented in the magazine as one of the greats, I'm sure it's one of the greats in chino. Although; it's a little small joint the place has televisions not that I care for it but if I lived in this area I would be coming all the time if I ever wanted to eat the food here. The workers here are kind and friendly and you could see them make the food right in front of you two cause the kitchen where they cook is behind the register. I first want to say if I could I would leave no stars! One word: MICE! Went with a co-worker, ordered two good looking dishes. Part way in to the meal we saw a good sized rat/mouse dragging itself across the dining room floor. Enough said. Ps - Health department called. Will never return. read more

After serving 22 years at Stark and Sons Dairy, they relocated to New Mexico. Being we are from California going to New Mexico wasn't an option. We began cooking in the back yard as a way to make extra money. The support was incredible. We opened in 2004

Meet the Business Owner: Alfonso and Josefina M.

After working for Stark and Sons Dairy in Chino California for 22 years, Mr. Madrigal was told of his job moving to New Mexico and asking him to move with them. What do you do when 5 kids and a wife say "NO!", "NO WAY!", "What about my friends". A few weeks passed. One day while sitting around the table for dinner Mr. Madrigal explained a vision he had with Josefina's amazing food, in a restaurant environment. He explained how tough it would be. He let us know it would start in our own back yard only on weekends. We started immediately cooking that weekend. With amazing support from friends and family, our home became the place to go for dinner on weekends. We opened up our very own family operating restaurant, February of 2004. These were two identical burritos, but they put one in a plastic to-go box, and the other only wrapped with paper. When we told them these were for separate orders, the waitress brought over a paper bag for me to separate out my burrito. It just doesn't make sense why two identical orders should be done differently.

We had to ask for our drink more than once, and we asked the cashier if we needed to pay for a bigger bowl of chips. She said no, but when we asked for another small bowl they told us twice we would need to pay- yes we had no problem paying that wasn't the issue. When our food finally came the waitress set our dishes down and just walked away. We will not be back purely due to service.

We waited for a table while the hostess was seated at the table next to where we were standing. They had one waitress covering the handful of patrons which led to long waits for everything. We ordered Camarones a la Diabla and the taquito combo. They screwed up and gave my wife flautas instead. I got medium spiciness for the shrimp but there was no spice. After I ordered more food because of the portions this place provides. The food portions are like a cross between kindergarten and a fancy restaurant. The food portions offer more plate than food and the rice comes in the shape of whatever scoop was used. After ordering more food, the waitress then told me that she should've let me know that what I ordered wasn't very popular because of the size.... Because there are only like 8 small shrimp. Beyond the problem with the portions, the taste wasn't very good. It's definitely an upgrade to Taco Bell... but consistent with Mexican food in a primarily Caucasian neighborhood. After messing up the order, they then forgot a drink I'd ordered. The restaurant was quieter than Kalaveras, which they replaced. It was much quieter and didn't have the club feel.

The prior Irish pub used to have some music and dancing I can't remember maybe on Thursdays or something and it was pretty popular so why they made the change I don't know but now it's permanently closed. Let's get something in here that's well liked and tolerated by everybody that can last a few years instead of every other year there's something new struggling to make it go. Their street tacos and food platters weren't bad and the beer was always cold, it was a quiet place to hide out but I guess that was its downfall sometimes you could be the only one in there or two or three other people and that won't pay the bills in a location that's known for high rent.

When we arrived, the restaurant was completely closed. There's just no consistency with the hours, and it left all of us hungry, frustrated, and needing to find another place to eat. We were excited to support the spot, but this experience was pretty disappointing. Reliable hours would make a huge difference.
