Here's a polished Yelp review: Really enjoyed our brunch here. What stood out most was that the food was brought out in the right order and with real care. It did not feel like they were just serving plates. It was obvious the meal was prepared thoughtfully from beginning to end. The bacon was thick, the sausage was great, and the eggs were done right, which is harder to find at brunch places than it should be. You can tell they actually put effort into the details. My wife also really liked the mimosas. They did not just label the flavors. The drinks actually represented the flavors well. As far as ambience, it's really for the ladies and it was packed with girlfriends coming together. GET THE STEAK AND EGGS. We'll definitely come back.

Last weekend I came here for brunch with a group of 6. Seeing all the tables full and several names ahead of us on the list, we were prepared to wait but we had no idea that we would be waiting for 1.5 hours. Initially quoted 30 to 45 minutes, but it went so far beyond that. We realized it's a small place, but we were getting a little frustrated when they were seating parties who arrived after us because they had the right number of people to occupy the table(s). Sometimes it was parties of 4, then 2, and even 10. An easy solution would have been to move or separate tables to seat us within a reasonable time. So with that being said, I would recommend going super early (before 10 am) or late (after 1 pm) AND do NOT go in a party of 6! Now, the positive! The inside decor is so colorful and cute. Our server was super nice and efficient. We had drinks and order taken in no time! All the food dishes had lovely presentations and were tasty. There was also a virtual DJ playing some tunes up on the screen that created some nice ambiance. While the dining experience was pleasant, the 1.5 hour wait for a table was not. Therefore, I would not return unless I happened to walk by and saw empty tables. But walk by and maybe give it a try.

It is located in downtown Monrovia on Lemon St. Parking is on the street or behind the shops. The restaurant is very colorful and small. When you check in for your table, the minutes they quote you is real. I saw a table leave, got cleaned up, and it sat empty for the duration of my wait time (30 min). Im assuming it is allowing the kitchen to catch up on their orders. The food was delicious and the price is moderate for the quality. I enjoyed the food that was ordered and I will need to come back and try their other items.

The restaurant is located in old town Monrovia. There are various parking lots and street parking. Can get busy. I had to park a block away. Very cute cafe. I love all the decor and wall signs. I tried the special coffee flight (pistachio, horchata, marzapan and abuelita). All very tasty but I think my favorite was the marzapan. I also tried the birria omelette and so nice of them to let me replace the beans with salad for my dietary preference. My friend ordered the combo toast. The food was a little on the bland side but maybe next time I try their sweet dishes. Drinks were great tho. The lady who helped us was also a sweet. So nice and so helpful. Lots of indoor tables. Nice vibes.

First time here. Came with my coworkers. Service was amazing! The staff was sooo friendly and soo accommodating! They seated us first outside but the table was really wobbly. They agreed to move us inside. And they took really great care of us. The food was yummmmm! I loved the ambiance. Didn't take pics of the food cause we were starving lol. But coffee was great. This was my first time at Madres Brunch and was excited to try their food. Their following online and reviews on Yelp are what pulled me into try. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the popularity they receive online. The food is beautiful online but in person was a huge let down. Bland and defiantly not a "made fresh" taste. We decided to order simple and something specialty. Ordered the birria Benedict and lacked flavor. The simple two egg breakfast with a $3 addition pancake was not good at all. Something simple lacked so much flavor. Pancake is definitely box mix. Ambiance is beautiful and has character but we also waited quite a while before we were even served. ( mind you, we were seated/waited before other parties) Overall all, our waitress was so sweet and kind. The only thing I would recommend from Madres Brunch is the Dulce de leche coffee.

My daughter and I walked into Madres for a late Friday brunch. We were promptly seated, given menus and water. We split the Nutella French toast and the chilaquiles omelette, to enjoy both savory and sweet dishes. I had the house coffee and my daughter had the iced vanilla cold brew coffee, which she described as delectable. The Nutella French toast was quite thick slices of bread dipped in cinnamon egg batter, topped with a generous slathering of Nutella and grilled plantains. The chilango omelette was a generous portion of green chilaquiles, topped with sour cream and red onions. Our server was attentive and friendly. My coffee was nothing to brag about, it had bitter undertones. Overall it was a nice little breakfast place on the pricier side.

Cute new brunch location in Monrovia! The staff was so incredibly friendly and I love the interior decor. They have so many drinks you can choose from, from mimosas to horchata to coffee. I tried the pistachio latte half sweet and it was still too sweet for me, so next time, I may just need to stick to a regular non sugar beverage. My bestie got the iced matcha with oat milk and said it was creamy and flavorful. We shared the salsa verde chilaquiles and the churro french toast. Both were delicious. Will be back next time I'm in the area. They have so many locations, check them out!

This location us easy to get here with all the street or public lot parking. There's lots of seating but can get filled during the rush hour. There's loads of fun artwork. The staff were nice and helpful. It can be difficult to find staff when it's a rush but that's expected when it's busy. But they do the payment at the table so it's quick. Their menu also comes with a QR code for special menu options. I for the abulita latte and it's pretty good. It definitely tastes like abulita chocolate and it's not too sweet. I got the oat milk so there was an extra charge. The One sandwich is big! I ended eating half and saved the rest for later. It was definitely a good amount of food. And probably the largest slice of bread I've ever had. The birria and consomé was alright. I wish the consomé had more flavor or a small kick. The potatoes were pretty good, hot and crispy. I'd return here again. There's lots of food I wanna try on the menu.

3.5 stars. Nothing wrong per say but nothing blew me away either. The service was the highlight of my experience, as many others shared too. We arrived on a Friday around 11:30am and the place was packed! Luckily my friend and I grabbed an outside table. We ordered Michelada Flights, which were a little too sweet for me and one was incredibly salty (think beer, lime, salt). The Popeye Omelette was good but average. My friend had the Birria Omelette which looked & smelled fantastic. I love old town Monrovia and will give Madres another try.

I'd give this place 3.5 stars. I've been wanting to try out this place since I see it on social media a lot. Since one finally opened up near me, I decided to give this place a try! I got the special of the month, lomo saltado chilaquiles, a pistachio latter, and an order of the churro French toast to share. I was a quite disappointed in the lomo saltado chilaquiles. The idea was great but it was definitely not lomo saltado. First of all, it has bell peppers. I've had quite a few lomo saltado dishes and I don't think they have bell peppers in it. It was also missing that "wok hey" that lomo saltado usually has. The chips also were too soggy for me. I like a good crunch to my tortilla chips. I was also quite disappointed that they didn't have that green spicy sauce that most Peruvian spots have. This was quite a miss in my book unfortunately. The churro fresh toast tasted exactly how it sounds. The bread was fluffy, perfect cinnamon taste, and I really enjoyed the churros on the side. I would recommend trying out their sweet brunch dishes as it seems like that is what they're known for. Since they just opened, they're still trying to figure out the logistics of service. I had no complaints but it does seem like the kitchen took a little longer to make your food. The space is well decorated and it started getting really busy as the morning went on. I hope for the best for this location but I am unsure if I would return.

This was such a let down! Came here on a whim based on the Yelp reviews and, ended up leaving disappointed. Husband ordered an omelet. Oh my goodness what a sad excuse for a breakfast classic! The meats were not even cooked into the eggs nor was the cheese. It was like they plopped it on there as an after thought!! My eggs... had HUGE chunks of egg shells in them!!! Best thing about the visit was the coffees we had before the food. We both had the pistachio, I had iced he had blended. We ended up getting it mostly refunded and went elsewhere. The manager was very nice and did apologize- but the damage was done. One other note/ the 2 TV's sat on the same channel which was of a female DJ spinning and just bouncing back and forth to the beat- 45 mins of watching this was.... Painful!

What we ordered: chilaquiles with Birria & egg (egg is extra) was very tasty! Seafood omelette - was tasty, perfect size & loved as well. Strawberry pancakes: friend loved it. I gave it a (6/10) because I expected chucks of strawberries inside the pancakes and/or pure strawberry syrup. * Not the artificial strawberry crumble, red food dye or cheap Sugar syrups mixed with more dye on my pancakes (I prefer Whole/cleaner ingredients; real Maple syrup) tasted like a cupcake with cheap frosting, to me. And I really love sweets! read more

Came here with my best friends to enjoy some girl time. I've been to the Whittier location but this is closer to home. The food was amazing and the service from Natalie was excellent. Had the pozole & cafe de Olla it was so delicious . We been to the one in Whittier but followed Natalie over to Monrovia because she makes this place feel like home always nice fast and efficient. Though Whittier is closer we come out here for her . Though this place was smaller than the other madres brunch they were fast and efficient and didn't have to wait long . read more

This restaurant took over Lemon Cafe. When we walked in, we didnt realize restaurant changed. Since we already sat down, we decided to give them a try. The COFFEE were really good and the service. However, the food was average. Another thing is they dont have any chicken options, as my friend dont eat beef or pork. I order the American breakfast. which comes with egg, sausage link and hash brown. My scramble egg were on the greasy side, as well as the sausage links. My friend got some waffle, which were huge!. He liked his waffle. Probably wont be back since there is not any chicken option for my friend. read more

The staff at Madres Brunch is very friendly. We were greeted upon arrival and able to sit wherever was available. The service was fine. We were served our food but had to ask for cutlery and an extra plate which we had requested before ordering. We ordered the Madres chilaquiles. The red sauce was good. The chilaquiles come with "pork rinds" which were soggy and chewy. It also came with birria which was a bit bland. For drinks we had the horchata latte and the cafe de olla. The café de olla was perfect! The horchata latte was a powder mix. It was too sweet for my taste but my mom liked it. The food is overpriced for the effort and authenticity put into it. It seems as if they put more effort into the decor which is admittedly very cute. All in all it was an experience. I don't know where to start. The service was amazing shoutout to our server Natalie and the rest of the team for providing us with the most fun and delicious breakfast!! We love the ambiance in here it's super cute and the vibes are just perfect. I ordered the chile verde chilaquiles and added birria, it was SO GOOD! A group of us tried Madres in Monrovia after seeing all the great reviews, and it was honestly really disappointing. As soon as we sat down, we were told the kitchen was behind and it would be at least 45 minutes before our order could even be made. When the food finally came out, it was completely cold, which made the wait even more frustrating - how are they behind and manage to give us cold food? The food itself didn't help - watery, bland beans, the cold panels cheese was terrible, pancakes were way too sugary, and overly sweet horchata. For the price, the quality just wasn't there. Overall, it felt overpriced, underseasoned, and poorly managed. Monrovia could really use a solid brunch spot, but this wasn't it. Wouldn't recommend. read more

It was our first time and when we got there. There was no one to Check you in. I went inside and the person checking in told us to go outside to get checked in, she had a bit of an attitude. We waited an hour and a half. The food was okay, my son ordered the cafe de olla and it was not good at all! It didn't even taste like coffee. I thought this place was good since I saw the reviews but honestly I had better service and food other places nearby. I give it 1 star because one waitress was nice. They have no structure checking in, no customer service skills and food and drinks need flavor, specially the cafe de Olla. I won't go back! read more

I ordered the basic breakfast with a side of pancakes and I was most impressed by the pancakes which were cooked in butter so they had the yummy crispy edges. I also had a vanilla latte that was delicious and they offered oatmilk which was a plus. The service was great, there was one person in the restaurant when they opened and she was really friendly. The restaurant is cute and small but they can accommodate large parties along their wall seating. I'll visit again to try their chilaquiles and definitely a pancake or two every visit! read more

The food was presented nicely but wasn't good at all. Nothing had flavor, my Birria Omelette was filled with just fatty meat and all our food came out cold. The coffee was very good, but that's about it. Either the food didn't have flavor at all or too much salt. Also, the hostess gave herself a $20 dollar tip. We where looking forward to try this place and I was so disappointed in the food and services where to start we ordered cafe de olla and it was cold and it had flavor of sugar and the mole chilaquiles where dry and cold and the chicken pieces where also cold and the huevo divorciados where not good at all the money we paid for it it was a waste of money my friends want to go this weekend coming I will let them know not to bother even going . The money music to loud . The Waiter wasn't that attended I had to keep calling her for things and only got one napkin read more

This one is an easy 5 star for me. I randomly stumbled upon this place while walking to a coffee shop near by. The staff was SO kind. They are so sweet and actually care about the experience you receive here. I ditched my coffee plans and sat down for lunch instead. The chilequilles were delicious and the portions were good. Presentation is 10/10 for this spot but the food and drinks actually taste amazing. They don't sacrifice flavor for aesthetic like similar business I've dinned at. Ask for their habanero salsa, it kicks!! Can't wait to come back and try their coffee flight. Looks delicious. Thank you Andrea for amazing food and service! read more

Staff are nice and friendly. Ordered the Chilango omelette and The madres chilaquiles. Portions are large but should focus on the flavors more!!. The chilaquiles were super dry. Asked for salsa on the side but even the salsa is pretty watered down. Got the hazelnut cold brew and abuelita latte and that was pretty good. Overall not worth the money spent for $60 for breakfast for 2 people. read more

I saw an ad for this place on Instagram, decided to stop by. The waitress was really sweet, and by herself (she was the manager). The ambiance was nice, but it was a little chilly inside the restaurant. I ordered the huevos divorciados... the beans were ice cold. I don't know if it was because the plate itself was cold (normally plates come out super hot) but it put me off my meal a bit. My father ordered the omelette with chilaquilles inside, and the same for him... the beans were ice cold. The food was okay, but cold beans for breakfast just isn't really great. read more

The service is amazing! We were helped by Natalie. The food is delicious we got the chilaquilles Verdes & Madre with birria on top. Super delicious and a big plate so come hungry. The chilaquiles were served lukewarm,borderline cold, and was dry. The steak on top of the chilaquiles were decent, but not worth the price. Overall, they were just okay; not terrible, but nothing I'd order again. On a brighter note, the iced horchata latte was delicious and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. read more

I came in and the hostess told us the wait would be about ten minutes. After waiting twenty five minutes, my boyfriend went to check in to make sure we hadn't been forgotten and was told there was just one party ahead of us. We decided to keep waiting. Another ten minutes went by and they called two or three more parties before us. I went back inside to ask how much longer, and again I was told there was "one more party ahead of you." I also noticed the hostess crossing out names that were listed after us. From the outside and the inside of the restaurant the scenery was great atmosphere the service was great the menu didn't really have a broad selection.The food could use a little Improving like temperature,cook and not too much on portion size it was decent. They told us it was a 30 minute wait and then after waiting, when we sat down they said it would be another 45 minutes to get our food. Then our food came and no one out of our group of 4 liked our food. The strawberry pancakes were too sweet. And our food was cold. Never coming back. read more

Hello me and my son went there Saturday morning for breakfast bacon and eggs pancakes The problem is they give it a little butter packets the butter frozen You're trying to put them on your pancakes they're like big chunks they never melted and the pancake syrup should be warm not room temperature They need to give give you a room temperature butter and a paper cup or something just also not enough butter I told the waitress about her she was like 18 19 years old I don't even know if she cares I'm surprised nobody else made the complaint pancakes were good they were thin tasty but would be nice to have a lot of butter and some warm syrup read more

This is my first time here but my wife has been to this restaurant's other location so I decided to give it a try even though my wife told me that the food is a bit different but I love to try new things so we came. Place is clean, servers are polite and friendly, music is relaxing and it was not busy when we got here so that was nice. I ordered Huevos Ranchero which I always order in breakfast restaurants and my wife ordered the madres chilaquiles. The food was good but definitely different. It seemed like they have created an American Mexican fusion that was not really to my liking but the food quality was good and well prepared. There was ham, baked potato with bacon bits and fried cheese in my Huevos Ranchero which was very strange to me because this was the first time ever I have seen those combinations in a Huevos Ranchero and I have tried over 100 Huevos Ranchero in 100 different restaurants and this was totally different but as I mentioned the food was prepared nicely and visually appealing and somewhat delicious without the chews and baked potato and ham. Salsa was a bit spicy to my taste but overall I enjoyed it since my wife was with me. On the plus side, the servers were great and the Cafe de Olla and pistachio latte were perfect. But it all stops there. After a super long wait for our food (the restaurant wasn't fully packed yet, mind you) we finally got our mediocre food. Oh sure, my Wilma pancakes were totally Instagramable, but were they edible? Just barely. The pancakes were gummy and rubbery and difficult to cut, even with a knife and fork! The fruity pebbles were stale, totally lacking crunch or flavor. I guess they tried to cover that up with the overly sweet condensed milk topping? It was a huge disappointment. And at $20 for the plate, a huge rip off. My daughter had the chilaquiles rojo and said it was pretty solid, not as good as the chilaquiles we usually get in our neck of the woods, but decent.
