Macy's at Del Amo is my go-to Macy's and I generally enjoy shopping there. For the most part the employees are nice and helpful. (If they are occasionally cranking they get a pass because the management has understaffed the floor which is unfair to the sales staff). It is unacceptable however, for the restrooms to ALWAYS be neglected. After all, this is a department store in a nice area of town not a roadside port-a-potty. I received the best service ever from Maria, in the customer service area, in Macy's women's downstairs. She was so pleasant & considerate. I returned a pair of pants that I purchased on line. They were too big. Maria looked on-line to see if they had a pair in my size in the store. She even walked me to the section to find them & pointed out the fitting room. I have never had a salesperson go out of their way to help me like Maria did. With this kind of service, I will definitely continue to shop at Macy's. read more

I went there today to buy a gift worth $140 First customer service /( petite asian lady ) was great then came other person as a cashier. After few unsuccessful attempts to locate my account ( right Ss and phone number entered ) she made a wise comment as you did it all wrong with your Ss# and passed the order to other person to start all over again I decided not to buy anything. It's a sign of the times when I appreciate brick-and-mortar department stores where I can actually see the actual clothes, touch the fabric, try it on for size, feel the weight and compare the size of a serving bowl, etc. Sometimes it is way more convenient in person than online. I like Macy's for standard items like business casual slacks, blouses for Zoom meetings, wide range of handbags and backpacks, that little black dress, special occasion formal dress, mens polos or underwear or dress shirts, travel items like luggage (despite fluctuating pandemic), quality standard socks, pots and pans, linens and towels, gifts for friends and family, a good return policy, and decent prices with regular sales. Other chains have gone too trendy, too discount, or too high-end pricey, but Macy's keeps a good variety of things that we all need every now and then. Service has been varied but overall, good experiences outweigh the bad. On July 5 around 7:30 pm, I was helped by a kind associate on the 3rd floor in Dresses (I think her name was something like Cherish), who gave me great pointers to the right areas on the floor to look. Thanks to her guidance and sympathy I was able to choose and purchase what I was looking for. She is a gem. (Unlike a different associate in the first floor Petites section who claimed there are no Petite dresses on the 3rd floor and was not interested at all in helping me find anything, minus one star for that one.) read more

Without any communication I see that My order is delayed for a week! since I won't be there to collect it I ask for a refund and to cancel the order, to what I'm told I cannot do that until the order is received and sent back to them... Irene (I didnt get her last name but she was in mens Levi's section. She'sa small famed asian lady with a short bob.) is an AMAZING ASSOCIATE. She greeted us with a huge smile, you could even see behind her mask. She went above and beyond to help the Mister n I with our transactions. We had an exchange which they didn't have the size we were looking for so she did a return. She then helped us with another transaction and also let us know that it was a buy 1, get 1/2 of another and that would be the best transaction, so we went with that. She waited for us to find the sizes we needed (even when she had a little line behind us.) She was patient and very kind. read more

In a word, blah. The problem with Macy's is that it combines the prices of a high-end clothing store with the service level of a discount store. I can often find a skirt or dress similar to the ones here for half the price somewhere else. Meanwhile, the salesgirls here typically are more interested in re-creating high school clique hour than in providing customer service. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I like Macy's in general, it's that middle layer... above Sears, Kohl's, Target, Wal-Mart, JC Penny's, Ross, Marshall's, and TJ Max... below Bloomingdales, Sax 5th Avenue, Bloomingdales, and high end specialty boutique retailers. It's middle class department store shopping where you can find lots of sales, a selection of many brands, and one-stop shopping for the entire family. They carry some higher end designer fashion as well as affordable attire, so fits many budgets as well as fashion aesthetics for trendy style too. read more

Sometimes the fitting rooms haven't been cleaned out for a while, I think due to lack of floor staff. On the Third floor, I noticed there is only one staff member to cover all of the women's dept and lingerie.. That's crazy! Yesterday I went in to the Men's Department at May's Del Amo Fashion Center and I have been shopping there for a long time. It has always been the one store I can find what I am looking for. However, lately it has become disappointing. I do not see men's clothing in the store as displayed on Macy's web site. In addition, I was waiting in line to check out and the one sales associate went and closed her register while I was waiting in line for some time. I don't fault her for needing a break or perhaps using a restroom; however, I was not happy when she closed and offered no appology or even a reason. I really don't expect much anywhere anymore because the world has changed. However, this one individual apparently knows nothing about common sense. Perhaps, she was never taught what being polite is, or just has no people skills at all. Stores get upset when they do not have customers coming in. But with service like I experienced yesterday, they have no one to thank but themselves. read more

Del Amo is HUGE and if you don't know where to park, you will be in a very bad mood!!! If you want to go to junior or mens, enter off Carson (and Hawthorne) and park in the garage to the left of Bj's- do not go toward that crazy outdoor promenade If you want to go to Home, enter off Carson (and Hawthorne) near Bank of America and Crate and Barrel and go UP into the parking structure. FYI - if you go LEFT in that parking structure it will connect to the women's/shoe/makeup dept. of the regular Macy's! Took years for me to figure that out! BASICALLY, once you know where to park - this mall will become the best mall ever. I love how spacious it is - there is room to wander an browse without running into too many teens, eager fragrance sales people and strollers. They also have good clearance items that Galleria will never have - check out their watches and expensive bedding when you get he chance! Also, their dressing rooms are pretty clean. I went to Manhattan Beach Macy's and there were about 10 pieces of clothing in each of the women's dressing rooms - what is that!!! read more

Two. Stars for the good sales, but it would've been no stars based on customer service. Mid week, mid morning, one register open for the entire first floor of the home store. That includes bedding, kitchen, luggage, and I don't another section. Probably 20 customers in the store. One girl working. Very poor management and no management on site to complain to. This is why I mostly buy online. I've been coming to this store for 20 years and it's always the same. I always hope for a better experience. Bought a certified diamond anniversary/birthday ring with my dad for my mom, and they resized it through Macy's where we purchased. After we finally got it back a month later, we noticed they had messed up the entire band and the stone looked like a different color. When asked about replacing this unappealing thing we had waited so long for or having them fix it, Macy's jewelry claimed they had no liability in anything that happens through their partner company. For such an important and huge investment, and to be potentially scammed for fake jewelry and have the sizing work be so shoddy, there should be some liability or guarantee. But instead they wanted us to fork over a couple more thousand dollars to "exchange" for a new one. After several hours, we finally were approved to get a replacement of the ring damaged by the resizing company, but hours went by. I just don't understand how companies like this survive given that they burn every bridge with customers. What does the Macy's brand even stand for anymore? It's becoming more and more low quality over the years and they are barely scraping by. I would rather buy from places that have some integrity. read more

Came to this one tonight i was surprised how organized it was i guess cause the men's dept expanded i kinda got lost looking around thinking did i browse this area or not lol. Only downside is the shoe dept always when i go there is only one person working and when that happens everyone decides to shop for shoes it never fails and it never fails the shoes i want they never have my size i went to both this one and the other one and both didnt have my size. I had them check other stores and none had it in stock only out state stores had a few i wanted to try them on first to see how they felt oh well i'll have to keep shopping elsewhere. read more

Such a nice clean store but, not one sales person in sight. My daughter and I circled the whole first floor there wasn't a single employee behind a POS counter. This is a review for the fine jewelry Department. I'm a graduate gemologist, and actually worked at this place, super shocked at the poor quality of the jewelry. Rubies are silicone fracture filled, and in many cases NOT genuine rubies at all. Diamonds are grossly misrepresented. You will receive a SI3 but pay a VVS price tag. Run away from that! Not to mention they refuse to tell you where they originated. Sketchy! And even more shocked at how they treat customers and each other. They fight amongst themselves in order to get the sale, Management encourages lying to customers so that they will open a credit account. Their Security guards are the biggest joke, they like to feel important so they call themselves Asset Protection, they are nothing more than a minimum wage security guard, with 0 authority in remedying an issue. read more

This review is specifically for my shopping experience in the home goods section for a wedding gift. Customer service was amazing and very patient with my shopping indecisiveness. I came up to the home goods section with the intent of buying my friend (soon to be bride) a wedding gift. There was a kiosk to look up the wedding registry but it wasn't working. So, I went to talk to one of the associates (her name was Evelyn) and she was super nice and printed out the registry for me. She kindly walked me through the registry and told me where items could be found. When I finally decided on the item, she looked the item up online and gave me the item at the online price which was much cheaper than the in-store price! Me, being the indecisive person I am, asked if she could watch my wedding item at the counter while I looked around a bit more....30 minutes later I decided to buy that one item. Her patience was appreciated and checking out was also a pleasant experience. She remembered that I was traveling ways for this wedding, so she gave me a Macy's wedding gift bag with extra tissue paper on the side so that I could wrap it when I get to my destination. I made my purchase and apparently when you buy an item off of a wedding registry, Macy's gives you a coupon for 20 dollars off a purchase of 50 dollars, which is pretty cool. Customer service does not seem to be this Macys strong point now. Sales people were brusque and rude. I was sent from one sales person to another trying to find an item. Nobody was particularly friendly or helpful. The only good service I got was in the jewelry department. They went out of their way to find what I was looking for. A big selection and some good sale prices. Wish the other departments and sales people were like that too. The restrooms were not at all clean. They were out of toilet paper in some stalls and had very little in others. read more

Unfortunately the Origins stand alone store closed at the Del Amo mall. Knowing Macy's carries this line I went to purchase a cleanser. The older, white lady that was working (1/12/19) has to be the worst "sales" lady I have ever encountered. 1. I received no acknowledgment. I thought, no big deal. 2. I grabbed the item and went to pay. Again, no acknowledgment nor conversation. The woman just grabbed the item. At that point I said "I'm not going take this". She shrugged like it wasn't a big deal. Perhaps, one measly cleanser wasn't worth it to her. However, considering what a ghost town it was I figured she'd like the sale. ORIGINS- If these are the type of people you choose to represent your brand no wonder locations are being closed. OVERALL: I would NEVER recommend the Origins counter located inside Macy's at this location. read more

FURNITURE DEPARTMENT REVIEW: My wife and I went to the upstairs furniture department and we were quickly greeted by Suwanee. The floor is expansive, and there are plenty of style and color options for any room. Suwanee was polite, knowledgeable, and had great details about the furniture. We came with some preconceived notions around what we wanted for our living room, Suwanee helped clarify what we were considering and cemented our opinions. We walked out completely satisfied with our purchases. Having purchased Macy's furniture before I can attest to the quality and durability. I'd suggest you consider the extended warranty package, best part, they will refund the cost of the policy when it ends, for a future furniture credit, assuming you never made any claims against it. I request a U.S representative. They tell me they can't, I insist I want a US rep. After a wait, I get a person who says they can help me, I ask three (3) times where am I calling before he tells me, the Philippines. These unproductive calls took me 30 minutes, attempting to call back again. Then, I call a local store. Lakewood at least attempted to look up the Kenneth Cole shoe . I've bought several pieces of jewelry from here. At the start of grad school, I bought myself a Gucci watch, and I'm happy with it. I also bought my then-girlfriend a gold/diamond ring for Valentine's Day. The ring was beautiful, with her birthstone flanked by diamonds or a solid gold band. I bought insurance for both items, and they delivered quick service when I went in to have my watch adjusted. She had to have the ring re-sized, and there was no hassle in this either. The sales woman was very professional. She helped me pick out these two great items, and also helped me open up a line of credit. I haven't come here to buy clothing yet as I have an extensive wardrobe of both casual and professional clothing. However, as those pieces of clothing age, I will come here to check out what they offer. I like the environment here, so I am sure they will take care of me. read more

Well, while my wife and I were happy with our experience in the store. It was after we got home that the problem arose. We had bought a 6 qt Martha Stewart cast iron pot that we were so happy to use it. The next day when we opened the box, we found out that not only was a returned item, but it was covered in a layer of grease, part of the inner enamel was chipped off, there were bits of food inside the pot, and on one side of the pot was a crusted on layer of food. Gross!! Does this store not check items before they put them back on the floor? I mean, all you would have to do was open the box to see something was up! I've never had an experience like this at any department store let alone Macy's. We'll definitely not be coming back to this location. read more

So I saw an amazing outfit on my friend who had been to this location roughly 2 hours before me, and he had gotten a friends and family extra 30% off on the clothes. I drove all the way down on my Father's Day to pick it up, and try to purchase the outfit. Found it in my size and was ready to purchase it... until I noticed that they did not give me the 30% off for friends and family discount. I called my friend who had just bought the outfit and had him send me a copy of his receipt that clearly shows he got the discount on the exact same items less than 2 hours before me. The sale woman doubled down on her position and refused to give me a discount that CLEARLY was there. I called over a manager and she backed up her sales woman and told me that I was wrong and there was no discount. I showed her the receipt and she told me to go screw myself she was not going to give me the discount that my friend had gotten less than two hours before me. Macy's you clearly have hired racist representatives and they discriminated against me. I have been in customer service for 10+ years, this is not how you treat your customers or have your sales women treat the people who would buy from you. Worst company every, trying to preach unity and your own people discriminate who gets a discount or not. read more
