I've never experienced being treated so rudely before from a department store. Last night my girlfriend and I were at this Macy's in the TO mall to look for a dress for her for my upcoming company holiday party. She had 2 dresses picked out and it was 6:45 PM and she was looking for maybe 1 more dress to choose from. She walked past a female worker who proceeded to say "Are you aware that we close at 7 PM?" My girlfriend said yes I am going to just try on these two dresses and be on my way. The worker then said "Our dressing rooms are closed and we've been announcing our closing for the last 30 minutes so you cannot try those on!" "Plus we are closing the gates and doors at 7" the woman said. My girlfriend said aren't you open for another 15 minutes why can I not try on the dress real quick? "We are closing up and that's the way it is" the women said. My girlfriend handed her back the dresses and we left. How can you tell someone who is looking to buy something that they cannot try something on 15 minutes before even starting to close? Even if we are in the store at 7 PM we can proceed to make final purchases so why stop someone from trying on a dress? Ridiculous. We will give our business to another store and won't be coming back here. read more

Stopped here on my way home to purchase some make up and the girls behind the counters seemed more interested in chatting.among themselves than acknowledging the shopping customers. One girl spent the time I was nearby applying the new purple lip gloss that she'd just unpacked. They were out of an eye shadow palette I wanted, and though the girl that checked me out was very sweet, when she asked me if I'd found everything okay, I wanted to ask... Seriously? I am giving the extra third star for the other department upstairs that gave great customer service. read more

Order a bedroom set from macys. Turns out they sold me a set no longer being made, had me wait 3 months, didn't tell me they didn't have the bedroom set, deliver something completely different from what I ordered, when I tell delivery it's incorrect they force me to sign saying if i don't they will show it as delivered anyways. Come back to the store to tell them what happened and the floor associate won't help me because someone else already got Commision and it's not their problem. I message the sales associate to find out I have to call customer service because he can't do anything for me. Call customer Service and wait 2 weeks for a real action plan to come together and now if I want to return it all they are going to make me look at for the return. Decided to just keep the set, got very little back from macys for the error but accept it all for what it is. But the next issue stands... Missing a night stand so even if I want to keep it I have to go back and buy the missing night stand. Here at the store, after speaking with customer service, only to find out that I can't even buy it from the store. And will have to pay delivery all over again. I mean seriously. A truly horrible experience every time I shop at the Men's Store in The Oaks. Last time in was a year ago and I swore never again. Two weeks ago I ordered on line and had to return an item that would not fit in the microwave. I was told I had the wrong receipt, even though it was the receipt inside the box that was shipped to me. After showing an email to prove o purchased the item I was told the credit would go back on my Macy's card...and I don't have a Macy's card. So, going forward, they have lost even my on line business. Give them a couple of years and they will be gone like so many others. read more

This Macy's always leaves me feeling disappointed in the customer service we receive. When ever it comes to shopping for Premium Bags for her or Watches for me it seems as if the sales people are not very eager to assist... I'm a calculated shopper and when I enter a store I am ready to buy. I don't appreciate pushy sales people, but can live with them as long as they are polite and knowledgeable. On the other hand, I simply can not stand sales people who hate their jobs and refuse to provide the basic essential skills to actually make a sale. People who punch a timecard then avoid as many customers as possible. Or even worse fight with other employees in the same department in regards to who is "Not" going to help a customer. What happen to the days where sales people would fight each other for the opportunity to help the next customer and hopefully close a sale, Earn a commission, and Wow a customer into spending their hard earned cash??? I just can't believe these people lost out on a guaranteed opportunity to make a sale simply because they didn't even try. I guess Michael Kors earns my business directly once again!!! Only a few hundred feet more and the sales staff in the Michael Kors Store will treat me like a king to earn my money!!! Macy's - Easy Entrance at the End of Oaks Mall... - Department Stores Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I have extreme anxiety anytime I go to the mall to begin with. So for me it was a big thing already. (As silly as this may sound to some) I went into the women's shoes department and looked around for a while saw the shoes i was looking for. There was no employee around at that moment so i continued to just browse. When making my way back to the shoes i noticed i would be able to check out seeing 2 attendants near the register. The first to help me was a younger woman who was extremely helpful! Then I'm paying for the shoes and the Male cashier says to me "you are aware these are women's shoes right" I was confused by the statement. And responded with "I guess I was cursed with big feet". He says "those are pretty big feet for a woman" Now mind you I have an extremely small chest and I wasn't wearing a bra that day. My insecurities were already on the forefront. I walked to my car and cried all the way home. A true horror story. Wifey purchased online - returned the item upon receipt the same day, and they wouldn't refund her properly b/c "system has a problem wouldn't allow return to original form of payment." Just incredible. Staff was alternately clueless/rude/ignorant and had to call "customer service." I stood and watched while the issue was not resolved - instead, they processed the return on another totally unrelated credit card. Legally, they should have returned cash if unable to process original form of payment. We now know - avoid Macy's in general, and this branch in particular. read more

Macys furniture salesman in the Oaks Mall (in TO.), Marciano, provided us with the best customer service possible. We had multiple parameters for purchasing our furniture and he was extremely patient, listened to everything we wanted, and then provided us with the best options possible. Great service should not go unshared. I recently returned a gift I received from my Covid distant Christmas. I didn't have the receipt of course and a couple ladies at the store had trouble locating the purchase for an appropriate credit. But Yvonne in the At Your Service department was absolutely amazing!! I was so impressed with the way she utilized all her knowledge for locating past purchases. It took her all of 5 minutes to find my gift givers information, had me verify it and then gave me the credit I was worthy of. I can't believe I've never reviewed Macy's! I love Macy's. I worked at this location in high school (way back, 100 years ago) The lovely Sue B. in lingerie helped me find what I was looking for and rang me up. She's very kind, professional and quite funny. I appreciate her knowledge of her department and the entire store because I feel like I get lost in there from time to time! After having a baby, I sadly had to invest in Spanx to look decent in a dress for an event. I returned a few days later to the lingerie department to buy more shape wear, mostly Spanx, various undergarments and leggings too because I felt slightly less self conscious about my postpartum body while rocking Spanx! I'm always going to enjoy shopping here because I've always received excellent customer service. read more

I don't normally like to leave a one star review but tonight's visit I feel warranted it. I had purchased 4 travel pillows online and decided that we did not like them. So I came to return them at 8:40 PM the store closes at 9:00 PM. I walk to the return desk and there is nobody there. I find an employee and they say "oh she just went to the bathroom " she'll be right back. At 8:50 she slowly walks up looking at her watch, sighs, doesn't even make eye contact, doesn't say hi and Doesn't apologize for having me wait 10 minutes for her. She Proceeds to check the pillows, when you can CLEARLY see that only one has been open. As she scans them the machine spits out a ticket. She takes a piece of tape and very forcefully slaps it on the package and does that 3 more times. Then finally says is that back in your Macy's card. I say yes and she just says sign here. No thank you or have a good evening. I am beginning to understand why a lot of the big box stores are closing and people are shopping online now. Although this Macy's is close to me I will most likely not return here. read more

This Macy's is great! Compared to other in the area, I personally think they have the best selection of clothes. Nothing ever seems low quality or trashy as opposed to a lot of other Macy's. Maybe it's the area itself that really make them step their game up when it comes to watch they're stocking their stores with. I will say, they do have some of the most aggressive sales associates around the cosmetics / fragrance section. I know, I know. OF COURSE they all are right? Macy's Thousand Oaks: Well we were so excited to finally be able to afford some new couches. We walk in a woman approaches us and we start discussing the fact that we already know what brand we want but we just wanted to see the colors available. She leaves us for a second while we confirm colors which is fine but then when we tell her the colors she says "well that is going to make more work for me" because we want the 3 pieces of furniture the same brand but in 3 different colors. Right there we felt weird. And I'm in the middle of asking her about the price difference Between ottomans and then she hands us a piece of paper and says just right it down she has to go. So I'm thinking where is she going now?? Well she went to help another customer in the very high end more expensive couch area. Well she sure helped him all the way till the end of the purchase! Then we just felt all the fun and good vibes of getting a new couch after 16 years is now turned into a negative. We put our colors away and grabbed the kids and headed for the car. I ordered a mattress back in June. I was given a delivery date of July 10th. After many reminders from Macys, I took the day off work. The day before, I received a reminder phone call. 40 minutes later, they called to say the delivery date changed to July 25th with no explanation. I wrote to Customer Service and received a response saying the delivery date is now July 25th. Today, I went into Macy's website and I don't even see my order number anymore! WFH! They have a notice on their website that says they can't answer emails. The "customer service"(joke) line says there is very busy volume and go to their website. I have shopped at Macy's for years and have never seen such horrible customer service from a retailer. If you wonder why your sales are so bad, you may want to consider the customer experience you are providing. I will not be shopping here anymore. Please don't buy anything from the furniture department. You will wait and not get what you order. On top of it, there will be no communication from them and you'll be told they won't respond to any of your inquiries. read more

When it came time to use our Worry NO More Protection Plan (We purchased The Premium Package), we found that it was a no worry plan because you got absolutely no service. They just denied coverage. We have filed a claim for the Premium Furniture Protection Plan When we purchase the furniture this plan was sold to us as the most comprehensive plan of it's kind. That it was an easy fix if ANYTHING went wrong during the protection period. In attempting to file a claim it has been frustrating and seem to negate everything said to us during the sales process. We purchased a bed, dresser, and two nightstands. The claim process did not give us an email address and requires us to use an App which we find much to burdensome. We had to hire and pay for our own furniture repair service to make the repairs. THE Worry NO More Protection Plan is a waste of money and may well be a sham. DON'T BUY IT! read more

this is for the furniture department in which I purchased TWO leather sofas thru JOEL last year. took approx 5 months to deliver. I was going to cancel the order because I wanted sofas before Christmas. I allowed the order because I was promised by JOEL a price adjustment to the lowest price of the season he assured me he made the adjustment (we spoke over the phone) when I eventually got my sofas THERE Was no adjustments. and I verified this with the billing department. I called and left a message and got a call back from the Manager of the department LEE who said "yes you were given a discount of $10. furniture is only 10% off" GO BACK TO MATH CLASS LEE at 10% thats $260 at full price and I was suppose to receive THE LOWEST seasonal price on these items as PROMISED. I am so disgusted by the Shady Salesman and the useless manager. I do not recommend Macys FURNITURE I will be filing a formal complaint asap read more

I give it a 3 stars because I usually like to shop here, but the experience I had at the jewelry counter on Saturday was less than acceptable. To looked online and found what I wanted, it was a 24 hr sale as well. The lady who helped me was being watched by supervisors, I showed her what I was looking for and online the price was $65.99, she rolled her eyes as if I was bothering her, then she she asked for me to pull it up on my phone, which I did.... I had my phone in my hand and she grabbedwithout asking for permission! Who does that's??? Then she found one necklace lie the one I showed her, she brought it to me and the stone was beyond dirty, it's was a used necklace. She then walks around the other jewelry counters, no communication at all, I'm standing there like an idiot, so I patiently wait. There are 2 other employees looking at me and one of them goes to her, she returns to my area and tells me to follow her, and I did. She takes me to a different counter and she starts showing me necklaces priced at $600 and up, I clearly stated "As you noticed, when you grabbed my phone, I was interested at this other necklace priced under $100 after sale, not sure why you're showing me this", at this point I get the feeling that she doesn't want to help me, so I walk to another counter. She then returns to me and says she can order the original one so it's brand new, my reply was "no thanks, honestly I can do that and have it delivered to my house. Reason I came here was so I could see the piece quality first. " What happened to customer service? What happened to treating clients with a little dignity and respect? What has happened to Macy's?!?! I went in to purchase some replacement fry pans and I walked into the cookware section and did some browsing. I narrowed my choices down to 2 different brands and I decided to look for an associate to help me with my decision. I looked all over the cookware, wedding registry, and bedding sections and I couldn't find anyone working. I looked online with my phone and made my choice from the information I was able to find online. Now it was time to pay. I walked all over the first floor and could not find anyone to help me. I did find an associate, but she was helping a customer. I waited patiently for her to finish and I asked if she could help me. I told her I couldn't find anyone to help me, and asked her if she was the only one on the floor. She told me the girl in her section just went to lunch, but there were two other's working the floor. I guess they were hiding because they were nowhere to be found. I decided to ask her if the brand of pans I picked out were good, and she told me that everyone loved the person who sponsored the product.....(not what I was looking for)! I guess Macy's has decided to cut back staff to the point you can't buy the merchandise you went in there originally to purchase. Not a bad deal, especially if you visit during their '1 day sales event'. I visited on 6/20/15 to purchase work shirts and slacks. I found the store to be clean and well organized. The staff was helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Their prices were reduced, and in addition to a coupon,I saved about $150. Pretty nice deal. TIPS: -Check your local newspaper for sales before going shopping. It may be well worth it to wait. -Save an additional 10% when you put the balance on your Macy's credit car account -Store closes at 9 p.m. daily (except Sunday). read more

So I went into the Macy's men's home part of the store.Had plans to purchase an area rug Persian. So I go into the store today 10/9/19 to purchase. First off my son and neice and I had to try to find someone.My son found a lady from downstairs. She said there was a gentleman with a customer.My neice said he was the same guy the day before and told her I'm in bed I dont do carpets. Ok! So he finally comes and he said you have to wait he had 2 customers ahead of you and the guy in carpets wouldn't be there til 1 So picture this its 1130 in the morning.I am there to purchase this rug.I asked the guy could I speak to the manager he said he's not here .I said there is nobody in the store that can ring me up .No just me! I needed a high top shoes to support my ankle as directed by my doctor. So, I go to this Macy's for the first time and I realized I had to walk all the way to the east side location in the same mall. AND MY ANKLE WAS HURTING ALL THE WAY. I don't know why they have 2 different Macy's department stores in the same mall and I don't care how it got there like that, but I did not like it. The worst part was the sales lady at the cash register tried to over charge me. There weren't lots of high top shoes to choose from in the first place and I picked 2 types for sizing. The guy from the athletic department was excellent-he helped me to get my shoes even when my shoes were not athletic type-I pick the waterproof nonslip rugged outdoor type. It was the toughest available. It also had that bright red sign "$74.99" on it. I took the box to the cash register for purchase and the lady - about 75-ish old looking, kinda eyeballed me up and down a little - like she was sizing me up. What the hell? I needed these shoes badly, so I ignored the insolence and proceeded with the check out. She rang me up for $149.99. I told her that those shoes were on sale for $74,99 and brought the shoe with the sale sign on it. She looked at the shoe and said, "oh, someone put the wrong sign on the wrong shoes, the original price is $149.99". Then threw the sign over her shoulder at the wall behind her making a loud noise "TTTHHHAAAKKK", followed by the shoe itself which bounced off the wall and tumbled on the floor. She then charged me only $74.99. I was so pissed, but I was on my lunch break and had to return to work with my high tops on. It was the day after Christmas at around 3:30PM and I didn't want any drama the day after my really good Christmas day. So, I put my high top shoes on right there and walked all the way back to my car and drove away vowing myself that I will never buy anything from here again. Of all the Macy's I've been to in Southern California, I actually like this one best. I'm not saying it IS the best store out there, but I happen to like it best for what I want and for what they offer. I find they have the largest selection/diversity of clothing at this location, far more than the Simi Town Centre location, which is closest to my home. Even the cosmetics and jewelry counters have more to choose from and have more items that I like. Actually, though, I do like the Macy's @ Topanga Plaza for jewelry better than this one, but this is still pretty good. The other Macy's just seem to pale in comparison. I still miss my Robinson's...... nothing can compare to that store, but Macy's will certainly do. read more

I visited this Macy's excited for the "All-Day" sale, coupons ready, excited for ten dollars off my 25 dollar purchase. Firstly, it only lasted until 1pm - I was fooled by the confusing fine print. Fine, I get it, that's probably more my fault. I bought shoes from the shoe department here, and the service was great, but the area was absolutely disgusting. There was chocolate and filth all over the floor. I felt disgusting with my feet near those things. There were several workers not doing anything that could have at least tried to clean up a little. After, I went to the girls clothing section and there was not one person manning the fitting room. This caused for disorganisation and confusion. All my stuff was in one of the fitting rooms, while I went to show my mother a shirt I was trying on. A random woman walked in and was about to close the door when I came back and I told her that my stuff was in there. She seemed angry. I'm not a confrontational person, so someone manning the fitting room and giving out numbers would be nice. Also, the fitting rooms were dirty. It was as if they hadn't been cleaned in days. In one of the fitting rooms, the lock wasn't working. I go to this mall all the time, and every single store I've ever shopped at has a better fitting room situation than this Macy's. I'd never recommend for anyone to go shop here, and I probably will never be coming back to this Macy's. read more
