This place has really gone down the tubes. And it's not the merchandise that's to blame. It's the slack, uninterested service. And it's how everything is displayed to look sloppy, gross, and unappealing. I don't know what happened to this store, but they now seem to go out of their way to cater to an uncouth crowd that's not used to decent stores. The norm here is to overload clothing onto racks. Not much attempt at aesthetics, organization by size, or anything else. It's not that they don't have good values (if you work hard enough to find them), but it's really gonna take some effort because EVERYTHING is SO disorganized. Good department stores are easy to navigate, well staffed and friendly. But sadly, Macy's in Fashion Square doesn't seem to care about these things. And it's doubtful that anyone used to better will want to patronize this pigsty. read more

***DO NOT PURCHASE SHOES FROM FINISH LINE AT ANY MACY'S. YOU ARE GIVING AWAY YOUR MONEY AND PURCHASING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS*** I tried to return a pair of defective Asics running shoes and both Finish Line and Macy's would not accept my return. I purchased these shoes back in October 2022 (3 months ago) and after 3 months the mesh at the toe line of one shoe gave out and created a small hole. "Running shoes" should be made to last longer than 3 months and both companies (Finish Line and Macy's) should have a better return policy for defective products. Macy's in-store customer service would also not take my return because the shoes were worn (obviously!!) and put the responsibility back on Finish Line which I was told only rents space in their stores through their "partnership" with Macy's, which is how Macy's was able to negate their responsibility for accepting my return. Somehow, you can use your Macy's card to purchase shoes from Finish Line in Macy's and they'll gladly take your money, but they want no part of the responsibility for defective merchandise sold in their stores. Finish Line needs to stop selling athletic shoes that don't last longer than 3 months and Macy's needs to reevaluate their return policies AND business relationships with companies selling defective products. First I'd like to start of by saying that I usually like this macys. I don't go really go as often anymore but when I do go to Macys it's usually this one. I feel it is kinda hit or miss though. Sometimes it can be challenging to find staff and sometimes they are nice and helpful. However the other day I was walking around with my mother and we were shopping in the clothes section when I noticed that we were being followed by security. It was very obvious this man was LP or something because he didn't do a good job trying to hide it lol. He kept touching his little ear piece. Maybe don't make it so obvious next time? Anyways, we weren't doing anything wrong, except hold the jacket I was going to purchase for her, which I actually did. I understand that lately there has been a lot of robberies at stores which is really unfortunate, even for us normal shoppers, but this made me extremely uncomfortable. I have never shoplifted nor would I ever do that. I know they have no way of knowing this but it made so uncomfortable I was actually just going to walk out and not give them my money but I really wanted to get my mom that jacket for Mother's Day. We weren't dressed poorly or anything so I don't know why this dude started targeting us unless it's some sort of race thing. I ordered a sectional sofa which was supposed to have 2 recliners and a chase. I received a recliner, sideless chair and chase. Apparently I made a mistake when ordering. The price of the sofa I received was 1849.00. The price of the sofa I thought I was ordering was 1999.00. A difference of 150. Upon calling customer service, waiting literally 1.5 hours to get a human and waiting another hour for a manager I am informed that the swap of the sideless chair for the recliner is going to cost me over 1000. They are not willing to do anything short of charging me over 1000 for a change that is 150. What is wrong with these people? read more

When I called this morning to see if my perfume was in stock as I had an issue with another online order, Aurelio was so kind and gracious on the phone, that I immediately went to the store do an exchange on a stormy and very rainy day - during this hectic Christmas shopping season! The thunder and heavy rain - not to mention the enormous multitude of Christmas shoppers - did not deter me, because of his kindness over the phone! Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But what is evident all the time is that they are understaffed. I have not been here once where I haven't waited at least 15-20 minutes behind the register to purchase something. Or I have not waited close to 20 minutes for someone on the floor to assist me in finding sizes. Sometimes the service is friendly and other times it's as cold as ice. The shoe department is run more like a Payless than a high end department store. On a couple of occasions, I've actually walked in the back and said "Hello??", as there was no one around to help. The guy in athletic shoes cannot help you in dress shoes, even though he's right there across the isle. It makes no sense - They're Both Selling Shoes!! This hub is now one of the biggest Macy's centers in town, now that the North Hollywood location is closed, so you would think that they care a great deal about keeping it properly staffed. Clearly they don't. Another major problem is sizes. They have plenty of 48 regulars, but very little of any other size. If you're 6ft or taller and weigh over 200 lbs., then this might be the place for you. If you do not fit that body type, then it's going to be harder to find the right size at this particular location. The one constant in this location is Nikki, the fashion and home stylist. She has been very helpful. Macy's has changed. I don't know what their mission statement is right now but I'm quite certain it doesn't promise to provide 'excellent customer service' and that's disappointing. read more

Purchased on 04/15/2022@ 7:28 pm I asked sales associate to ship me a new pair from the warehouse. Last night around 4:30 pm I received the Prada sunglasses I purchased and I took back to Macy's to return at 5:30 pm and all 3 sales associates refused to refund me claiming that the glasses were damaged. What the hell I just received them and I showed them the video that I attached below. I only recorded the video of when I received them because these sunglasses would've been my first brand pair and I was excited. I realized that I didn't need them as I found other sunglasses in my car so immediately after I recorded the video and when I found my other sunglasses I decided to return them. I told them I'd wait for a refund one of the ladies told me that they are a vendor inside Macy's and if I wanted a refund to contact sunglass hut. I told the associate if they are damaged then I that isn't my problem as I just received them as seen in the video I recorded. I am within my right to return for a full refund. They did offer me an exchange but I refused as it's not my fault and this is how I received them. I don't know how or care how but I'm within my right for a refund and as this is not my fault as I just received the sunglasses. I just purchased these less than a week ago. Sunglass hut emailed me back saying I had to call Luxottica to get my refund but there's no agent or live person to talk to. Don't go to Sunglass Hut inside Macy's or at all!!! This is a well run store. Everything is nicely laid out with an effective flow and the employees are helpful and efficient. It's the same company that owns their more upscale Bloomingdales. Much like a Toyota Lexus nexus. That's why all the worker bee's wear Black. I'm a typical guy. I roll in looking for exactly what I want and get out. I don't "go shopping." This is one of the larger Macy's stores. They have a nice Impulse Department for designer clothes for women compared to other stores. They carry most brands of designer jeans and tops. They also have a small inventory of Lucky Brand stuff in the corner. Check your coupons because a lot of the times they don't apply to designer items. The shoe section for women is really large, but I can never find anything I like. As far as clothing for women goes, this Macy's is even better than the store on Lake Avenue in Pasadena. The store in Glendale is a cluttered mess. Burbank's inventory is pretty bad. If anyone knows of a better Macy's in L.A. feel free to message me. Today was my first time in a mall or department store. I had to return an item at Macy's Sherman Oaks. 1. There are two lines but the customer service staff would randomly choose people from one or the other line to serve. Maybe there was a method to this madness but I could not figure it out. 2. But the most appalling thing was that customers coming to Macy's Sherman Oaks have no respect for other guests and service staff. They refuse to wear masks and keep 6 feet distance. Macy's used to set the standard for customer service. Anyway, yesterday we got the runaround when trying to look for a product and then another runaround when trying to pay.
