I managed to get in because I called the store number, but when I called them out on this, they lied to my face- they said that they close early if it's slow for payroll reasons, but again there were other customers shopping at this time. They also said I could have knocked- but this was exactly what I had done, when they just looked at me through the locked door and shook their head no. I regrettably feel like this was a racial action and I will be reporting this to corporate.

I'm not even sure I could call the customer service rude because it was actually non-existent. Zero smiles, zero eye contact and zero "hello, can I help you?" A worker walked up to me while I was waiting to get into the dressing room and simply said "name?" And proceeded to write down my name without any further comment. When I exited the dressing room, the second woman present didn't even ask if everything worked out, lacking any acknowledgement of my existence. While looking through the sales rake, I made a friendly comment to the worker about not being able to see the see anything without my glasses, and she made no attempt to return the friendly gesture. I'll stick to online shopping with Athleta.

I mean I guess their original purpose was skate shoes so that's probably why their soles are like that. I liked that they had sample shoes out and it was very clearly labeled if it was on sale. I just had to flip the shoe and look at the price on the bottom. I flagged down someone to try some shoes and he was very nice. He was extremely busy helping customers but he did not forget about me which has happened with other stores! I tried on the hibiscus old skool sneakers and thought it looked cute. Very classic silhouette. The guy walked by and said it looked very pretty! When I finally went to pay he apologized for the long waits which was not his fault! Anyway I was quite pleased with the service here and hope I can enjoy these shoes for a long time!

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for some items I saw online, hoping to buy in store and avoid shipping minimums. I came to the store a little after 5 and walked half way into the store before I was abruptly informed that the store is closing so she could take her lunch. Totally understandable - people deserve to eat but why was there only one person working? Isn't that a safety issue? Regardless, I left without purchasing anything in person and bought the items I wanted online. This past week, after receiving the items, one did not fit well and another item I changed my mind on so I wanted to return them. I went through the return process in the app, filled out the reasons and left to this store. When I arrived, there were at least 4 people working this time. There were two behind the counter, both helping someone. Two young kids were looking around but not in line yet so I stood in "line" directly behind the people paying for their items, only to see a VERY clear sign with taped arrows and everything informing me the line was to start on the right of the registers. I follow the directions, receipt open on my phone, ready to go when the lady at the register looks at me and asks me if she can help me. I said, yes, I was just doing a return. She says okay, the line is over there - and points at the original spot I had been standing. I look at her, look up and point to the VERY CLEAR sign confused. She said, oh, well, people usually line up there, I said okay, should I move? She said no and continued helping someone with a complicated order (using their hotcash). Then, the two young girls get in "line" behind the paying customers. I wait. Expecting the employee that I spoke with literally 6 inches from me, to tell her colleague I was next. But no. The other cashier calls the two young kids up for their purchases. I wait. I am not about to start something with some kids but I was irritated. Finally Hotcash purchaser is finished, I hand the employee the shirt I am returning, she takes it and says, "oh, I can't do returns." And looks around to her other colleague (not the one at the other register) and asks him if he can do the return. He can, apparently, (maybe a manager?) and proceeds to help me. He then takes each item, one at a time, despite them being on the same receipt and asks me to restate why I am returning, taking forever. It was such a weird experience and I did not understand WHY they would put ALL THAT EFFORT into making a sign for the line, only to COMPLETELY IGNORE IT, confusing and annoying the patrons. Hopefully next time I shop at this location they have a CLEAR change in their line management or I will just avoid this one from now on.

I was in for the first time last month and had an extremely positive experience. When I walked in the owner was helping another customer by suggesting and pointing out some really cute sweaters that she, the owner, thought would look great on this customer. It was fun watching this interaction as I browsed the racks. The customer looked right out of a European fashion magazine as she tried the sweaters on right out on the sales floor. My immediate impression was that the sales gal (later I learned it is her shop) really knew her stuff. Yes, her approach was pretty low-key, but frankly I prefer that to being pestered by sales staff in small shops. And I think her low-key approach may very well be intentional on her part for the very reason that overly aggressively sales staff in boutiques can be a real turn off and keep people from coming in off the sidewalk. I walked out with some fabulous items. I went in with one particular item in mind and with her help put together a great ensemble. She brought me all kinds of things to try on and was pretty candid about which things she thought worked and which didn't. I honestly have a hard time believing that these negative reviews are for the same shop. I'm headed in again soon. If my experience changes for the worse I will be certain to post.

So the reward showed as used, but I received no benefit from it. This is not a one-off issue. I've also dealt with price discrepancies and last-minute cancellations on pickup orders. I like the products most of the time, but the customer experience has become unreliable and frustrating. A rewards program should not require customers to chase down basic account issues after the store can already see the reward was redeemed.
