I stopped by for some new sneakers. I've been a fan of Vans for awhile and I like how chic their shoes are. I'm not sure if they're the most comfortable (their sole is extremely flat) but I still like them. I mean I guess their original purpose was skate shoes so that's probably why their soles are like that. I liked that they had sample shoes out and it was very clearly labeled if it was on sale. I just had to flip the shoe and look at the price on the bottom. I flagged down someone to try some shoes and he was very nice. He was extremely busy helping customers but he did not forget about me which has happened with other stores! I tried on the hibiscus old skool sneakers and thought it looked cute. Very classic silhouette. The guy walked by and said it looked very pretty! When I finally went to pay he apologized for the long waits which was not his fault! Very rude leadership - a person with that attitude should not be running a store. "Manager" was very rude to my mom - he literally asked her if this was the first time shes been at a vans store in a rude tone and got upset because my mom was looking at a shoe. He yanked it from her hand and said she has to ask for a size rudely and said something about messing up the tag that he had to print again. The other associate team member was very helpful and apologized for his managers attitude. I hope this store gets a new supervisor, in the meanwhile Nordstrom also sells vans. read more

The people working were so nice except who i assume was the manager a man wearing a hat and nose piercing , was rude and disgusting to the workers yelling at them which i could hear from where the shoes are even with their loud music playing. Stopped in last night to check out the new shoe models and see if anything caught my eye. I went over to the skateboard parts cabinet and noticed that some brand new sets of wheels were marked with extremely low prices on the bottom shelf which is very surprising to me. An employee named Nic came over and asked if I needed any help and I said yes and asked him if by chance the skateboard wheels really were dirt cheap or had they been mis marked. He said "let me check and even if they are mis marked I will still give them to you for that price". To my surprise the wheels were not mis marked and on top of that were actually on sale with a 30% discount. Long story short I walked in not really needing to buy anything and walked out with 2 sets of brand new DarkStar skateboard wheel sets for a whopping total of 15 bucks. That kind of price can't be beat by Society in San Carlos or SkateWorks down in Santa Cruz. I walked out a happy customer. Go get some skateboard parts and maybe a new pair of shoes from Vans. The manager at this store is very rude - He yanked the shoes off my wife's hand which she was trying on and said we had to ask and wait for their assistance. He goes on again about how we made him re do the laces on those shoes. There was also another couple there who said he treated them the same way. When asked he said his name is Kevin. Looked up in google and his full name is Kevin David. I don't want to post links but looks like he graduated in arts and got a job he's not satisfied with. got some shoes awhile ago, i couldn't decide for a long time. i had several employees help me find the perfect pair that would fit for me. they let me try on many different sizes and styles. they helped me find new styles, which was fantastic. the customer service here is seriously amazing. so fast and efficient. and everyone that i encountered was so friendly , and had such fantastic personalities. i will for sure be coming here for a new pair soon!! can't wait to shop here again. worth every penny. read more

On previous visits, the customer service at this location has been good. However, on the morning of 7/24/17 we went as soon as they opened and the customer service was non-existent. When we walked in, the guy behind the register greeted us with a smile and a "good morning." He was fine. It was the guy working the stock in the shoe department that needed a few lessons on customer service and working in retail. Mind you there was no one else in the store besides us, as they had just opened. My pre-teen son walks to the back and starts looking for some Vans. The guy working back there doe not come over to ask if we need help or even greet us. It was like he saw us coming and immediately headed to the other side of the shoe selection area and started straightening the shoes as if it were THE most important job ever. (Mind you, the store had just opened, so it wasn't like customers had messed up the displays before we came in.) My son picks the shoe he wants and we turn around to ask for his size. The guy is no where to be seen, and neither is the guy that was originally at the register. After a few moments, the shoe guy comes back out. We're standing there, shoe in hand, obviously needing a size, but he doesn't even come over to ask if we need help. He goes back to "straightening" shoes on display! Are you kidding me. Ordinarily I would've walked out then and there for the obvious lack of care and concern for the customer. Unfortunately on this morning my son was in dire need of a pair of shoes that weren't athletic shoes for our trip out of town the next day. After a few more minutes, my son goes over and asks the guy if he can measure his feet for this pair of shoes. The guy comes over to me and asks what size. I tell him I think he's a 6/6.5, but could he please measure him to be sure. The guy says, okay, I'll bring you both. I repeat that I want his feet measured and the guy looks at me like I'm inconveniencing him. He reluctantly says, "Ok. I'll be right back." He disappears in the back and when he returns, he says He can't measure him, someone's moved the measuring thing and he can't find it. REALLY! Wow! He can't find it! So he tells my son to go step on the "kid" measuring mat so he can see what size. My pre-teen son's feet are definitely larger than kid size (which only goes up to a 3) and there is no way that's going to help us. But my son does as the guy says and his foot is hanging over the size 3 on the mat, like way off the mat. The guy looks and says, he looks like he's about a 4. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I'd already said he was at least a 6 or 6.5! So I tell the guy, I don't think so, you need to bring him at least a 6/6.5. When he returns, he's got one box, the 6 and hands it to me. The box has the 6s, but they're not laced. The guy actually stands there and watches ME lace the shoes up, so my son can try them on Really?! There's no one in here and you're doing NoTHInG to sell these shoes! Of course they're too small and we need the 6.5. He brings them out. Same scenario, he watches me lace up the shoes and do HIS job. Nope...too small again. We have to find him to request the 7s. Brings them out...same routine. We finally settle on the 7s and head to the checkout counter. No one there. So tempted to just walk out without the shoes, but as I said we needed them that day. The guy that "helped" us finally comes to ring us up. "Did you find everything okay?" he asks as he takes the shoes to ring them up. Oh, now the guy remembers some of his customer service training, now that he's making the sale! I wanted to tell him, "Yes I did...No thanks to you!" Thank goodness Vans practically sell themselves just based on their name, otherwise, this store wouldn't be selling any shoes because it doesn't hire competent workers! read more

Just came here with my friend today and one person's customer service skills sucked. The guy who tried to help us said that the shoes we were looking for are out and have been gone for a long time but my friend and I saw the shoes we wanted online and it said its a new arrival -.- so like? Ok? Lol and then after he said it basically doesn't exist anymore, we just got sad and then he just left us and went back to the cashier and started laughing with this girl/coworker. I know their customer service is not as bad as this but I'm just upset that he's not knowledgable of the products of the brand he works for. Maybe he's new and all? Wow I don't even know where to start. I came to this vans store to look for some shoes for my kid 10 year old pablito. Pablito has size 11 feet so I was hoping that my son could get his favorite shoes when I entered the store, I felt a nice cool vibe. I walked towards the back of the store where the cool shoes where located. There was so many options. Wow! :o . A nice young lady named joselyn approached me and my son Pablito and asked if there was anything she could help us with. She was very kind to measure pablitos foot and told us that he was actually a size 11.5! Thanks joselyn! We were able to buy $400 of merchandise and my son pablito was very happy. The customer service is terrible at this store. I've been there multiple times and have never had a decent experience. Today was the last straw, I came in looking for shoes for my toddler. Found a pair I liked, requested a size and was brought out two different sizes (kuddos for that). Unfortunately, they were not true to size like I was told, so I needed a smaller size. I was ready to purchase if anyone would have bothered to assist me! I stood around for a bit and when I saw one female employee on the floor, my husband asked for help. She proceeded to tell him that she was busy with another customer. The entire time we were in the store, this employee was catering to this one customer. Going back and forth and pretty much being her personal stylist. After several frustrating minutes we decided to leave. Should have stuck to my gut and gone to Nordstrom as I always do. This store rocks. I love Vans in general, but this store surpasses all the other Vans stores I've been to. Without hesitation, this store sure has good costumer service and a great selection of shoes. This store always has the newest color of vans and most of the sizes are in stock; no need to wait or order online. There is always someone there to help out and answer questions or grab shoe sizes. All the staff are polite and considerate; they don't ignore or try to rush you. When it comes to checking out, waiting in line hardly ever happens and the cashiers make small talk, just enough to be friendly but not too much where it becomes annoying. read more

The stars that I did give this review are only for the Vans brand itself. Customer service was some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. It took FOREVER to find somebody that even acknowledged we were there, then when she went back to find the shoes in the sizes we needed, I think she went on a lunch break while she was back there. Finally, I stood at the register with my purchase for what seemed like another lifetime before the guy who finally appeared gave the impression that he was forced against his will to ring us up. NO "sorry for the wait", NO "did you find everything you were looking for?", NO "thank you" at all!!! He stuffed 2 shoe boxes and a sweatshirt in a bag that was too small and handed it to me like it was a bag of dog sh**!! We were there over a week ago and I am still angry about it! read more
