I decided it was best to park on the roof and take the escalator down to ground level.....right to the restaurant! While I was there, I walked around to see what the indoor mall was like. It's a nice shopping mall with a variety of shops, restaurants, and services. The North Mall has a huge "Dining Terrace" which includes an outdoor patio with fire pits. I like the hand washing area. I heard stories that the owners of the mall want to tear down the enclosed mall and build a mixed use open air mall. The plan is yet to be approved. I like Hillsdale Mall the way it is.

Attended an early morning Beauty Trend Show in late July. It featured guest speakers talking about…read morecertain featured products, their attributes and makeovers on stage with the specific product reps applying it on models. They had light bites like croissants, yogurt fruit cups, coffee, juice, water and prosciutto wrapped melons. They had a DJ, raffles, free samples, freebies with a purchase and the theme was Hawaiian so we were given plastic leis and a big yellow mesh bag with a goodie bag filled with some samples. The presentation was upbeat and fun except for some ladies who were constantly chatting and even a couple of ladies behind me who just kept talking throughout the whole show so it was hard to hear. I don't know if one was translating from English but I thought it was very inconsiderate. It was already sometimes hard to hear because the speakers had to hold a microphone while trying to do a makeover and/or the music was also loud. Despite the interruptions, the reps and employees kept it upbeat. We ended up getting coupons under certain seats so that was a bonus for those who didn't win a gift basket from the raffle. Those baskets were generous with products!! After the show, women scattered to the respective cosmetic reps to try samples, buy with purchase and take advantage of the extras the reps brought for both the Beauty Trend Show and the Anniversary Sale. I reached out to the Beauty Manager, Belinda as I wanted some tips for eye makeup with a MAC rep. Belinda set up an appointment with a MAC Field Exec Shane Turner who was also a presenter. I showed up for my appointment but he was helping other customers who wanted to take advantage of the sales freebies for the day so I had to wait in the chair for maybe 10-15 minutes. He told me he'd wish there were more associates to help out. He seemed serious and overwhelmed. I told him about the MAC products I use and that caffeine irritates my eyes. He offered one product and said it doesn't have caffeine but I found out it had some in the ingredients list when I got home. I asked about the wear on a satin lipstick and he said it was long-wearing but it wore off later on in the afternoon. He applied a Green liner that was supposed to be long-wearing as well but that ended up smearing by the afternoon when I was still at the mall. He used a too radiant & brown tone concealer so that wasn't the correct shade. He gave some tips that were helpful but was disappointed in the actual products used. Afterwards, I went to 111 Skin and bubbly, enthusiastic, positive & informative Lupe the 111Skin rep was really fun to talk to and l learned about the line. She ran out of eye patches as a ton of women were lined up to try them. I had to leave the line earlier so I could make my MAC appointment so I missed out. I ended up learning about the product line and bought a serum after she applied it on me. I was amazed at the results! She was able to give me samples of their products so I could try before I buy so I was happy with that. I went to try some Jo Malone perfume and wanted to try a sample but they ran out of the tester on one. I was only able to spray some on my arm. When I checked out with a male employee, I noticed he had a few other yellow totes with samples and asked him about that. That was for the Influencers who RSVP'd originally for that day and I happened to be one of them so he gave me one! Afterwards, I went upstairs to look for more Anniversary sale items. The helpful Asian female clerk helped me locate some items that were on my list. I was happy they had a lot of sizes and merchandise at this location. They were well-stocked! This is a convenient location and have online store pickups upstairs which is convenient. The eBar has quick bites and I was able to get a Green Smoothie.

Extremely disappointing customer service at Nordstrom. When she eventually came back out and asked if I needed something, I said yes, but also pointed out that I had noticed her walk away while I was waiting. I told her she I would wait for help by the other employee who was already assisting another customer with shoes first, but her response was incredibly dismissive and had such a rude tone. She then offered to get the shoes I was looking for, so I gave her the style and size I needed. When she returned, she had an attitude yet again. I genuinely don't understand why customers are made to feel like they're a burden for simply asking for help. I came in to shop, not to deal with someone's attitude. Basic courtesy and professionalism should be the bare minimum, especially at a store like Nordstrom. Please do a better job of training your staff. Customer service matters, and this experience was unacceptable and left a really bad impression.

I bought three dresses, with scarves included, 3 pairs of fabulous designer shoes, some reasonably priced designer vintage handbags and a gorgeous formal minidress/long top. I've worn everything except one pair of shoes so far and I've gotten lots of compliments. The owners are really great. Noelle stuck it out with me for the longest time, and was skillful at styling me and finding shoes, handbags and even lovely jewelry pieces to go with the outfits. This is a really really fun little hole in the wall of a boutique!! It's really tiny, but I was in there for hours trying things on and uncovering so many treasures. Amazing little shop!!! I'lll be back again and again. Such great Customer Service! You just don't find this kind of personalized styling anywhere even when a personal stylist is supposedly working with you, often all they are doing is checking fit and getting different sizes or suggesting alterations. I felt like I was a better stylist than they were at Nordstrom! Hats off to the owners/stylists at Sainted Goods. It is literally the best tiniest little hole in the wall and so fun!

They were packed, but let us in anyway to browse the dresses. They pulled several dresses they thought would look good on my daughter, their customer service is amazing! We purchased a gorgeous dress that day, there were so many choices! Then WE made a big mistake. We left with the dress to get it altered at a different location. That turned into a horrible mistake. After a clear request to hem the dress and keep only a little of the train in the back, the tailor hemmed the dress too short. It was awful. We left the tailor with the material that was removed and went back to B Chic where they handed the dress to Jenny, their on-site seamstress. Jenny saved the dress! Somehow, she managed to reattach the train and hem it properly at the correct length. The selection of dresses 5 stars The customer service 5 stars The seamstress (miracle worker) Jenny 5 billion stars My daughter loved her dress and had a wonderful prom. It's not super convenient for me to drive from Foster City to San Carlos for one pair of pants lol, maybe no one is answering my call because of my Fresno area code? Felt like after I called a second time it was intentionally sent to voicemail. Wanted to shop locally but found the pants online for exactly what I would have paid to them. Update: really impressed by the responsiveness from the owner and the ability to acknowledge shortcomings while providing alternative options to contact them. Sure, IKEA is IKEA, but when you buy furniture from World Market it's guaranteed to last. Not only is everything quality, but you can find things at this store that you can't find darn near anyplace else. Aside from home goods, they have a huge selection of global food and drinks, including one of the most diverse candy sections around. After coming here for so long you'd think I know everything about this store, but a few weeks ago I learned something new and really valuable. Every department has a clearance section!!! YES!!!! Every department! There's clearance for candles, body wash, men's fragrances, kitchen wares, food and drink, furniture, everything! They also mark down anything from a recent holiday, up to 90% off!! Come on, in this economy who doesn't love a deal? If you can't find one of the clearance sections, just ask someone. All of the employees are so nice and helpful. My favorite clearance areas are the 33% and 55% off food racks located at the back of the store. They are loaded with yummy food - like salami, pasta, gnocchi, baked goods, sodas, coffee, tea, chips, candy - and everything is heavily discounted. A lot of the items have been discontinued, so this is the last chance to buy them. It's the first place I head when I walk in. I've left before with a full grocery bag for less than $8. But they also had an abundance of holiday themed merchandise for sale, and aisles full of toys and products dedicated to Wicked, Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, and more. In fact I picked up some unique Harry Potter gifts for the nieces and nephews, along with my favorite irish potato chips, of course--keogh's truffle and butter flavor. There was hardly a line at the checkout counter and ample employees providing fast and friendly service. I even got a complimentary holiday tote for being a rewards member. That came in handy for carrying all the goodies I got.
