The bookcase with free books for kids.

This is a small, well-organized thrift store run by really lovely volunteers. The store supports many different charities. The prices are quite good, but perhaps my favorite thing is that they give four free books to kids.

My favorite place to donate. They are so happy when I donate all my store shopping bags. The all volunteer staff are always gracious.

I'm an avid thrifter and this is one of the better thrift stores I've come across. Everything is…read morepretty reasonably priced for what it is, especially compared to Goodwill and other thrifts. They definitely do price certain items a little higher (name brands, new with tags, etc.) but it's not as terrible as most other places, and still a place I'd recommend to find some treasures on a budget. The store is clean and nicely organized. I went on a Thursday afternoon so it wasn't too busy and not super loud/hectic. Can't speak for weekends or other popular times. The store is predominantly womens' clothes. They have a good variety in brands, prices, and types of clothing. They have a good mix of vintage and more "modern, trendy" brands and styles. The child and men's section is a little on the smaller side, so if you're primarily looking for that, you won't have as much luck. Though I am on the younger side, I do enjoy how this store doesn't try to cater to my age group or "trends", so they attract a more considerate customer base in my opinion. I didn't interact with the employees aside from checkout but the woman was very nice :)

I was given a bed frame. After a while a volunteer convinced me I don't need it and better buy a…read morebed then she came and collect that frame . Buying clothes here is also almost impossible with their rules and they treat customers . It's hard to believe their goals to help the needy people .

Such an amazing store with so many hidden gems. I've never had so many hits before going thrifting…read morebut I was able to find some very cute pieces for my closet. Really take your time browsing because you'll definitely find something to take home. There's a lot of diversity in terms of styles and brands too They also buy clothes but the wait times tend to be long so come early or on a weekday.

For comparison, I sold 10 items at Crossroads and received $57.00. At Plato's Closet San Mateo, I…read moresold 8 items and received $27.90. My clothes were 80% brand new with tags and bought from Macy's, Nordstrom, BeBe, O'Neil, Nike, True religion jeans brands (all brands new w/tag on) Joe jeans and more medium brand.....and 20% worn once, so I personally found Crossroads offered better value for my clothing but I didn't get much selling items from crossroads because I didn't have much street clothes wearing styles. The store purchased 8 items and paid $27.90 total. Based on my experience, the offer was much lower than I expected for the condition of the clothing. I had a better selling experience at Crossroads, where I received a noticeably higher payout for similar items. Because of that, I would recommend sellers compare offers before committing to a sale. No matter your main goal is to clear out your closet quickly, this store is not work for you either. if you're hoping to maximize the value of new-with-tags or like-new clothing, I recommend checking Crossroads as well and comparing the results for yourself.
