Trash sold at this store. Furthermore, the woman behind the counter was unfriendly and unhelpful. Don't waste your time.

Terrible manners from the owner, which is a pity because her selection is so interesting. Her store is very cluttered and disorganized. Things sit on the floor, fill the walls, and clutter every tabletop surface. You will have to circle the store many times to take everything in, though doing so will likely result in you being asked to leave and accused of stealing. Today, I was told, "Hon, I'm ready for you to leave, I can't watch you anymore," suggesting that she had suspected me of theft. This comment was made AFTER she acknowledged that she recognized me as one of her regulars, pointing out that I was wearing earrings I had purchased from her months prior. I had not even been in the store for very long. I have overlooked this brash and poor behavior in the past because I prefer to support local businesses. However, the disorganization and the disrespect you will encounter here are not worth the mediocre prices you'll find. read more

I didn't want to write a review but I can't stop thinking about the jarring experience I had here. I walked in while the owner was chatting with a customer. She looked at me but continued on her conversation, which is totally fine. After the customer left, there was only myself, a mom and her daughter left in the store. We all browsed for a bit before the daughter paid for her items and headed out with her mom. The owner went to sit in the front with who I assume was her husband and they started gossiping about the customers who had just left, saying stuff along the lines of how she didn't care for the daughter and making remarks about how "stuffed" the mom's tote bag was (which makes sense now after reading the reviews of her accusing people of stealing). She ended the gossip session with "you just know when someone doesn't belong in the store" like what??? I love to gossip as much as the next person but maybe don't say that out loud in front of customers... Anyways I told her I wanted to purchase a silk dress that didn't have a price tag and we started making small talk about it. Let's just say she is definitely not polite nor does she speak to customers in standard business etiquette. The shop has tons of stuff at okay prices but it might take a few visits to find the gems amongst the mess of stuff that I don't find particularly worth coming back for after my experience with Lynne. She should really consider doing something else with her antiques because selling them in retail is clearly not for her. read more

I've been coming here for decades. It's done nothing but go down hill, to the point that this store is actually disgustingly dirty. The owner is often sitting at the door and talks to you the entire time you're shopping. She often inappropriately tells me about her ex husband. It seems like it's been years since this store has had it's inventory refreshed, or cleaned. The prices are extremely high and I cannot imagine paying for anything that comes from this store. Me and my boyfriend have discovered this hidden treasure earlier this year around June 2023 and have been back several times. I look forward to buying my treasures here and I love how we just roam around it's also great to simply pay in cash! Lynn also has lay away! I've got my eye on a fur coat! I'd recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind searching for hidden treasures! We drive from San Francisco so we make a whole afternoon trip to other stores and restaurants and come home happy with my little treasures which btw are quite affordable! read more

This place is over priced at best. Lynn fails to recognize regulars after years of (DECADES) of supporting the business. She presumes you know nothing about what she's selling and has an air about her that matches her shop - stale. I've tried to consign here too. Everything was good until the owner stared looking at my daughter in a weird way and asking her and her friend if they had something to check out. (She just turned 15) ??? So I asked the owner if it was ok for them to look around (after we have been at her store for almost '40) and she proceeds to tell me that both girls look "suspicious " I went ahead and explained to the owner that both girls were with me and that they are good girls assuming that will be enough for her to see that t weren't thieves but she kept going saying "I know when I see it" and "they are at that age" Well... she obviously doesn't know when she sees it and I am not here to describe who my daughter and friend are but the owner call was totally wrong and whet upsets me more is that even after I tell her I was with them and that we are good people she still believed we we were there to steal from her. So upsetting and sad. My daughter was so excited to shop here again as she had been there with my husband a few days back and bought stuff... (I guess my husband doesn't look like a thief because he is tall and good looking lol) but I felt not welcomed at all and even maybe discriminated by the way I looked. Good luck to the store and the owner. I am not going there again... I will go and support another local business but not this one. Good day you all! And never judge based on what you think you know because you might be completely wrong. Even though it's smaller than similar stores I've liked in the past, I definitely enjoyed browsing through the treasures and felt like there was a bit of everything that I enjoy in vintage stores! There's always been a bit of magic flowing through this store. I feel like each time I go in something intriguing happens. There's a bit of everything through the ages for anyone... have an open mind, relax, browse and voila! Who knew... that's exactly what I'd been thinking about the day before! :) It's a "story-telling store" and a place to connect in with your intuition. 3.5 stars. Don't get to 25th much anymore, apparently much longer than I remember...since this place has been around for over 2 years per the owner. Truth be told, we wouldn't have found this place if it wasn't for Charlie from the Home Consignment Store in San Mateo. We have a lot of stuff to off load from years of shopping at antique stores, antique shows, auctions... It's amazing how most things don't "appreciate" and values are truly based in the eyes of the beholder. Anyway, we have some mirrors and artwork that Charlie said this place may be able to help sell. The owner was having lunch and helping another lady with the display case door. We waited for a while then interrupted with a Hello. Told her we were referred by Home Consignment and she said she will come out to our car to take a look. She took some pieces but not all based on her clientele. While she took care of the paperwork (50/50 split), we browsed around and found that their prices are very reasonable. There were pieces we liked but we must control ourselves and stop buying - FOCUS, G&G - you are here to sell! Nice lady, very no non-sense. Good selection of items, definitely a place we would frequent if still in the market to buy. Considering many of the antique shops have closed in the peninsula, this is probably one of the better ones left. read more

My friend brought me here over summer and I totally fell in love with the place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I found a wonderful fur caplet that I had to have but was not willing to fork out all the cash for. The shop keep offered a layaway program and I immediately took advantage. The summer passed and I had not made a second payment so I called to see if my item was still available and if I could come pay it off. My call was never returned but a few days ago (4 months later) I dropped in to see if it was still around . The staff remembered me and knew exactly why I was there. I was overjoyed! They got my item and even gave me a discount! I can't wait to come back here and discover more treasures. read more

I brought two pieces of antique furniture to She Sells Resale. The owner (?) Lynne, told me that she could could sell them after seeing pictures that I sent to her. Unfortunately, one of the pieces became damaged in transit to the shop. I went into the store to tell Lynne. At first she ignored me, even though no other customers were there. When I told her that I was there to deliver the furniture that she was expecting, she interrupted me to begin helping another customer who had just walked in. I was a little put off by Lynne's cold and unemotional manner. Lynne agreed to take the undamaged dressing table. As I was putting the mirror back on, it fell and broke. I went to tell Lynne that the set was no longer in a condition to sell. As you might guess, I was very disappointed that my bureau and dressing table ended up becoming damaged. Lynne just looked at me and said in very cavalier manner "You really should have waited for a friend to help you move your furniture". Her comment was really unnecessary. Having read the earlier reviews, I was encouraged by the nice things people had to say about She Sells Resale, and the owner. There must have been a recent change in owners, because this can't be the same person. I'm just sorry I chose to bring my furniture to She Sells Resale. read more

My friend had a bunch of jewels on consignment, and when her store was broken into last summer Lynn didn't reimburse or want to take responsibility for her 50%. That was too bad, considering there are no cameras in the store, no security system and be warned if you wanted to consign anything that cannot be replaced. I used to consign there, only to find is easy for customers to pocket your smaller things, and difficult for Lynn to keep track of everybody's stuff. Who wants to argue over payment of what is mine, and what didn't sell? Not me. Also the reviews of Lynn being both warm AND bitchy made me laugh out loud!! Just like any woman of a certain age, she has mood swings. Its true. But give the lady a break already. . . Do you think it's easy being old, hauling furniture around, eating crap food on the go and dealing with people all day?? I'd get grumpy with customers too. I'll bet the only joy she gets is first dibs on the good stuff and the occasional vacation. Be nice. read more

Wow, this place has a lot of random stuff. Brought some of my parent's china in and they didn't take any. Fair enough. However, when I looked around the store afterwards, i was SHOCKED they didn't take anything, since the stuff they did seem to have there seemed really random, to say the least.. .like an old lady's rummage sale. Probably some good stuff mixed in with some bad stuff. Example of good stuff: if you are into that kind of thing, they seemed to have a lot of furs that maybe are inexpensive? Dunno, I don't buy furs. Bad stuff: trial size bottles of perfume (like not expensive stuff, tiny sample-type bottles of Lancome Tresor???). Lady in front of me got the store person to consign what I could tell was a clearly knock-off Coach bag from one of their older colorful lines. Lots and lots of tchockes gathering dust. Pass on shopping there, but try your luck I guess if you are clearing out your closet and want to try consigning. If they don't take anything, the Goodwill is just down the street. Plus one star because the shopowner was extremely polite nonetheless and they helped me carry my unconsigned items back to the car for me. read more

I've never consigned anything here. This is purely a customer review. The small store is a treasure trove of beautiful and unique fashion pieces and retro decor. I've shopped here many times and every time I buy more than I'd planned because its all so stunning! I've even brought my man in and he bought three pairs of antique cuff links! Gorgeous pieces! The owner is no-nonsense + efficient, which is what you want at the end of a long second-hand hunt! Quick and knowledgeable. ....I had headed to 25th to buy some goods at Tandy Leather for my craft work when I took a turn back to return a box which they had piled my purchses in when I reminded myself I wanted to see what She Sells ReSale had... What a deelight....what low prices...what reasonable costs for such treasures, I purchased a dinner set for 12 Warwick, Made in the USA for half price= $132. plus more, plus more plus more.... This store is worth visiting once a week to see what treasures and I mean Bargains these delightful women have to offer.... This place rates 10 Stars.....the owners, management are delightful, friendly, loving the treasures are affordable, the time spent there is time spent in heaven....shhhh it's a secret treasure. read more

I love everything about this shop--the selection, the owner, the quality of the vintage goods. I went in today for the first time after hearing good things and I am thrilled that I did. I found some wonderful vintage kitchenware and everything was in incredible condition fairly priced. The owner herself is a such a breath of fresh air--a very friendly, kind and all around cheerful lady whom I was happy to do business with. I felt very comfortable chatting with her and she made me feel most welcome and my business appreciated. I grew up around the corner from where SSR is now, but it wasn't there when I lived in San Mateo. It was nice to chat with someone who knew the area and knew antiques. Lately when I thrift/antique the owners all seem like uppity curmudgeons! Not here. The opening hours are lax (Yelp said 11 AM, sign on the door said 11:30, shop opened today at noon), but it was well worth the trip and knowing this I can plan to come after noon. The owner offers layaway for bigger ticket items. Highly recommend stopping by if you love vintage linens, kitchenware, beautiful old gowns and or just have a hankering for pretty things from the past. read more

I'm a little obsessed with fine china, and this store has the best selection of old china I've ever seen. Prices range from pretty good to pricey, but then some of the china they have is very very nice. No bargain basement prices here, though, so I managed to resist buying anything and just drooled over stuff for a while. The ladies there were very sweet to me, maybe because we share an obsession with china. I didn't pay any attention to anything else, so take this review for what it's worth. read more

I was originally drawn to the store due to its proximity to Tandy Leather Supply. Growing up as a thrift store shopper and now as a business owner I have always been one to spend my money wisely on items that served a relevant function. I have been to antique stores where the prices were so astronomical that the thought of a purchase made my wallet drip a couple tears while refusing to relinquish some cash on principal alone. In another review someone mentioned that it was a step up from goodwill, I agree however with optimum customer service, a willingness to barter and wide range of goods. I highly recommend stopping into She Sells Resale and if you see the object of your desire, to buy it because it wont last long once the word gets out about this jewel on 25th st. -Pj read more

Been coming here for over five years, and have always gotten great deals from Lynne. I guess some people have found her "salesman like" and "abrupt".. I say, if you want someone to coddle you, go to an expensive dept store and be humored. She's there to do business, not hold your hand. I've never expected her to, and I have gotten lots of deals there (i.e 1920s complete German porcelain teas set for $85, beautiful 1870s French chairs for under $300, 1890s bisque art for pennies, etc). I think she smells the nickel ad dime types or the hoo hum buy-nothings. I would tell them to have a good day too~! read more

I'll say up front that I met Donna, the owner, through my own home furnishings boutique several months ago. She was extremely sweet and mentioned she had a shop on 25th. When I stopped by to visit, I ended up buying a bunch of treasures for my own home! Her prices are so reasonable and the stock shifts so often that I literally have it programmed into my agenda to stop by once a week to take a browse around. I almost never leave empty handed. I got the most gorgeous architectural fragment there from the 1900s and some gorgeous jewelry among many other things. I'm like a little kid in a candy shoppe quickly scouring the floors, walls and surfaces for new finds. My very very favorite? A perfect mid-century floor lamp that casts the most delicious glow. The price? Too great to tell you! I know what I like and what I need and what I want and she's always got something to fill one or more check boxes. While it is usually considered a no-no to review a business if you own a business, I am actually a customer of Donna's and she's been so wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable about the things I've purchased that I will continue to shop there as long as she's the owner! read more

I love this place, I popped in to get some old ornate frames and found some really great ones at VERY fair prices! The owner is super sweet and helped me hunt through everything to find more frames~ even went into the back to dig around a few times! I use frames for art shows so I always need them~ I will be stopping by here every time I need a reload of cool things for sure :D It seems like its the kind of place that has new things every time you stop by~ so that always makes for an interesting visit! read more

I give this place no stars. As a vintage/antique collector,..prices are extremely on the high side and overpriced. Found the Antique mall on Laurel Street in San Carlos much better pricing and the ladies working at shop so sweet. Also, what turned me off is the owner. She was pressuring some elderly lady with a cane to buy chairs and a lamp. When the elderly lady wanted to think about it, she practically was grinding her and using tactics a used car salesman would be proud. What was the kiss of death was when the elderly lady was walking out the owner said very snarky "Well, don't be surprised if it's not here when you get back." It seems the owner is only nice to you unless you buy from her. If one is looking for another consignment/antique type of experience, there is another shop very similar on Broadway. read more

(sigh) I used to like this place until the owner turned nasty on me without warning. They have nifty vintage stuff, ranging from drink swizzlers and sewing items to fur coats and furniture. I've bought some nice things such as an old cookbook and a faux opal hairpin, though apparently not enough to remain welcome on the premises. Capsule review: if you don't throw enough money at the owner, she hates you. tl;dr version-- I've been coming here to browse semi-frequently, enough for the owner to start greeting me as a regular. One day, she asked me for help deciphering the stamp on the bottom of a porcelain vase; I checked some websites when I got home, found the provenance, and brought her printouts. Another day, I was quietly peering at an item inside a case, and she came over and said it was okay to open the case and take a closer look. So last week, when I saw some glass fruit inside a case, I opened it up and took them out to see the price tags. I couldn't quite decide yet, put them back, closed the case again, and went on another browsing circuit while pondering. When I got back to that case, I opened it back up again, intending to buy at least one of them. The owner came over, took the glass from me, and said, "You never buy anything, and you're making me nervous. So I think you shouldn't touch things any more." I was too bewildered to do anything except mumble a vague apology and retreat. Without buying anything, needless to say. It didn't even occur to me until a few hours later that I was being accused of potential theft, not just potential clumsiness. To be fair, I probably shouldn't've opened the case without asking first; at the time, I didn't even think about it, but I can see now that it could bother her. Even if she okayed it in the past, it wasn't nec'ly a permanent grant of permission. And sometimes-- though not on this occasion-- I'm carrying around a totebag like many eco-aware shoppers. I think I would've obeyed quite meekly if she'd asked me in the past to leave my bag at the counter while browsing. Or if she'd simply told me this time not to open cases without asking her on the spot (and said so as soon as I opened it). It would be nice if she had consistent policies in these matters, or at least could politely announce her policies du jour without delivering veiled insults. But her actual statement suggests that it's adequate grounds for suspicion if a frequent browser simply doesn't buy anything-- or rather, doesn't buy anything recently enough for her to remember. I only just noticed on this last visit that there's a box of loose beads and findings on a shelf behind the counter, and would've liked to peek inside. But at this point, she probably wouldn't trust me to look at them, and I have no intention of giving her any more money. read more

To each her own, but I do not recommend this place. It seemed kind of sad, and things seemed to be thrown about. The prices were too high, in my opinion, to have no organization. I overheard the owner tell someone who was working there that she didn't care if the new plates that came in were wiped down before they were put out to sell. I have to say that I am a little hesistant as this is my secret goldmine BUT almost ALL of my favorite antique stores have folded in recent years:( I cannot let any of my fave antique stores go down that road anymore! Small business is a passion of mine, my sister and I have one, and this small business is one that deserves to keep thriving! And since Eclectic Antiques in RWC closed recently this has been my new absolute go-to place. I recently bought a 100plus-year-old home and She Sells Resale has been instrumental in my decorating projects. Decorating is one of my most favorite things and so far Ive done the living room and my bedroom and I have found alot of my key pieces here, along with art, etc that have been creating what I think is the most beautiful home ever;) Its like the best flea-market ever, or stepping into an old attic full of treasures, ... I literally just have to stop looking cuz there is too much I love in there! There is always a ton of stuff and at pretty do-able prices. There is regular fresh merchandise and I stop in on a regular basis. PS: I also love that the owner is always wearing red lipstick. So glamorous;) read more
