Very disappointing experience. I attempted to return a pair of pants with a valid receipt and was told by Cece that the return could not be processed because the tag was missing. Shortly afterward, my fiancé returned the exact same item under the same circumstances and his return was accepted without issue. The only obvious difference between us was that I am Asian and he is Caucasian. I cannot say why we were treated differently, but it was difficult not to question the inconsistency. Being denied while watching someone else receive different treatment for what appeared to be the same situation left me feeling embarrassed and singled out. I hope Lululemon reviews how its return policies are applied so that all customers are treated fairly and consistently. read more

My Go-To Lululemon Store! I've had such consistently great experiences at this Lululemon location that I had to leave a review! I ordered an item at full price on 11/14 and received it on 11/19... only for Black Friday to kick in on 11/20. I brought the unworn item (with the original tag still attached) into the store today, 11/21, to ask about a price adjustment. The team member processed the refund on the spot, straight back to my credit card: no fuss, no attitude, no hoops to jump through. Just super easy and friendly service! I've actually been in this store at least 4 times over the last week trying on a few things, and every visit has been the same: the staff is warm, helpful, and quick to check for sizes or help find something specific. They also assisted me while I was in the fitting room and proactively checked with me to see if I needed anything. Zero pressure, just genuinely good customer service. This has definitely become my go-to Lululemon store. I actually live in Millbrae and I'd rather come here because Burlingame charges for parking! Highly recommend this location for both the shopping experience and the customer care. read more

As a first time customer at this location I can honestly say I would never go back or suggest people of color to enter this store. You will immediately know you are not welcomed as soon as you enter. My children and I visited this store a few days before Christmas. My daughter was so adamant in wanting to look at new items. She loves lulu and because it was nearing Christmas we decided to take a look around. Once entering this store there is no greeting just awkward stares that seemed to question " why are you people in here?" As we walked around looking at the merchandise you could see glares coming from employees who never took time to ask if we needed any help or if we were looking for anything specific. As we walked pass employees on several different occasions they continued to engage with other customers, leaving us to look on our own. Unfortunately we didn't meet whatever standard they needed in order to engage with us. After browsing for some time my daughter decided on a Jacket, so we proceeded to check out. While waiting in line for the cashiers to finish up with other customers, my attention was drawn to how once a customer was done with there transaction the cashier would call out next please to those standing in line. Once it was our turn to approach the counter the young man never called out in our direction and seemed as if he didn't want to really engage with us. Although he did his job by ringing up our purchase, and asking if we wanted a bag, his communication seemed very forced. I also noticed the young lady next to him continously glaring at my daughter with a very unpleasant facial expression. Once out of the store I told my children that if Christmas wasn't in a few days I wouldn't have spent my money in that place. I just got really unwelcoming vibes and it made our experience very awkward. I understand people have a right to not like or think a certain way about a race of people based on whatever there beliefs. However once you clock in to your job that requires you to provide customer service you need to put your biases aside and do your job. Making sure each and every customer feels welcomed and their dollars are wanted in your store. If it wasn't for me wanting to get out of this awkward situation we probably would have spent 5x what we did but this store doesn't seem like its a store that wants people who look like me or my children as patron.. read more

I have been calling this store since yesterday over 30 times since they open until 3pm and not once they ever answer their phone! I placed an order for pick up in store and it says my order will be ready within 2 hours. It stated my order will be ready at 4:16pm and nothing I never received any updates other than placing my order throughout the evening. I called this morning once they open for 30 mins and no one answer and my order got cancel due to unfulfilled at 10:30am. This is terrible!!! I've been here once and definitely never using this store again! I'm 1 hour away so I need to ask question before I drive there. This is very horrible as a business. read more

I was buying a thank you gift for my cousin who loves lululemon and the staff was incredibly patient with me and helped me consider all options and color combinations based on her personality and what they thought would work well together. It was such a nice experience I bought some items online for myself when they had their sale. There was a tank top that I bought as a final sale that I actually needed in a smaller size. I went into the store to exchange it, although they did not have the particular tank top I was looking for, their sale was still going on and was able to exchange for 2 additional pieces I found/loved. Even before we all learned how we would adapt in this new world we now live in, I was slowly stockpiling my collection of casual, sporty, yet comfortable clothing pieces. After much trial and error, I came to the conclusion I just need to focus my resources on Lululemon apparel as they provided the most consistent design, desirable style language, and quality of fit and finish. Fast forward roughly 2 years later and my collection of Lulu gear is immense and the majority of it has come from this location, in the newly renovated section of Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo. My many experiences here have ranged from what you would expect from a retail establishment to amazing and above and beyond. Their physical space is a good size and if they do not stock what you're looking for, be sure to ask to see if they can order a particular item by calling around Lulu's other physical stores across the US. read more

This is likely my favorite Lululemon store in the entire Bay Area. They are a relatively new store in the recently built out expansion side of Hillsdale mall. There are restaurants and other shops sharing the same courtyard with lots of room for your furry friends and children to run around. This is a good sized store and I seem to find a lot of their popular items, and in my size, which is not always easy to find. Their dressing rooms in the back are open and nicely laid out. They recently also installed two large tablets, actually almost television size that are laid out in a vertical configuration. These tablets allow you to touch your way through their catalog and it gives you a really nice way to view their items. I have always had great customer service experiences in this store and they have always been friendly and eager to help me find what I'm looking for. read more

I came here last weekend; it was a Pop-up Store when I was there, so the selection may be a little limited. I was greeted by all of the employees there. I saw a pair of black leggings on the sales rack, but it wasn't my size. I tried it on anyway (along with other items that I was purchasing). However, it was a bit too loose for me. One of the employees was kind enough to check their system to find my size. Found out that the Burlingame location has it, but it wasn't on sale. She kindly asked them to match the price and held it for me to pick it up the same night. I drove to the Burlingame location right away and picked up the leggings, for the same sales price. I couldn't be happier. I overheard that they were moving to a permanent location at the mall soon; I'll be sure to come back and shop the next time I'm at the Hillsdale Mall. read more

This Review goes to Julia of this Lululemon located by Hillsdale mall; After an item from my in store pick up from another Lululemon location was cancelled, I went and called this location to try and see if they really do have it in stock (made a mistake prior; trusting the website's inventory for the other store, so I ended up having my order cancelled). My call was answered by Julia, really helpful and was able to locate and confirm that they do have the item i want. Placed an order for pickup and I was able to pick it up via contactless curbside pickup the next day. Sure enough; the person who went out and got my order to me was none other than Julia. She remembered me calling the day before! Really great attitude and was all smile (i could tell even w/ the mask on lol). It's really nice to see people who are extremely eager to help during these challenging times. Thanks again Julia! After my third attempt giving this store a chance, the service at this location is outright horrendous. Every employee here seems to hate their job. I would rather make the drive to Burlingame or even Palo Alto than spend my time and money at this store run by children. Excellent customer service does not involve treating every customer like a thief or a nuisance. Update: Palo Alto Store treats everyone equally and provides excellent customer service! Unfortunately, the store in its new location needs to implement some unconscious bias training. My wife loves LuLulemon, and I have spent a lot of money in the previous store and many others. This last visit to the store resulted in my wife being targeted by the attendant in the drawing rooms. All racial minorities ask is to be treated equally. If you have unconscious biases, recognize them and work to not succumb to them. My wife is a prestigious collegiate school graduate and a tenured financial industry professional leading teams. Don't be fooled by the "cover of the book" when you see her. I would recommend the staff receiving unconscious bias training to improve their knowledge of the subject and customer service skills. Most tech companies have deployed such training, which I would assume most of the customers shopping at this store are a part of. I hope this post helps them and others, so all shoppers at their store are treated equally. read more

came to the grand opening and they hosted a bunch of fitness events right outside the store in the artificial grass area. just so happens its christmas time so it was right in front of the christmas tree. super nice area to do yoga/barre/barrys bootcamp/HIIT classes. all free if you signed up. very generous and gave out freebies throughout the day as well. there was a photobooth in the front of the store with a dj too. i was hoping for some sale items or promotions but everything was full price. The store looks like most lululemons with guy and girl products. most colors and sizes available. employees were friendly and helpful. its located in the new side of the mall by the theater and bowling alley which is really well done. parking garage nearby. minus one star because they dont have a sale rack or sale area. read more

Horrible customer service. Expensive subpar products. Hole after 2 wears on first legging I bought. Sales team are very rude, obnoxious and condescending. When I tried to exchange a 2nd legging because it felt big on me when I tried it on at home, they told me that they need it with tags on, washed and with receipt. Who in the world washes the leggings with the tags on? Sales lady tried to give me her speech as if I should be thankful that she's making a one-time exception on their very dumb policy. I'm not going to put up with this. $133 leggings comes with attitude, below quality and oh yeah, a very racist CEO. I tried to see if the hype was worth it but NO WAY! Every time I come to this store location, I know I'll always be greeted with warm welcomes and bright smiles regardless of how busy the store is. While I seldom write reviews for retail stores, I definitely have to take some time for the kindness and authenticity that was given to me today by one of the staff members at this San Mateo branch, specifically Karissa. While I was just browsing and informed Karissa what I was looking for, she was attentive, authentic, and honest with the best new lululemon apparel I needed. I informed her that my previous LuluLemon materials did not last as long or former leggings would sometimes slide down. Her attentiveness and personality definitely stood out, as she was aware of my needs and got me the WunderTrain leggings. They were amazing material suggested, and I had walked out with more than what I expected. Lulu Lemon has gotten better with their staff experience to having more employees that care about their customers, and Im so glad that it shows. read more

Than I encounter a rushed horrible experience by one of the employee and from their a terrible experience has resonate with me. This is more favorite Lululemon store in the Bay Area. The parking was easy and plenty. There are many restaurant options on site. The mall area was very clean and modern. The LLL store has nice show room. The staffs/educators are very friendly and eager to help. Last weekend I brought 10 pairs of leggings for hemming. One of their educators Selina was very patient and helpful. Even though the store was pretty busy, she helped me in a timely fashion with smiles. I also feel they have one of the best on sale rack in the Bay Area. I guess it is because of their convenient location and high foot traffic. read more

It is so sad to see what this store has come to over the years. Their staff does not greet you when you come in the door. I waited 20 minutes before someone could help me and when I did ask for help, the girl helping me was rude and acted as if I was bothering her. Her name was Ria or Rie or something like that? Honestly not sure and don't care either. But to be working at lululemon and not have a sense of urgency or a sense of hospitality goes against the culture and values of the company completely. Not to mention that the store looked ATROCIOUS. Maybe the minimum age to be hired at lululemon should be bumped up to 21-22 rather than these young 18 year old's fresh out of high school who are entitled and only working at the store for the discount. this lululemon store is actually a temporary pop-up inside hillsdale shopping center...and a welcome addition it is! i was told that they opened in late spring and plan to be around until january 2019, after the holiday season. from a real estate perspective, this location is a bit smaller than the stores @ stanford shopping center, downtown palo alto, and burlingame, and also has less offerings. however, you can find all of the popular basics: yoga tops, leggings, yoga mats, and misc. accessories for both men & women here. they also have a nice selection of run clothing for the cardio enthusiast like me! it'll be interesting to see how this store stacks up to the competition as the year progresses...for now, i like the fact that it's not that crowded at this location, perhaps b/c the public hasn't heard about it yet? read more

My first time at this store location. No friendly service from employee at fitting rooms. I was waiting for a fitting room and she just stood there didn't ask me if I needed any help didn't take initiative to offer me a room. I asked her if she worked there. I was confused as to why she just kept looking at me without saying anything. She just said "yes". I asked her for a room and It was not busy she was just standing there avoiding me, bad vibes. Other stores I have been to have always been very friendly with offering me a room, offering to bring me different sizes for clothes I'm trying on. Came in to shop and I left without buying anything. I stopped in because I had a tear in the seam of my jacket, (Lululemon has always fixed or replaced my item in this situation) but, who I assume is the manager, decided on the spot that this time in particular this was "general wear and tear", and sent me out the door with no resolution. I stepped outside and called the Palo Alto store and they wanted to help me immediately. Palo Alto offered to either sew it, or replace it for free. Issue resolved, with no thanks to the staff at Hillsdale. I have never had such disappointing service at a lulu store before. read more

First off, I'm OBSESSED with lululemon. I swear by their align leggings as I've never had a problem with them pilling, they're lightweight and not see through. They're seriously the best!! I have been shopping with Aida for years now because she always knows exactly what I am looking for. I'm so glad she moved to the Hillsdale location as that store is more convenient for me. She not only introduced me to my favorite align pants but also sized me correctly (which is SO important). This whole time i've been wearing size 4 leggings, thinking they stretched out after washing them but NOO. I am a size 2! I would've never realized that if Aida didn't help me out.
