Although, we had to carry the big box through the store and down the escalator to the home department without any instructions at the front or staff offering any guidance. Hence the 4-star rating. To our surprise, when made it to the ground level, at the home department, looking wildly confused. A nice employee asked if we needed help. My family and I (myself, husband, and 3 children) visited from out of town over the weekend. We decided to refresh our wardrobes for our vacation so we stopped by Macy's in Arden. Most things were about 40 percent off which was great. However, Loss Prevention followed us around the WHOLE STORE. We bought $160 worth of cologne and proceeded to shop. In total, we spent approximately $700 on clothes, fragrances, and handbags. That was on the first day. We went back the second day for shoes. I decided to give this location a second chance because I do have an extensive background in the LP department and figured, " Strollers and my diaper bag are usually red flags but seeing as we have established ourselves as paying customers it will be different." WRONG. Same treatment. We spent even more money the second trip, which, I was completely against. However, my husband felt that since we were already there and the kids had already picked the things that they wanted... it would've have been unfair for them to put their items back and go someplace else. We are an African American family. The experience was uncomfortable to least. I never make a habit of leaving scathing reviews. However, this was just unacceptable. My daughter and son saw/felt the difference in treatment towards us. They were upset by it. My daughter was in tears in the car at being treated so unfairly. Also, the gentleman who assisted with our cologne purchase tried to sneakily upsale my teenage son on a gift set of cologne instead of offering him the gift set or smaller bottle in lieu of giving him a choice. I get it... you get base pay plus commission but don't try to do make your commission underhandedly. The bottom line: Treat your paying customers with respect! We are contributing to your livelihood with our purchases. Our patronage is the sole reason you have a paycheck. Stop racially profiling your guest! Trying to return something that was purchased before Covid and in perfect, unworn condition with receipt was refused because it is late for it's return date! Which is not surprising considering they were closed for nearly two months ! This is simply ridiculous! If that was not enough, the woman handling returns was rude ( not just to me) and very snarky. If Macy's wants return customers ( have had a Macy's card over a decade) especially when stores are closing down left and right, they better do something to show they actually value their customers and want their money. I recently found a new love for Macy's. I've never used to shop here but my style is slowly changing and Macy's is exactly what I've been looking for. I must say prices here are pretty high and extravagant but there quality of materials make up for it. I decided to order something from Macys online because of a birthday $10 perk. I selected a ring and added it to my cart. Then I decided to check on Klarma options to possibly space my payments out. When I went into my bag again to make payment arrangements, my item had a increased by about $20. This is totally unethical. I tried signing out and re-selecting my item and it was still at an increased price. I do not plan to shop on Macy's online site again because of this reason. I'm glad they took the jeans back I was wanting to return because tags were unattached. I intended to exchange them although they didn't have the size or color I was looking for at this location. I would have been ok if they refused the return as well. I also work part time at a retail store so I know how it is. Although the jeans I was returning was completely in sellable condition & still on the floors so I don't think the world was going to crumble when my return went through. The sales person who helped me didn't bother to greet or make any efforts to have decent customer service. Don't bother working in customer service if you can't greet or you're going to treat customers like you are the one doing them a favor. This Macy's is absolute garbage. There are little to no employees with any customer service skills. Your customer service counter on the bottom floor needs more training. They are an embarrassment. I am another person that has given this location dozens of chances to redeem before I posted, but today I've had enough. The curly haired, sour faced, Amy Winehouse eyeliner-ed 20 something millenial who spoke to me like I was trash because I came into the store with no makeup on and in my yard work clothes to quickly pay a bill. Generally speaking, it's a mess. You get anxiety walking through it because it's not the least bit tidy, and there are so many workers who don't actually help, they just stand there. I was desperate to see if Macy's had a pair of shoes in store, so I made the viral mistake of calling the store. The first employee I spoke with kept me on and off hold for 18 minutes and 30 seconds. Literally. She couldn't answer a basic question, and kept putting me on a long hold. Finally, a male employee answered and told me that they did not, in fact, have the shoe I was looking for. When I told him I had been on hold for so long, he did not even bother to offer an apology or anything - terrible customer service - instead, his response was "well, we had to see if we had the shoe." So before i applied I asked her if there will be a hard inquiry like a hard pull she asked someone else and this person told me no there won't be a hard pull but a soft pull. I told her are you sure? She said yes I have been working here for a while and none of the customers came to me saying that it wasn't a soft pull! I applied and guess what?! I have always wanted to have a great smoothie maker and finally decided to get one. I was so excited to get home with my new blender. The box was a little bent and opened but it was the last one on the shelf so I took it to the register and they said it should be fine. I got home and saw that the blender was already used! I am not a fan of shopping or the mall in general so I was not excited to go tonight, but needed a suit for an interview. I was very fortunate to have asked Lewis (in the men's suits department) for help, as he was on top of it like I've never seen before. Not only did he help a very difficult customer (me) pick out a suit, pants, tie, and few shirts... But he did so while being very professional and polite. Not to mention he was also juggling a few other customers, and yet he was still able to remember my measurements (I even had to ask him to remind me a couple times ) and checked his stock to find me the right sizes that weren't out on the floor. This level of customer service is the reason I go to Macy's. My wife purchased furniture from Macys ,dining tables and sofas, they also wanted us to get insurance when and if furniture breaks which I did. I am not a furniture maker but the furniture they have been making is inferior. Tables with no anchor for screws for the tables and chairs. Screws screwed directly into the wood and consistently become loose and fall out! Sofas are poorly made workmanship questionable fabrics and foams are poor overall total an inferior product, their smart though and cover themselves by providing insurance and by chance if it expire and you have a issue your out of luck I let my insurance lapse for one day and it was pretty much an oh well I wouldn't recommend Macys they used to be a top shelf store but really not now their relying on their past!! read more

Macy's has excellent selection and excellent staff to help you find the suit for you. Richard is very patient, knowledgeable, and gives honest opinion about the suits. Spent 1 hour to find a good suit for a great price. And the best part? If you get your suit before a certain time and granted they aren't backed up during wedding season, you can have your suit tailored and ready to wear within the same day! Great~ read more
