Most Macy's are similar, the company trains their employee's to go the extra mile and their easy breezy return policy is a fan favorite. I'm mostly writing this review because of the excellent customer service I received from Maryrose in the women's department last weekend. Went bra shopping with my mom here last week. Our associate, Tonya, was so fun and friendly. She gave us numerous options, suggested certain styles and fits, and was so informed on the different bra styles. We each bought a wacoal bra, spending about $100 total on 2 bras. Not only am I pleased with the purchase, I was incredibly pleased with Tonya's service! And turns out, she doesn't typically work in that department! read more

Purchased $500 worth of makeup from Lancome with the help of Yasameen, she was very helpful and patient with me even though I'm a usually picky person, and couldn't decide what I want, I told her what I liked and she gave me exactly that. Now every time I come to shop at Lancome, I always ask for Yasamee. She's definitely an asset to the Lancome company, and look forward to seeing her every time I shop at this location. I love our local Macys! The staff is always helpful and friendly. They always give you coupons if you don't have anyone with you. The staff in the lingerie department is very helpful. Thanks to JCP I had been wearing the wrong bra size for like 8 years. I asked the Macys ladies to help me out and now I finally have bras that fit properly. This review is only for the Mens Macys at the mall. Yes there are two different ones, one for all women stuff and one for men. I walked in looking for a unique neck tie and found the Mens Macys to be very neat and organized. Right at the door I asked a customer service rep where in the store can I find what im looking for and she walked me to the mens formal wear section instead of just pointing in the general direction. After walking me over to the right section the customer service reps in that section took over and helped me find exactly what I needed. The did stock checks in the back until I was happy with what I had. To top it off..it was on sale. So i saved about 60% and had a great fast experience here unlike some other department stores where I'll be walking around looking for something and there will be no one in sight to help you find what you need. read more

Better selection than Tracy's store. The beauty/perfume ladies are usually rude, so I go other places to purchase my items. I go here a few times a year and have found some amazing deals for quality garments. I shop at the men's and women's stores. I had a return that needed authorization that the associate Patty did not have, she went above and beyond to track down someone that could help me. I then had Christian come over and find a manager that could help me. I believe the managers name was Lorita(?) she was very kind and helped me with my return. Surprisingly decent selection in the Central Valley! Helpful staff and the store is small enough to navigate quickly. I swung through fragrance, shoes, handbags, sunglasses, and the INC ladies' department last Friday and was able to get everything I could ever want in about 90 minutes. I only go to buy perfume. I was there last Christmas, December 2016 and I purchased a bottle of Dior. All I have to say is, the pungent odor of desperation hung about the air. Customer service is a funny thing. Too little service is bad, but then again so is too much. To be fair, it was around Christmas. It was hard to shop because every few minutes a new person would bother me with a sample, a smell. I could not walk more than a few steps before I was asked yet again if I knew about their sale, or if I ever heard of some new fragrance. This was the first time I felt suffocated by too much customer service, desperate to make a sale. I will go back because I love perfume. I just wish they would give me breathing room when I shop. read more

I placed an order in the store on 1/21/15 my receipt said I was suppose to receive all my items by the 30th of January, however today is now the 2nd of February and one of my items is "MISSING". Macy's wants to credit me the amount back because it is no longer in stock however when I paid for it at the counter it was still available, THATS WHY I PAID FOR IT. And now that I am trying to track my package through the # I was given all I get is that the carrier has not gotten any of my tracking information so nothing is available. Worst experience of my life. I don't even get any phone calls regarding follow ups on my merchandise or nothing It's very frustrating all I want is the items I've paid for and I still don't even receive them after being days late from my promised date or any information with tracking my package. My mother purchased 3 pairs of shoes (and I even bought a pair of pumps previously). She was promised that she could return or exchange ones that did not fit right or please her. That experience was excellent. Good job to the redhead sales lady. However, when we were looking to exchange the two pairs for a more comfortable and affordable wedge, another sales person treated us with disdain, insisting that the comfortable shoe selection was "too expensive" for my mother (she's a size 5 so I'm sure she could've found other brands in various price ranges). She wouldn't even print out a receipt without prompting. Ultimately, we would like to take our business elsewhere. Miguel at MAC cosmetics was freaking amazing. I'm from San Jose and ran to vintage mall with my fiancé , I wanted to shop for a new highlighter and Miguel was so helpful. Very sweet and knowledgeable! I bought so much make up and NO he didn't pressure me, his customer service was so fantastic that I just wanted to keep shopping. lol I usually despise going to Mac stores especially where I'm from because make up artists there are usually pretty mean, rude and well .. vile! Just so snobby you can say. Miguel was so caring, he went the extra mile and gave me some great pointer/tips. Fantastic personality, his make up was flawless and they didn't have the lipstick in stock I so desperately wanted so he went out of his way to not only look for it, but hopped on his computer and called the Mac store down stairs to see if they had it available and they did. He called and asked if they could put one aside for me and they did. I'll be coming back to see him for not only make up to purchase but to have my make up done by him. I went into Macys with my two teenage daughters so she could spend her birthday money at benefit while I picked up a few things. As I made my purchase my girls were at benefit having their makeup session being done by two of their assistants. one of the assistants which was named (Anna- Hannah) not sure which exact name was helping my daughter. Turned out that "Anna" was actually the manager , she is an older woman which made her the pride of their customer service. As I walked up to watch my gals get their makeup done Anna looks at me when my daughter waved me over... Anna then looks at me and the first thing out of this idiots mouth was "you speak english".... Oh how I wanted to reply "dumb ass" does that answer your question. What kind of idiot says that to a customer... The other assistant which was a young gal had apologized for her managers stupidity in embarrassment,.I completely ignored Anna due that I like to teach my gals some ethical manners. I did call Chris the manager on many occasions with no reply to my voicemails. He finally called after I left a fierce voicemail stating that I am calling corporate, although I have not spoken with him I did have a conversation with a gal that stated he takes his messages and that he will call me immiediately due that this was not tolerated. Well no call yet as this has been a week now... I refuse to let the matter go and had also told the younger gal that I will refuse to shop macys again and am informing as many people as I can about the stupidity of their employee, I sure hope Chris reads this and knows how to respond to his messages. read more

I have never felt so unwanted in my entire life at a store. My sister and I were doing some shopping and decided to checkout Macy's to see what we could find. I really enjoy shopping at the Macy's in Stockton because of all the great selection and of course the MAC counter is always a plus. At first we were both oblivious to the following eyes until I took a break from all the "OOing" & "ahhing" at the cute tops I had found. I literally saw a man following us through the store which coincidentally had to rearrange all the clothes that were within 5 feet of us. So we then decided to go check out the makeup counters (where I usually feel right at home at) I was not even close enough to touch an item yet and I was given a look of pure disgust. After that my sister and I quickly realized every department we went through did not offer a smile but rather a "what are you doing here/ you can afford this" look. Really? It's Macys! I didn't realize I was on Rodeo Drive all the sudden. I am not a millionaire but as I stated before I frequent Macys often and never had to think twice about purchasing an item there due to it being out of my price range. I still really enjoy Macys but I will NEVER go back to this one because of the snooty employees there. read more

I use to work at Macys Modesto, and have continued to be a loyal customer since. I've always had a pretty good experience when shopping both Mens and Womens until recently... I rarely venture to Mens Macys, but decided to pick up some new things for my husband for his birthday. The girls in the Mens Department were fantastic, great customer service. Very helpful in selecting sizes, etc. While I continued browsing the racks, I witnessed two male Managers basically berating two seperate sales girls on the sales floor. Might I remind you that I use to work for Macys for almost 2 years, and never experienced such an unprofessional display of "coaching" or whatever you want to call it. I was so appalled at the rude, condescending words spewed from these "so-called" managers, I dropped my stuff and left, but not before I walked by to glimpse at there name tags. Ivan and Bernard, on RED name tags, which means management, at least it did when I worked there. I'm so completely disappointed to see the lack of respect for employees that work so hard and were giving excellent customer service. Whatever the issue may be, how unprofessional to repremand an associate in front of customers, this is NOT the professional atomosphere I remember Macys use to represent. Macys should be embarassed to have these two men representing management..... It's apparent they are two men that think they are too good at their jobs so they choose to treat the people that are the FACE OF MACYS like worthless nobodies. Shame on you Macys. This review is solely for the MAC kiosk that sits outside of the women's Macy's. Completely horrid service. Went in Friday night with a list of items to purchase, I was planning on spending some serious cash. After being ignored by two girls who were chatting amongst themselves about some "shit talking bitch" (in their words) and what time they were getting off, I was FINALLY greeted by another girl who was in the midst of a making over a customer. She corrals one of the gossiping hens and tells her that I need help. Obviously I cut into social hour because she rushed the hell out of me. The gloss is there, eye shadow there and so on and so forth. No help picking out a color, no assistance with the brushes NOTHING!!! I grabbed a shadow and while she was ringing me up I shouted (to get her attention) that I wasn't done and needed a gloss and a few more items. The gloss picking was a chore for this lazy biotch, after that I was done. Ordinarily I would've told her to shove her recycled make-up pots where the sun doesn't shine, but I was in dire need of some new black shadow. I've contemplated taking the items back just so she doesn't get the commission. There was absolutely no one around, and it wasn't like she in the midst of a rush. Went to furniture section to purchase mattresses but could not get help the ladies that were working were to busy with talking to each other. I guess they must of thought I was not a real buyer? So I ended up going across the way to sleep number and spending $13800 on 5 mattresses that same day thinking to myself how much more $$ do these ladies cost Macy's? Well about a week had gone bye and I went in there again today this time looking at couches and haha guess what 2 ladies were in there paying no attention to me again? I stood around for 10 minutes when I finally got a lady from a different section who was going on break who offered to call one of the ladies for me, she then came up too me as if I had interrupted her from her conversation. The worst!!! Store is always sloppy and unorganized. Drove 85 miles to shop there for shoes for my 85 year old mother. Found the shoes but did not have her size. They assured me they had them at another store and would ship them out ASAP. I paid extra to get them inasmuch as mom needed them for an event . The order came but was someone else's shoes. Called Macy's and they apologized and said they would send the correct shoes out immediately. Then got a cal today telling me that I would not receive the shoes because of system error??? I said will let me go down to the store and pick them up and she told me I could not do that either. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was put on hold for 41 minutes and still to no avail. What has happened to Macy's? The customer service is pathetic. read more

Wedding registry: I recently got married and when deciding where to register i thought that Macys would be the place for me. The consultant was very pleasant and nice but didn't do much aside from smiling at us. We didn't receive any help in any department and no one had answers to the questions we asked (ex: why is this set of pots and pans better than that one?) anyone we spoke to acted like we were inconveniencing them. Today, I returned about 6 items that I ended up not wanting. We were helped with transporting out "heavy" load bit when we got to the register the lady said "What's all this?" (irritated voice) we kindly said that we needed to return things from our registry. She preceded to be cranky and asked what she was suppose to do with the lamps we were returning that were in plain boxes. My response: I don't know that's how they were shipped to us. Hers: well i guess we'll have to put them as damaged. Really!? I don't care what you do with them! Just give me the credit! Anyway, we went to Bed Bath & Beyond next with many more gifts to return and guess what? They didn't even give us a second look. So accommodating, also, registering was awesome and they had people who knew what the products were. Macys you've been around how long? I have shopped in the Modesto store for nearly 10 years and I will NOT go back again! Many of the clerks stand around and speak Spanish and then act as if helping me with a purchase is interrupting their conversation. This is the USA and until Macy's starts paying them in pesos when they are on duty, they should speak English. I completely understand speaking Spanish if a customer does not speak English and while they are on break but please have a little respect for the rest of us. Many of the other clerks feel this is wrong. Their families came here for a better life so respect what's here. I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

Going to purchase a suit for my grandson this afternoon. Have decided to forego Macy's and shop at Men's Warehouse. Macy's is now operating without any customer service.
