It was nice to finally walk into a store that my boyfriend could find some clothing items that fit him comfortably. I like the way that the store was set up an arranged it was pretty welcoming and clean. Everything is pretty easy to fine. They also had some good deals that they ran. They also offer a rewards program for every dollar that you spend so that's another added bonus with interest of returning. The young lady that assisted us was very informative and attentive to the items that we picked and ensuring that the sizes that we picked with the correct ones that we wanted. We definitely see ourselves returning maybe like once every month or so just to kind of get his wardrobe established. Been a customer for many years. I've lived in several different cities from the east coast to the west coast. DXL always has a wide variety of clothing, From formal to casual. My favorite slacks are the Harbor Bay brand. Yes they are pricey, but they last for years. I have several pairs of HB's that are 10 years old! Loved the employees! Two were working on the particular day that I went in, and EACH one of them went above their expected duties. It was my first time into this DXL and one of the ladies showed me around the different sections of the store and described what each entailed (ie, sports, professional etc). As I was going through one of the sections, having a tough time deciding on shirt choice (and sizing difficulties as item was a b-day gift for a friend), the store manager, amazingly, showed me additional merchandise that had not been displayed, yet! Went in to purchase some new outfits for the mother of all vacations with my wife to Las Vegas which included a meet and greet with Rascal Flatts. Wanted to look sharp, and utilized the advice of the sales associates when trying things on. Snatched up a very nice black Robert Graham button up shirt amongst many other things. When we had the meet and greet, Gary says "nice Robert Graham" as I walked around the corner LOL. Had a similar interaction with one of the artists from the Blue Man Group when we did the backstage event as well. When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, people notice. You figure that someone walking into a retail store that sells Ralph Lauren, to at least acknowledge a customer that walks in wearing ALL RALPH LAUREN POLO!! But nope not today not in Modesto California where my family and I just went and did not one greeting. There was a staff of three working, one was helping a customer and one folding clothes and the other came out the back. Out of three employees not one person acknowledged myself or my family, however the customer right behind us (about2 minutes later) . Had to do last second clothes shopping for Thanksgiving. Being a bigger guy, headed to DXL in Modesto. I was greeted by Shami. She was heaven sent. She made me feel at ease, was super patient and not at all pushy. I told why I there and it was smooth sailing from there. Not only she understand what I wanted but was very instrumental is matching pants to shirt, belt to the both of them and so on. First of all I liked that they cater to their cliental. The store is kept nice and cool, smelling nice and has sports playing in the shoe section. Went in with sweetheart to find him a tshirt or button up and left with a gorgeous grey pinstriped shirt that flattered his shape (some stores men plus lines fail at that) We were helped by a friendly blonde associate who gave us her time even tho we were small buyers ($46 shirt only) Will recommend for the bigger men I know who may want friendly service vs. being an after thought at major department stores. read more

I actually came here with my husband to find undershirts and came out spending $150+ the clothing at this store is really nice quality! The clothing seems to be thick material (not cheaply made) We were greeted by a very nice gentleman named Tony, if you go there ask for him if you have any questions!! He gave us a tour of the store and stayed near by if we had any questions (which we had a ton) the store is nice & clean! They carry a little bit of everything there (shorts, pants, ties, dress shirts, polos, pj's, boxers, tanks, compression shirts, socks etc.) a few different brands to name, mostly their brand which is Harbor Bay! I will definitely shop here again to suit my husbands needs, the prices are a bit high....but I guess you pay for what you get! Extremely helpful staff, not pushy. I did buy more than I intended to based on recommendations from my salesperson but I never felt pressured. I'm in sales myself and I appreciate their style. I bought two suits and both needed to be tailored. I also got 3 shirts, 2 ties, and some new shoes. They helped me find coupons that applied to my purchase and I saved some money. The tailoring was good, I got the 'permanent' crease for the slacks but I don't feel like it's really lasting. Not a big concern, it was only a few bucks. I almost forgot what customer service meant until I visited Destination XL in Modesto, CA. They are very KNOWLEDGEABLE, Friendly, Reasonably priced, GREAT QUALITY of clothing and go far above and beyond to make sure you leave with clothes that fit and that LOOK GOOD! It's like having your own personal Hollywood Clothes Stylist. Walked in looking for a good, nice fitting pair of work pants for my son and left with exactly that and then some as this store has clothes THAT ACTUALLY are for the XL and Tall and you can try it on and take them home (same day) because we all have to admit that stores just don't make these sizes available and most of your XL and Tall shopping are done online, where you have to wait for it to ship only to find out that it's nothing of what you anticipated it fitting and looking like, Now you have to ship back and wait and wait and wait......Josh was GREAT and my son and I would like to personally Thank him for his knowledge, attention to detail and personal needs as well as his eye for style!!!!! This use to be a store that I shopped frequently- that is up until today. I bought two pairs of jeans at this location and I was in between two sizes so I went with the larger size. I wore these jeans inside the house and they were too big. I brought them back 3 days later for a possible exchange or refund if I didn't find anything. The "Manager" took one look at the jeans with my receipt and declined the refund because the jeans he said had been worn. I explained that I only worn them in the house on carpet. Eventually he said that he would return one pair but only offered an exchange on the other. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store and the old store location across the street over the years. I have recently spent several hundred dollars that this same Store Manager sold and he proceeded to argue with me returning a pair of $69.99 jeans. I asked to speak with the Regional Manager and he left a voice message with her. She called back and the Store Manager gave me the refund with an attitude. Well, at least someone in DXL chain of command has some good business sense. I will never shop there again. Be sure you don't need a refund because no matter what the company policy states all sales are final according to this Store Manager. read more

horrible customer service I purchased my husband some shorts they were to short for him he exchanged them and had to go to work so he didn't try them on at the time we ended up paying an additional 10$ more for the exchange my husband still wasn't happy with the shorts so went in the store to return them for them to tell him they could only refund him the 10$ when we actually paid 75 + for them B.s he had the debit card they were purchased on original tags never worn and the original receipt monica josh and tony really need to learn some customer service they sure do treat you with kindness when they want your money we have been shopping here since it was Burts Big &tall we were treated unfairly for no reason hope you guys learn to treat customers read more
