I purchased a blue top for myself thinking the sizing would be true. I found it runs small. I went to hopefully exchange it and was told no refund or exchange. The sales associate told me it was a "last act" item and refused to do anything. I asked where it says no return or exchange, she showed me a small abbreviation that being very small that I couldn't see it . When I purchased it nothing was said about "last act" the rack they were on didn't say sales are final. It's not about the amount of the item, it's about retailers secretly screwing the public. I wonder how many more consumers are being duped by Macy's. Maybe we can stand together and make them stop defrauding the public . Pictures will show my point. Quick road trip to meet my college aged daughter for a shopping trip to hopefully find the perfect Sorority Spring formal gown. Started at Macy's not thinking we'd find much but ended up pleasantly surprised by the varied selection of more formal gowns in a variety of sizes available. Multiple dressing room try on sessions later, we found "the one" jewel toned rose and perfect except for needing alteration to shorten the length! Yay! Very helpful customer service, friendly check out staff, and we had extra time to shop then grab dinner together since the formal gown search was surprisingly easy and took less than an hour! read more

So the last time I bought a winter coat, I did so at Macy's. It was lovely. I needed a new coat, so I went back to Macy's. I looked in the plus sizes, no coats. Maybe they just combined their coats. Nope. No plus sized coats in ladies' coats. I go back to plus sizes. Nope. I then saw a lead coaching an associate and walked up. I asked where the plus sized coats were. The two of them, in a condescending manner, pretended to look around the department without moving. Then said, "I'm sorry we don't carry those. You'll have to go online." I put a big smile on my face and spoke in a positive tone, because the discrimination isn't their fault. And I told them that I'd spend my money elsewhere and that, pardon my French, but Macy's could get fucked. I will be replacing my coat at a competitor. read more

This was an unusual store in that there is also a Macy's Home store in the mall at a different location. I mostly looked at the men's clothing and found nothing unusual or great. It seems fairly spread out across the sales floor, but there was an electronics sales cabinet, and next to that, there seemed to be women's clothing, though the store seemed to stop not far from there. It made me wonder what was on the lower level, and now, I wonder why I didn't look further...something about my migraine. I didn't talk to any of the employees, and I don't remember talking to them on other visits. I like Macy's because they have the same brands across stores and they certainly solidified the Macy's name by taking in Bamberger's, Burdines, Rike's, Shillito's, Lazarus, Robinson-May, etc. etc. etc. I can always depend on Macy's because of what they have. read more

Jewelry department is sketchy. y girlfriend purchased a pair of gold earrings during Christmas time. She was told these earrings were 100% REAL GOLD, but they lied. The earrings were sterling silver with gold platting and the sales lady was misleading as we were looking for real gold. We would've took our money elsewhere had we known we were getting ripped off. To top it all off, the earrings are ALREADY broken because they were made so cheap. I'm not happy at all and will not be purchasing any jewelry from Macys anymore. Beware of fake sales people and fake jewelry. Research BEFORE you make a purchase. read more

This is a review of Macy's Home - furniture gallery. I recently purchased a couch and love seat set from this Macy's location and was impressed with the level of service. I had always been under the impression that Macy's was out of my price range, but stopped in on a whim one Saturday. I was surprised at the far superior selection - much more classy designs and much better constructed/manufactured. I was most surprised with the prices - they were comparable or less than the other "discount" stores I had been shopping (Morris, Value City, Furniture Fair). On top of the competitive prices - I also got 12 months same as cash financing, 15% off for opening a Macy's account, and FREE delivery! I was so excited at this find. The only downside was that the sales team in very understaffed at this location. There seemed to be only one sales rep with about 8 different customers wanting to make a purchase or inquiry, so I did have to wait awkwardly for a decent amount of time and fight off a few other groups for the sales guy's attention. I brought my dad and friend back since then in their furniture searches and the same was true - just not enough reps. I was also extremely pleased with Macy's home delivery. Two movers came and did a phenomenal job moving my new purchases into my home. They were very courteous and knew exactly what they were doing. They put down a rug and used shoe covers so that they didn't trek dirt into my house. They also made sure not to scratch my new hardwood floors when setting up and moving in. Also, they were on time and gave me a two hour window for delivery, so that I wasn't sitting home all day waiting. I would definitely make another purchase from Macy's. Good stuff! read more

Well, the person who helped me was very nice and patient with me while I was making up my mind. The item I bought was on sale, and rang up incorrectly. This was quickly remedied by sales associate. In the course of checking, I mentioned that I had recently made a purchase on the Macy's website, and she mentioned that they would price match the website if there was something cheaper online. I know they probably make commission, but she really went above and beyond expectations for a low dollar amount sale. If I were just rating the service, it would have been 5 stars. Unfortunately, the prices are just too high. It doesn't make sense to shop here unless the item you want is on sale. When they do put items on sale, they are very reasonably priced. I've also never had any quality issues with items I've purchased from them. read more

I have been shopping at Macy's on and off for many years (ever since JCP customer service stopped being great). Usually I can go in and find everything that I am looking for or ask an associate for help. Well today I just can't say that. I went in to shop for ladies work attire (suits mainly) and found almost empty racks. In the past there had been two register areas in the ladies department and one in the athletic wear. But not today. The shoe department is usually pretty busy and offers a huge selection. Today that wasn't the case either. Strangely enough half the store looked like it was being shut down. One of the two register areas was gone, the other so busy it looked like Christmas time. The shoe department started to look the same way. The clothes are cute, but Macy's has got to bring back their A game, otherwise this store will soon close. read more

I don't know why I expected stellar service at the Florence Mall but I at least expected to be able to find someone to give me service. I walked the sales floor 3 times trying to find someone to ring me out so I could leave. Once I went to ring out my purchase there was one family in front of me. It took that family 15 minutes to check out with less than 5 items. The line was 5 people long & they only had one register open on the entire bottom floor with over 10 associates walking around putting items back on the shelves. Another woman sat on the phone , ignoring her line of customers. This same woman went to ring out my dress purchase & accused me of replacing the price tag with another sticker. The dress had been marked with a $16 sticker and rang up for $50... I was extremely disappointed in my entire experience. The sales floor was messy, unorganized, clothes were strewn all over the floor, unsized, dressing rooms were filled with empty hangers and ripped off tags from theft. Not a good experience. This comment is only for the jewelry section of Macy's. Anytime I come there is only 1 person working in the jewelry department and it takes FOREVER to find someone to help you. Then once they've helped you it takes 15-20 minutes to check out. I've literally been standing here for 15minutes lol it's never an easy process!! I was shocked that women can no longer buy shoes unless they are a Med width. What do you do if you're a narrow like me? Tie the shoes on with strings so they don't fall off? My daughter is a wide--does she cut slits in the sides so they don't pinch her feet? Or is their long term plan that all baby's feet are bound right out of the womb so they grow up to be a medium width? This is really crazy! Whose idea was this? It is about 45 minutes to get to the Macy's in Florence, so it's a destination. I needed to go as I had an event right after work and bought a new top. In addition, bought the present at Macy's as well. Two birds in one store!! However, when I went to put the new shirt on, the security tag was still attached!!!! Didn't want to ruin the top, so I had to wear the dirty t-shirt that I had worked in a barn all day wearing. To make things even better the gift that I bought for my friend ALSO had the security tag attached! How embarrassing! Thanks a bunch Macy's employee!!! read more
