portrait service I get it, it's Christmas time and they were busy but the photographers rushed us and didn't even care if the photos were good. didn't let us see the pictures to see if we wanted to retake it. the one photo was only focused on my face and not both of ours. they acted like the price was normal, nope. way overpriced for just a couple pictures. made us wait forever just to review the pictures and made us feel stupid when we didn't even know the prices and we had to only pic a few. I'm not paying $170 for 10 pictures that weren't even taken decent. read more

At first, the store seemed clean; with wide aisles. The more we looked the more the cleanliness of some of the things bothered me. We found shirts in the men's section with stains on them. There was a sweater in the women's section with gum on it. The first fitting room I tried did not properly close. I would expect this in a thrift store, not a department store. Selection was better than expected. Prices varied greatly for very similar items, even within the same brand. Some of their sales were competitive. Their pricing reminds me a lot of Kohl's. Every department seems to have designated clearance areas. Customer service was fine. We were greeted while walking around. The cashiers were a bit pushy about signing up for their loyalty program and their credit card. read more

The girl taking our pictures took no time and care. Didn't even allow us to look the pictures. Half the pictures were trash and blurry. Also they made us feel stupid about the pricing when we had no idea. There was no effort in our picture when there pricing for it is outrageous, if your taking pictures for that price at least put some effort it! Yikes. The customer service here is horrendous. Sunday late afternoon my husband and I go in there so he can purchase a particular dress shirt that he has purchased several times. We scoured the tables and can't find it but see employees folding shirts. He asks them where he can find the specific brand and style and the guy said "ugh, if we have it it will be on that table behind the rack of ties". And then pointed. Anyone who has ever worked in retail knows you don't point, you walk the customer over. So not only could the three of them not be bothered to stop folding shirts and talking, they couldn't be bothered to find a manger who could help. We watched this also occur with an older couple who was purchasing suits. We spent time in the area matching shirts and ties and proceed to watch another girl come over, bringing a total of 4 to the area for folding. Then a female supervisor who came over with them to discuss anime. I literally stood within inches of them and didn't get a "can I help you find something?". Nothing. But I did get to hear about how one manager was so busy that one of the girls didn't even properly go through the orientation (you don't say?) Even after all of this, my husband buys the shirts and asks to speak to a manager. He waits several minutes and finishes his order before speaking with the manager which is fine b/c the intent was to bring up the poor customer service, not to get anything. It took the manager Michael awhile to finally make his way up and my husband explained how he had to ask for help with a particular shirt and wasn't helped but the employee literally pointed to an area that MAY have the shirt he wanted. Michael said "yeah, the customer can ask for help if they need it but they shouldn't have to". No kidding. There were more employees working than customers and when this starting occurring, it was still 2-2.5 hrs until close. My husband couldn't believe the insincere and total disregard for our experience that he initially said it would probably be his last time back since we literally drive out of our way to come here. Michael was like "eh" so my husband responded with "it will be my last time" and to get the last word in, Michael said "yeah, ok". As we walked back to the car and talked more about this, the more in shock we were because brick and mortar stores aren't surviving as it is and then this was the attitude of the manager. Out of principle, he walked back in and returned the clothes he purchased. A female manager did speak to my husband when he returned the items and had an apologetic attitude but Michael should work on that. We'll take our money to the Men's Wearhouse or Dillard's. read more

Parked on the second level to make my way specifically to the Portrait Studio. The upper level is the children's section and it was a disaster!!! The messiest I've probably ever seen in a retail store. Piles and piles of clothes at random laying every where. Shelves, floors, end caps; cluttered mess everywhere. Once I made it back to the studio, I waited for a few until a very nice lady came back to get us started. I had made an appointment a few days beforehand and received a courtesy reminder call, which was nice. I brought a few of my own props and the photographer was very accommodating. She even helped me assemble a banner I made at home. We quickly got started on the session and she was very good with my 18 month old. Extremely happy with the way they interacted. All of those photos hid part of the banner, which was disappointing but not too big of a deal. The unfortunate part is, the photographer I assume was waiting for a group of guys, maybe her own kids. They showed up during the middle of our session and completely distracted my little one. I think because of that, our session ran short because she know longer was interested in the camera. Sad that we didn't get a little bit more time, even like 5 minutes. Overall, it was pleasant. She quickly loaded our pictures and was accommodating with my coupons. I could tell that ever since the group of guys showed up, she seemed hurried along. Forgetting to tell me my pick up date until I mentioned it. This was sorta a test with JCP studio because I had a not so fun experience in Eastgate. Will I be back to Florence? Probably not, mostly because it was so messy and first impressions matter! read more

I could not find the salon specifically but i love this place. My grandma gets her hair done once a week, every week. It keeps her out and let's her talk to people and they are always nice to her and take care of her here. I appreciate Tandy doing her hair every week. They always do a wonderful job here and the other ladies are so nice. I enjoy coming with my grandma to get her hair done and all the other women are always very nice and greet me every time I am here with her. It is always a pleasure to be here and make my grandma happy. I appreciate all the ladies here. Keep up the great job ladies. read more

JCPenney Portrait: Worst portrait experience I have had! James had me continuously try to sit my 3 month old baby up when I repeated she does not sit up unassisted which resulted in pictures with my wrist and hand in pictures. I had to wait 30 minutes for my 7pm appointment, my appointment felt rushed (15 minutes total). I told him I did not want to be in any pictures prior and during the photo session he asked me to get in after telling him no. He does not listen and the customer service is subpar at best. Please do not waste your time at this studio. Book elsewhere. read more

JC Penny Jewelry- the sales associate was nice and my fiancé says she was helpful. This review is on the product, my engagement ring. JC Penny, way to make my engagement memorable.. In the most negative way possible. The day after I accepted his proposal, I had to get my ring sized down, as they sell all rings the standard of 7. Two weeks later, I get my ring back. The very next day, a diamond fell out! I was still excited and showing my ring off to everyone. Two days after that, I lost another diamond. I really wanted to cry because I already had to wait two weeks after the proposal for a resizing. No way I wanted to wait another two weeks to have diamonds put back in! So disappointing. I apologize for the length of this post. I'm not one that normally does not write reviews unless the service is beyond what is expected. However, in this case it is just the opposite thus my review: Let me start off saying Margee the hair stylist I had at JCP Salon was amazing! She did an awesome job on color and cut of my hair and for that alone she should have received 5 stars, but I'm choosing to only give them 1 star for the extremely poor service and attitude I received when paying for my service. I called and made my appointment on Sunday November 19th for an appointment for a haircut (Birthday present from my children). At the time I scheduled I informed them that I had their $50 cut and color coupon for the appointment. I was told that the coupon only worked with two of the stylist and booked me with one of them for today November 29th (my Birthday). I was asked how long my hair was and I told her down past my bra strap. (At no time did she inform me that my longer hair was an extra $15) This morning I received a phone call from Glenna the manager at JCP Salon telling me that my stylist wasn't coming in today, but they could put me with Margee. I said that way perfectly fine since I hadn't been to the salon previously. The appointment went great and I was extremely pleased with my hair until everything went down hill when checking out. The receptionist told me that my coupon was could not be used with Margee because she was a senior stylist. I informed them that I told the person that I made the original appointment with that I had the coupon and she put me with the appropriate stylist, but this morning I had gotten a phone call telling me that my stylist wasn't coming in today and they put me with Margee. So she calls the manager Glenna and tells her of the scenario and that I want to talk to her. Glenna the manager comes out and tells me that the coupon is only for 1st time clients. I said I was a 1st time client and Glenna says Margee said she had done my hair before. I told her no I've never been to JCP to get my hair done. Glenna tried to blame me for the entire miscommunication stating that I should have informed her this morning that I had a coupon (as if I the client who was being given an alternative due to stylist I was scheduled with could not come to work should be held responsible). I told her that I told the person I made the appointment with that I had the coupon and she put me with the correct stylist I also told her that I had no way of knowing that they don't put important information into the computer system. She Glenna had to point out that I had had long hair and that is an extra charge of $15. I told her that I told the person on the phone how long my hair was and she never indicated to me that there would be an additional charge because of my hair length. She then proceed to tell me that the stylist works on commission and there is no way that she could charge me $50 for that stylist. She said she could charge me $65 and asked me if that was fair as if I had a say so in it. (Fair would have been for JCP to charge me the $50 that I was expecting to pay and to give the stylist her full commission and for JCP to eat the difference). When I told Glenna that I was going to give a bad review she shrugged her shoulders as if it didn't have any effect on her. Owning a small business that provides services I would never treat my clients with such attitude and tone. I hold my business accountable for any miss-communications and failure to properly document or provide proper price guidance. read more

I'm writing with specific attention to the JCP Portrait Studio at this store. I love them. I've been going at least once every 3 months since my daughter was born. They offer great photo packages, the staff is kind, friendly and great with kids, and their service is always top notch. My pictures always turn out better than I'd hoped for. So why the 3 stars? Until my last visit, this past weekend, I had been enjoying portrait sheets for $4. This weekend I took my daughter for her Easter pictures and the price went up 150% to $10 a sheet! That's about standard, so I'm not complaining about the price (though I don't like it), but about the fact that no notice in price increase was given to loyal customers! So while I love this place, I'll be doing a little less in terms of professional pictures because my budget was around the $4 sheets, not the $10 and I don't appreciate HUGE price hikes without notice. read more

This place does upset me when they try to organize everything, because I was already used to their old way of being "unorganized." lol. I really don't care if they're unorganized though because I never go in with an idea of what I want, I just browse and find good deals which they always have. They always have really good sales, plus I get coupons in the mail all the time. As long as the price is right, I don't care how unorganized a place is, or how unhelpful the workers are. I personally don't want workers to come up to me and ask me if I need help. If I ever have a question, the workers at the counter are more than happy to help. i worked here and left because abby and ticker do not treat their employee's with respect. i left here because i truly did not believe that i was wanted in this company and took up as much a slack as i could always did what i was told and even did other people responsibility's when i was supposed to work in home by myself. i worked here for about a year and a half never got a raise and new managers opinions matter more than mine. i was informed that nathan a old manger that used to work for this establishment would have asked f or me to come back but knew i could do better. he was correct about that. read more

This place is pretty expensive for what it is. Two pairs of socks for $10 is pricey in my opinion. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. I understand that it had an odor. It's a bathroom. But the seats were covered it poop, there was trash overflowing, what looked like to be poop smeared on the wall above the trash can, and boxes of something just sitting in the hallway. In the exterior hallway the wall was torn up and looked to have been like that for a while. This store also has insane lines and not very nice people working the very limited check out counters. There used to be a counter in every section. Now there are only four in the whole store, two downstairs and two upstairs. At Christmas time, that makes the lines insanely long. I was in line for over 10 minutes just trying to return something, and there were four people working the counter. They need help in all departments it seems read more

Dont shop at jcpenny optical. They have inferior product. The prices they quoted me for options did not match prices they actually charged me. Then got my glasses and couldnt see intermediate or read. My doctor check my lenses and jcpenny did not use brand of lenses that I was told would be put in my glasses. Had to talk to many managers and was lucky to get my money back and not stuck with product that I couldnt use. Careful you only have 24 hours to return product even if charged to much and you dont receive what associate says you will. Go elsewhere. read more

So I couldn't buy shoes at Macy's because they only sell Med. widths, then the same thing at Penneys - what is this? Did all dept stores declare war on women's feet? So we're all supposed to be the same size? I wanted to buy narrow for myself, then wide for my daughter. Penney's lost two shoe sales and I won't go back. The salespeople confirmed that they could sell all kinds of shoes if they had other widths. This is crazy! What person suddenly declared all women had to have the same width of feet? How dumb are the shoe buyers anyway? Are they all mediums...I can't believe they are. Is this customer service - I don't think so.
