Still, I am treated as though I were buying the most expensive thing in the shop. Just yesterday, I bought a pair of jeans with the expert advice of shop co-owner Tessa and had a great experience. She pulled extra pieces for me to try on and recommended the pair that fit best. With this selection and service, Idlewild is a great reason to shop small and local.

I've struck up converstations that go beyond fashion and have learned about the OTR and design from the women who work at Idelwild. My first time in, I learned about Brush Factory (now just on-line). And went on to buy some furniture there before they closed the brick and mortar. My second time in, I learned all about buying trips to Paris and New York, clothing lines and designers I hadn't known before. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful they have been.

Although I did find out that they were getting ready to have a nice clearance sale to send out the spring/summer clothes and transition to fall/winter. The last day of the sale they actually did a bag sale. I made it in on one of the sale days and bought some nice clothing at a more reasonable price. They also had some decor items. The store is fairly small but they packed it full of good shopping. I also found a pair of shoes that I liked. I actually paid more for them than I would have liked but they were unique. I am sure I will stop in again. I may make it when they are transitioning over to spring to pickup some deals on winter clothes.

But I did find the employees bickering with each other over how to set up their ring light and technology so they could go live on Facebook and sell virtually. This should not be done during store hours, or should be done in a backroom where customers who are physically in the store aren't treated like second class citizens to your Facebook lives. Clothes were packed heavy on racks, so I can't imagine they get much business on the sales side.

These are not your everyday sneakers! There are so many designs you won't find anywhere else. I have now been back to the Unheardof store multiply times. Each time finding more cool shoes and some very unique shirts as well. The customer service is always excellent! What also makes me recommend the store is the reasonable pricing. But that probably would have cost me a lot of money over the years. A specific pair of shoes brought me in and even though they didn't fit the way I liked I quickly found another pair. I ended up purchasing a nice pair of brown leather Nikes. The selection of shoes consists of skater and hip hop style sneakers from brands like Vans, Nike, and Adidas. They appear to carry limited edition styles from all the brands. Before I left the store I looked around at some of the clothing. There were t-shirts, hoodies, jogger pants, and jackets that followed in the same athleisure style as the shoes. There was even a small discount section in back where I found an awesome Alpha Industries flight jacket for half off. As soon as I tried it on I knew that I couldn't live without it. They carry both men's and women's merchandise, however, the selection for men is noticeably larger. The women's selection is similar to men's in both brands and styles. Unheardof also has it's own brand of clothing. I noticed that one section of the wall was covered in skateboards so I assume those were for sale as well. The store is clean with a hip boutique feel and lots of colors and open space that feels welcoming and makes it easy to shop. The employee that helped me was nice, helpful, and polite. I had a great experience and will definitely be back.

I was walking around Ludlow trying to find somewhere to pick up a pair of sandals, and not having…read moremuch luck -- saw some shoes in the window of this place so figured I'd at least stop in. Well, I didn't get any sandals, but 45 minutes later I happily walked out of there with sheepskin boots, a pair of alpaca socks, some knitted wool mittens, and a lot more knowledge about sheepskins, rug making, and how to choose sheepskin boots. I probably would've left with more if I hadn't been called away for something. Greta is really great - so thorough and helpful, but not in a "sales-pitchy" way. If you are looking for a place to shop that has unique fines that are picked up from different designers, this is your place. I love the different options that they have to offer. Now, they are pricey! It is not your typical Boutique where are you can get a shirt for $30. But on the flipside, their items are definitely high-quality and as I mentioned unique. What I really like about this place also is you can take your items home and try them on However you would normally wear them. They take down your card number and will give you a call the next day to see what you thought. If they don't hear from you, they will charge you for all of the items (or if you like them of course) or you can bring them back as long as it's in the 24 hour. I don't know of any places that do that, but I will for sure keep coming back!

The collections are high end, and they damn sure come with a price tag. Would I wear everything in this store? Absolutely! Could I afford anything in this store? Nope. A canvas tote bag was $125 and a designer dress was $895. That being said, I appreciate what they are trying to do in this market. Just not sure if the Cincinnati client is ready for something like this yet.

Macys Backstage has now taken over a great deal of the second floor of the Anderson Towne Center Macys. There are small sections of womens/juniors clothing, mens clothing, shoes, purses, homegoods, and some beauty. It is supposed to be discount. Prices are ok, but considering some of the higher end brands that Macys tend to carry, there never seems to be many name brand items. If you are shopping downstairs at the regular Macys it is worth checking out at least once, as long as your expectations are not high. I really wish they would have just continued to use this space for the regular everyday Macys.
