We stopped in to purchase a very expensive suit jacket and were told by the associate in Mens that we could bring the jacket in for alterations at no charge within 30 days of purchase. We just called to schedule an alteration and were told by Luke that we could not get alterations unless we paid. We would not have left the store upon purchase had we known the truth. When we advised of what we were told - we were advised that there was no way he could help us. We asked to speak with a manager and he did not transfer us. We are very disappointed that the associate who sold us the jacket was in error and that we now need to pay for that error. We are also disappointed that upon discussing this issue with Luke, there was no effort to make things right. read more

In my opinion, Hailey Whitehead the Sales Manager of Dillards in Crestview Hills, has very poor customer service/sales skills. I'm shocked she holds this position as a role model for the lower level sales associates. She refused to stand behind a product they sold that was defective. I've since called the manufacturer who confirmed the product defective pending photos to confirm what I described. I bought my daughter a pair of shoes for back to school, full price at $60, and she opened and wore them mid August for the first time-and only a few days a week until last week (not on gym days). The sales associate even talked us into using their protection spray treatment in store for an extra $9 or so. Last week my daughter showed me that both shoes were completely detaching from the sole almost all the way around. An obvious defect because you can now see the sequins go all the way into the sole and most likely rub whatever bonds the two materials together. I took the shoes back to the store to be told by Hailey 1. Since they've been worn they will not accept them back because they "aren't able to resell them due to being dirty" I found that humorous given paying them extra money for their protectant spray. She had zero care about looking at the product defects, she only cared about what she could get out of it. I wasn't concerned about the soles being dirty-they're shoes! I was concerned that after a few weeks of use they are not functioning shoes. That's not acceptable for $60. No one ever bought a pair of shoes expecting them to last only a few weeks no matter what their stores policies may be. You trust you are buying a product with decent enough quality to last a reasonable length of time and if not, your trusted retailer will take care of the problem. 2. She insinuated more than once I wasn't being truthful about how long we wore them (coincidentally I have a photo of her first day of school in her new sparkly shoes) , and when I asked her what the return policy for a full price defective item was she was dishonest and stated " 90 days UNWORN with tags." Their policy is actually 30 days for normal items but " Dillards accepts defective returns without limitation" Why does a manager not know this? I've shared a photo of my receipt which says "unless defective" and their policy posted on their website. I can't imagine this was a harmless mistake. I even asked her if losing my business over this pair of shoes was worth this and she said yes. (and we've shopped here REGULARLY for YEARS until today) I asked for her manager to come talk to me and she supposedly went to get her but came back and said she could not come see me but handed me her own businesscard instead of her mangers card. I'm curious if her manager actually condoned this or was she never even contacted? Customers should not buy from Dillards if Dillards does not uphold their own policies or take responsibility for the products they sell. In this case I do wonder if it may be a case of the wrong person in a managerial position. read more

I bought a dress for my daughters wedding from the Crestview Hills store. I loved the dress, but really wanted a different color. I made a point of asking the sales associate the return policy, as I wanted to look on THEIR online store for a different color. The sales associate told me that I could return it in 30 days with just the tags or 90 days with tags attached and a receipt for the full amount I paid. I even specifically asked her if it would be credited to the card I used(my debit card) and she said yes. I did find the dress in the color I wanted on THEIR(Dillards) website and purchased it from DILLARDS I returned the dress tonight(55 days after purchase) with the tags and receipt, and they refused to credit my debit card. The sales associate tonight and the manager said no I could only get a Dillards gift card. Dillards = zero customer service read more

Wow. I have no idea what has happened to customer service but, apparently it no longer exists. I took my mom shopping today for Mother's Day and every employee (except one in the Free People section) was incredible rude and ignorant, not to mention so many walked by us but not once did anyone ask us if we needed help. My mom asked one if she worked there and the lady just stared at her. Literally, no words or anything, just a blank stare. Then, the THREE girls in the shoe department decided they'd rather stand behind the register and talk the entire time we were there instead of helping us. When we finally walked up to them and asked for help, one girl actually told us they didn't have the shoe as the other girl told us they did and then continued to stand there and stare at us. They weren't friendly, they weren't helpful and they were stupid, rude and ignorant. read more

Fantastic experience today. I was trying on pant and was not sure what the sales price would ring up as. I was greeted by "Ice". She answered my question and told me where to find more pants. She even took what I had in my hands and said she would keep them for me so I could look around more. Checking out she made sure everything she had was okay to ring up. I actually took one pair back to find another. She was very kind and made my day. She asked if I wanted to keep the hangers and placed my purchase in a plastic bag and tied the bottom so nothing would drag. She was amazing. I honestly felt good about my experience and I wanted to share how much "Ice" was appreciated today. I will go back and ask for her every time to ring me up. read more

I hate this Dillards. Hands down, the management and security people at this Dillards are THE most unprofessional people. Last Summer, I purchased two maxi dresses from the Juniors department and one skirt from the BCBG counter. I ended up wanting to return the skirt and one of the dresses. I had removed the tags from both but kept the tags with the receipt in case of a return. I first returned the maxi dress but mistakenly had grabbed from home the incorrect tag (the tag from the dress I kept). I didn't realize it at the time. The salesclerk processed the return and gave me store credit since it had been more than 30 days since I'd purchased the dress. Then, I made my way upstairs to return the BCBG skirt. While I was at the BCBG counter, the salesclerk was acting very strange - like there was a problem with her computer. She kept getting on the phone and talking with someone. Suddenly, two men approached me and told me I needed to walk with them. I asked them why and they would not answer me - the kept saying I needed to walk with them. One of them grabbed my arm to turn me in the direction of the down escalator and the other grabbed my skirt I was attempting to return. They refused to tell me where they were taking me or what the problem was. My mom and sister had come with me on this trip and we passed them as we were walking through the Juniors department to the back of the store. I yelled for my mom and sister to follow us. The led us through a door that took us into a small room that I guess was a security office. In there, I was yelled at and accused of trying to "swap tags" to get a better return on the maxi dress. Over and over I explained to them that I had not knowingly swapped tags - that I simply grabbed the wrong one - and that I had also brought the receipt which proved I had no desire to swap tags. I offered to have my husband bring the other tag from our home to the security office. They absolutely would not listen to me. They continued to accuse me for about an hour. I was not allowed to call anyone (nor were my mom or sister) for help. Finally, they decided since I had brought the original receipt I did not intend after all to swap tags. They allowed me to keep my store credit but refused to allow me to return the BCBG skirt I did not want. NO ONE apologized for falsely accusing me of a crime, for detaining me (as well as my mom and sister) for more than an hour, for humiliating me, for preventing me from returning a garment I did not want or for refusing to listen to me explain the situation. In fact, when they finally decided to let me leave, they laughed off the situation and suddenly acted like the whole thing had been a joke. I have NEVER been so angry or humiliated in a store before. I will never shop at Dillards again. And if you choose to shop there and decide later you want to return something, you better make sure you have all of your receipts and tags in order because I hope no one ever has to experience what I did. Went there to try on homecoming dresses the lady working in the junior department with the dresses was very rude and disrespectful her name is Chelsea, we were getting ready to walk into the fitting rooms and she goes you guys have to put some of them down there's a to dress limit and I said OK since win because I was here last week and it wasn't like that and she goes if you're gonna have a problem with it seems like you're going to cause a scene so I'm gonna tell you I'm gonna ask you to leave like assuming I'm going to cause a problem when I wasn't going to I just said that's kind of ridiculous because I was here last week and it wasn't like this and she called security on me because of what I said. I would give this place a one star if I could. Customer Service is NON EXISTENT. I asked to be transferred to dresses. I was transfered 3 times and then the phone rang forever, until someone finally hung up on me. The person who did answer the first time was incredibly rude. Went in last Saturday looking for a certain type of shoe. Thought I found what I needed and turned around to ask for help. The one girl that was looking at me with shoe in hand decided best to look the other way. Another girl walked passed me and never said a word. A third lady walking around chose to ignore everyone around her. She looked at me and walked off. Funny thing is, the shoe department was almost empty. Terrible customer service!! Went there on 3/18/2018 dress shopping with my daughter. After 2 hrs of shopping she finds a dress she loves but guess what, it's missing both buttons. Must have been a issue with the manufacturer but no other sizes and it only comes with one extra button....hmm which the dress needs two. Talk to the manager in the customer service and explained that the dress is completely damaged and there is no guarantee that we can even find buttons to match. Of course we get the standard 20% offer. Even though there other dresses on clearance marked down 50%. There were 3 of these dresses left which will probably get marked down 50% in a week or 2. She said all she can do is mark it as damaged. That's terrible customer service. If you have a chance to sell something even at 50% off you do it because you make so much more on a happy customer by shoes or other accessories to go with it. I love Dillard's and since there is not one near where I live, I always like to go when I'm back home. This location is 2 stories and in the Crestview Town Center, so the location is great if you have other shopping to do. The store seems to be pretty well organized and lots of sales associates on the floor. The cashier who checked me out was very friendly and I like that they offer to email your receipt instead of taking a paper copy. It's so much easier to keep track of e-receipts versus paper receipts. read more

Avoid the Clinique counter at the Crestview Hills Dillard's. I made a sizable purchase recently, and, when I tried to enter my PIN after swiping my card, I got only two digits into it before the cashier canceled the PIN entry (on her side) and forced it to go through as a credit card transaction. When I hesitated before signing--I didn't want to use my debit card as a credit card--she got snippy: "Does it matter?" Well, yes. Yes, it does matter: if I wanted to use a credit card, I would have swiped a credit card; I specifically used my debit card because I wanted an immediate, point-of-sales purchase. She then--in this little-girl, helpless tone of voice--offered to do a return...which was useless, as that would have doubly tied up the funds in my account for 2-3 business days. My wife was grabbed in the parking lot at Crestview Hills Ky store by a security officer and taken to their office. After many questions they accused her of passing bad 50 dollar bills. The security said it was because she had a pink shirt on. Finally they admitted a mistake had been made and offered a 50$ gift card. Every time you go in there, if you're not dressed to impress, you're judged. They have so many people come up and ask you if you need any help like they're scared you're going to steal something. The makeup ladies are pretentious. Don't bother going to the blond Dior lady. She'll make you feel like you don't belong if you're not wearing the best clothes. I have only visited a few times, since I don't live in the area, but I have had only spotty problems with the service here. When I visited this past weekend, the service in housewares was pratically non-existent, even after I asked for help, but the service in the men's department was really excellent, and they had a great sale going on! I was just at Dillards today and was trying on some shoes in the shoe department. There was only one worker in that department and she was doing the best that she could to keep everyone waited on. People were questioning her about why there was not more help and she said the other two called in that they would not be coming to work. What I noticed most of all was how filthy the chair covers on the chairs were. They were so bad I was not too happy about sitting down in them with white pants. I will not be going back to the shoe department until I notice that the chairs have been cleaned or recovered. Ridiculous that a store with a good reputation around the region would let their store fixtures get so absolutely disgusting. read more
