Overall a great department store for clothes, shoes, perfumes and jewelry. What I really love about this store is the kitchen/bath department. All sorts of cool and fun gadgets for the kitchen. If you love to cook, this is a Mecca for you. We've also had very good experience with the furniture department and purchasing couches, mattresses and other items for our home. Be sure to check out their annual 0% interest event for furniture that happens in February (if I'm not mistaken). It's a great time to stock up on things for the home. Macy's sucks. I hate this place. They were having a big sale, so I went to buy a vacuum and some pots and pans for my new apartment. Boooooo Macy's. Their customer service was awful. No one would help me buy this vacuum. It was so frustrating. My friend and I went to customer service to see if they could page someone to help us, and they said they could not. We approached 2 different sales people just standing around and asked nicely for help, and both were busy. One ran off with a slurpee in hand, and the other said she couldn't help us (she was talking on her cell phone) and said "oh, he can help you" and pointed to a cashier with a line of ten million people. It was SOOO frustrating. I worked at Nordstrom for a year, and after the things I would do for customers, I was shocked that no one would even help me. I had to wait in line for the cashier, but he was busy helping people too. Do they not have salespeople?? They also discriminate on race and age. My mom has gotten really great service when she shops in their home department, yet no one would help me because I'm 22. When we were there, a manager was talking to an African-American woman, apologizing and saying, "I'm so sorry. You should've been treated better." I don't know what happened, but he was apologizing for something! A Hispanic woman was waiting in line much longer than some of the white patrons. It was a very weird experience and definitely not up to par with the service I'm used to getting at other department stores. read more

Went here and purchased shoes. Got home, which is 2 hours away, and realized that they had given me two different sized shoes (5 1/2 and 6 1/2). I tried calling them immediately but kept getting sent to the online department. Now that I've finally been transferred to the actual store, the phone just rings and rings. No one picks up. It's been 15 minutes just ringing. When I was in the store, there was not enough help there to take care of customers so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that no one will answer the phone. We stopped in a few times looking for a sofa replacement, yes Macy's sells furniture. Lisa our sales associate spent lots of time with us and ensured we would be satisfied with our purchase. We returned Memorial Day weekend to finalize the purchase not realizing the sofa we selected was on additional sale. We found a 50% off bed linens too and got an additional 20% off getting a steal. Quite possibly the best experience I've had at Macy's in a while. Dealt with 3 different associates in 3 different departments who all went above and beyond in their customer service! Cannot speak enough praises about Debra in the Furniture department. She dealt with me over the course of 2 days bc I came in on a Friday, already knowing the couch I wanted but I was undecided on the color and needed to see the swatches. After looking all over the showroom floor for the extra swatches, she began to call surrounding stores for me to see who had it. Throughout this ordeal we were talking through all of my questions and concerns from price difference in store vs online to delivery service to upkeep of the fabric to sleeper vs non-sleeper. She sent me on my way to another store that had take home swatches available for me that I could truly visualize the color scheme with my own wall/floor colors. I told her I'd be back but I don't think she believed me by the way she was surprised the next day when I did. And again, this lady calmly answered a whole new set of questions I had and even remembered minor details of our conversation the night before. When it came time to check out, she broke everything down and did a few different combinations for me to see final dollar amounts (with ottoman or without, with protection plan or without). She made this experience very easy which is definitely up my alley. On my way out I stopped by LensCrafters bc why not? Again, both associates there were super nice and helpful! Nancy ended up assisting me and she did the same thing as Debra- showed me all sorts of options and price points until I decided on what I wanted to do. She even hyped me up when I'd throw out the occasional "yaaaaaas" when trying on some Prada sunglasses lol lol Granted, these ladies are paid to sell, I'm not ignorant on that matter. However, I'm sure many of us can testify to how many people are paid to sell and it's EVIDENT that they hate their job! I applaud these ladies for service they provided! read more

Update. I ordered Light blue Tuxedo pants and they arrived damaged! Here is a stain right above the left knee. So evidently, Macy's is shipping about damaged merchandise to online shoppers. So now I have to order a return label and take time out of my day to ship and return and waste gas because Macy's unethical practices. I needed a new pair of dress shoes. Decided to try Macy's. Arrived in the men's shoe department at Northpark. No sales associates anywhere to be seen. Finally found a pair that I liked. Finally saw someone at the "Finishline" checkout. Asked if he could help me and he said, "nope, go over there," pointing to an unstaffed checkout. Finally a girl straddles up the the checkout and says, "what?" I ask if she can help me with sizing, I need an 8.5 or 9. She says, "which one?" I tell her, "both, please." She walks away and I follow her to the shoe checkout where she checks both sizes. "Don't have 8.5. Don't have 9. Don't have none." And then she walks off not asking if she can help me with another pair. This is the EXACT reason that Macy's is failing...horrible customer service. Having been a retailer, I would have fired her on the spot. No excuse for the lack of customer service other than poor management. read more

Visited the Northpark store hoping to have a better experience than I've been having at suburban stores, after all, it's Northpark, right?Men's department was a disgraceful mess. Adjacent athletic wear department a mess as well. Clothes on the floor, nearly every table or display in disarray, trash left about. Obviously not store policy to clean and straighten each department before start of next business day??? Saw 2 sales associates, one on phone with customer, other crouching down behind her register texting. Managers must not work Sunday morning for this to be happening. If I wore a hat, I'd tip it to the excellent customer service in the furniture department! Mr. Tracy and Ms. Debra helped me with the purchase of an Italian leather sofa as well as a coffee & side table set. Additionally, they wrapped everything in plastic and got a couple of guys to help me take it to my car and load. Pick-up Tip: Park at the east Macy's entrance (facing 75) on the second floor of the garage. There is a ramp that makes everything easier. Unfortunately, there are no automatic handicap doors even though there are handicap parking spots up there. There's a tablet system for the furniture dept. instead of the usual register, which complicates the purchasing process, making it a bit inefficient. The discounts I received for all items heavily contributes to my buyer satisfaction. I will definitely be back to take another look around for more great finds! read more

I'm partial to this Macy's because yours truly used to have a seasonal job here. That's right, I worked a Christmas season to help me (use finger quotes and a sarcastic tone when reading this), "Pay down my student loans"! Then I realized I was spending all the money I made here well...here in the store! This is a huge store and they have some of the top sales in the country! It's not the most organized for women's clothes, but the other departments are great. My favorite is the home department. You can get everything you need to furnish your home from living room furniture to kitchen gadgets. Macy's is always having a sale and coupons, but please remember that you cannot use coupons on Specials! I totally recommend signing up for a Macy's card because you can save 20% on everything for the day, you get special coupons, and it helps the people working here feel great! Yeah, I felt pretty great when someone signed up for a card with me. Northpark Macy's, you'll always remind me of Christmas and happiness. read more

I visited this store on a slow, snowy day. All I needed was my husbands' watch fixed and his bracelet adjusted. They only had one available fine jewelry associate that was running ALL OVER HER department. I didn't get any acknowledgement, as well as all the other people waiting. She stood and talked to ppl that looks like she wasn't worried about even looking my way to help in just a few. I waited and waited. I even walked off. All of the other surrounding associates could not even keep us intrigued with anything while waiting. It was like they are scared of CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Management please get it together!!! read more

I like Macy's and I think the Northpark location is a good one merchandise wise. Customer service sucks though. The cashier named Kay who works in the juniors section doesn't belong in customer service. I stopped in for a quick return (2 items from an online order) and she immediately had a horrible attitude towards me. She rolled her eyes and gave a suppressed mocking laugh at me, totally unprovoked. It was pretty bizarre. I asked her if I should find someone else, but she completed my return. It was just shockingly rude since I wasn't being a difficult customer and was asking for a totally normal request. Kay either needs serious coaching or to be let go. read more

So I tried to return 2 items that I lost the receipt for at the Frisco Stonebriar location and was told that without a receipt, they'd have to give me the lowest selling price..which was like less than half of what I paid. I was confused because the last time I lost my receipt, they scanned the customer return label and brought it up without any problem. This time was suddenly different. So I went home with my merchandise. A few days later, I was going to North Park and decided to bring the items just in case. The associate scanned the labels and brought up my info right away, and issued me the refund! Now was that so hard Stonebriar Macy's?! Ugh. Needless to say, I was very pleased at the competency of the associate I dealt with here. I browsed a bit but didn't make a purchase. Great selection and awesome prices. I needed To exchange a necklace. I didn't have my original necklace with me but wanted to look at the options for when i make the exchange. When i tried to take pictures the employee said photos aren't allowed. So you mean to tell me i can't take a photo of a $750 necklace to see if i like it?! This Macy's is A-OK. Not my favorite store in the world, but I usually pop in for a bit if I happen to be at the Northpark Mall. Sometimes they send us deals via email (15% to 20% off) that are too good to pass up, like this weekend, when we made a special trip north on US-75 specifically to go to Macy's and get my boyfriend some new dress shoes. My boyfriend actually purchases a lot of the clothes he wears to work here (dress pants, dress shirts, dress shoes) because of the frequent deals and good quality. I'm a cheapskate, so unless I have a gift card or I find a good clearance rack, it's pretty rare that I'll purchase anything here, but it is fun to browse. I do like that they're an all-purpose department store; I can buy bedsheets and a blender just steps away from where my boyfriend is trying on a new suit. Nothing wrong with that. All interactions with the staff at this location have been pleasant and helpful. When I am armed with a gift card, a coupon or a clearance rack, I'd happily shop here all day. read more

Christmas shopping with my girlfriend Keli and this store is always our go to!!! Always clean and organized with plenty of staff to help you with every need! We shopped for sun glasses and after an hour of trying different styles our sales man still had a big smile and very happy to help! Went in looking for some shirts, pants, and maybe a pair of shoes. No service. One employee acknowledged my existence and asked me if I wanted to check out... 20 feet from the register. No shopping carts. How am I supposed to carry stuff? No spots to place clothes after trying them on, so I left them on the floor. Some employee hiding over by the Levi's texting behind the register. Literally, they had a little cubbyhole where they could hide from customers. A fort made of a movable clothing rack -- probably the one that was supposed to be in the dressing room. Bad experience in every way. Seems to be a trend, since the store at Firewheel isn't much better. I will be skipping Macy's from now on. read more

I had the worst customer experience here the other night. After an unsuccessful trip to Firewheel Mall, we reluctantly made the trek across town to North Park Mall in hopes of finding "just the right shirt" and "just the right tie" for my son's homecoming event. Macy's was stop #4 on our odyssey. I rarely shop at Macy's so it took us awhile to locate the men's department. Once there, we bumbled around looking through their selection of dress shirts and ties. The malls and stores that we visited this evening were pretty much deserted, yet we couldn't find any sales people to assist us. We saw one gentleman but he was across the way busy assisting other customers. We managed to locate a shirt from their display of pre-packaged business shirts. Since the shirt did not indicate "slim fit", we were unsure as to how it would fit. So off we go in search of a sales associate. We made our way to the center of the men's department where they had a rectangular check out counter. There we spotted two sales individuals (a male and female), casually engaged in a conversation. My teen asked if they carried a particular style of dress shirt (popular among kids of his generation), to which they replied no. Then he asked if he could try on the shirt that he was carrying in the see-through plastic packaging. To this question we were met with blank stares from both of them and the male associate actually had his mouth opened and said, "Uhhhhhhh..." Are you serious? Was it that hard of a question to answer? You'd think we had just asked if we could have the shirt for free or something. After an uncomfortable amount of time and no response, I took the package from my son's hands and tossed it on the counter towards them and said, "Never mind, we'll shop somewhere else". And as we walked off I said, "THIS is why I never shop at Macy's!" Meanwhile, I still have a gift card that I received from someone last Christmas that I have yet to use! This review is specifically for the Lancôme beauty counter. I visited the Macy's store located in North Park Center on 12/29/2017 between 3-3:30pm. I received the Lancome Holiday Beauty Box (10-pc set) as a Christmas gift. I BARELY used 2 of the 10 products just to try it, but overall wasn't happy with the set. When I went to the Macy's store location to return the item, which had a return label on the package, the woman at the Lancome beauty department first asked if I used the set. I told her I did. She then told me I couldn't return the set because it was used, and that it had to be brand new and unused in order to initiate a return. She also mentioned something about a restocking fee. I kindly let her know that I've returned a used product to Shiseido before without any problem, and she told me that it's because it's a DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT. I stepped away and checked the store policy online, which said that gently used makeup and skincare products may be returned. In addition, I called customer service who confirmed that I should be able to return the item to a store without a problem. The woman on the phone suggested that if I wasn't able to return the gift set at this Macy's, to try another Macy's location. I wasn't going to drive to another Macy's just because one store is refusing to honor their own return policy...is this really their suggestion to solve the problem? After about 30 minutes, I returned to the Lancome counter and met with a different woman (who witnessed my first attempt to return the gift). I let her know that I called customer service and checked the policy online, so this time she tells me I can't return the Lancome holiday set because it's a gift with purchase. She says in order for me to return the gift item, I'd also need to return the original item purchased. She said since this was given to me as a gift, and therefore I don't have the original item, I can't return it all. I let the woman know that it would've been better if they had 1 solid reason for me being unable to return the gift, not 2 different reasons. By this point, I was tired of trying to talk to the women at the Lancome beauty counter, so I thanked them and walked away. Once again, I called customer service and asked them about returning a (purchased) gift that was part of another purchase. And once again, they told me I should have no problem returning it at the store for store credit. Now, I'm looking at the Macy's website and see that the Lancome Holiday Beauty Box is available for purchase for $63.50, not part of a purchase gift for purchase deal that I was originally told by the woman at the Lancome beauty counter. So, by this point, I sent a message to Macy's over Facebook. They were able to locate the original receipt with the return label number that I provided to them. They confirmed that the purchaser did buy the beauty box for $63.50, not as part of some deal. The customer service via Facebook forwarded my contact information to Lancome management. Its been a week and I still haven't heard anything. Apparently, I'm not the only one with this sort of problem. This is probably one of the reasons why Macy's is having to close so many stores. By now, it has nothing to do with getting store credit. This whole back-and-forth is just laughable. This is why I never shopped at Macy's to begin with. read more

I went to Macy's in search of a gown for my son's wedding in a few days. I found a salesperson Adrianna and told her what I was looking for. she told me about the free personal shopper service and brought me to Christina. These two ladies were fabulous. they helped me pick out gowns that would work for me and we went off to the private fitting room. I found the perfect gown. Christina then went to find accessories and shoes for me. She would bring several options for me to choose from. They found everything from shoes, earrings and purse that all worked perfectly together. I was very nervous about finding the right gown, but they made it so easy and pleasant. I can't wait to wear it all. They made me feel like I was shopping with 2 friends. I will definitely be back to shop at Macy's. read more
