If you're looking for even a modicum of customer service, you will not find it at this Macys...except for the Starbucks inside! The person working at BlueMercury was very disgruntled that I asked for a sample of foundation, even after explaining I have very sensitive skin. They also applied my blush in quite an unflattering way. Dude was pushing for a sale, but the sample broke me out when I got home so... You want better attention than Sephora, you'll get it here. You want a worse attitude? You'll also get it here. On a difference visit, after scouring several departments to ask a question, a Macy's employee was walking my direction finally. The convo basically went like this: "Excuse me, miss?" Angrily she says, "I can't help you, can't you see I'm with a customer?" (No one else around but her and I) "I was just looking for the pajamas?" Her manner and tone were the rudest I've ever experienced. If I was a Karen, I would have cared enough to get her fired. I just had a question that took a few seconds! The bright spot of this Macys is the baristas at the Starbucks. They were hilarious and kept it real. They hooked a girl up! So, if you find yourself lost in this Macys, grab yourself a latte and leave! read more

I always feel like a paper bag blowing in the wind at Macy's. The store is massive and I'm just guessing where I'm gonna turn to find the section I'm looking. Usually just run into on accident and make it look like it was intentional, but I had no clue it was there. The aisles are clean and the service is good. The people who haven't been replaced by AI and bots who work there (if you can find them) which is a whole journey in itself help a lot. Once I've hunted them down they are very nice and knowledgeable on how to find the things I'm looking for in the clothing and more jungle called Macy's. I am writing this on behalf of my husband's cousin and his wife. Our cousin's wife was the recipient of rude behavior at the make-up counter at Macy's at Kenwood. This happened in the last two weeks. Our cousin overheard the counter person being very rude and dismissive to his wife -- his wife of 50 years is from Korea and speaks accented English. The makeup counter person used a mean tone, asked very stern questions and gave his wife a hard stare. The counter person thought this Asian lady was alone, clearly. When her husband, white, and a US army veteran, walked over to see what the issue was-- the counter person was completely surprised! Caught in the act. Shame on her, and whoever hired her. read more

I admit this place has gone a little downhill over the last 5 years but I still appreciate coming to the store, especially during the holidays and seeing what items are for sale and browsing vs just shopping online. They have everything you need from Macys (men's store, mattress, bedding, kids, women's, plus size, fragrance and beauty) and enough traffic that inventory is pretty good compared to the other Macys around town. Love that this holiday season they have an expanded toys r us section with deals and toys for all ages. The customer service is still friendly and great. Parking around kenwood is a breeze. I'm feeling E-Macy-ated, so I come into a Macy's hoping for food and drink, and all they sell is clothes and perfumes. Just my luck. Located at the mall in the north part of Cincinnati, this is a pretty popular Macy's which was fairly busy - and a lot of these department stores are going out of business, but Macy's is trying to stay relevant and trying to stay ahead of the curve, much like JC Penney, but with less success. Truth - I don't like them and I don't like their politics. I'm not going to give them a good rating anyway, and they're pretty expensive. But the server was really nice and Barbie found a couple of nice things that she was interested in buying - so overall I'll give it a middle-of-the-road rating I guess, like somewhere in the middle. read more

We found a lot of great clothes yesterday for my husband but the customer service stinks. I finally got my husband to get rid of most of his 20-30 year old clothes and he needed to replace his wardrobe. So, we headed to Macy's in Kenwood Towne Centre. We were in there for quite a bit, in several different sections, on different floors and back & forth between areas multiple times. We saw many workers but were greeted by only one. The guy in the Ralph Lauren section asked if he could help us but he's the only one who spoke to us. When we went to the shoe section and asked for a size for my husband to try on the man seemed bothered we were there. He even walked off while my husband was still talking to him. We had so many clothes and accessories that we were literally dropping clothing on the floor and had to keep retrieving it. Still, not one employee greeting or offering of assistance. Finally, we go to check out and C. not only didn't greet us - he didn't say one word the entire time he was ringing us up. The first time he spoke was when he said the total. NEVER EVER ORDER ONLINE FROM HERE FOR PICKUP!!!!! "Lost" my order days before Christmas, employees were rude and acted like it was an inconvenience for them to help me. Gave me a refund which will go into effect in 7-9 business days so now I don't have a Christmas gifts for people and sat there for two hours until I could get a real answer: Came in to pickup my order and off the bat the ladies were very rude one was an older lady I think her name was Latrice and a younger woman I think her name was Bennie. She went to scan my barcode for pickup and tried to say it was already picked up. I said that's not possible I've been out of town since this morning and no one else knew about this since it's a Christmas gift. She then tried to backtrack and say oh well they went out of stock so it will be refunded to your account and handed me the number for customer service. I was annoyed but said okay. I call my bank and see if the order was canceled and a refund was in progress they said no. I then call macys customer service and they say no no no if someone picked it up they would need Id and would have to sign so something's not adding up and advised me to go back to the pickup which I did and there was another lady who acted like having to get the manager would send her into a panic attack. Manager tried to tell me I also picked it up but was being more help, keep in Mind my order was over $200, and said that he would have to do more research. He tried to say I picked it up @8:36 the previous night which ISNT true. So I said wouldn't you have a signature or needed an ID in order for them to pick it up he had no answers and I said you can go check the cameras from 8:36 the previous night you will not have seen me pick up the order. He says okay walks away for ten minutes and says he can try and redo the order if they have it in stock. So I said great let's do it and he asked if I wanted him to do it or for him to put it back on a gift card and I could go find it i said I want you to do it. HE WAS THEN GONE FOR 30 minutes!!!!! And came back with nothing so I said I want a refund ans he goes it won't be reflected until 7-10 business days. Now I have no gift and wasted 2 hours of my life. read more

Beauty department is not good and always rush me out. Tried to get my foundation for the third time and was told they didn't have before even looking for it. I was exchanging for the last mistake they made and just felt like there was no time to service me. Of course they had it but just never took the time. :( I don't recommend it. read more

The wait to check out is usually TERRIBLE because the employees move slow or chit chat too much. I waited 15 minutes but there were only 2 people in front of me and 2 employees ! Ridiculous. Like move faster when you're scanning . A short lady with a thick spanish accent checked me out, and I was CHARGED TWICE for a sweater . I would prefer someone who know English . She scanned the same sweater multiple times, but I trusted her. Then I check the I receipt and I was in fact charged twice. She got ALLL quite when I checked the receipt , and then she said "ooops, sorry" and then she had to refund it. It took 3 days to get my refund. Learn how to do your job right lady ! I already spend over 100$ when I go to Macys , so I don't need to be charged double for my items read more

This is a very nice Macys store. With the downtown store closing this is the best one around. It is multilevel with easy mall access. They sell toys here now and adding a toysrus in it. Great sales and you will find all the name brands here. Great customer service. Lots of registers. read more

My daughter and I got to experience Macy's in a whole new way today as VIP's to their fall fashion show. We had such a great time! The styles that they highlighted for this fall ranged from everyday to office options, they offered great ideas on how to mix up one outfit with different options. During the event they also offered gifts from other companies such as Urbana coffee, candle customization with Honybee + home co., dried flower bouquets from Sadie flower, and a sugar scrub from Queen City alchemy. We really enjoyed the swag bag we received being a part of the yelp elite crew. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Macy's offers a pleasant shopping experience with a wide variety of options in any department. read more

I finally found my dress! After making a previous visit to Kenwood, I left the mall defeated and discouraged. I hated everything that screamed "mother of the bride". I decided to go home and order one online. Guess what? I hated that dress too. My previous visit to Cincinnati was cut short, and I missed this Macy's. Fast forward a month later, we came back specifically to check out this Macy's. It's a lot bigger than the one that we have in Lexington. They carry a large line of Adrianna Papell, and that just so happen to be the line that I knew I would get. Within five minutes of arrival, I found my dress. I have to mention that the sales ladies were on the older side, and weren't too friendly. One lady practically refused to check the computer for a specific size, even though I had the exact dress in hand. She said, what was out there is out there, because it was a new line. I explained that at the Macy's in Lexington they were able to to me which store(s)/locations had a particular dress in stock. After huffing and puffing, and literally arguing with me, she finally pulled it up in the computer and found out that they had it there!! Despite needing a major customer service overhaul, the large selection of dresses made my experience a success. read more

I just spoke with an associate at the Kenwood Macy's. I spoke with an associate at the cosmetic counter for Elizabeth Arden on or about 6/10 I was told Arden was in presale for their promotion. I ordered $160.00 in products. Last week 6/19 I spoke with the same associate asking where my products were. She explained the promo just started that day and assured me my package was ready to go out the next day Fast forward to today, I checked with customer service there was no purchase or orders on my name. I then called Macy's Kenwood and after many, many rings, an associate from another counter picked up the call. After going over everything with her, she could not find any order. This review is for Phillip in the men's suit department who deserves a raise! We went to a few stores to look for affordable modern, contemporary men's suits for our wedding. Macy's came up on many forums as the leader in men's suits. From start to finish Philip was a dream. He was knowledgeable about fit and most importantly if he did not know something - HE FOUND OUT. There is nothing worse than a moody teenager saying, "I don't know" and that is usually what you find with department stores. Not only was he knowledgeable but he was running around like a crazy person as we through size after size, and color after color at him! He somehow kept everything straight and we ended up finding "the one!" The very best part???? He agreed to match the price of the suit online. Then agreed to match the sale price for groomsmen coming in after the sale has ended by helping us set an appointment at a later date. AND got us 25% off by letting us know (pro-tip!) If you register at Macy's everyone in your wedding party gets 25% off suits if you buy them there. We had NO IDEA! All in all we ended up getting a $600 suit for around $250 and seriously could not believe it. The quality is also so good that we do not even need tailoring! I not only want to give Phillip props for taking care of us, but I want him to be my friend! What a nice guy. I feel safe with our wedding party in his hands and you should ask for him if you find yourself in the market for a new suit. read more

This is one of the nicest Macys in greater Cincinnati. They tend to carry more high end brands and a larger selection as this is part of the fancier Kenwood Towne Center. Usually if another location doesn't have something, you will find it here. What is lacking here is the customer service that i've experienced at other locations. This is not to say that I haven't had some great customer service, but it is not consistent. Also, this is a busier location, so it is often harder to find help. The Clinique counter, as well as Coach, Michael Kors, and Sunglass hut are very helpful. The store is usually neat and organized even in clearance areas. read more

The credit card policies are also horrific, and certainly straddling the line of best FDCA practices. I talked my boyfriend into getting a card here a few years ago to be able to take advantage of discounts using the card. This started the great Macy's caper: 1. He went a few months without using his credit card - Macy's started charging a surcharge for non-usage of the card. Ummm, okay? I know zero other creditors who do this. Seems like a very scam'ish way to get around advertising yourselves as "no annual fee". 2. Then, unbeknownst to us, they attached their close to usurious interest rate to the non-usage surcharge. Before you knew it, he had amassed a nice little balance he didn't know he had (because again, he hadn't actually purchased anything in a few months). 3. What happens when you don't pay a balance you're unaware of? A late fee is added. 4. And what happens when you're unaware you are delinquent with your creditor? They report you to various credit reporting agencies. So, now we have bought no merchandise, a scam fee was tossed on, a ridiculous interest rate attached to a junk fee, plus a late payment on a balance we didn't know we had. On and on. Once he became aware of the great Macy's caper, he quickly paid the junk fees to make it go away and cancelled his card. I have since done the same. Thanks, Macy's. We spend our money at Nordstrom now for the additional reasons I detailed in my original review. Service. read more

I haven't been in this Macy's for a long time due to covid. I was very disappointed to find out that they have no more petites at all! I saw an employee pushing a rack of clothes and I asked her where the petite department was. She said, "go to Anderson". I've been to the Anderson Macy's store and they have turned it into almost an outlet store. The clothing is not the same quality as they used to have. I wanted to buy baby clothes and I did find some nice outfits for a gift, but I won't be frequenting this store in the future. read more

This review is actually for the Lancôme beauty counter at Macy's. I have to say that every employee at the counter was amazing and fun to talk to. I came in looking for a new foundation and had s mini makeover done and she had explained everything to me and answered all the questions I had. Jessie was the best Lancôme rep and her accent is amazing. She tried some colors on for lips and blush I would never have thought to try but the way she did it I loved it and she showed me how she typically applies so that it's subtle and also showed me how to make the makeup last long. They also had some specials going on for free gifts so it made it the perfect time to shop and of course I walked away with a purchase :) I had come back again today to pick up another online order and stopped by to ask a question at the Lancôme counter and the girls there were fun and so helpful. I normally don't spend this much on make up but with the freebies it made worth it and I would come back to Lancôme because I walked away with a trust and know they'd do what they can to make anything right if I didn't like something. read more

This store has a design that reminds me of the newer Macy's around the country--it's not a Burdines/Lazarus/Shillito's/Rike's--it's a Macy's. It's also nice that they have The Cellar on the lower floor. It always made me wonder who would put a department with that name on the higher floors. It seems well-stocked, although the store seems a bit small. Maybe, it's just that Kenwood Towne Center is a small mall. However, no matter what, it's going to beat Dullards, errr, Dillards, JC Penney, and Sears quite easily. read more

Macy's in Kenwood used to be one of my favorite stores to shop. Now I'm a little sadden to say that I probally won't return at all. I agree with the previous post regarding terrible customer service in the jewellery department. I waited nearly 30 minutes just to get service; which by the way was deplorable! All the girls looked extremely annoyed when I scanned for someone to help. I received Christmas gift which I was patronized about having a receipt then I showed them I had a gift tag. The shocker was that I was told by Alec (who didn't have her badge) Macy's return policy states I couldn't return the watch I got the links adjusted. I still can't find a policy on Macy's website supporting this policy. I really feel the situation could have gone differently. Macy's really needs to invest in better training for their employees; they are the face of the company and can have lasting customer impact read more

It is in my nature to be a bargain shopper, so in the past I never started my search for new clothes in the department stores. I always thought I could find a 'deal' searching through the discount stores. I finally realized that my searches most always end successfully at Macy's. Today I went in search of a great professional style for work. Found the perfect outfit on the first trip into the dressing room. Great quality & fit for a total of less than $50! As I was leaving the store, I passed a display of great shoes at 30% off. Purchased a $90 pair of designer shoes for around $30 with my Macy's Star Rewards. This used to be a beautiful store, organized, good products, staff to assist customers. The displays of beautiful China and flatware. A great childrens dept with a mix of high end clothing and reasonably priced things. In recent trips to other Macys, this one retained its character longer while others deteriorated with their new bargain basement look. Walking in to the lower level the first thing you see is "Macys Backstage", which is a collection of crowded disorganized displays of leftover clearance things that nobody wanted - even at discounted prices. Next to it is "Macys Kids", shoved into a small space and looking like the rest of the bargain basement. Try to find a child's swimsuit, a dress for Easter, or cute shorts? Good luck. Mixed in with all of the cheap junk and impossible to push through to select things. Lots of athletic shirts which can be found anywhere. Is Macys conducting a campaign to destroy in store shopping? Trying to buy something brings the thought that it would just be easier to shop online. No staff except at "let's check out" here" big signs - long long lines. No one to help with anything. Went to shoe dept. very crowded, all chairs to try on shoes have been remodeled bed,, everyone trying on shoes while standing up! Shoes and boxes all over the floor, tripping hazard! For this huge dept there are 2 small benches which would each hold one customer (if they weren't piled with shoes), and one bench with 3 seats. (Occupied). Trying to select beautiful bedding? Good luck! Only a few displays remain of cheaper products. Are they trying to convince people to shop at Target instead? At least at Target the stores are organized, look nice, and products are attractively displayed. If they need the Backstage" to get rid of old junk they should put those ugly things in a back area, not at the entrance. People looking for leftover junk will still seek it out in the back of the store. Goodbye Macy's. This was the last holdout to give in to the new plan, and they've destroyed a beautiful shopping experience. read more

I now understand why Macy's is closing a lot of their locations - their customer service is horrendous. We were there a few weeks back, well before the Black Friday week or weekend. We went in looking for new black and brown rounded shoe laces for Zach's dress shoes. Easy. We spent some time walking around looking for the shoe laces and have zero luck so I decided we just needed to ask to be pointed in the right direction. We decided to get in line to ask our simple question which was where are men's shoe laces and the sales attendant then completely ignores us and pulls a customer buying shoes in front of us. The customer asks if we are in line and he just says no it is fine. WHAT. So I leave my boyfriend to wait while I look for someone else, nope no one even makes eye contact with me or tries to help me as I wonder around. What is happening here. My boyfriend then finds me and says the guy completely ignores him and left the register without saying one word to him. This was a completely disgusting representation of customer service and I will not be spending my money at Macy's anytime soon. Multiple associates looked right at us and when I approached them, clearly ignored me and walked the other way. Okay.... What? I live in Fort Worth, Texas and called Macy's in Cincinnati to purchase a tee shirt that was not available in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex Macy's stores. Maria went above and beyond and took time to locate the shirt in the size I needed, and then, take my information and make sure it is being mailed to me. She was very helpful, even though, she had people waiting in line to make a purchase. I cannot find words to express how grateful I am for Maria Sunnenberg. I'm reviewing Macy's today... More specifically the Chanel counter inside Macy's. I needed some foundation. When it comes to makeup, I usually know exactly what I want. I'm what you could call a self appointed expert on the subject. I research makeup the way that historians might research The Roman Empire. I picked a horrible day to go, because I realized today was a holiday, therefore 85% of Cincinnati is off work... And it's raining, so they're at the mall. Mad house. I got to the Chanel counter and went around to the back so I could swatch a few shades of foundation. A very nice girl from the Clinique counter came over to let me know that the person working Chanel was with someone but she could entertain me in the meantime. I thought that was awesome. When the saleswoman came over to help me she was very enthusiastic about the product I wanted to purchase. We swatched a few shades on our hands and she sold me the shade I wanted although I think she thought I should have gone a shade lighter. I appreciated her not being pushy or insistent. When I'm purchasing high end cosmetics the last thing I want is a product I won't use. Before I left, she gave me a sample of a bronzer because she remembered I mentioned I don't like tanning my face too much. She was extremely friendly and a great salesperson. She wasn't overbearing and she was excited about Chanel products, making me even more certain that I made the right choice. read more

So as I had started... The overly complicated return (not really) was being handled by Peggy.. My husband and I tried our best to help her out, luckily we were rescued by and angel named Row, who rapidly gave us credit for our merchandise and helped us find all our wants and desires !! There isnt anything against Peggy, she just was taking to long on something that isn't enjoyable in the first place, like we really rather be at the counter making returns than drinking a daiquiri by the pool.. Saturday was return day...... stopped in around 3pm.......store was crowed as expected. The associates I encountered were pleasant considering the crowds and the discounts. There are plenty of winter clothes available and one would expect additional discounts later due to the warm temperatures. Patience for parking and egress into the mall lot is warranted but shouldn't be considered a deal buster. I you don't mind a walk, park in the garages to the east at the Kenwood Collection. Can't wait for the new stores at the Kenwood Collection open next fall. read more
