My partner shopped at Macy's yesterday and accidentally left her purchase behind as she browsed some other items. A wonderful employee - Nancy - helped her look for it to no avail. Nancy called back this morning to say that she had found the missing item and left clear instructions about who to speak with and how to retrieve it. I have been a customer of Macy's for many years....I used to remember the high end quality merchandise I used to get at Macy's...but lately it seems like the quality of their clothes has gone down a bit.. Still, I was in the area and decided to check this Macy's out. It has the nice regular departments like men's wear with classics like Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, kitchen, bedding, bath, etc. There were not a lot of associates working the floor during my visit, so it was hard to find someone to ask questions. Still I was able to find what I was looking for. You can still come to the store with coupons that you can find online or the ones that you get by email and save some money on your purchases. Avid Macys shopper probably till today. I've spent a lot of money at Macys in the past. Did a return and purchased more stuff and I was on my way out. Stop by the section was looking at some Northface pants for my teen son and saw this Worker guy by the name of Donatus staring at me to the point it made me feel so uncomfortable. Now I look like a professional don't look like I was stealing I wasn't stealing. I was just looking at the pants, trying to find my sons size, but he made me feel so uncomfortable with his death stares that I put the pants down and walked out it pissed me off to the point like why is he death staring at me-like he's not even security but the stares was just so absolutely uncomfortable unnecessary and negative I had to leave Macy's so please talk to Donatus in the Men's clothing section and let him know to stop death staring at customers making them feel uncomfortable and uneasy. Difficult to find a sales rep. Low staff and only one check-out counter per floor. Dilapidated. Good casual clothing selection for young, smaller sized people, not so much for women over 55. Value and quality have greatly declined over last 5 or 6 years. Selection of coats and jackets is, still, pretty decent. read more

I could not find a cashier to purchase my item from housewares and ended searching in women's intimates to pay for it and out the door! Not a well thought out plan, The furniture store is on a different planet and the sales person detached from reality. We found what we wanted and they're on sale, but they're not selling them right now and we couldn't buy the floor samples. I even suggested splitting it up and purchasing the floor samples from different stores. The answer was no so we walked out. The advertisement on the Internet said free shipping/delivery this item would have to pay for delivery. FYI to Macy's bait and switch is illegal in the state of Massachusetts. Today I took my nephew shopping for men shoes for graduation, the sales women walked past me twice asking other customers if they needed help. Extremely rude, and unprofessional. I took a seat and waited as I just wanted to see how long before she even greeting me. After a customer said "she was her first" they she said are you all set. I wasn't rude nor did I come out of character, I said yes since I watched you service everyone except me I decided to take my business elsewhere. I left the store, I must add, Macy used to be my store of choice but now today people are just rude and very unprofessional. Macy's has great sales but the service is hit or miss. I had a great experience with a gentleman in shoes sales a few weeks ago who ended up bringing me 7 different pairs to try on with a smile ( I took home 4 pairs thanks to his excellent service). Fast forward to a week ago and I was back at Macy's an hour before closing to get something to wear to an out of state funeral the next day. Stressed and rushing, I sprinted out of the dressing room and arrived at the front sales counter to complete my purchase 1 minute before closing. Sales lady said they were already closed and I'd have to come back the next day. I complained the store was open until 10pm and after hemming and hawing , finally pointed to the woman in handbags and advised I should take my items over there to pay. As I walked over there, the woman in handbags saw me and took off in the opposite direction. A male associate in his 20s walking by stopped and told me it was too late, they were closed, and I couldn't check out. I complained that I had been at the register before closing and he said sorry, you're too late you'll have to come back tomorrow. A manager arrived, visibly irritated, and pointed out that it was my fault for expecting to check out a minute before close. She finally relented and found someone to check me out, but the attitude left me with a negative vibe. Were it not for the excellent shoe sales associate a few weeks earlier, that would be my last shopping experience there. read more

I am a loyal shopper of Macy's and have upgraded my diamond many times. I purchased 3ct diamond hoops in Warwick on Black Friday. I had an issue with the clip opening without pressing the safety mechanism. I noticed online they had them in stock in Braintree so I drove there to return and purchase a new pair. The sales associate Meggie Tang was amazing. Not only did she save me $600 which I am so grateful for especially being a Platinum Premier member, but she was so personable and made me feel appreciated. She gave me personal one on one attention and even the jewelry manager was friendly and personable. I just visited the Chanel counter today which is a Tuesday. It is slow in Macys. the Chanel sales lady with full head gray head was somewhat discriminating to me. I approached the Chanel counter first to ask about what foundation for my skin, hoping to get some professional advice. She started to help me and as soon as a white lady came up to ask about lipstcticks she quickly left me sitting there to wait while she's helping that lady first. I saw that there's another helper at her counter, but she did not have her helping this white lady instead she walked away to ring her up and left me there waiting. What kind of customer service is that when you take a customer who came in after the first? she didn't even say, excused me or sorry for the interruption in between clients. I am an educator and I teach my students about being respectful to other people and being honest but sensitive. That's one of the " Golden rules of human relations". She mentioned about being in the Chanel Beauty cosmetician for 20 years, she definitely had thrown all that human relation rules down the toilet. I was not happy with the kindly rude personality that she had displayed. I don't think I will return to that counter ever. read more

This Macy's is cramped and lacks a good variety. There customer service is terrible. The store is crammed with merchandise, but not a wide variety. The merchandise (one specific designer) is all over the place, it was up front in an area and then further back in another area. They definitely have to work on their organization of products. I went to the shoe department which was a mess but got a great deal on a clearance pair of shoes. When I was looking for a salesperson to get me the shoes I saw a saleswoman at the register having a long conversation with either a friend or accuantance. Not once did she ask if she could help me. A second salesman was also at the register, but similarly did offer assistance. Not a problem because the salesman who did help me was super nice (he has assisted me on previous purchases and is always very nice.) So when I was ready to purchase the shoes I went near the register and looked for the salesman who helped me. That's when the first saleswoman (who was still talking to her friend) said she could ring up the sale. I continued to look for my salesman who walked over immediately and rang up the sale. The good deal and nice salesman were the only good thing about Macy's today. read more

The line is growing and I have been here for over 15 minutes waiting to get shoes once I try them on I then need to get back into the line to pay. I would be out of here but I need to get shoes for the weekend. I understand being short staff but this is out of hand. Update: after waiting for longer than the 15 minutes several employees did come over to help customers in line. Problem with these retailer is that busy season they jack up price and give high discount and it seem like you get good deal but you actually paying more. Fine jewelry a $500 original price earring stud in March become $800-$1000. Saw a item that was original price for $2000 more then half a year ago now it's $3200 original price. 1 Star is not only for this place but for Macy's in general and their fake original price and sales. The most I saw the price they jack up is around $3000 on a item from $5000 to $8000. If you don't want people to know then don't let worker change price during store hours with them removing old price tag and adding new price tag. People are not blind. Still there are a lot of people who fall for these deception and buy into their fake sale when they see sale for 30-60% off original price. If you call them out and tell them why did price increase on the item when you saw it was different price before they will tell you it's not that item it's a new merchandise that look similar. When they change tag it's a new barcode so people really can't tell the difference unless they been looking at same item every time they stop at Macy and took picture of the item. Last year I saw a customer ask the worker why the price increase by over $300 for the original price and they told her it's new merchandise and she took out her phone and show them the price of the item with the original price $300 less then what it is currently and worker say it's different barcode different item but she show the picture of the scratch and it's in the same place. She said last time she want to buy it but there was a scratch and she could only bargain for a 10% extra discount but it was still expensive so she took picture of it and was planning to come back often and see if she can getting a better deal but was shock they actually jack up the price. read more

We were here as part of shopping for a couple on the bridal registry. The signs to find the right section could be improved. The individual in appliances was a bit of a hard sell on the Macy's credit card. This made us leave that section. The bridal registry staff were good and accommodating. Unfortunately, they have removed many of the chairs and sofas that allowed the handicapped to rest while others were shopping. I hope management will realize that this means customers will go elsewhere in the future. Please try to improve. read more

Horrible service. I used a coupon and star rewards to buy a shirt this past weekend. After the discount and my $10 star rewards (which I attained after a previous $100 purchase), it came out to be $3.50. The check out woman was rude, like I saved money at her expense or something. Macy's at the South Shore Plaza used to be one of the best department stores in the area, but over the years this location has fallen apart. While they more frequently do have a lot more inventory than the surrounding Macy's locations, they lack in customer service and organization. I'm mad at the Natick Macy's for messing up their online address, but still like that location so, so much better. Between the huge clearance area to the welcoming, smiling employees, the Natick location has very little to improve itself. Here, they've either lost a whole bunch of staff or have changed staff. Many register stands are closed, lots of price scanners don't work, and lots of sections are understocked or very unorganized. It's just unpleasant in several sections. Prices are good, and there are some decent areas of the store, but it just doesn't work for me in total. Even the much smaller Macy's in Brockton is more organized and easier to shop at. Overall, this store is just weird in comparison to the others. It has more than some others, but then again is lackluster in terms of new designs or stockage. If that didn't make sense, then what I'm ultimately saying is that, for the amount of people who shop at this location and the reputation it has/had (when I was growing up, the South Shore Plaza was the place everyone went) has gone down the tubes due to the lack of upkeep, especially in comparison to some of the other large department stores in this mall. For the amount of traffic at the store in Natick, they have enough merchandise and a well job of upkeep. Needs work and a facelift in general to make the store "pop!". 2 stars. read more

I usually have either no luck here at all, or a ton of luck. All winter long I was disappointed with the selection, but spring is already starting to make up for it. The layout isn't great, it doesn't flow easily and sometimes there are too many things in the way to walk through what should be pathways. Often I go to pay and can't find anyone at the register. This happens a lot. Basically be sure you bring your patience when you're coming here and you'll be ok. Over all I like this place and when every I do find something here, it's something I love and wear forever. read more

I went into Macy's in Braintree to the perfume counter only to be greeted by a woman who didn't care to actually assist me. I requested a specific brand and name perfume to her and she said "we don't carry this" and despite me telling her it's on Macy's website that this location does she insisted they don't and had never even heard of it. I went to someone else who brought me to the Armani counter only be told they don't carry Fiore. I looked down into the glass Abs there it was... all 50 boxes of it. So I told her lady, I was just told you don't carry this ? She has no reaction no response "want to use your Macy's account?" So after I purchased it I went back to the other woman and showed her, she had no words no apology. If you dislike your job ... find a new one. Since the closing of Filene's in Downtown Crossing, I found out that many of the former Filene's Shiseido associates relocated to the Macy's in Braintree. This is great for me now that I am back in the South Shore. Tiffany, now the manager, is great along with all the other associates. They are always helpful and usually hook me up with some free samples. They also offer skin analyses (using some electronic gizmo that magnifies your skin showing areas of dryness, sun damage, etc), facials, and makeup consultations. I've been purchasing Shiseido products ever since I was introduced to the brand in college. Damn, I'm going to age myself by saying that's about 10 years now. But seriously, if you have oily skin but a dry surface, you will love Shiseido. They have a line called Pureness which is more for oily skin and also a line called The Skincare which is for the oily skin with a dry surface. I use products from both lines. In fact, I think I own or have tried almost every product from those two lines. They also have a skincare line called Benefiance (geared toward more mature women) and some specialty lines. Also, they have yellow tones in their foundation line which can be hard to find. There are over a billion Asians out there, but some companies still insist on only offering pink and ivory tones. I don't get it. Ok, back to my review...I use the powder foundation which can be used dry or wet. I also use their lipstick which glides on smooth and does not dry out your lips. Don't miss out on the free gift events. The cosmetic bags are always stylish and cute - I have an enormous collection. The goodies aren't that shabby either -- good sizes that are great for travel and they have different gifts depending on which product line you use. read more

This is definitely one of the larger Macy's around, especially when you consider there's also a Macy's Home Store attached to it as well! Although I find most of the departments unorganized and ridiculously short-staffed, I found myself at this Macy's having to buy a bridal shower gift for a wedding I don't particularly want to go to in the first place (insert low grumble here). Since Crate & Barrel wasn't offering free shipping from the store, I checked out the registry at Macy's. I was rescued by a wedding registry consultant who went completely above and beyond his call of duty to help. From a distance he watched me go line-by-line through the registry, roll my eyes, snicker, and whisper "are you #$%^ing kidding me?" as I reviewed the registry. He stepped in, asked me how much I wanted to spend on the shower gift and if I wanted to ship it to the bride. Since I couldn't make the shower, I had to ship it. He worked with me and we went line-by-line through the registry and he even let me vent about how the wedding was going to be a complete circus only without a tent for just about an hour. Seriously, if there was a bottle of red wine involved, he would be my new best friend! He could have left me on my own to traverse the home and kitchenware section by myself ... he helped me pick out the "perfect" gift after talking me out of shipping an empty box full of packing peanuts and purchasing it under the name "Dixon Cider" so it would appear on her registry. (PS - if you don't get the "Dixon Cider" name ... just say it out loud a few times). $51 later after a 15% off coupon, tax, and free shipping... my gift would be shipped including a card. Easy enough. So if you have to purchase a wedding gift and the bride and groom are registered at Macy's, I highly recommend visiting this Macys. I feel terrible I can't remember the consultant's name, but you can bet your sweet ass I'll be back for the actual wedding gift I'll have to purchase. read more

It looks like a tornado hit this place!! It is ALWAYS a disaster in here!!!! Not one single time have I gone here and it was neat. Not an exaggeration. I have bought kids clothes here (NorthFace), but I think they should add new better styles to that department. They also only have boxes to put clothes in (say for a birthday in my case) during HOLIDAYS ONLY. I mean what if you don't have one like me! We just spent a ton of money here for xmas but we got a car full of items all on sale, all great prices. I have a new appreciation for this place. So happy that I am considering opening a Macy's charge card. Yes, people, that is shocking bc I usually hate individual store cards,but seeing the savings my mother got while using her newly opened account was impressive. The store is crowded often and can get messy (esp shoe dept) The women's clothes selection is vast, most of which is not my style from the get-go unless I am willing to do some serious searching. Bonus: (i.e. Fourth star) Huge Carter's selection to fill the void of the separate Carter's store closing down in this mall. Another bonus: Lost my Macy's gift card but had the receipt. With the receipt and my license, they were able to replace it! I just wish the sore would be neater more often. read more

They have a lack of workers and whoever they do have working is pretty much rude. I came there today to shop for my little one and when the price didn't show up as advertised. I spoke up and the cashier pretty much told me to go tell that to the none-existing staffs in children's department to fix it. Sorry that's not my job. I came to shop, not to do what you get paid for. If it was a random item hanging at a wrong spot then I understand but it was the whole collection that was advertised. But I'm just one person.
